This novel starts pretty slow, but it eventually will be split between three things:

  • Visiting brothels. It's entertaining to me because of all the special moves they have.
  • Mecha fights. Mecha are powered by magic in this setting, so the brothel visits directly affect how good he gets at mecha.
  • Plot. There's a story going on and the main character might not know everything, but he's influencing people throughout the world by going to brothels and playing with mecha.
The story starts with the brothels and it takes the main character a while to... more>> gain special moves, but there's a good reason this story has been on top of the ranking list in Nocturne for a long time. <<less

This is not a story. This just text with no real meaning.

All that happens is he makes potions with magic so it's instant and uninteresting.

Sells said potions and makes a good chunk of money.

Goes to a brothel, and there are no actual good scenes. He describes the s*xual part like it was f*cking boxing.

The end.

This is without a doubt the biggest waste of time I have ever read, and I've read easily a thousand different stories.

I remember a bit since I stopped reading because it was "repetitive", and that is because the recurring point was only about the MC going to brothels, also don't know where the "harem" comes from unless refers to all the "prostit**es". I think it was only the repetitive thing that got me out of continuing to read this, personally a novel about s*x only with prostit**es is like eating insipid food and seeing the fact that the plot did not keep me reading either, I can not comment positively.

Well, I could only say that this novel centers on going to Brothel and such which made some of the readers to feel a little turn off including me. However the plot that slowly moves as the chapters continue was fantastic and made me continue reading this novel until it's latest chapter. Well as many says "Don't judge the book by it's cover" this saying perfectly fits this novel.

So boring I dropped it in 10 chapters and felt the need to downvote it because it was an almost criminal waste of my time.

Sell potions, visit brothel, visit brothel, visit brothel. And it’s not like the brothel visits are smutty scenes, some are just straight up fade to black. Maybe eventually there will be a story but as far as I got there was nothing redeeming and no amount of improvement on the authors part is going to make those chapters worth reading as they are.

I don't even know how to describe this... this "thing". Go ahead and try to read it a bit, and then come back to the review section and imagine the people giving this 5 stars LOL. If you like it, give it 4 stars no problem I can see how that's possible, but the MAX is 5! You can't give more than 5! So 5 stars means the best sh*t in the universe!

Ok so here's what happens in the novel: He makes potions that immediately appears in his hands with... more>> no effort, he sells potions, he goes to brothels, he makes potions, he sells potions, he goes to brothels. The MAIN PROBLEM is the author doesn't describe the actual acts when he goes into the brothels! I am not against stories with s*xual content, but here's what happens every time: I finished my food and visited the brothel that the inn keeper told me about, wow that girl is nice I will pick her, the NEXT sentence: WOW that was a great experience! In fact, this novel made me realize I have less faith in humanity than I thought before. People in brothels are PEOPLE. They're HUMANS that talk! You don't turn off your brain when you go in and out and treat them like objects that pass by in your life. Maybe that is actually how people who frequent them think in real life, but that's just sad af.

Thus, this shouldn't even be R18, not adult, no s*xual content. It's also tr*sh at actual plot. So, it is nothing.

Oh by the way, the illustrations are useless, because the things in the illustrations don't matter. The girl in it didn't even have a dialogue.

And another thing, someone said this novel is slow, but how can Chapters go by and the main character STILL not have met anyone with a functioning brain that has had a described (told to us the readers) conversation with him? The innkeeper doesn't count bc he left the town so the innkeeper no longer matters to the actual story!

At first I thought it was nice. I thought I enjoyed the kind of story were he can just develop his understanding of a new world, but he kept going to brothels! Without making any real connection with anybody, or describing the acts! So it's not a story with plot, no problem but can you either have plot, or have "plot" please? When you have nothing, I am just sitting here looking at a guy's inner monologues.

In conclusion. This is nothing. This is not even a thing. <<less

I'm not sure what to say about his novel. No plot so far, no tension so far. There is a bit of comedy, but none of the erotica you might expect, only veiled metaphors in the recollection of the MC's experiences that are too vague to be informative or spicy.

This is not a romance novel for sure, it feels more like a wish-fulfillment fantasy for douche bags: while there is a clinical examination of all the crimes that might be committed on a Jon by women posing as prostit**es, the... more>> existence of magic eliminates the risks of STDs and pregnancy, and the story blatantly ignores the dangers of physical violence, social stigma, and emotional illness that prostit**es are at high risk for. In a schizophrenic twist, the ethical and emotional failure of men who rely on prostit**es and perpetuate this harm on others is examined, but is then hand-waved away as "magical mind control". What a convenient world!

There's nothing to like about the MC. He has tried to conceal his OP skill by traveling from city to city, while conducting all his business by the equivalent of a traceable merchant guild credit card. The MC has a core of caution and knows there are violent monsters in the world and powerful golems controlled by the greedy in the cities, but has taken no measures to study antitheft or personal defensive gear or any kind of self-defense.

The MC seems to have a deep bitterness and dislike towards women. The MC has effectively unlimited earning potential but has no interest in companionship beyond s*x, literally hasn't spoken with any of these pros by choice. The more clinical, emotionally withdrawn and mechanically instructive these prostit**es are when it comes to the MC's s*xual technique the more he seems to respect them. The more youthful or emotionally unsuited to prostitution his partner seems to be, the more violent and r*pey he becomes.

On the bright side, the translations are excellent. I've read that there is more to this story so I won't drop it yet and I may increase the score I put in, but this is an extremely weak beginning that makes me feel pretty gross, even as somebody that supports ero (what ero?!). <<less

I know it said that the guy was going to visit brothels, but I really didn't expect it to be all he does. He can make potions and has healing abilities, but other than selling those for money which is basically a single paragraph every few chapters, that has absolutely no relevance.. And there isn't any depth of description whatsoever. I don't read smut, but even that would have been better than this. And there are literally no characters to speak of. The only names that have come up so... more>> far are the names of the brothels.

It's not dogsh*t tier, and maybe it gets better, but this is just genuinely bad. <<less

Pretty dull. This doesn't even need to be an isekai. You could just make it he found a bunch of money in the normal world and spends his time buying prostit**es. No need for magic or the fantasy world setting. Is so repetitive I only kept reading just to see if anything happens and was let down. Had to stop at c15 because I feel its not going to get any better.

Acquire free money by doing nothing (magic, wow) then spend said money on food and prostit**es. Next chapter do... more>> the same. Honestly with the abilities he has I was expecting him to cure some STDs or something useful but nope. I think this is just the authors way of writing a guide on how to go to brothels and paying for prostit**es. I have been to Thailand and the PI and can verify the majority of what is described it true so I can imagine the author spends a lot of their free time doing exactly what they are writing about, minus the magic.

No adventure and not enough substance to be arousing. Could have been more but is not at this point in the story. <<less

Absolutely freaking horrible.

Now, I don't really write negative reviews, like, ever; I believe in reviewing being "recommending something you enjoyed to potential enjoyers through your positive experience", not shitting on something, which is basically 90% of the reviews (most after chapter 10) on NU, so this is really hard for me, but I just have to in this case, because, guess what - there really are no redeeming features at all. None. At all.

What are the downfalls in the novel?

  1. The horrendous incapability of the main character to step out of the life he left behind. Going through all the chapters and situations, the guy is quite simply still the same construction worker he was when he died, and it's as if he's expecting his entire life being a dream, or a VRMMO, or something. Or you could say he has zero character development.
  2. Tying into this: enforced lack of negative human emotion. "Oh, I've been r*ped and brainwashed by a living corpse masquerading as a young woman, who injured and berated me... oh, but she was kind of right, so thank you, and I'm not even angry, just scared, so let me scamper right off...". Or "I accepted a fair bed wrestling match against a top prostitute who clearly stated she's going all out, but I won, and she was sent to heaven from her experience, now I have to pay three weeks of her wages because she can't sleep with others, and I'm even banned from the brothel... aw shucks, shame on me I guess". Feel free to abuse him however, this man easily embodies the beta bit*h male pitch perfect. Completely inhuman.
  3. Further tied into, is his lack of ingenuity of every form. He can't even utilize his money right, all he does is do activities that, with time, even lose their factor of pleasure for him, letting himself lie with the excuse "I'm living the life I always wanted". In summary - if there's ever been a protagonist in a series that I felt the deepest level of frustration for not being able to give a slapstorm to, after a really stern lecture on how to be an actual person, and not a living-breathing device to move the "plot" of an imbecile forward, this man would easily take that spot. He's the epitome of worthless.
  4. The absolute shitstorm of a mentality of the kingdom's society. These people (even the damned prostit**es, I swear to god) only exist to make the readers freaking furious. I immediately associated these people with the annoying tr*shes in FFF-class tr*shero, because just like Hansoo, Tarou doesn't seem to want to give them names either. Apart from some extreme cases, the prostit**es f.e. are named after physical traits, like "Momma", "Plain-chan", etc. And they freaking deserve the treatment! Imagine a brothel opened not for the sake of business, but the sake of racism, and when you happen to satisfy a prostitute, you're quite literally demeaned with the most obvious fake courtesy. Imagine being coaxed into a brothel, where your Tina turns out to be a Tony, then being openly accused of being a horrible person for losing your goddamn marbles. Imagine a woman who was sent to heaven by your technique, and had you literally excommunicated, coming up to you like nothing happened because "oh, I trained a lot, let's have a rematch", forgetting you were denounced for being good in bed. Et cetera, ad infinitum. (disclaimer: he bent. He freaking bent. Even on the Tony, he went with it, and did it, for f*ck's sake.) If I was the MC of this series, around chapter 170 or so, the corpses would've piled up to high heaven, but if I was a surveying god, I'd break all taboos ever made, and find a way to hit this dumbass with some well-deserved heavenly smiting.
  5. It's normal for a novel to not make little Johnny rear its head, I have my kinks, I know what I want, and with Jp novels being what they are, it's often not what I get (in fact, it rarely truly is). But this is the first "R-18" novel that made little Johnny find the deepest corner of the batcave, and act like he doesn't even exist. I literally had to run a not-so-savory website and check some video footage to see if Johnny will still react. (disclaimer: Johnny is healthy, no need to panic.) The innuendos of the author are honestly, basically horrible. Aegir's (Road to Kingdom) innuendos are quantum physics compared to this shit, and we all know he's not the brightest light on the Christmas tree.
  6. An endless amount of pointless explanations. Normally, I enjoy explanations and walls of text, I like a deeply built background in a novel, and I don't shy away from award-winning character count. But it's an entirely different ballgame when the thing you are being explained doesn't interest you, doesn't interest the protagonist, hell, it seems like it doesn't even interest the author, because the aura wafting off the descriptions is doom, gloom and physical pain coupled with emotional damage.
  7. And most notably, the lack of a story. Now, hear me out here, a story is, for better or for worse, the way the world plays out for a character, in essence, following its protagonist through the happenings. Rarely have I seem a story turning its own protagonist into a victim on a regular basis. This man exists to function as a plot device, and at the same time, he is often - and this is really, like, REALLY amazing, you need to understand how unconventional and f*cking terrible it is at the same time - literally no more than a living excuse to increase character count masquerading as a "story" and failing hard at doing so.
Let's just stop this here, I guess, I really don't even want to think about this enormous letdown anymore. Just one precaution, or call it a wish, maybe? Please, like, pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease, if you read this horrendous waste of time and brain cells, at least do it without any substantial expectations.

It's not at the tier of Oukoku e Tsuzuku Michi, but it reminds me a lot of it. They both lean heavy on the adult scenes early, and use it as a way to drive the plot forward as well as place an equal importance on the R-18 content as the fantasy plot. This one is a bit slower at getting towards building its plot, and seems like it will be less serious overall. That seriousness extends both towards the story/character depth and towards the descriptions of the adult scenes.

Speaking... more>> of the adult scenes, that's actually the part I enjoy the most because the author does a roundabout way of describing them. The translator does an excellent job at following the various metaphors used, because the author never outright describes the s*x acts. I think this method gets the most use out of reading smut in words instead of images or in video format.

Overall, it's got a slow start, but it's very promising in it's world building. The protagonist is sex-obsessed but he's also not a scumbag. Finally, it's leading up to having mechas which is definitely not expected in this genre. <<less

At first, I liked how this novel played out even if there was little to no character development. It is an adult novel with a change of pace compared to others. The thing that really lost me ... more>>
Spoiler

was when he lost the battle vs light cruiser sensei (around chapter 200). The second faceoff that the author tries hype up in earlier chapter by showing the participating female's hard work and learning of new skills. I thought that this could've been a good section to get his main waifu and start the harem and polygamy tag rather than the MC being like it's no big deal, I could care less. My shining sword got wet and felt good worth it. On top of that everyone that knows of him knows he could reach the objective easily, but because society is like it's too much power!" Everyone restricts him to societal "normal" levels.

[collapse]

Tbh it feels like the society of this world villainized the MC for performing better than anyone else. IMO it's a huge contradiction to the story as proficiency in s*xual acts is supposed to bring you closer to God. Also, I don't think God would judge that using your skills in whatever form is unfair. They're a part of you (skills) and you being good enough to employ them in "battle" should be the only reason. To me it's like "you can only attain victory if you walk through all these hoops. Oh yeah, we worship a god in society that encourages s*xual acts and exploits, but you (MC) can't because it's not fair. Yeah, it goes against our teachings and beliefs but, what you do isn't the act of getting closer to God" LMAO might as well give out blue ribbons for participation to everyone and the give the MC a lump of coal because knowing he will win in their "battles". Jus the act of you participating in any s*xual encounter is sacrilegious so if you do participate do it at 20% of your ability and we'll accept whatever result it is. God will too because we said so. That brought out all of my interest in this novel (the plot armor is strong with this one). Not that I believe the MC has to win every time, but to me the way this part of the novel is presented is poorly executed.

Also says polygamy tag and harem tag, yet the MC has no wives. Or for that matter no indication of desire for wives. There's a lot of things that is wrong with this novel and if you're in it for a quick fap. There are better novels with more consistencies and better erot*c scenes. If you're able to turn on your blinders and turn off your brain for this novel go for it. To reiterate and agree with a previous review, "This is not a story. This just text with no real meaning." It tries to be a story. It develops at the speed of a caterpillar trying the circumvent the globe. Sure, the first 50 chapters it seems like there is a modicum of development then for the next 150 chapters it's like the world tree! The world tree! Have to stay hidden. Brothels to go visit with no depiction of the events that happen in them. "ONLY visited so and so. I should visit them again. It felt great." I don't appreciate that maturity in this novel is perceived as conforming to society and being a sheeple to others because they can't keep up with you (kind of reminds me of a certain nation's beta max LN writing style, if the MC did get a waifu I'm sure he'd get cucked).

This has been a HUGE disappointment to me, I was excited to see what happens with the tree and elves. The MC finally started to have development in his abilities. After about 100 part1 and 2 chapters. Instead, he has his head plunged in the sand by the author to milk more chapters. OOH the same suspense for 100 part 1 and 2 chapters. I have more patience then most, but this assembling of writings can't be called a novel, more like a fantasy by the author and a collection of thoughts. It makes me wonder how much experience the author has on the subjects he's writing about and if the author is a middle school boy with 8th grade syndrome trying to be cool with the "grown-ups". Very miniscule development and fake suspense is the noose of this novel.

For the cultured gentleman reader, the most erot*c it gets in the writing is "my shining sword and her ocean." The writing leaves everything to imagination (EVERYTHING) and it reminds me of a child being "we can't talk about that stuff, or we'll get cooties". If you want a passive novel with a passive MC. LIMITED to no story building. Limited descriptions. Beta MC. No harem. No waifus. Little to no character development. No real form of erotica. Very limited story cohesion. Then don't wait. This is THE story for you. If not, read it ONLY if you have read every other novel that remotely interests you. <<less

The thing about this is that it's supposed to be a series about visiting different brothels but the s*x scenes here is almost non existent. Remember those games where there is a s*x scene but it fades to black screen? This is the novelization of it, it's exactly as that. Readers expecting a great erot*c novel with even Butcha-U doing the cover art and illustrations so that increase the excitement of the readers when one read this one will be disappointed that what they had expected is nothing like the... more>> series itself.

Here's a tip if you don't want to be disappointed don't expect this series as an erot*c one and think of this as one of those adventure/harem isekai story. <<less

It started rather boring but gets quite interesting later on. Too bad the translations s**ked so much it barely made any sense so I just skimmed most of the paragraphs... and even some conversations. There's also tons of inconsistent names/terms and a LOT of heavy grammar mistakes that's not even at the area of 'typo' anymore. For example, at one chapter its Boxed Girl, then it became Sheltered Girl, and it became Boxed Girl again; or at one chapter its the city of Awoke, then it became the city of... more>> Auwalk, and baam it became Awoke again. I can tell from skimming this novel that a lot of puns and sex/dirty jokes during his time at brothel were lost due the lack of quality (or rather, proper) translations.

Ironically though, the boring first ten chapters with it's first translator were the best translated chapters, while the later chapters with better plots and interesting developments were so hard to read. <<less

This novel is awful. The manga is decent; this is terrible. And it all comes down to a single issue.

Why the heck should you read a novel where the main focus is on s*x with prostit**es... but where there is no s*x shown? It literally fades to black before s*x scenes. It's barely even R15; there's nothing shown whatsoever.

The manga shows the s*x scenes like how cooking is shown in shokugeki no souma, and it's hilarious. Since the novel doesn't feature any of that, it's just a sub-par isekai with... more>> a sub-par cheat in an underdeveloped world written by a not-very-skilled author in a boring way, and the story meanders with no focus or drive. <<less

I have the feeling that the author challenged himself to introduce as much fetishes as possible, just like "Starless" did.

You need to be open minded to appreciate this novel since sometimes, the author goes really far.

However, It's a good novel to pass time. Nothing is too complicated and all characters are very "open".

Which I personnaly consider the greatest advantage of this novel.

No unnecessary drama.

A fantastic casual Isekai novel. No big fights with a medieval sword, here the protagonist uses a different kind of sword ;). Everyone moves and responds realistically based on the world history. There are no self justice heroes or pointless evil, just people, elf, beasts or spirits striving to live a better life. Definitely a time spend well! Some reader's might be put off from the open s*x culture but they forget that this world is not earth where everyone is constrainted by the chains known as "unspoken society rules"... more>> or the standards this century people have. Some things are not accepted by me in this novel but I don't take em seriously, the chains are on me too, it happens. <<less

So far so good, nothing exciting but an introduction. The only erot*c thing was.. nothing. So main point of this novel was wasted. If erotica was not the main point of it but a third or fourth.. then without ero in first few chapters I might take it.

First thing about ero in this.. its non-existing. So he went to brothel, got a prostitute. Got drinks... and he went out all refreshed. If it was as erot*c as those pictures or similar to hentai.. manga that author (graphic) of it... more>> did. Yet it has a guy which would use prostit**es all life if he could and now now he can because of his OP cheat.. I would get it if he was using it for good of others but.. nope. It's pretty bland, and I'm pretty sure most of the very detailed "extra plot" that is not the erotica by the way.

Oh speaking of erotica, I have to tell you that the erotica is non existent, so thats like 1/3 of the plot gone. The other 1/3 of the plot is about cool combo moves, but hey I'm pretty sure most of that dialogue was taken from some other series because I swear saw that description before.

It's just writing with no substance even a fanfic has more emotion than it.
