Xiao YuAn transmigrated into a novel as the homos*xual young Emperor imprisoning the Male Lead of a Stallion Novel.

This is indeed miserable, and sad.

Because of this, Xiao YuAn began to work hard to survive.

But!

“To those cannon fodders, even if you want to treat the Male Lead bad, can you stop sending him to my bed?” Xiao YuAn thinks that there’s nothing wrong in pampering the Male Lead, but that’s just because he wants to bathe in the Protagonist halo!

Xiao YuAn: “Don’t abuse the Male Lead ever again!!! You guys aren’t afraid of death, but I want to live!!!”

A story that starts out with the Shou taking care of the Gong, and then, the Gong takes care of the Shou.

LET ME SEND BLADES TO AUTHOR!!! This is so tear jerking and angsty. ML and MC really needs to get a break and the side characters are just as unfortunate!!!

That being said, its very wholesome. ML is the overbearing r*pey type of ML in other stores and MC isn't the type to play weak every single second. Sure he's kinda dumb (very dumb at times) but his reactions are pretty realistic to what a normal person being transmigrated would do. Blockhead with relationships but honestly I've seen worse from straight... more>> guys so its sort of realistic too??? <<less

A pretty decent novel.

The base is stable overall, but I'm going to nitpick at a few things out that I dislike. I wasn't fully immersed in it, but it's still good.

  • PLOT : President of a company commits su*cide and gets transmigrated into a book's gay emperor. Unsurprisingly, MC Xiao Yu'An has already read the book before and strives to survive due to the future of the plot where the Northern Kingdom gets annihilated by the protagonist - in this case, the ML. The story is woven pretty well, and the plot is promising and although it is something often found in other novels, it's still enjoyable.
  • CHARACTERS : Here is where the problems lie. I have barely any problems with the ML, since he's a well-written character, but the MC is just kind of... dumb. I'm rating this four stars because it is kind of cute and funny when he is being s*upid, but it's also frustrating. Like, come on.
    Spoiler

You'd think that MC would finally realize that ML likes him when he gave his mother's hairpin (that he treasures very much so, btw) to MC. But nooo, he still can't get it through that brain of his, pft.

    [collapse]
MC also has some unquestionable need to follow the storyline exactly, going as far as to put ML with other female cannon fodders (which doesn't work cuz he gay my dude). The side characters except for a few were forgettable, and it seems as if everyone is dumb to make MC look a little smarter, esp the night duty guards lmao. However, the side couples are sweet and I had a good time reading about them.
  • ROMANCE : MC only realizes ML's feelings when the latter confesses, but even before that, both of them had a fair share of dog-food-in-your-face moments. It's not really a slow burn, although they don't make it official until later. They both take care of each other very well and would do anything for each other (cute). Side couples' romance is also well written and sugary.
  • TRANSLATION : The translation is pretty good, although it is on the simpler and easy-to-understand side, which I don't really prefer. I like reading sh*t that makes my brain hurt like Golden Stage and Wushuang. Translator does a great job, updates on time and the speed of releasing chapters is quick.
It's a good BL and comedic novel, although there are better ones out there. It's a bit faster than a steady-paced novel, but a good read nonetheless. The first few chapters were meh for me but it gets better! :))

The story is very good and realistic. In the story, there is no one-sided character. Each and every character do things with their own agenda and purpose. Like...

Spoiler

Eunuch Zhao who abused the ML in the start turns out to be a very loyal man to the emperor. When the army of the south was nearing the imperial city of the north and all MC's remaining servants and minister abandoned him. He stayed by his side comforted him (mc). He even went to the ancestral temple (if that's what its called) to offer himself as a living sacrifice to the heavens for a single wish to have his emperor (MC) to live a healthy life even if not bask in wealth and power. This truly touched me.

[collapse]

There are also many good side characters around MC who were willing to sacrifice themselves for him and died. It pained me and at the same time made me happy to see this kind of realistic story.

The things that made me deduct 2 stars from the 5 stars:

1.) The constant misunderstanding that makes this story lean more towards drama. I kinda hate this kind of drama where both MC and ML always assume what the other thinks without even talking. I also get the feeling that the author is trying to drag on the story with this constant misunderstanding.

2.) I also hate the way the North country (MC's country) fell. Like a constant avalanche of misfortune just fell from the sky dictating the destruction of the country. Like how the goddess of luck just favoured ML and his country from the drought, to the invasion of the barbarians, to the death of the logistics which carry food to the frontlines due to an avalanche, and the 'coincidental' discovering of the MC's general's plan by the ML seeing a book fall and turning to a certain page giving him a flash of inspiration. It just f*cking destroyed the realism of the story and made me drop this book. I'm sorry but I can't just take this lying where a series of coincidences destroyed the MC's country despite his hard work to try and battle fate itself. I expected some friction and angst from the history and differences of both of their countries. BUT I CAN'T JUST TAKE HOW A COUNTRY WAS DESTROYED IN JUST A FEW CHAPTERS FROM A SERIES OF COINCIDENCES. True the author wants to put forward the plot but THIS IS JUST TOO MUCH. <<less

It's funny, cringey, sad and most importantly, I'm desperately waiting for the next chapter.

Its not that deep type of novel but its fun to read. Full of misunderstanding and the protagonist is such a dense person that makes you want to laugh and be frustrated for the ML.

Good luck ML. 😁😁 Fighting!!!

This novel is truly one of a kind. The author has brought a lot of different, unique and even at times bizarre elements into the plot and somehow it just goes with the flow.

Even though certain aspects (MC's monologues, actions etc) may seem odd at first you later understand why things are written this way. A must read in the bl genre. Am waiting for it to finish

I've never written a review before, but I feel like I had to. First off, I personally LOVE the MC. Some say he was clueless or dumb, but I never once thought of that. The more you read the novel, you really see the MC's true potential. On the other hand, the ML is just adorable, and I just want to protect him. I have yet to finish this novel, but so far, I LOVE this novel so much. *Except the fact that it will make you cry your eyes... more>> out* <<less

After all the angst and bittersweet tears I went through, in the end, it was worth it. The character development was amazing, and I loved how the author ended the story. This story is a real masterpiece and I strongly suggest you read it, I really hope to read this novel again in English. The translation team is doing a great job ^^

In volume 2, the characters get transmigrated back into the modern au. I am so happy that Xiao Yu'an remains having a happy life with Yan Hequing even in the modern world.

This is obviously a good novel thanks to Xiao Yuan but the level of Yan HeQing incompetent in taking care of Xiao Yuan almost infuriate me to death now I just skip a chapter I smell any nonsense

Xiao Yuan took care of him when he was in the northern Yan then when he became emperor he couldn't take care of Xiao Yuan and he almost died at the hands of the eastern general (that general beat the life outta Xiao Yuan and told his people to bury him alive... more>> he survived because they were people he saved during the war) and His uncle Xue Yan made sure he coerced Xiao Yuan who was already feeling extremely guilty into cutting his throat and committing su*cide

You would think that Yan HeQing will assign shadow guards or just extra guards to keep him safe after coming back from the death right

Nonsense at the end Xiao Yuan almost died again this time he got cut on his leg, neck and stomach

I have never seen an incompetent gong in my life until Yan HeQing

How hard is it to protect just one person?

BTW I have read to chapter 207 so you can imagine how annoy this made it <<less

beautiful. Just absolutely beautiful. Stayed up till 10am reading with batted breath and a heavy heart through the angst.

everything was so bittersweet. Every single character's death was impactful, and everyone's reaction to the deaths and tragedy was moving. It was heartbreaking. Cruel. But at the same time, beautiful.

the side couples are the best that ive seen. Honestly, the main couple themselves are amazing and compelling, but to me each character was as significant as the protagonist. It really felt like they were living. breathing. that not even every "villain" could... more>> be described as a one-dimensional evil person that was meant to be punished. Almost every single one was an unfortunate life, despite having done acts that cant be condoned. Still, I loved every bit of it.

its tragic but beautiful. Bittersweet, but not sour. This review is really digressing, but I wanted to express just how much this novel emotionally impacted me.

Spoiler

especially the li x wie side couple. Theyre the cause for like half of my despair but also half of my love for this novel.

[collapse]

on a more rational note, the plot is well-paced and well-written. The MC is likeable, ML is a respectable and loyal man. Some may argue that the MC is an idiot, and I would agree. But that makes him seem even more deep to me, especially when his character is woven into such an angsty story.

this novel didnt treat any life lightly. Whether it be a cannon fodder that could be considered a mini villain, each character was so in depth that even if it may be wishful and naive, I wanted everyone to live.

if fate had been different, if they just hadnt done the wrong thing, maybe it wouldve turned out differently.

all in all, this was a really heavy novel, but was worth every sob and tear. To end on a lighter note, each of the main couple's s*x scenes were described with quite some detail, even if it took so long for them to finally do the deed lol

despite the tragedy, the extras at the end were like bittersweet fruits. The dead characters live again, and I cried everytime one got mentioned again. <<less

I especially liked the beginning. Until they finally got together. This story gave me a great perspective of two countries at war.

I liked that they stood up for their country instead of going for s peaceful approach because that seemed so much realer. I think the way the MC was portrayed was a bit lacking tho. He should have suffered a bit more and maybe shown a bit more hate. Just a bit tho.

I think the way the reincarnation was implied was too obvious so it didn’t seem that sad as he took his life the 2. Time. If they could make it more heartwrenching it wouldve been nice.

it got too fast from pain to Friede freunde Eierkuchen but maybe that’s because I just read it too fast.

There are several times that I've wanted to drop this novel. The MC is really a brain-dead whenever he's with ML.

There are also good points as I didn't expect that the MC would die and had some of ministers. Still it's a HE

DNF:it's just not realistic. After reading ao many transmigration book and seen the MC tires hard to hide himself and still got found out but this guy talk nonsense all day long an it's ok no one suspect anything. Transmigration is not a normal thing I mean you where not even shock that you're still alive nope MC hopes out of bed and get straight into playing the role of the novel. Too unrealistic for me.

I love this novel. It's one of my favorite danmei. If not healthy, then loving relationships abound. A hard-working protagonist. A cast of interesting supporting characters, and solid side pairing (s?).

This novel, of course, has flaws. The humor often falls flat for me since most of the jokes laboriously explain themselves to you. There's a dash of casual ableism (at least I think we're supposed to laugh at the disabled person's actions? It's unclear) in the first few chapters. The plot meanders more than what can reasonably be expected in... more>> a historical setting, but it's still very entertaining and there are some excellent dramatic high points. Just wish the novel had met more of the expectations it set early on. <<less

I really like this because while it plays on the 'ML is destined to be emperor and nothing can stop him!' trope (which I've read so often lately that it's getting a little tiring), it doesn't ever really feel like the ML would choose being emperor over being with the MC and the reason he even sticks with it at all is because of something the MC says before a certain scene.

There are also no scenes (that I can recall) where an advisor tries to convince ML to take concubines... more>> 'for the good of the nation' or whatever, and I really appreciate that. Some officials do try to 'give' him (and MC) people, but they're quickly dismissed.

The MC is very happy-go-lucky while also being prone to extreme depression and I find that really relatable. However, su*cide is a big/reoccurring theme in this story and I think I would recommend skipping if you find that difficult to read about.

Also just a heads-up: this is very comedic most of the time but it's also tragic. The MC and ML have their happy ending, but that doesn't mean that everyone that is introduced will or even that the road is smooth. I think the comedy helped soothe the angst a lot. <<less
