BL, Hot and Capable Seme, Elegant Uke, Brain-damaging conclusions, gores and horror, and a unique overall plot = PERFECTION

I didn't have a lot of expectations in the beginning, but this may just be one of my favourite webnovels of all time. I dare say that it can reach the level of Global University. Yes, it's that good.

MC and ML are in the same body. We are introduced to the two personalities Xie Chi and Xie Xinglan at the beginning. I had been pretty skeptical about reading it, I mean, isn't it the same as many other mediocre stories which incorrectly portray mental illnesses to add that little... more>> bit of glamour and 'uniqueness' to their story?

Can you see my face now? It's swollen, my face was slapped so hard.

I have never read a better representation of DID in any bl webnovel. I mean, yeah, many things were fantastical, but it wasn't because of the lack of knowledge on the author's side. I'm not sure if it counts as a spoiler, but

Everything was so well researched that I was awed by the prowess of the author.

I am glad that I read this novel. The characters can be called op, but the villains are not anything to scoff at either. The antagonists actually have brains, and I could sympathise with many of them. There was a cause and an effect for every single thing that happened. The plot was so well designed that it had fewer plotholes than expected. Not everybody can pull off this kind of story.

The movie emperor was a movie emperor because he had the skills to prove. I will go as far as to say, that if they hadn't been so cruel, sacrificing a lot of important things just for their dignity or wishes, then the antagonists also had a chance to win. This is the kind of tension I want. I like my characters op, but I also don't want them to get everything so easily that the story loses its charm.

The best part of the story? It's the fact that characters weren't dumbed down just to make the MC seem smart. The MC didn't seem smart, he was smart. One of the smartest MCs I've had the pleasure to read about, in fact.

The side characters were delightful. They were 3D, with a will and characteristics of their own. MC's friends weren't damsels in distress waiting for him to save them, and there was no dog blood drama. The side CP is heartwarming.

Not to mention the hilarious paradox caused due to the app and wishes....... Shen Yi was Xie Chi's father due to donating his sperm/genes for XC's birth, but SY himself had the genes taken from XC's previous incarnation aka the demigod. They are each other's father and son. This is absolutely hilarious. Talk about weird relationships haha

The translator, Rainbowturtle doesn't disappoint. Their translations are great and even though there are small mistakes and typos here and there, it's a delight to read such high quality tls.

Thanks a lot for bringing this story into my life. Apart from enjoying the moments of reading it, I also experienced a lasting impact brought about due to the message hidden in this book. It's very thoughtful and almost turned my smooth brain into a smoothie haha. <<less

Not going to lie, I came in with a lot of assumptions that this would be screwy and cringe because of the falling in love with my split personality, but like its one of the best parts of this novel.

I've read wayyyyy too many unlimited horror flow novels with simple and idiotic arcs, but this is sooooo much better. Every arc is brilliantly thought out and well explained (kudos to the author and translators for the absolute big brain they have had to write/translate this holy crap). There are great... more>> twists that you totally could have guessed (if you are big brain, I'm not, so I hugged Xie Chi's big thigh ;-;). The twists and turns OUTSIDE of the app are incredibly enjoyable. They contribute so much to the world building and establishment of the app and its power that im very shook that this was possible in just 184 main story chapters (not including extras).

The character development/writing: absolutely IMMACULATE. There are none of the blindly and absurdly s*upid character. Every single person that has any role is developed and is connected to their archetype without being too stereotypical. The antagonists are smart but also have the fallacies just like the main team of characters. While Xie Chi and Xie Xinglan are OP, there is reason for it instead of the plot armor that is "because they're the MCs".

The themes and ideas are deeply developed without being in your face about it. Everything is taking place at just the right time and is so impactful because of it.

Also side note:

- This novel is absolute crack at some points but its such a good break from the high stress horror arcs.

- While it is unlimited flow horror, the horror really isn't there just because of how well the plot is broken down and defeated (not best word oof) (if you want really suspenseful horror read something like My House of Horrors that sh*t made me have nightmares on how well the horror and suspense was written shite off track)

- The side couple dropped pretty late into the game but they are SO CUTEEEEEEE!!!!!!

- Ngl I defo cried at like a few points but its not too sad (I can already see the angst fics for *bleeeeeeeeepppppppp* <<less

Admittedly the first time I read the synopsis, I was a bit weirded out because how do you even fall in love with a split personality??? But then I read it and my three views refreshed and I have been enlightened.

... more>> And not even in a weird, cringe way. On the contrary, it feels very real and acceptable how they fell for each other and have almost unconditional trust.

MC and ML are stronger than most newbies but they have their own limits and was not at all unbelievable. They didn’t unnecessarily become famous overnight— They think for themselves and is also susceptible to assumptions (they aren’t perfect but very logical!!). Even if this is a horror novel and mostly fiction, the two of them (and the other characters) are very well-rounded and their actions conform with human emotions and are very relatable.

People who oppose them aren’t all idiots either and it is seen how the author tried (and succeeded) to have the characters think in accordance with the personalities they have been given. They were obviously also investigating the movie plot and not carelessly pitting the MC with every chance they’ve got.

and speaking of movie plot!!!

Every arc so far was ingenious and it was both a breath of fresh air, though thrilling. The arcs were very unique from all others I’ve read and the scenes aren’t hard to follow. On the contrary, the author explained it VERY well I felt like my IQ went up a bit (but it’s likely just the great story-telling and translation). Many times I’ve experienced agreeing to the audience comments and being swayed by the intriguing plot! Like damn, My family’s Xiao Chi is so smart and the plot investigation is very thorough.

Author also explained how other people could’ve completed the movies even if they did not progress the same way as how XC have done it (because he’s really been acting so rare at you’ll kinda feel sorry for us normal people ah, how can I survive in this way I’d rather hug a thigh. Xie Chi’s thigh to be exact)

One thing I have to say first and foremost:
After reading this novel, I don't think I can read other supernatural instances novels anymore! I would think that other protagonist are honestly just playing around... or even lackluster, compared to the MC in this novel QAQ

This novel deserves the title as the best Supernatural World Hopping Protagonist! If in the Quick Transmigration department, the best novel and protagonist there is Don't Pick Up Boyfriend from The tr*shbin, then in the Supernatural World Hopping department this novel is on the same position, the top dog!

Two of the most important thing that attracted a novel for me are, a good protagonist, and a good plot. This novel surprisingly fall into those two category exactly!

I don't have to explain the personality of the MC, because I think words are superfluos. Just like the brand of "calm protagonist" could be stamped everywhere, but there is only so much of the really fall into the calm category, the other words are also superficial and honestly... cheap.

There are a lot of novels out there that boasted their protagonist as calm one, cunning one, smart one, etc, but the reality they're fall short on the title itself due to many factors. The biggest factor usually came from the author themselves. Most of those novels portrayed the protagonist very well in the early chapter, thus gaining the attention of the reader. However, many authors couldn't resist the temptation of creating a drama, forgetting the character setting for the sake of drama, or perhaps for the sake of lengthening the chapter count to make more money, and in the end the quality of those protagonist fall sharply.

This novel, from start to end, I have to give a praise to the author because she/he really didn't disappoint the reader. The protagonist didn't experience any event that makes his character setting fall. From the beginning to the end, the reader could only fall deeper and deeper towards the protagonist. For me, this is very fascinating.

I don't need superficial words to describe the protagonist, I only need to say that the protagonist is, ABSOLUTELY CHARMING!

Regarding the plot, I have to give it a good review as well.

Even from the premise of the novel, from the very setting of the MC and ML, this novel is already very fascinating. Honestly, the fact about multiple personality having the identitiy of the lover is not uncommon. Sometimes one person even harbor the complete family of father, mother, sister, husband, etc in one body due to the trauma of not having a family etc that the mental patient endure, etc. Even so, the fact that this idea was put into a BL horror movie is UNCOMMON! It's truly a surprise, and very interesting.

The plot in the horror instances that this novel has are also very interesting. The ideas of horror are taken from many genre, from Chinese folks horror, even to Japanese folks horror, to the very popular Western horror. I have read many other supernatural world hopping novel, and there's something that I am always disappointed about them, that is the lack of ideas. The horror instances really felt like a cheap horror game instances I downloaded in my phone, and one after another repeating themselves from one novel to another. This novel succesfully create a different ideas, combining the horror with the action survival games. It's honestly more intriguing and give different taste for the reader.

Lastly, every instances in this novel leave no plot holes! Even the plot in the instances was meticulously weaved, one by one, leaving no plot h0les and dissatisfaction for the reader.

Wooooow?!?! I did not expect it to be this good! Read up until the latest finished arc all in one go.

It was just, not what I expected for some reason. And for once, the game isn't plotting to kill all its players or something like that. It's so refreshing to find a logical game system for once! Aaaah reading it is just the right balance of action, horror, sweetness and slight comedy. I'm glad I finally jumped onto this bandwagon 🥳

I don't know what the take is on multiple personality disorder, and what the idea of consciousness is but after reading this novel I was thinking: 2 personalities in one body, could it be possible it's not a personality but 2 souls? I'm not really sure on that, but I feel that this entire story is more about the plot than anything else and any reviewer that focused on reviewing the relationship is missing the key takeaway here. 'To proceed onwards is to head towards hell, going down is the only way to happiness.' Although the direct translation is not good, I think this novel fully encapsulates that. <<less

This is such an interesting novel. It's not like your conventional world hopping story, the protagonist and ML are so freaking awesome. I'm a sucker for doting ML and I swoon every time he comes out. You will never get bored reading this, each world was carefully written, and the materials the author draws from and they interweave them in the story is pretty cool.

I really love this! I don't usually read Chinese novels but this one was super good and just s**ked me in! Just a warning, there isn't much gore or suspense regarding the MC's life. It's just full of mystery and the supernatural.

• MC Xie Chi is breathtakingly smart and isn't just a damsel in distress.

• The ML had a lot to do with the plot, in some arcs he was involved more, but he mostly silently appeared and disappeared. The author pulls this unique situation off by adding some dog food and keeping the couple hyper focused on each other. Their relationship is already developed and you never see any big fighting between them.

• The plot is based on the MC wanting a body for the ML. The MC gets involved with an app that puts the MC in horror movies, ghost watch them, and a mysterious organization. Along the way he makes new friends and finds out concerning information but never forgets his original goal. <<less

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind OP characters as long as the story is amazing and side characters leave a strong impression. As I continue to read the story, this 'intelligent' MC is an awesome character but in some thought-provoking situations that are common sense, the writer over-hypes it to the point that it now seems ridiculous.

Also later in the story he becomes too OP to the point where the supporting characters that were consistently powerful are suddenly annoyingly dumb and weak in front of the MC. The killings... more>> in this story are senseless, especially when you are not associated with the MC or simply dislike him. The world REALLY revolves around him. It can be very irritating at times.

But on a positive note, the world in the story is amazing and very original; sometimes there are arcs that are interesting, others boring, and there are parts that are prolonged and repetitive. I had to read till the end because the couple's relationship is... unique. I love their dynamic relationship. They carried the entire story and I loved every bit. I really enjoyed reading this one. The relationship was really interesting and unexpected, and it was a really fun read. If you want a lot of romance, then I probably would not recommend this one, but if you're looking for a novel that has unique relationships and lots of action, then this one is a good choice. 100% recommend. I love this novel!!! It has constant surprising plot development and just when you think everything is explained there is something new that clears up plot holes that were teased. Keep a watchful eye because any information given actually can be a clue even when it seems irrelevant.

I always tend to avoid stories with DID as I always end up falling for sub Personalityand then suffers from 2nd lead syndrome....... still traumatized. So when my friend recommended me to read this saying the Sub Personality is the ML, I decided to give it a try. ML is indeed the sub Personality but also MC's sub Personality....... LOL...... the level of Narcissism is unbeatable.

I really like the story. Very intriguing, though some arc are simple and plain but has dept and Beautiful meaning. The MC is too damn OP, Smart and lucky and usually I always end up falling for sub Personality but here the main Personality shine.

One of the cons of this novel for me is that MC is too damn Smart, Lucky and OP. I do love OP Smart MC but especially when there is equally OP Smart Opponent. ... more>>

Here MC is too smart and OP that it make me feel amazed and want to worship him but also make other Characters look so dull. He's always the one to find the clue, he's the one to solve the game while others are all being dumb and either waiting for MC evaluation or doing dumb sh*t (tho some do contribute on fight but it always only MC taking lead and others following him, like they won't have survived if it wasn't for MC). sometimes it makes me wonder how did they survived in the app so far, especially the Higher tier actor. Honestly I would love to see everyone finding clues and contributing together to clear up the movie (even if not everyone, at least MC group) and not Every freaking arc being solved by MC and others just ridding with him. This would be more interesting.

Also He's indeed damn lucky, Entering into movies which kind of directly and indirectly end up helping him. It's to the point that I even suspected the APP SYSTEM is being favour toward MC and want him to survive and be alive, despite MC reminding us again and again that APP is neutral...... as if.

At first, App clearly forbids actor Killing each other directly or else the consequences will be faced. but as we go higher level, the restrictions is not important anymore. No one giving damn sh*t about it. Higher level actor Killing each other and not facing any consequences, like what really going with that restrictions rule. Did the author changed it half way or actually forgotten about that shit. Our MC has been Killing other actors indirectly so I can see why he faced no consequences but what about other actors?? They all fine tho. Though later they explaned app reason to forbids actor Killing each other but still why ain't the actors facing consequences for breaking rules.

It was good, not too difficult nor too smart so you can’t follow! 4/5

1. Plot: The plot was good, it follows two characters mainly Xie Chi (XC) who’s a horror artist wishing for his split personality Xie Xanglang (XX) to have a body. His wish is relatively cheap and he is smart so it starts off easy, while audience (ghost) starts warming up to him. He quickly clears the first movie and starts understanding hierarchy and how the app actually works.

   He finds out that Shen Yi (SY) is the movie emperor who has been in the app for over a year. He’s intrigued but his wish is relatively cheap so he doesn’t bother, until people from PET start gunning for him, organisation with superior genes of demi god seem to be in a good majority of the app as their creator also once went inside the app and wished for the said modification with demi god genes. SY is also a 0 gen pet while XC is 1st. Technically SY is his father as he provided sperm although in the end that reveals to be false and the opposite is proven, when near the end XC gains his previous memories and realise he’s the first movie emperor and the one closest to the demi god. It’s a fun secret and a plot twist

   It’s a fun story, with horror elements that ARE pretty good. Some say that the movies are not horroresque nor gory enough and it gets boring with an op MC, but this is not true. The mansion arc with the chef is pretty gory! The horror element comes in most movies, and obviously its not too scary since MC is a literal horror painter, this stuff doesn’t scare him as a normal person. There are several arcs, divided by movies in which he play.
2. Main Couple: They’re very cute, of course its hard to have a couple who can’t physically touch each other majority of the novel but it still works well. They both have strong sides so they rely on each other and that also brings them closer. Since they’re a couple since the beginning, the novel relies more on plot, but we still get sweet moments like the living hell arc.

   I do find it funny that near the end, when we find out that XX is actually just a split version of XC that he wished for to the app, since he only loves himself and trusts himself. Self love on another level lol.

3. Side Couple: It wasn’t that prominent in the novel, and the start was very rocky, you start disliking SY with the way he treats Su Su! Whatever you think what you doing is right, doesn’t give him redemption of treating Su Su like a one night fling. I liked the couple a bit more near the end but still, SY did improve yet he still never said sorry for treating Su Su like his dirty secret even if it was for protection!
4. Side Characters: Most of them had personality like Ren Ze (RZ), although I find it weird how Ren Ren only appeared for a little time and never again lol. Also Lu Wen, I thought he was gonna be constant but then he disappeared, but I think cause he went back to his world. Sadly we only got Yu Xiaoxiao near the end, but she was also fun, although a bit one dimensional at times. Also his agent, the one without sight (Forgot his name) He was fun in the beginning but he became almost non existent, although its cause XC went into movies one after another and never had time to interact with those outside.
5. Movies: I liked how a lot of movies seem bland and typical but always have a much deeper meaning, and sometimes only XC can uncover this and create a new path and ending. They’re not complicated, but you sometimes feel like the ghosts who always seem dumbfounded loool, although they also provide explanation sometimes. The movies are naturally horror but they all have premise of (there’s a thing wanting to kill you, so survive until the end). A bit boring, but MC himself says that the horror movies are like this in real life. All movies in the novel are with either Zombies or Ghosts, but mostly Ghosts since MC unlocks better options with them. The reason they’re just these two has got to with what he started, there’s more premises but he just got stuck with those and decided they fit him lol.

A good plot with + super unique paring = amazing story!
The paring is so unique, they are so adorable and respectful to each other. MC is sooo smart!! I love him so much. He had never failed me ❤️. ML is so sweet and strong. Overall amazing couple.
The story was nice and it didn’t make the MC ooc to make problems at all. He stayed true to his character and he delivered. He was such a good character. Probably one of my favorite character of all time. Plus all the face slapping he did was sooo nice to read!

The only thing I didn’t care for was the other paring. It didn’t really benefit the story or intrigued me. They both seem too forced to be memorable. I skipped their extra.

It was an amazing read. I admit that at first I was skeptical because of the synopsis and how the romance is described, and I even ignored this novels several times because I thought this would a weird one. Luckily, I got extremely bored and decided to try it out because of the high reviews and boy did I regret not reading it sooner.

The translation is pretty good which helped me understand the plot and made me understand how amazing the MC's IQ is.
