It's been a while since I have given five stars in a novel review. But this one really deserves it. It felt so refreshing to read such a realistic relationship development between two consenting adults without any unnecessary emotional drama which is usually typical for Chinese romance novels. The only thing that was unrealistic was the transmigration and rebirth aspect, but obviously that's not a problem as it's the premise of the novel. And while the fast moving pace of the relationship between the FL and ML does give you... more>> a mild case of whiplash, it's not like there are no real stories like that out there in real life where people meet at blind dates and get married fast. Both the FL and ML are mature, level-headed and know what they want so it's pretty smooth sailing between them.

Admittedly, the depiction of their relationship is a bit idealistic. But that's not a problem in my eyes but rather a merit. It gives us readers who are already getting on with the years a sense of yearning for such a stable and mature love. I for one don't have the energy for a drama-filled rollercoaster-like love and would rather die as a single cat lady than to go through that. However, if it was a love like in this novel, stable and comfortable, I wouldn't mind giving it a try. <<less

Ok. A very simple slice of life, if you quit the transmigration details, is a very realistic story. No ups and downs, relationship was stable from the start. Last extra chapter was meh...

The FL in the book world was totally delusional, ML was never interested in her but she misunderstood him, so everything was her fault from the start.

This is gold. The MC and the ML are both so level-headed and rational. They communicate well and their interactions are very cute as they are adults. I always look forward to an update because I want to see how their relationship will progress. Read this if you're looking for something chill to read. :)

I love it. ❤❤❤ This is like my fav pairing. They are both so mature and well, #relationship goals#.

This is it guys, what relationship should be; conversation, trust, and conversation.

Let us take note of this couple and strive for this healthy goal.

Great!! Imo it's more enjoyable than the other stories in this genre. I like how reasonable and clear-headed the MC is; she's not too white lotus, she's not too dramatic, she takes things as they come and is reasonable with her judgement and her feelings. She's quite a mature character; it's been a while since an MC will act her supposed mental age. In most transmigration stories, even if MC was way older she'll still behave like a child. In this story, the relationship progresses slowly and reasonably, with the... more>> interactions of the two characters cautious yet promising. She doesn't fall in love with the handsome and competent man in front of her eyes, she doesn't really scheme or play hard to get.

I'm excited to read on! <<less

I absolutely love this novel!! I especially love how the FL didn't know that she was in a book LOL The interactions between the ML and FL felt very natural from the beginning since they fell in love gradually. Moreover, one thing that I really liked was how the FL immediately blacklisted him at the beginning due to a misunderstanding :p He deserved it imo xD

Just finished the novel by reading via MTL and the novel is good.

The interaction between the MC and ML is sooooo sweet. I really love with the MC personality because she is a decisive character. The chapters are short and not dragging like those novels that have 700++ chaps. Overall, the novel is good, light, sweet, and don't have any that blood-dog drama. Really recommend people to read this one, if you are tired of novels with a lot schemes.

Cute and sweet, but I found it too boring, so far there has been almost no drama, which is almost as bad as too much drama.

I found myself just skimming most of the chapters until the something exciting was happening but then it wouldn’t even last a paragraph.

I can’t say it’s bad but it didn’t grab my interest and just made me a bit impatient

I definitely need a happy medium between this and a novel that has drama every chapter, I just feel that this is trying too hard to... more>> not be a “dog blood” novel which just makes it a bit bland and boring <<less

Desperately dull. Every character in this story feels two-dimensional; they're all boring and one-note. You need more than "Not Dogblood" to have an interesting story, but the only thing this one has to offer is that its MC is "sensible". In reality, she's a Mary Sue. There isn't a single real difficulty put in her path; matters that a more interesting character might have considered a problem (such as her matchmaking mother) which might have needed some kind of actual resolution are just fine with her. I'm not trying to... more>> say that this matter specifically should have been a problem - my issue is that there are no real problems she faces at all! You can write a sensible character with plenty of privilege and still make them interesting by putting them in situations or around other characters where they need to exert themselves in some way and grow or change. There's none of that here.

Pretty much none of the commentary on cliche tropes is at all original or funny; in fact I found it felt patronizing and hypocritical given the misogynistic cliches frequently taken completely seriously by the narrative (women are all vain, can't wear the same dress, etc. - Tired and outdated but frustratingly prevalent). If you're looking for any kind of intelligent satire or sophisticated commentary, you're in the wrong place.

I found myself just sick of reading pretty quickly. Don't waste your time on this. <<less

Fluff.

I wouldn't talk about the main plot where ML and FL meets, FL shows absolute understanding and mature mindset (mind you, a lot of similar shoujo plots have us our hairs tearing), and the happy ending with bare minimum angst.

I will talk about two different side-stories (extras)

First one is where GYC leaves from the first date with Su Rui under the excuse of a meeting (the main plot GYC transmigrates to the novel plot), and the second one is when ML and FL's son transmigrates to the novel world.... more>> These two story showed how utterly unhappy GYC was, kinda making readers feel sorry for him. If you read the main story first and then the extras, then you'll appreciate the happiness and less-drama-plot of the main plot.

All in all, it's a good story <<less

It's nice. That's the best way to describe this story. The relationship seems realistic in a very idealistic way. Idealistic in the sense that the MC and ML are both just so good and healthy in this relationship.

The story is recommended for those that want to read about a romance story.

I just want to address some of the comments I've seen in the chapters. First regarding how fast they progressed in their relationship - to me this is not too unrealistic because of people who just know, will meet and... more>> get married within a month and stay married for 30+ years. In this story, they both know what they want and they go for it. Another issue that many readers had based on the chapter comments is in regards to the pregnancy. Honestly, it felt realistic that they would have an unplanned pregnancy based on how crazy in love the ML is and how much much they were going at it. Their contraceptive method was cond*ms and timing and that really isn't perfect. Real people do make mistakes, so it felt pretty realistic to me that this fictional couple made a mistake.

Once disappointment I had was that the transmigration wasn't a huge part of the story. In someway it wasn't even necessary. This totally could've been a story without it. It did add a little pizzazz, but not really a necessary component. If you read the summary and expected this to be a bigger part of the story, I'm sorry to disappoint you.

It's worth reading the author's note. They gave a lot of cultural context and author's intention behind what they wrote. Overall worth reading. <<less

It was good in the beginning and gets very boring so I dropped this.

The author just wrote about interactions and daily life of couple while dating, engagement, married and have baby. I like smooth sailing novel, but without an actual conflict that the protagonists can smoothly sailed through.. This felt more like a diary of the MC.

A short sweet story about normal relationship that started with a blind date. Both MC and ML are mature logical people and watching their relationship grow is so heartwarming

I absolutely loves MC's response to ML's initial coldness. Very realistic and sensible, and it was nice to see ML having to scramble to recover from the situation.

I almost feel like this one was a parody. Though it's not a comedy, the story is constantly poking at some of the standard tropes of "Dominating CEO" stories and why they don't make sense. For instance:

Spoiler

When the former FL shows up making crazy accusations and wants to talk with MC in private, MC refuses. After all, why would she go off with some woman who appears to be mentally deranged, and any curiosity she has about what the woman is saying can be resolved by talking it out with ML. Plus, she trusts ML's personality and that he didn't do anything wrong. Communication and trust of your significant other's common sense! Wow!

[collapse]

Not 5 stars, though, because by the end of the story, I was getting bored and mostly pushing on reading because there wasn't much left to go. I really appreciate the sensible characters and the drama being resolved sensibly, and I generally enjoy slice of life, but at the same time, there needs to be a little something to keep it interesting. The extras were fun again though. <<less

Mainly slice of life and a lot of romance. No particular conflict.

It is just a simple love story with not many ups and down, but it isn't bland either. If you just want to read something without excessive cliche or plot twists, this is a great choice.

fluffy. But the characters feel robotic. Their interactions feel like two chatbot a.i.s talking.

and the way they talk about the FL is very infantalizing. She in her 20s (she's older mentally) but they act like she's a preteen.

still, it's an easygoing read. Perfect timewaster.

General: 8/10

A good story, more slice of life. No dog-blood drama, no revenge and gore. Just warm, sweet story with very rational characters.

Translation: 8/10

A couple small mistakes, in general a good translation. Loved the character synopsis added to each chapter!

Plot:

+fluffy, sweet novel with HE

+slow paced, slightly romantic

+characters are very sensible

randomly you see characters like that. One can relate to most of their decisions. E.g. They can let go, can decide on things calmly, aren't overly dramatic

[collapse]

+some funny moments (but it isn't a comedy)

+/- no action. You were warned. It is a slow paced, relatable story with fluent narration. <<less

Such a good story!!

I loved this couple. They are so good at communication and their only disagreement is also not so big. I just love how the FL don't view everything as a 8 o clock drama but instead was very realistic. Though ML have little "flaws", but he is outstanding in love and life.

I liked the last few chapters too which allows ML to experience a world where there is no FL for 10 hrs as well as how in another world, they'll somehow meet again.

It's has no angst... more>> or dog blood drama, it's full of shoving dog food to our faces. <<less

I have read this. I almost reading it twice coz I forgot that I have read. I write this review, to make notes that I already read.

But, the fact that it can hook me twice, prove that this novel is really good.
