This novel is one of the best BL-themed novels translated in English. I've read it at least 5 times by now, and I'm still planning to read it again and again, it's just so good.
Kitagawa's pure, unconditional love and almost autistic character is what I love the most.

If you like characters who love unconditionally, and have a child-like, pure, almost autistic tendencies in character, and like to feel your heart broken over and over till you reach the end of the novel, you definitely should read this gem! (And also "Brother" by Ren Ti Gu Jia, trust me, you'll like that one too!)

This might just be the best novel I have ever read let alone BL. It's just so perfect that I am still in awe. It was so beautiful and heart wrenching at the same time and had this dreamy-ethreal vibe to it. It felt like the author was playing a melancholy song on my heart strings.

Some people didn't like Donou but in my opinion he was simply aware of how the world worked and did what truly was the best for him untill the very end. But I absolutely adore the way it turned out for them and Kei is just so stinking cute!!!

Frankly speaking, I didn't really give a sh*t about the kid so whatever and the wife deserved what she got.

I would've preferred to give my life to this but sadly I can only give 5 stars. <<less

Wow that was an amazing journey with Duano and kei thank you so much for the author and the translator, the story touched me deeply it was heart wrenching and sweet at the same time, the only thing which pissed off Dauno lived his entire live miserably and wronged justice was never in his side and he got nothing as a compensation.

So, this is actually my first Japanese light novel. Honestly, I was a but hesitant to try this but I took a gamble. And it paid off. The translation is wonderful. The characters are amazing, their growth even more so. Its beautiful and tragic at the same time. I tend to avoid overly dramatic or tragic novels but this one is real to its core. I developed sympathy for all the side characters as well. There isnt really a villain. Its just real life. If anyones unsure whether to try... more>> it or not, I vote yes. The story, the characters are all beautiful. The last epilogue made me cry like a little kid.

I keep coming back to their story because I love them so much. I have so many thoughts and no words to express my adoration for this story. I fully understand how their relationship began but it surpasses everything. I'm impressed with how much they truly love one another.

A beautifully written novel that made me shed a couple of tears. Kitagawa's pure love for Douno just breaks my heart. This has been on my reading list for such a long time, and now I question myself why I didn't read it sooner. Highly recommended, 10/10

It was an emotional reading..

I feel hurt many times, like I want to cry but I just cant. Everything Kitagawa did, just hurt me so muchh.. I wish I can be another Douno for him.. The extras are the best, and finally, I really couldnt hold my tears at the last few chapters..

It was a satisfying read. I glad I found this book.

A happy ending story, but still makes you cry like a waterfall. Absolutely a wonderful read (but mind that there are some topics that may upset someone, but I found them fine for the characters growth).

The story is divided into different parts. Each part gleaned in the different aspect of life as well as presents various persona which you can't help but relate with. A very moving story, definitely worthy of your time.
