Disregard the low rating, this is actually a really good novel.

The MC is a psychiatrist who is a bit too empathetic to her patients for her own good and she is very aware of that unlike what people around her think.

The ML is typical of tr*shy "romance" cn but what's different is that it's made clear he suffers from psychological problems and so their relationship begins as that of a doctor and her patient even if an unconventional report takes place between them.

The mc's naivety is a voluntary one in... more>> my opinion, she really likes to see the best in people and that brings her losses now and then. The ML is actually a good match because he is very disillusioned with people in general which is why he begins to become interested in the MC, it's a sort of magnetic fascination with your polar opposite. They're both smart people and the goals or rather the expectations they have out of their interactions bring really interesting results. In once chapter the MC says something along the line that she always ends up as the losing party when interacting with the ml, but in fact I consider it the opposite. The MC achieves a lot more of what she wants out of their relationship.

Besides the main couple there's also 2 other characters who are pretty 3D but read the novel to find out haha. <<less

At first I liked the novel but after reading more I realized how awful it truly is. The FL is so stuborn and her decisions aren’t always the best, especially as a doctor. The ML has pyschological issues, that’s why I tolerated a lot of his actions. However, I think they should have waited until before starting their relationship, because it clearly isn’t healthy for either of them. Some of his actions made me so angry because he is so selfish and doesn’t hesitate to harm her feelings or her... more>> career, which I just can’t stand by. The worst thing is after all this she still stays with him. There are no truly nice or likable characters, even their friends are problematic. It updates twice a day which is probably the only reason I still tried to give it a chance after all these red flags but I has gotten to a point where I can no longer read it. <<less

I dropped it. And I hate to leave unfinished readings.

The FL is a psychiatrist and her professor asks her to meet the ML.

As you may have read, the ML has a metal illness, that's not the problem. I kind of liked his character and I was trying really hard to finish this book so I can see him be happy. But gosh, it's awful.

The book is really well written and well translated. But... Pardon me, the girl is so dumb, she is supposed to be smart and empathetic, but she... more>> is just two timing between the ML and the second ML, it's like, I like my first love and I want to be with him, but also I want to get close to the ML so I can gain his trust and treat him, so would comply with his wish of a relationship, but he's not my boyfriend to get his trust. But from the very beginning he was asking for a partner and no a doctor. I know she was well intented but it's just plainly unprofessional of her.

Also there is this thing that she can't meet a single person without trying to treat them. So meddlesome.

Maybe later on it gets better, but I can't stand it.

I guess it's not that bad, but the FL is so unlikeable.

Also, sorry if my english is bad, it's not my maternal language :) <<less

At first I thought that this novel looked pretty good and disregarded the low ratings. But going on in the novel, I realized that the FL as a psychiatrist is really not making the best decisions. She doesn't bother to clear up rumors, she is stringing two guys along with her.
Spoiler
[collapse]
She has liked a guy for a long time and he has liked her too, but she doesn't want to get married to him.

She is just so indecisive and doesn't understand how many people she is hurting in the process.

Objectively, it's a well-written novel.

  • The characters are very human-like. No one is good or bad, they are just people, with their own view, own objectives, and they acted upon their beliefs.
  • The plot is well-developed and kept entertaining you. It also doesn't shy away from talking about mental illness. For example, in another novel called My Husband With Scholar Syndrome, the ML is autistic, but it's a fluffy romance, the dark side of his illness are barely mentioned. Here it's not the case at all, mainly because the MC is a psychiatrist. As a result, the plot gained in maturity and in depth.
  • The translation is of good quality, and it's great to enjoy a fully-completed story.
Now, subjectively, do I like this story? Not really. I did read it from start to... more>> finish, and while I was never bored, sometimes I had to drop it and go roll on my bed and scream in frustration/embarrassment. Why?

  • Actually, I didn't like most of the characters. There were many times I found them annoying, or I disagreed with their actions. For the MC, sometimes I was screaming "nooo, idiot! Don't go now, you'll lose him! Why are you such a work-alcoholic? I'll break up with you if I were him!" For the ML... I don't like him. A pity for a romance story! I have read stories with a possessive, overbearing CEO, but this one... it's like everything he does can be forgotten because he is ill. I'm sorry but no. And then, there are the MC's family and friends... again, there were many times when I found them meddlesome, pushy and annoying. Even when they were there when the MC needed them, more times than not they did more harm than good.
  • The author has the tendency to over-exaggerate her foreshadowing. You see the cliché line "But at this time, she had yet to know how she would later deeply regret her actions at that time...." ? Well, the author reuses this several times, on different issue, ok, but still it was too dramatic. The author also has the tendency to make the ML appears at the worst timing possible. Once or twice can be a good plot device, but 6 or 7 times make it boring.
Because the negative remarks mainly stream from my personal taste and not the quality of the novel, I encourage you to give it a try and see if you'll like the story. You'll see quickly enough if it's a good fit for you or not. <<less

A unique and quite thrilling ride for a romance story. A lot of mixed feelings in between towards certain character (s) or event (s). But thankfully I think it worked out well in the end. And if there are some loose ends, it tends to leave a realistic impression rather than feeling it like a plothole. Thank you for translating and sharing this story with us readers. Hoping for more about the couple's children, especially the twin. But so far, the conclusion is pretty satisfying. It's a really one of a kind story :D

This story is SO GOOD. The ML is hilarious and the FL compliments him perfectly as a psychiatrist. It’s so refreshing to see a Chinese novel that isn’t about acting and doesn’t describe how “limpid” and “tender” the FL is every paragraph. The ML sometimes acts out of pocket but it’s simply because of trauma and his mental illnesses. I do feel bad for the FL’s first love tho ?. Other than that, I totally recommend this novel

I love the way their relationship progresses, I don't know why it has a rating less than 4 if it deserves more, well I don't know much about mental illness, but at least to me everything that was said made sense. I liked that they didn't change ml's personality all of a sudden, although there were some things I didn't like about him, but considering his mental illness, they were addressed well. Beautiful novel, very realistic at least for me.

Story is too longwinded imo.
The story focus too much in to 1 patient life. FL supposed to be the smartest in her field but I didn’t think so. As a professional, she involved too much in her patient life, Chen Jiaman and adopted her as her daughter which I think is so strange, s*upid & didn’t make sense. With her personality, she should open an orphanage instead and adopted every single person under her care.

I skipped lots of chapters because it’s too boring.

Plot is interesting, it could have been something great. I actually like the writing style. This is something that you'll read when you got anything else to read, but even then, I was having a hard time finishing this novel. The FL's personality is blah. I was trying to like her, but she's just... meh. I actually found the ML okay.

I’ve read diligently up to chapter 70, where she left her boyfriend to attend the sick ML. Wrong, totally wrong! She is more invested in another man than her supposedly long time crush/now boyfriend. She conveniently used her doctor title only when it’s fit her agenda. While being a doctor who especially deal with emotional part of the patients, and being praised exceptionally at that, she neglected her own boyfriend emotionally many many times. Then she blamed it on him for not being able to break free from his mother,... more>> hence their relationship failed. So she has no part of it huh. When she come to know that it was her beloved ML who use the scheme of spiking then boyfriend’s tea with the other woman, so he ends up in bed with her, she freaking excused his behavior and brazenly told the ex he didn’t lose anything’s in fact gained by marrying into wealth and power and completely dismissed his protest that he did lost something, and that was her. Aaand she got mad at him for saying this and just told him to take care of your wife. How unfeeling can this super duper good psychiatrist could be? If it was the other way around, a woman use this scheme to steal someone else boyfriend, I bet people will flip tables. But who cares. Even when the ML almost r*pe her, even when he destroyed her career, that is not important. Because he’s mentally sick. So it’s okay to destroy other people life, especially other man. Most importantly, he’s handsome, rich and have a very good body. <<less

Certainly a novel which tested my patience, thankfully didn't drop this.

This novel deals with mental health issues and some parts of it are just pure agonising because at one point we just see things getting better but in a sec its back to the beginning. One really needs patience to stick around for the character development to take place and since it has 250+ chaps.. It takes a long time to reach a 'happy place'.

About the FL, I sometimes doubted her ability because she gets way too emotionally invested into... more>> her patients and is willing to disregard moral ethics to cure them but now I guess it just shows that's she's just a human with tremendous sensitivity. About her relationship with the ML, man that was hard to read at the beginning and then ahh the foreshadowing was just annoying at times, regardless it's to be kept in mind that he's someone suffering from mental health issues as well and only one thing he needs is time and patience.
Spoiler

Just when we think thinks are going well, he sort of relapses and everything that they had overcome before seems futile but it just needs more time, no mental health issue as severe his (as depicted) could be solved within a short time period so please disstdiss ML but don't give up on him, he gets better and his connection with his son later is just heartwarming

[collapse]

Lol, after having seen some of the "Domineering CEO" series like *cough* well intended <3 *cough*, I found some of the actions really similar but thankfully here they properly depict the ML having issues and not asjas some perfect immortal with quirks ;-; lol.

Anyways, it's a really good read and even if u get fed up in the middle, remember the end is worth all of the sufferings. <<less

(And she only had one dimple.

The first words he had ever said to her were, “You only have one dimple? How ugly!”

But what he had truly wanted to say at that time was, “I’ve been waiting all my life, and now I know that I was always waiting for you.”)

... more>> This is my most favorite web novel. True that the ML & FL have many imperfections, but their love is heart melting. The emotional setup of this story is too immersive.

I love the way the 2 leads don't speak out but their overwhelming love is expressed through their thoughts and actions.

Thank you for a great love story. <<less

Is a decent plot but I am constantly irritated by the MC being a pushover. I understand her being patient with her patients and ML because of their circumstances but shes a total pushover to other characters as well. She only gets as far as saying "Its a misunderstanding..." and never ends up clarifying after. The author writes her as holding in her curses so dont expect any smart comebacks to enemies from MC.

The ML is blunt and not cooperative at all (at least until I read so far) .... more>> It doesnt make sense to me how he doesnt even try to analyse others feelings.

MC is also having an ambiguous relationship with the 2nd male lead even if she knows theres an extremely low probability of it working out with him.

Other than that, shes not entirely professional in her work although I do appreciate her empathy and determination.

50/50 chance Ill continue this novel. <<less

I tried reading this before. At that time I thought this is gonna be good because the MC is a psychologist. But the first chapters, I already knew I'm gonna drop this. No doctor is allowed to disclose their patient's record. Unless needed or the law is taking it. For example, the patient committed a crime. The MC is involved with ML so much that she doesn't have a personal life anymore. I was so angry when she got mad with her boyfriend when in fact she doesn't tell the... more>> truth and explain to him. She's making him the villain. Her decisions are the WORST! She's so dumb and doesn't act like a professional. I don't like the ML because he did something to MC's then boyfriend. This novel had me crying of frustration and anger. Until now I remember my deep hate for this. <<less

The FL's role as a psychiatrist is questionable. I don't think she is a very good one, which is why I gave it 4 stars.

The romance is good and is funny. I supposed if ML only can get it on with FL, he will not spare anyone or anything to get what he wants. Which is why this story is comical and very cute.

I'm not quite understand the love for the novel. But I agree that the story still OK to read and spent your time

Like :

  • MC has good character and very humane to her patient
  • The pace is OK and has good ending
Dislike :

  • The ML character is too bestial. Yes its because of his ilness, but talking about wanna have s*x with her all the time so bluntly is kinda not appropriate
  • MC always demanded trust but she does not give a reasonable explanation either on each conflict, which kinda not make sense on a healthy relationship and she's too easy to let go the 2nd ML and kinda have different attitude on ML (though her reason was because 2nd ML is giving up on her while the ML is not)
  • as a good psychiatrist, she's too easy to fall in love with her mentally ill patient (which kinda not make sense, and guess what, the justification mainly due too the ML is too handsome and have great body)

I wanted to avoid dropping novels as much as possible and always want to give novels a chance until the end... but this time, I decided to drop this bc my braincells can't accept some situations.

Most of the time, the MC put the "doctor's name" in shame due to her lack of professionalism. The smart doctor persona immediately disappear most of the time. She was like a pushover puppet. Having a "golden heart" for patients can't be the reason for her attitude tho -_-

The ML got psychological issues and I... more>> can still understand his attitude... but other characters also got questionable minds especially ML's sexist friends.

Spoiler

FL was even harass during drank during the 1st meet up, left without transportation after forcing to play games... and worst was the friends and ML tend to say foul words to MC even when they just met for the 1st time (ノಠ益ಠ) ノ彡┻━┻ Most supporting characters neglected MC's opinion and forcing her to do something. She also tend to agree with being a temporary gf of ML but tend to contradict their relationship in front of others especially her "crush" -_-

[collapse]

If you can get through these... congratulations LMAO.

The later parts starting from chapter 24 became more interesting especially MC's patient case... but I still dislike the love triangle and can't get over with MC's high-level pushover attitude & indecisiveness. <<less
