No more pushovers!

The main character in Maristella’s life was her friend Dorothea. Maristella was no more than a supporting role, and she struggled and sacrificed herself for her friend’s happiness, only to be betrayed in return.

Dorothea threw Maristella to her death for her own benefit.

“We’re friends, Marie.”

It was Maristella who died miserably.

“So make a concession, will you?”

As I watched Dorothea sacrifice her “friend”, I vowed never to have a miserable ending like that novel.

“You don’t seem like the person I know. It’s like you’re a different person.”

“I decided I would not be subservient to Dorothea anymore.”

I wouldn’t be as kind-hearted as Maristella. So this time I won’t suffer, Dorothea.

The story isn’t bad, but it’s not good either. It’s just kinda meh... the protagonist is just too dense and the story is progressing really slowly and getting more cliche. I don’t particularly like any of the characters and I feel like they aren’t gonna get any better. Haven’t gone too far into the story but I got bored of it so it’s a no no for me

this romance is good, like, he doesn't have a lot of drama (for now, I think) and I found him very pleasant despite that, lol I don't understand why people didn't like it, FL is funny and charismatic but lol

tl;dr a confusing mess with the characters, the story, how I feel about it all, and my rating for it.

It started off good but now the protagonist is kind of getting on my nerves. There are some well-written characters but truly every main character (except for the bad friend antagonist) is kind of polarising. There are equally as many bad things as there are good things about this story.

----

Again with these annoying friends. It truly raises my blood pressure when I see people use their friends; so it's a definite... more>> way to have me root for the protagonist. But readers aren't s*upid and can spot tactics like these. I have two main issues with the entire evil friend/sibling trope.

This story has a premise that has been used a few times and my first issue is how the author has to do some mental gymnastics to convince us, the readers, that the lovely original main character is actually awful. This makes the ‘original story’ the MC transmigrated you redundant. Additionally, it does not explain why all other characters that are still the ‘original characters’ now seem to hate the ‘bad friend character’.

My second issue is that Dorothea is pretty s*upid. People can manipulate others, gaslight them, and do many other things that can lead others to perceive them in a good light when they are in fact not a good person. Unfortunately, these kinds of people are very smart; they know how to phrase sentences and manipulate situations in order to fulfill their needs. Dorothea is... none of that. While this makes it easier for the protagonist to embarrass and ridicule her, it also left me unsatisfied and wondering "how in the world did you let someone as s*upid as this lead to your death?". This made the story seem very lackluster with situations involving Dorothea

though I will say that Dorothea's mother did the whole manipulation tactic splendidly and when she became a part of the story I was actually quite excited to see how she would handle the situation

Maristella: (ok i’m gonna be honest here. I had this story on hold for over half a year and wrote most of this review at the time I was reading it. Basically, I don’t remember much about the protagonist but honestly, there’s not a single cell in my body that wants to reread this story just to give a comprehensive breakdown of her character. Let that be an indication of how much I enjoyed the story.)

Odeletta: Polarising. I keep switching between being apprehensive of her, rooting for her, chastising some of her actions, and sympathises for her.

Claude: not much to say except he gives me bad vibes? He's a decent person but for some reason, I don't trust him at all.

Xavier: I feel that Xavier is the most well-written character as the author takes the time to either hint or explain certain parts of his childhood and how that has affected his personality and current behavior. I was originally neutral about him but after chapter 54 I really started to like him as I thought that he handled the situation quite maturely while considering all the different people in the situation.

Was going to give it 3 stars, but bumped it down to 2 considering I don’t even want to reread it again. <<less

It's a good novel to when you have nothing, like nothing more to read and you just want to spend time.

Like others said the promo manhwa was outstanding, beautiful and seemed to be good but guess what- it's just like other novels where every male character is attracted to the FL for no reason at all and she is dense af, that damn woman is supposed to be a cunning one but

Other thing that get on my nerves is her relationship with the og protagonist

Spoiler

•The way Maristella meet Claude is weird and unrealistic,

•the prince is ok but I expected more,

•I thought Odelleta would be a nice character but meh was wrong

•Maristella is dense just like every other protagonist in a romance novel

The only good character worth to be praised is Mari's sister, it's a pity she doesn't appear very much

If I was to pinpoint everything wrong with this novel my review would be GIGANTIC, so I'll just stop here (: <<less

The plot might be not that interesting compare to other korean novels. But I enjoy this kind of novel. It's your everyday noble-life type of novel.

Well, MC is so tense, that sometimes kinda frustating.

She is close to Crown Prince and a Duke, which both of them consider as the most-popular marriageable bachelor. She really thought that there was zero posibility romance between them. When people around her know that CP and Duke try to win her heart.

If you like slow-pace everyday life with average romance problem, this might be right novel for you. <<less

This is such an amazing novel. You wont regret it!!

If you want to smell some delicious roasting, this is the place!!

I love that the MC still has traits of her previous life. Shes a strong and clever character.
Spoiler

I love the fact that just because she entered into a story she read, she doesnt exactly know every detail to go and change it. As well as the fact that she sometimes struggles to get to each goal at parts of the story. - Like she didn't know how to stop Dorothy and Prince from meeting. She didnt know about her bodys homelife

I think I found a gold.

It just felt satisfying to read this novel especially when MC tried to be sarcastic with Dorothea. It is also funny to read her internal monologues, and her interactions with the other characters.

Not just her, but everyone makes the story so lively. For example, her sister, friend-to-be Odeletta and the crown prince might be looked stereotypic at first, but as the plot expands, their personal perspectives were elaborated.

At least, give this novel a try first.
