As one of the first players to gain access to World of Falan—the first immersive game worldwide—Roland creates his character as a Mage.

However, playing as a Mage is not as fun and easy as he thought. His head even explodes after he casts the very first spell in the game.

Stubbornly sticking to his class when most Mages decide to create a new character, Roland gradually discovers tricks of the trade and his unusual talent. This allows him to change people’s stereotypes on Mages and to explore the deeply-buried secrets of this game…

It was an enjoyable read. The author adeptly fulfills their role, crafting a storyline with a well-balanced plot and pacing—neither too slow nor too fast. The backgrounds of supporting characters are adequately explained within the context of the storyline. However, there are a few unanswered plot holes, such as:

Spoiler

1. Who is the planet guardian friend?
2. Where is the last seed located?
3. Why did Loltry, the god of spiders, appear near the end and seemingly steal divine sparks from the goddess of life?
4. What happened to the goddess of life's clone in the game when the main character promised to save her?
5. Where is Betta, and what is the relevance of the spatial portal appearing at the car crash scene? Additionally, what is the significance of the egg Roland took from the ant hole?

[collapse]

Despite these plot holes, it's refreshing to read a novel that deviates from the common cliches found in other works, particularly the absence of an excessively arrogant young master.

The author excels at creating conflict and introducing unexpected twists, keeping readers engaged and defying predictions.

However, the ending feels rushed, lacking proper closure for the enemy invasion unless the author intends to create a sequel.

Another perspective to understand the workings of the Game Cabin is to envision the world of Falan as a virtual reality game, accessible to both Earth humans and original citizens of the World of Falan while they sleep.

I went into this with the low expectations of this being simply a long power fantasy to pass the time. I was hoping it would have an interesting magic system and good world-building, while turning off my brain at least, but there is such bad writing that it is just infuriating to ignore.

Whenever a woman is involved in the story it is either: As a woman... all women are <insert sexist stereotype here>. Therefore she is <insert sexist stereotype here>. To justify the woman's terrible choices in the story.

Meanwhile, when... more>> a woman is talked about from the MC's view, the MC just goes on a rant comparing how sexy different women are from another. Also somehow all women and men have a consensus on which women are the sexyists in this universe, which is a little weird.

Also, you get weird quotes like this:
Spoiler

"

It was decided by DNA that women worshiped strong males, for a better future for their offspring.

In the information age, money meant power, so women loved those who were rich. It was their natural instinct and sense of responsibility for their children, which had nothing to do with morals or dignity.

Roland, with his powers, was a real strong man at this moment.

Therefore, even though it was the first time she had seen Roland, and even though she didn't really have any feelings for him, she subconsciously wanted to give birth to a stronger child because of her DNA.

"

As for the magic system itself, the concept of it being related to math was interesting. Except, that is the only thing we as the audience are told. The author tends to get lazy on this part and does not do a good job of explaining the math behind the magic system, it is not even pseudo-math. Usually, the MC just works hard for the magic, and through :"modern concepts" makes the spells. Which, to be fair is fine in a softer magic system, it is just a bit underwhelming with such an interesting concept.

On the other hand, the world building aspect with the typical idea of bringing modern concepts into a feudal society does bring some interesting points. But that is looked at at a very surface level since the majority of the time is taken by the MC's pseudo-math studies.

Overall I recommend reading instead the Legendary Mechanic or The Lord of Mysteries. The world-building and magic system is much more fleshed out, along with better writing in general. <<less

I thought this novel was quite good when it started. Not too rushed in giving power to the MC, had some good bits of emotions and looked like a refreshing read.

Except, it wasn't. Everything good about the novel slowly bleeds out as the story continues.

In the first 100 chapters, the MC was still thinking about not being able to be with someone who he wouldn't be able to be with forever. But then he's pulling the dumb card and is acting like he can't open his mouth to refuse the... more>> women now. And of course, it becomes a harem situation.

There weren't really any other good or likable characters. A lot of them were really just cardboard cutouts with labels slapped onto them.

The world building felt a bit mature at first until the characters started talking like they just learned about s*x and wants to show off their newfound knowledge to look cool. It's just distracting and dumb when some old dude talks about how he banged a tree lady as if it's normal conversation with someone you're meeting for the first time. The over-sexualization of everything just brings the novel down into the abyss. The women especially were grating to read. 90% of the time, they were just there to be a piece of ass for the author to add some adjectives on. Occasionally they'll give their stuff out to the MC so that there'll be an illusion of advancement.

The plot also felt directionless. It felt like reading the same generic XianXia plot that I've read for a hundred times.

The magic learning side of things got slow and eventually started to be dragged on the ground. I suppose it was an attempt to slow down the progression so that the MC didn't just leave everyone behind but the gaping hole left by it just wasn't filled up with anything interesting.

It could have been great, awesome even. Just, wasn't. <<less

Don't miss out on this novel, there are a lot of dumb negative reviews by lackwits and cucks.

I understand some people are upset that it ended, but things have to end somewhere. I hope the author makes a sequel though

Genius + OP MC. Really cool magic system where the MC researches and invents new spells.

Sadly this novel is filled with h**ny women trying to seduce the MC.

Romance: none for now, but the MC clearly thinks about having s*x with various characters + some kind of r*pey stuff he does.

The book started out Amazing... The magic was in depth and thought out. Then came the Harem. The last 200 chapters were just thrown up against a wall in a rush to complete something. Plot lines were forgotten, characters destroyed, and the entire thing set up to be part 1 of a series. That being said, I was invested enough to read the whole thing, and still want to know what would have happened next, but as is, the ending is garbage.

Disappointing. Don't read. Giant plotholes that aren't resolved by the end.

It started out with decent potential, solid world build (this is what hooked me), some humor and an interesting mystery.

But around 500 chapters in it throws everything away.

Before that everything felt like it was building up to something but after that the author kinda just gave up. Every good thing just became a side story to the MC's harem. And the way women are written towards the end is just really gross. It gets so sexist I felt like I... more>> was talking to my grandpa. I get that there were sexist elements before but they were just at regular Asian culture level at first, then they got to incel level. And as the sexist elements increased it just became a lazy harem, the MC got more unreasonably aggressive, and he got shounen protag density when before he understood women's emotion. Overall I'm just sad after reading the end cause I had so much hope for the series and they just spat in my face for hoping. <<less

Agree with above post....

The story is actualy good and has it's strong point, but somehow the MC character is started to changed and the ending is so abrupt
Spoiler

somehow all 777 chapter adventure story in the game is just a dream of parallel world

[collapse]

Pro

    • The world building is good and has quite the potential. it could be a long 2000th chapter novel rather than just only this 800th
    • The mage system is good
Con

    • Bad ending
      Spoiler

(though it's kinda expected since Roland only need level 15 to be Legendary, maybe the author also run out of idea to pursue because only demigod and god level left, while after he god the Floating City he already became semi demigod)

      [collapse]
    • MC character changes in the near end of the novel
    • Love story beside w/ all the females are kinda suck
      Spoiler

maybe Andonara a bit better one but there's no reason and it's too fast/weird for
Sophie and Elyse to fall in love w/ Roland

The ending is too rush. You know something went wrong there as there are many unfinished story. Maiden of pain, winterwolf race, cat people, antis becoming king, and so on. Don't know if author suddenly cast a fail s**en to magic spell and got s**en to his head. Suddenly have relationship with goddess or maybe Vivian in real life messed up author in real life that's why few years pass in game.

I like the world building and story concept thou. Good starting, plot contend but bad ending. Everything is good until chapter 777.

3/5 star. Minus 1 star for bad ending. Minus another star for s**en got into author's head

It is a very good novel and with incredible potential, but WTF this ending ??? The author basically dropped the story in half of it.

It was an incredible read, unfortunately I can't recommend it to anyone because it doesn't have a real ending, the author just created some ending and abandoned the story. In fact it would have been a great ending to a season or arc, I still hope the author will decide to write part two someday.

After reading a few chapters, I realized that this novel is the prequel of another Novel from this Author "Noble Emblem" with Beta as MC.

I've read Noble Emblem before I read this Novel.

I think this novel is good.

I liked the beginning. I don’t know how long the author will be able to balance on the strange main character, but I hope for a long time. ... more>>
Spoiler

I categorically disagree with how the author manages the knowledge of the main character, similar to the fantasies of a little girl from a wealthy family about the structure of the world order. Of the 500, 000 or 50, 000 (I did not understand) players... the author believes that there are no maniacs, killers, rapists, ganibals, crazy ones. Only the rational fertility of mankind, with which it helps to become stronger, so that they protect the world... Of course, all the scum themselves would have guessed sooner or later, but it simplifies the task for many, so kindly saving them time. What a good guy, the author will certainly not allow, on the other end of the continent, or even in another city, which pyromaniac to destroy and burn out settlements, together with the inhabitants, with the help of a fireball...
