Violette, driven mad with jealousy towards her half-sister, committed a crime. However, she ultimately regrets ever committing such atrocity from the bottom of her heart while lamenting inside her prison cell. But fate was fickle, time rewound to the day she met her younger sister—the day she succumbed to insanity.

Violette returned to the past, a time before she committed the crime, where she reached a conclusion.

This time, there will be no irreparable mistakes. Without ever committing a crime and bothering anyone, she will live a life she thinks she deserves, an ordinary, plain, and inconspicuous life. Free from incarceration. Free from guilt.

Oh, but tweaking a portion of the past and going off-script for a bit to avoid that crime wouldn’t hurt anybody, right? Right, it will even benefit everyone? No one will know anyway, it’s not as if someone’s watching her anyway… Or so she thought, because for some reason, things are heading towards a very weird direction.

I went into the novel after reading the manga. Since the manga was good, I have positive expectation. However, the reality is less so. The writing is whiny and long. Each sentence does not pack with any meaning at all, just chapter and chapter of filler content. I skimmed through numerous chapters with barely anything happens. It's painful to read. A perfect example of "it should have been an email" - for anyone who had sat through a 3-hours pointless meeting. The order of events also was not eloquent at... more>> all.

The MC in the novel mostly live inside her own head. While I found her pitiful and the circumstance in which she grew up in is one of these fk up situation, surrounded by crazy people, I can't really agree with many of her choice in action. If you want someone to understand something, say it. Communication is the key to many problems that you have never thought it could solve. By the time she realized Yuran cares for her, she could have discussed with him your plan to grow up and get out of that house without having her father making her engaged with someone. If you don't want to be involved with Marijune, tell her that you don't want to, point it out to her that her snitching to father is making you suffered. Marijune is dumb as fk, but you can work from there. The first step is to admit that there is a problem. If you don't say it, others won't understand. The manga is so much better in term of communication.

I'm not sure if the novel has ended yet and by this point? I don't care. I'm dropping this, it wasn't worth the time. If you want to read, I highly recommend the manga instead, even though, it is likely dropped at this point, I think. <<less

the MC regrets being a villain and hating her younger sister, yet despite going back in time, she doesn't love her. So far everything is fine, since the fact that she grew up completely alone is a justification to hate her sister because she had everything.

but the problem isn't her, it's the other characters, who literally want the only person who showed kindness to the MC to die, or repent as if being good was a crime, I don't know if the sister is the villain in the end, but... more>> until c77 gets unwarranted hate, it seems readers and characters don't realize that the real jerks are the mc's parents.

Unlike the rest, she is the only one in her family who tries to understand her, who loves her and no one explains to her what she did wrong, they complain that she is naive but not one person, unlike the MC, tries to explain to her what is wrong, I don't like it or dislike it, it's just weird to see how the characters and the readers punish someone for being a good person, the world is upside down, while we see his father being a jerk.

basically the characters do the same to the sister, that the parents do to the MC, they despise them for the fact of breathing haha <<less

Honestly, I don't blame Violette for how she turned out. It's a miracle that she didn't kill herself or anyone else. The more we learn about her family situation, the more sickening it becomes, and at some point, the story becomes downright uncomfortable outside of the sweet moments. But those sweet moments seemed terrific due to that sense of discomfort.

Her family is just shitty. Every member, without exception. Her mother was obsessive and vile and her father was cold and unloving. That led her to receive no love as their... more>> child and only that disgustingly twisted love from her mother. Her stepmother and half-sister aren't any better. No matter how innocent they are, did they seriously agree with this dude's suggestion to start living with him a day after his wife just died? The worst part is that they never even thought that maybe Violette would be mourning her mother. They're considering her to be a part of their "happy family" without actually considering her feelings. The half-sister is supposed to be sweet and innocent but I can only see her as being insensitive and forceful, which makes me hate her more.

The people that actually care for her, Yulin and Marin, feel like saints in this novel. It makes me happy to see that Violette has people that know what she's going through and will always be there for her. Having even one person that can understand you can make your life infinitely better and she has two. I sincerely pray that they can take her out of that hellhole named the Vahal house.

I'd prefer if it wasn't harem (Yulan all the way) but this is a Japanese novel so there's nothing that can be done about it.

I'm not caught up so I don't know if the story gets worse or better, but what I do know is that I want to peel off the top layer of Violette's father's skin and dip him into vinegar and watch him suffer. <<less

The premise is great, and the characters are neat, but as stated by others, the novel just takes things far too slow. It's no exaggeration that a single conversation can be multiple parts or even chapters, solely because the writer feels the need to dive into so-and-so's mental state and how they've felt about such-and-such for the last month and how they feel about them now and how the way they blink is so special and whatever else is relevant. And then they'll flash back to the conversation, progress two... more>> lines, and then we get to hear the same thing from such-and-such's perspective. Even worse is that this will happen more than once between the same two characters. Basically anytime Violette ever interacts with someone you'll get an entire essay about what that someone thinks of Violette, even if you've heard it before. Claudia's mental perspectives in particular just wax on and on about how astonishing and different the new Violette is, every single time he so much as looks at her, to the point where Claudia has brought up Violette's smile so many times it sounds creepily obsessive if anything, and Yulan's entire character feels like he exists just to tell the audience "Violette may have been a villainess but SHE'S SUPER SPECIAL AND A GOOD GIRL AND DESERVES BETTER"

Show Don't Tell is an important part of storytelling, and this novel does it, quite frankly, horrendously. If you're really interested in this story, I highly recommend looking for the manga instead, because somehow it's gone farther than the novel has and the only thing you're really missing from the novel is the so-called "perspective" chapters, and even then the manga does a good enough showing people's reactions and thoughts that you don't need them. <<less

This is excruciatingly slow. It's the 37th chapter and basically nothing happened. I'd stick to the manga. Even though the manga has a slow pace as well, the novel takes that to a whole new level. In 11 manga chapters, they covered almost all the material for the 37 chapters of the novel.

The story overall is crazy basic. Nothing new but I don't mind that a lot since I like it when the MC goes back in time and all but what I dislike about this is that the MC... more>> is not doing much to change her fate aside from trying (and failing miserably) to avoid the prince and help her sister. Shouldn't she be thinking about the future ? Judging from other similar stories, she should be the age to get engaged and all. So, since she isn't actively doing anything, doesn't she know that her horrible father is going to mess up her life probably and get her engaged to someone that suits his interest or he might even ignore her and focus on the b*tchy sister.

Shouldn't she be trying to do something like establish connections, maybe start a business on the side or do anything to gain independence? She is doing 0 nothing, nada ! Hasn't she realized that she is doomed in that family ? <<less

Okay, so far so good. The translation is definitely not my favorite since there are a lot of common grammar errors, but the story still flow well!

The MC's family, except her half (or step) sister, will make you want to kill them. I mean despite how talented and beautiful MC said her father is, he's still a douche of a father for treating MC like that!!!

Beside MC's family, I love this novel so much and I hope it won't be dropped.

Loving that the story is not reincarnated into another where the MC use his\her knowledge of the modern world (i.e. their job, hobby, a game or novel about the new world they live now... e.t.c) and simply the villains had a 2nd chance to redeem herself knowing her mistake. I love how the story make you sympathetic toward the MC & know why she end up as the bad girl. Also I love the MC and which that she will get the love she deserve form not just a... more>> lover but everybody that ignored her suffering especially her father or at least let him suffer for putting his marriage problem into his child. I will rate so far as a 5 hopping that the story line doesn't disappoint me in the future.

Thanks for the translator effort and wish this novel will not dropped in the future. <<less

The beginning was fine and even made me feel sympathy for the MC but later it started to drag on and on so I lost interest. One conversation which takes a single page of the manga is streched out across 3-4 chapters in the novel. The manga is actually better cause it condensed some parts and thus the pacing was better. Overall 2.1 stars. I recommend you read the manga instead

I have to say this is one of the best novel I've read before. It is also one of my favourites. It's a novel which I eagerly wait for its update and never get bored of. I strongly recommend this novel for those who haven't read this yet. Although this novel has been adapted to the manga, in my opinion the novel is much much better than the manga and there is many parts in the novel that is not included in the manga.

Oh. My. God.

Okay, I don't usually comment about the writing in novels, because I usually can't tell what is bad writing due to my abysmal writing skills. So I usually just consume my novels thinking that the writing is decent or good.

Hence, when I do comment, that is really saying something.

This author needs a beta reader or an editor if they don't have one already because my god is the writing meandering. They would mention the same point 2-3 times within the same chapter with only a couple of sentences... more>> apart. Sometimes a point would be brought up even more but from a different character's point of view.

It feels like the author is just trying to add some buffer because they don't know what exactly to write, haven't thought out the plot yet, or have a predetermined number of chapters they want to hit. It is so frustrating.

I probably won't come back to this story until it has like 75 chapters translated. <<less

Properly, the Best novel of her kind. I never read Female protagonist, especially it is Harem. But this novel hooked up me a lot and I found gold. The most brilliant thing about this novel is Character building. It's interesting and enjoyable.

MC's also great. Tragedy Romeo.

The story is quite angsty. I borders on being too much for me. There's a manga version of it that's not nearly as angsty as the novel version. It's still early in the story. I look forward to seeing how the story develops. I sure hopes she gets the love and happiness she deserves.

I read the manga and got hooked so checked the novel. There are some scenes not shown in the manga and some are not explained in detail so that's nice to read. The plot is starting to get interesting. Can't wait to read more! Thank you for translating
