On the first day Chu Chu transmigrated into the book, she opened the wardrobe full of luxury goods and had a feeling of a poor citizen becoming rich overnight.

Chu Chu:Are you kidding me? Does a wealthy president not like the tasty food in Michelin restaurants or feel that Chanel is not good looking?

Chu Chu: Let’s go bankrupt!!

She just wanted to feel the domineering life of a female president, but accidentally she set the professional benchmark for strong women.

Original female lead: My goal is to become an independent woman like President Chu! Love delayed my journey to get rich!

This novel is hilarious! The best transmigration story I've read in a while or maybe ever! The execution is so refreshing and the characters are likeable and well-rounded. I laughed so many times reading this!

I never usually like the boss x secretary relationship because I always feel like the boss ends up exploiting the secretary because of the inherent balance of power but in this story the characters complement each other well and they feel like a team. This might be because of the role reversal with the FL being... more>> the boss to the ML.

Our FL is:

lazy
Spoiler

(all she wants to do is be a rich second gen who doesn't have to work for money yet she can't quit her job because she made a bet with her dad that if she can't make 10 billion in three years she'll have to go back and get married)

[collapse]

whimsical
Spoiler

(a very mypace person, she's unpredictable e.g. At one point she has to sing an OST song for a historical costume drama her company produces but because she can't sing she demands that ballad be rewritten as a rap song. Later when the song is produced netizens call it the most deadly song of the year LOL)

[collapse]

childish
Spoiler

(she can be cute and petty and a lot of the time she feels like a rebellious chunnibyou teen lol)

[collapse]

narcissistic
Spoiler

(she constantly praises herself to the point that she has an online following because of how narcissistic yet true some of her words are e.g. She often competes with her dad over who's the more successful one and when interviewed she said that she thinks she's better than her dad because he may have more money than her now but she's got the better looking face)

[collapse]

great at winning people over
Spoiler

(she really has a way with words and she'll often leave people speechless e.g. When asked why she's suing the original ML for 100 mil for leaving her company she replies that she's actually respecting him by charging him with that much because she thinks he's worth that much. If he thinks he's worth less than that she'd ask for less lol. The ML jokingly likens her to the leader of an MLM scam ring

[collapse]

The ML is:

not obvious at first and
Spoiler

the romance moves slowly at first but their relationship is so damn cute because they're so supportive of everything the other does

[collapse]

smart and rational
Spoiler

(he takes care of all the finance side of things in the company because the FL is realistically not a business genius)

[collapse]

comes from a poor background but is hardworking and capable.
Spoiler

At certain points in the story other characters try to belittle him for his humble background or try to turn him against the FL but she defends and protects him each time. Later in the story he thinks to himself that although he knows he's just an ordinary person/commoner, the FL always makes him feel as if he's a special and valuable existence in this world and that's one of the reasons why he loves her so much.

[collapse]

The leads aside the other characters that make an appearance in the story are also hilarious. There's no evil parents in this story and even the "evil stepmother" trope is turned on its head later on. Neither set of parents try to interfere in their relationship because of their different social statuses. In fact, the parents seem to treat their in-laws better than their own kids lol.

There's so much to like about this story! <<less

Damn, I've spent most of my times searching for novels like this where the FL is not supressed or lose out to the ML i.e; Male God, Shine Bright!, One Hundred Reasons For Krypton Gold, I Raised a Sick and Weak Prince, and Heroine Saves a Gentleman.

Okay, let's start with the review.

Our FL hated those novels, plots, or tropes where the female characters spent their times to trip each other. She thought that it was ridiculous. Unfortunately, when she was transmigrated, she got the 'Vicious Female Supporting Aura' system... more>> that required her to do what she hated the most-- tripping each other. I really really really like how she stayed true to her principles. She refused to submit to the system and after repeatedly jumping off the rooftop, she got the 'Overbearing President Aura' system instead. It also required her to say -extremely- cheesy lines that we often see in typical overbearing president novels to the novel's FL.

The ML was---FABULOUS, not overbearing, understanding, sensitive, intellegent, sweet, and cute (?)

Spoiler

If you usually read where the FL got tricked by ML, here you get the ML who got tricked by the FL instead. Do you know what's funnier? That he unknowingly helped FL tricked himself.

[collapse]

The step mother and father were also hilarious. The father was constantly in competition with Fl, meanwhile the step mother surprisingly later got along with FL.

The plot was nice, just right, without excessive drama but won't make make you bored. The jokes are on point and never felt awkward or not funny. The remarks were witty. The romance was quite slow, but realistic. It's gradual, and it became extremely sweet after both leads admitted their feelings.

Good plot

Good characters

Excellent jokes

This is Mango approved.

This review will first go through why this particular series is fresh enough to deserve a 5, and then into the actual technicalities of the writing.

Only 60 chapters in, this series has already made me laugh out harder than any recent series I can remember. The storyline is the common troupe: protagonist gets transmigrated to a fictional world known to them prior, where they get a system which essentially drives the plot. That is the stereotype, and this series manages to take it and basically upper cut... more>> it to oblivion.

The MC is the female lead. She is a strong character who is even willing to kill herself rather than go against her principles. Thus, instead of the system driving the plot, it is the female lead who pushes things forward. Her past knowledge of the story isn't really helpful and instead, it is her past professional experience which is more crucial for her. But! She is actually controlled by a system... sorta. Rather than plot points, it is a source of comedy. It adds brilliance to the series instead of acting as the sole driver of the plot.

The personality of the female lead is the real core of this series. However, the supporting cast is not too bad. The potential male lead is a wonderful character, rather than the typical CEO XYZ. In addition, the original main characters of the series are dealt with sensibly and go beyond their original roles.

Overall, the series is arguably just entering its middle portions, where some semblance of drama may be introduced. However, even if this series goes south from this point, the first 50 odd chapters are enough content.

From a technical point of view, this series has some seriously bold writing for a CN. The system is used quite effectively to create hilarious situations. Personally, I would love it if the series simply continued on with this Gintama-esque essence. In addition, by the nature of the satirical jokes in this series, I would recommend mainly seasoned readers who have gone through a couple CN CEO style novels to give it a try.

This series is as fresh as a Mango plucked after ripening on the tree. Do give it a try! <<less

Ratings summary: I MTL'd this up to Chapter 135, already pretty close to the end. Personally, I'm giving this 5/5 simply on the strength of the humour and the interesting characterisations. It's a bit unfocused in terms of genre, though, so, probably 3/5 on that front, because it can be a little confusing for readers looking for one particular type of genre or another. See spoilered text below for more details.

Spoiler

If I wasn't so skilled in the art of laughing quietly, I would've laughed my backside off as I read this. The sense of humour/comedy is at least in the top 5% of all webnovels. It's that good, and with how the plot consequences feel real enough, it's enough for me to give this work top rating. When I say plot consequences, it's like how the Original ML got pushed aside out of the MC's life pretty quickly and easily. Well, of course—he's only an actor, she's a second generation CEO, they have vastly different firepowers and move in different world. Once she decided to kick him out of her circle, there's really no way for him to approach her if she doesn't want to.

[collapse]

Characters: I admire the Chu Chu's principled stand against the random System attaching itself to her and forcing her to be a Vicious Female Side Character at the beginning. If she didn't complete their tasks, she would have died. She didn't want to do something that braindead, so she decided to take the shortcut, went up the nearest rooftop and jumped down to kill herself. When the System resets, she did this repeatedly until it gave up and hastily modified her aura into Domineering CEO and changes the required quests it gave into this type. Then, the fun starts.

I can't believe I have to say this, but it's refreshing to actually read a c-novel where the MC and ML does not have a beautiful and/or handsome appearance that is described for ages or even paragraphs. Oh, she's pretty, it's mentioned. But that's it, it doesn't become a character point. The ML, on the other hand, is so low-key that a lot of readers failed to realise that he's the male lead until a lot of chapters passed. Most people don't even see him as handsome or extraordinarily attractive.

As someone who gets used to attractive faces easily and don't get fazed by them after a while, I feel represented here.

Weaknesses: Genre consistency, like I said. The first part is her living up to the Domineering CEO aura and establishing that characterisation and reputation, as well as huge yuri-bait/GL-bait between the MC and Original FL. After that, it mostly turns into a business management/empire building story with a side of slow-burn romance. The System gets submerged most of the time. The other two sub-arcs are a side of thriller (somebody gets kidnapped), and then country living (still with some of the management bit in) and the short run to the finish. There's not quite a climax/ending.

Strengths: Humour is top of the line, as mentioned earlier. The business management side, oddly enough. I'm getting flashbacks to reading business cases just from MTL-ing this. Not realistic enough to make you want to puke, but enough to make you think. The realism; the MC and ML is really professional at work. There's no such thing as office s*x, considering they don't even look any closer than friends at the office.

Weakness and Strength: None of the bad guys from the original story Chu Chu entered was actually a significant threat to her. So, any tension that occurs in the story due to that doesn't last long.

Realism. Look, this may be your cup of tea, or this may not, but it captures pretty well the high-pressure life of a high-achieving CEO, even one running family companies. There business plans to make, feasibility studies to run, legal strategies to give to the legal team, the constant PR-firefighting online, prepping for an IPO... the list goes on. If management with a ton of comedy of errors your cup of tea, this would be enjoyable.

If you want more romance, though, this is actually so realistic that you wish the main characters would actually just... go home early and go on a nice date from time to time. Maybe they can not spend Sundays in front of the laptop reading the latest financial report or keeping track of product launches live, or something. Take walks in the park at night or even just hang out at an apartment rooftop and watch stars, I beg you. More warm relationship fluff would've been nice.

If you're looking for sheer escapism, this might not be fantastic enough.

TL:DR: Woman transmigrates to become Domineering CEO lady, wows the original FL and pulls her out of the Original ML's orbit. She cuts a swathe of destruction and creation through several industries in the business world. The guy who's her love interest is the one competently managing the egos she'd trampled on the way. Deconstruction of what a CEO does versus their easy life in most c-novels also happens. <<less

I am not done with this novel but I have to say that I am loving it. It is different from the novels I usually read not the typical style of a "villainess transmigration story". I recently have been wishing to read stories with less romance that doesn't include the typical overbearing male president because when I read those I feel the love isn't too realistic in a way. So I'm happy to read this novel. The comedy is wonderful and makes me laugh. I almost thought there would be... more>> a shoujo ai subplot but there wasn't which I don't mind because I found someone I ship our MC with. Our MC has in a way a poisonous tongue that makes me laugh and love. I can't wait for the chapters to be translated in English to read and indulge myself with. <<less

Honestly, this is only good for 4 stars, but why did I give it 5 stars instead? It's because this novel made me laugh out loud, literally. It's really good comedy. Our MC has the Overbearing President aura, but has a passerby mindset. She does not care about other people AT ALL. It makes her character hilarious.

Interactions for MC and ML, although not filled with sweet words of affirmation, will make you feel giddy. Their romance is being shy and being assertive, both at the same time. Give this one... more>> a try if you want so good rom-com! <<less

This story is hilarious! I loveeee the MC's shenanigans. She always never fails to make me gag. She's funny, bold and shamelesz. I love her character. And the ML is refreshing. I didn't expect him to be the ML to be honest, I just realized it around 30 chapters when I was like "Where's ML???" then I realized he's literally the only guy around MC all the time so he must be ML. AND I love him sooooo frikin much. Reading his character after all tye overbearing, possessive, black-bellied ceo... more>> kind of MLs is just toooooo damn satisfying!! I adore the Father-Daughter Dynamics. Chu Dong is such a cutie. Step mom is one of my favs idk why I just like her. ML's mom is sooo sweet and chill. FL of the orig story is so innocently cute and is such a huge fangurl. And MC's fan base is suuuupee hilarious. All in all, this was a one of a kind story, I absolute recommend. <<less

The story is actually good and I recommend reading this. If you want to know if this is yuri/shoujo ai, nope this is BG. The reason why I rated this 4/5 is because of issues did not get resolved/answered.

1. What happened to the original Male Lead? There’s really no final note what happened to him.

2. Who was the mastermind behind their abduction? Aside from mentioning that it might be a powerful person, nothing happened. It might be related to the European investor of that Huang something, but no further description.

Those are just some issues that I noticed. Nevertheless, this is really a fun novel that made me wish to be rich too. Also, the extras are also good. Lol I felt bad for her son. <<less

Dropped.

It was fun-- the first half of the novel.

The FL is funny and you watch her assimilate in the world and interact with the original characters of the novel.

Until I got to about chapter 250. Its now drags and drags. I wish the author eneded it after they got married and quickly settled everything. But no, there's old characters that pop out to get revenge and it just dragsssssss.

After noticing her making a move I actually laughed so hard until the last chapter. I'm glad I have patience!

I have been looking for the ML! BUT HE WAS ACTUALLY ALWAYS THEREBY THE FL'S SIDE!! Ah truly a passerman aura.

Ahhhhhhh this was such a good read! It was funny and hilarious and kept a really wonderful balance between humour and seriousness within a business setting, and the relationship between the MC and the ML is so wonderful that I wanted to keep reading about it forever.

Spoiler

When we first got alerted to the presence of the ML I was like hoping it wouldn't be him because while it would've been adorable, I didn't like the large power imbalance between them, with him as her secretary (? Correct me if I'm wrong but it felt like that was basically his job even though she has an actual secretary) and running himself ragged to pick up after her and make sure things aren't going wrong, but I felt that the author did a nice job in slowly shifting and closing the gap between them. MC slowly showed more and more care for him and he figured out that she's not from this universe!!!!!

That's absolutely incredible considering there are a bunch of stories out there that doesn't have it happen even through to the end without the transmigrater or rebirther telling someone, but he actually figured out that she wasn't the original owner which like blows my mind. Of course, he doesn't know everything about her but he knows her real name (which is more than all of us do) and there's their little deal that she'll keep telling him more about herself on his birthdays which is really cute.

[collapse]

The very first few chapters is a bit hard to get through because it seems like ugh what in hell are you doing MC???? Like she really confused me at first because her actions seemed so atypical, but then I realised that that's just how she rolls and she's figuring everything out just like us readers, and that's when the comedy kicked in. She's so shameless (affectionate) and I love her so much for it because while everything's pretty Mary Sue, it didn't feel completely Mary Sue in that she had to work for things and there is so much she just frankly sucks at, her behaviour is 180º from any Mary Sue, and of course everything went down so much easier with the light-heartedness and humour. Her ability to barely give a sh*t about things (while actually giving many shits) is so refreshing and inspiring.

I also settled in for just a comedy of face-slapping business moves and honestly completely forgot about the romance part for a good bit and wow, did not expect ML. He kinda crept up on me and then I just couldn't stop seeing him, but it was a really smooth and clean transition from the more business mode of the story into the romance in a way that felt nice and natural and not over-the-top and unacceptable. ML is also so sweet and caring, and honestly I want all the best for him so it's nice that he can have MC with him. I want an ML for myself so badly but I guess I'll settle for reading their sweet romance over and over. Their conversations and actions are all so sweet (and then interrupted by comedy because with MC you can never predict the next words out her mouth).

The backstories are also pretty nice too, and while they both suffered differently it's nice to see how they both overcame and grew from them.

No second leads, which was soothing, and the characters from the OG novel are able to go their proper ways and get their just rewards (thankfully there's nothing extreme like death, r@pe, those unbelievable things). Of course, I would've liked to know where OG FL and OG MLs ended up, but in the end they're pretty much irrelevant to our sweet love story so we can just imagine for ourself. And also!!!!! The way it starts with MC saying women need to support women and then living that principle throughout the story????? Iconic, queen behaviour, we have to stan. <<less

The plot is refreshing. It's not like your typical transmigration novel. The FL here is not overshadowed by the ML. (Plus points for that)

The FL has an easy-going attitude; She's funny, witty, lazy and a capitalist.

I like how the FL isn't one of those unreasonable characters that goes, "off with their heads" with just a bit of bump.

... more>> There are also cute interactions between the father and daughter. Her comebacks to her father really made me laugh out loud. The relationship with the stepmom gets better on the later half.

I'd have to say, she can really make people submit with her logic. And I must tell you, her logic seems nonsensical but it somehow all make sense.

The story takes on the legal route wherein there's little-to-none illegal business here.

Spoiler

The only action that you could get here with a bit of bullet firing is the part wherein they're mixed with the Mafia.

[collapse]

Spoiler

She has a system but it's pretty much useless. The system's role here is for just prompting tasks and it mostly triggers when the book protagonists are within range. In the later half, the system becomes non-existent as the story now focuses on the new protagonists. It skipped the book protagonists story, so you won't know much about their lives. The book FL has a bit more exposure with her being the subordinate of our FL.

[collapse]

This isn't a story of how the transmigrator wanted to overthrow the protagonist; on the contrary, the transmigrator just wants to paddle through.

Anyway, I love her and I am a bit sad that I had reached the ending. (The ending isn't sorrowful or anything, the ending line is funny - well, for me it was) <<less

I'd like to give this more than 3 stars because the dialogue was witty and the relationships endearing, but I place great importance on plot and worldbuilding, and the gaps in this area are too big.

Here is a short list.

Spoiler

1. System abruptly disappears without event or explanation. For something that was such a huge threat at the beginning, enough to force MC to attempt su*cide over and over in rebellion, to evaporate without so much as a squeak... I have no words.

2. MC's 'death' and revival not explained. System has the power to reload files from MC's multiple su*cides in the early stage. So what the heck happened when she got shot with a gun? Why no retcon?

3. No explanation or follow up to the abduction and attempted mu*der event.

4. 'Mosaic' was not explained. Why 'mosaic' had to be eliminated so urgently was also not explained.

5. Where did original owner of body go? Also, did she spring from the earth? No mother is mentioned ever.

6. ML of original novel simply vanished after a while. No resolution.

7. Bodyguard search plotline returned at a super weird timing for a gimmick, then the character is never mentioned again.

8. Hu Dong faceslapping plotline failure.

9. Transmigration has no logic. Super wasted opportunity.

10. Task completion rewards have no logic. Effects are also still in place long after system and system tasks disappear. Why?

11. Halo visualisation can be inherited???

[collapse]

I think it's ok to while away time on something of this level once, but it's clearly not a very conscientiously written thing. I know I won't remember this novel after a week. 3 stars. <<less

Pre-Review Notes: (Chapter 133 is actually ~73 of the actual chapter list)

  • FL is full of nonsense - in a good way! She really doesn't take anything seriously and is full of inspiring words.
    • Part of that comes from the fact that she treats the world like a game (making money, not thinking about npc's, etc)
    • I was scared she was going to fall into the usual 'evil female lead' trope but after she continually jumps from a building, she basically refreshes her role into a 'domineering president.' It's hilarious. Honestly a face slap to the system (which is barely there, and in the background).
    • She can go on tangents during interviews but I really like her motivational speaking style. She's witty and isn't afraid to poke fun at people - even herself. Honestly I would style her as 'chaotic good, ' lol.
  • ML is a capable secretary (although technically he's pretty much the CFO of their company)
    • I'm excited to learn more about him. At first FL doesn't think much of him because he has the "Passerby" halo but him and his mom become her friends in this transmigrated world. He also figures out himself how her soul is different from the og soul.
    • He's super supportive of the FL, but he also disagrees with her. Their banter is pretty cute and silly.
  • So far the plot has been about her making money through her knowledge of the entertainment industry. She does the entertainment bit, the ML does the finance bit. True power couple.
    • The latest chapters have been about game dev so the author manages to insert a gaming arc lol.
    • Sometimes the netizen comments can go on for a while though.
  • Translations are pretty good, and the translator includes background information on phrases and references. Only extra comment I'd have to say is skipped chapter parts near the beginning, which people comment on.
  • The romance is slow-progressing but omg they're so shippable. I just really like their back-and-forth. Both leads are hilarious in different ways (but FL tops it for being so shameless). I feel like ML is more on the soft side (unless you cross the FL, and then he becomes sharp). Sometimes they have vulnerable conversations together and it's really heart-warming.
  • FL definitely has rah-rah girl energy where she does what she wants and says what she wants. We stan a queen.

A really good read!

For one, the FL is hilarious. I read the other reviews and saw that this was the consensus, and while it took me awhile to see the humor, there were many parts I laughed at. FL is truly argumentative and witty; her logic never fails to make people speechless, even the reader! It reveals great character writing (for all characters) on the part of the author and translator.

There is little (angsty romance) drama - hardly melodramatic and the plot revolves mostly around making money and FL's personality... more>> and witty/shameless interactions with other characters. I was not super invested in the beginning of the novel, but as the plot picks up, it becomes interesting and I was satisfied to see the

FL overcome the first hurdle of the "original novel's ML" so quickly and progress into establishing herself.

[collapse]

Despite the focus being more on money making, as a romance novel fanatic, my favorite part was the slow burn. The progression of romantic interest felt natural and gradual; it wasn't forced. ML and FL's interest in each other and the slow growing tension from tolerance to love was subtle, but obvious enough that it did not come as a complete surprise.

In terms of the readability of the novel, there were certain times I had no idea what the idioms meant in the context of the novel, even with the translator's insertion of it's meaning so that may come as an annoyance to some readers, but I don't think it takes much away from the novel.

I do agree with some reviews that say the novel starts dragging around chapter 250. You can start to feel the novel's pace slow down as it reaches it's resolution. <<less
