I normally do not leave reviews for poorly translated novels but I really felt this story had potential but the constant switching from 1st to 3rd person makes it nearly impossible to read.
- Main char is simple and naive. The author unfortunately uses that as a crutch some times to bridge occasional unreasonable points. As another user mentioned film the hoard of centipedes or what ever. I don't remember technology not working in the dungeon being mentioned but may have forgotten. The dungeon break would have been recorded and other things that would have gotten him presence but were shoved under the carpet by the author. He should have spent more non dungeon time in the story with the female lead and possibly with further interactions with the sales lady to build a better understanding of what the author was trying to portray.
- the humor in the series goes both ways some as test gags and other as decent parts of the plot. Its not great but is usually in the right places to liven it up.
- there's a fair amount of obvious build up and moderate side build up that is not used making it frustrating for the reader over time. [Authors choice at the end.]
- side char's are well developed and used decently most of the time with occasional flops later on in the book.
- the main story is some what unique as he goes beyond normality and hunts to exhaustion to get strong rather than it just happens. The direction the plot was hinting at is a decent one. The questions the leave behind as to how others will treat him and if he goes his own way how ever are left hanging.
The authors choice to end the web where it is and complete the story in the ln make the series a really frustrating one that most others are going on about. Making a teaser ark like this plus seemingly using it as a testbed makes it hard to be happy about the sieries... more>>
