The tavern owner’s son, Ilya, often experienced the same dream. A dream in which he played in the village orphanage with his childhood friend, a boy whose appearance resembled an angel’s. Surprisingly good!

I cannot stress enough how much I adore this short novel. I feel giddy (in a good way) just thinking about how wholesome this was! There was not much angst here, which I already expected. What I didn't expect was for me to really feel satisfied after finishing the story. I don't think this will ever be your cup of tea if you love a rigorous plot. However, if you want to chill for a bit, I heavily recommend this.

Not so much word building, but more so in the... more>> emotional factor.

After all, the hero was left traumatized after his childhood friend died fighting the demons. I don't think I'm using the correct word here so please excuse my bad wording. The story revolved around how to mend ML's, broken heart (maybe), and his mental health.

I have a hard time giving a spoiler without giving too much because the story is too short, to begin with. Anyway, I like the present meeting between the two. It was just right, no in-between drama. I guess you could say this brief story is more of a summary. The author could easily go in-depth details but perhaps decided not to. <<less

Chapter 20

This novel expresses that the title of hero isn't honourable, but a burden. It's a disgusting plan god made for ML (and MC), who had to lose his most precious person (as foretold in a wretched oracle:

"The blonde, red-eyed Hero Allen is at the orphanage in Tobol Village."

... more>> from that god) to turn into a person that killed the demon king and his army.

Allan (=shou) was an optimist and always thinks positively, he had hero qualities like he was strong, gentle, and brave. He always protected and took care of the fellow children of the orphanage. After his death and rebirth he is called Ilya

Riley (=gong) (has blonde hair and red eyes) was kindhearted, peace loving and timid, he became twisted after his childhood friend sacrificed his life in order to protect him, living only for revenge and spreading Allan's name.

Riley: "If there were someone fit to be called a hero in this world, such a person would be no other than Allen. When death was before one's eyes, begging to be spared was a thing of certainty, no matter who or what held the executioner's blade.

No one could die protecting someone with a smile on their face. No one other than Allen."

This story isn't much about plot and the side characters are forgettable (at first. In the latter chapters/extras we get to know + a side story of a knight that helped Riley become the hero). The story mainly focuses on the emotions between MC and ML like emotions of fear, terror, guilt, rage, anger, love.

After reconciling they talked about MC's encounter with death and the resulting trauma it caused ML, apologized to each other, and laid bare their feelings for each other (after MC finally found out he liked ML more than a childhood friend).

Homosexuality is forbidden in their country by religious beliefs and seen as sin. But our CP doesn't let that stop them.

General thoughts: Very cute and short. The characters are likable and instead of focusing on dragging the conflict and misunderstanding, they almost completely cut it out in favor of cute and pretty well written s*x scenes.

Oh god I hate the goddess so much, I actually don't at all like the trope of character death for the growth of the main character, but I suppose good stories can't be made without some angst. Thankyou author for touching the broken person's heart. I love how he calls his friend Ilya and not Allen. Sure the story is a bit rushed since it is a short series, but I think the emotions have been captured pretty well. And I also like how Allen is not Yandere just broken,... more>> I was kind of worried after reading the summary. I also enjoyed the details like Ilya's relationship with fire. Really reminds you that he was born a child burdened with the his past life and death. Also the translation is really good thankfully. <<less

It first started promising and interesting but at some point, story felt boring. Eventhough it was a short story, it could have ended even sooner. Smut wasn't that good either but TL is amazing.

second couple that author leave us hanging about, had more tension in my opinion. I can't believe author only wrote 2 chapters about them. I wanted more. Ofc kenneth being my fav character, was another reason I love them.

Short but fluffy!! I love the relationship between the two and how when Ilya had the realization, he went directly for it! No does he like me or does he not like me that stretches for like 20 chapters.

Definitely something I would read again. 💖💖💖

A good story for a chance for this couple to meet again. Riley suffered greatly. It's good that finally he met MC and made his cold heart be warm again. A good story about knight/hero/fantasy in finding his light at the end of his journey. Happy ending for them yayyy

I liked this because it was cute and short, but I definitely think it could have been made longer and given more details. There wasn't any real substance. It was mainly a superficial look at the relationship and character without any real character or emotional development. Regardless, the story is sweet and easy to read! The translation is also very good!

I really like how the characters see the burden of being selected to be a hero and the sacrifices they have to go through to save the others. I really like how this story shows the perspective of various characters, which makes it more wholesome as you can learn more about the main couple and see how much everyone care for each other. <<less

one of my new favorite! Just the right amount of fluff, angst and smut.

although I think there was some plot holes, I didn't think much of it because I've been blinded with dog food wwww

i honestly recommend reading this for people who don't like dramas or such things that make you be a second hand embarrassment

Even though I don't want to hope for more extras that may or may not come, I'll still have this in my reading list (◕ᴗ◕✿)

～ (つˆДˆ) つ｡☆The main CP are just... SO f*ckING PRECIOUS!!!!!! I just wanna shower them with all of my love, especially the idea character that had suffered just as much as themmm (≧Д≦)

This was a very light and fluffy read that I thorough enjoyed.

The drama is nonexistent. And the love shown between the two characters is very pure and unconditional. If you're feeling down then give this a quick read because it is sure to fill your heart with sugary feelings of love!!

Short and sweet with just the right amount of angst. The kinda spicy parts surprised me. I didn't think something like that would be written into it.

The pov also alternates between some of the characters, mainly the the ML and our MC.

I wanted to give a 4 star review, but I accidentally cl**ked too early. Well, it was a decent read; I liked the characters and the premise. The relationship between the ML and MC is deep and loving, and it's clear that the ML learned how to think of the MC as his own person instead of the guy he spent the majority of his life mourning over. But, just... isn't the MC too young? I guess that it doesn't count because it's the only way to make the ages... more>> match up reasonably, but he's like 16 or 17, and the ML is almost 30. So, uh, if the age difference doesn't bother you, you'll probably enjoy it. <<less

If you are looking for something light with sufficient skeleton plot, some fluff and some good bittersweet smex, you should pick up this novel. It's a light read, took me 2-3 hrs in total to finish off everything and I even have enough time to reflect on how sweet this was. Someone complained in the reviews that there were too many flashbacks that disrupted the storyline a bit, and I tend to agree at first because I was so anxious about the present, I didn't care about the past. But... more>> the past actually adds more flavour to the present, and adds some bittersweet feelings into their reunion. Ilya and Riley's reunion really choked me up, although I think adding more details to the melancholy could help the readers feel more and relate more as I was struggling to accept that you would easily fall in love with someone who died for you- I wanted more depth in the story (maybe it's because I am so used to complicated danmei novels that dwell and dwell on heartache). I loved how the characters try to reconnect with each other while licking each other's wounds and regrets. The fact that this novel is a multiple POV type also adds a lot of fun for the readers. The novel is overall sweet and leaves a nice feeling at the end. <<less

Honestly, a decent read, but the flash back could get a little annoying at times, I'm glad that the story didn't drag on too long, it was a short and satisfying read if you're bored but other than that there is prob a better bl to read, the last smut scene was satisfying the developing relationship is nothing to be with, you can say Riley character was rinsed and repeat about Allen and how he should have saved him, the trama is basically the fuel to the fire to this... more>> story mention it ever chapters but in other people point of view, I was able to read to the end but it was short and bearable, any longer I would have dropped it.

decent story but I wouldn't rate this story 5 stars but definitely not bad <<less
