Cannon Fodder Cheat System

Description

At first, when he learned that he was forced to go to many different routine worlds and be reborn into all kinds of cannon fodder, he was against it.

Because while villains usually all only have a moment of satisfaction, the endings of cannon fodder are also frequently quite miserable.

But the man who gave him the system told him that this system not only has all types of powerful functions, but he can also break the routine lives of the cannon fodder. If he achieves this satisfactorily for each world, he can even become a god.

He’s already experienced over a thousand reincarnations, but hasn’t yet been a god. Since it sounds pretty great, why not just try it out.

From that moment on, he began the irreversible path of tyrannically oppressing people, while conveniently tearing open those white moonlights and so-called righteous people’s hypocritical masks.

His goal: wearing the villain’s role to walk other people’s righteous paths, leaving them no path to follow.

The MC of this novel is Jing Yang, a person who had stayed in the underworld, being reborn again and again for over 1000 times where the lives he lives are getting shorter and shorter with each rebirth. He grows tired of it, as he's also not able to remember his original life and finally decides to scatter his soul to escape this endless loop.

The master of the Underworld, Hades appears at this time, telling him there's someone waiting for him outside and gives him a jade.

Jing Yang finally agrees... more>> to continue being reborn, although rather reluctantly.

None of above facts are a spoiler, since this is mentioned in the very first chapter, but we do get a glimpse of what should be MC's origin, at least I think the original world should have something to do with either cultivation or immortal realm.

Now that we clarified this point, let's talk about the novel itself.

The title „Cannon Fodder Cheat System" is quite accurate. Because although Jing Yang has lived and experienced so many worlds, during the following arcs, he rarely makes use of what he learned so far, instead relying on his personal cheat, which is the system he received with the jade.

He entered several different worlds to replace a tragic cannon fodder who (most of the time) was being cheated on by his scum gong and the villainous protagonist shou who snatched said scum lover from the cannon fodder. MC then used his system to become overpowered and this way very happily cheated his way to a happy ending by crushing the villainous protagonist shou and scumbag gong.

Naturally, this won't work if there's no ML for our MC. As common for this setting, the Male Lead is extremely strong and a hidden (or not so hidden) BOSS!

How is he cheating, you ask? Have you ever played "The Sims" or any other RPG, where you can give your char certain stats or skills? It's the same here. Jing Yang uses his cheat system to give himself the knowledge and skills his body needs in each world, like for example cooking, painting, knowledge about plants and animals, enhancing his body etc etc. Just that contrary to RPGs where you need to level up slowly, he just directly cheats his skills and abilities to max level and well, turns from a tragic cannon fodder into an OP protagonist.

I have to admit, that although I really like this novel, if one were to compare it with QT novel like „Heroic Death System" (where MC literally spends decades in the training space to learn and level up his skills), or any other novel where MC either relies on his experience or his own previous life's knowledge (QWTFOD – MC is a hacker and uses this knowledge along with what he learned through his previous worlds to defeat his opponents), CFCS feels rather bland and average.

So it would be best to view this novel by itself instead of comparing it, because the author did great regarding the world building, plot and overall appearance of each arc.

Moreover, after having read the same setting and procedure for almost every arc in many different QT novel, I was extremely surprised about the author also using such settings but changing details.

An example would be Arc 8 – War of mechanics (Ch. 96-113). The setting is interstellar but MC is a mechanic who develops machines and mechas, instead of being a general who fights against Zerg.

Arc 9 – True or false Mermaid (Ch. 114-127) is a fantasy setting with mermaids having special powers

And so on and so forth, although the Arc settings are nothing new (we have apocalypse, music, supermodel, cooking, painting etc), the way in which they are presented and MC's identities always manage to give me some surprises and were very enjoyable.

After having praised this novel so much, you may wonder why I didn't give it 5 stars. That's quite easy, because I do have an issue with the male lead.

At the beginning, he started to seriously pursue MC in each arc, with sending roses, being patient and courting him like it was to be expected. But later on the style in which the author developed ML's „pursuit" changed and I admit that I don't like it, because I have personal issues with such situations.

Let me try to explain. ML started with a serious and gentle persuit that took time, and the couple also didn't meet directly at the beginning of the arc, but with each new arc the time got shorter and shorter and ML got more and more unrestrained.
Spoiler

This even escalates to the point of ML drugging and basically raping MC (Arc 13 – Anyang Saga) where he ends up forcing MC into a relationship (well, MC isn't really being forced because he knows that guy is his husband, so he doesn't even bother to get angry with him afterwards. Instead he just ignores it, they get together and that's it.)

[collapse]

Whenever I read something like this, I want the MC to retaliate, and most of the time those MC won't do so because "he's my husband despite not remembering our past lives", which made me drop quite a few novel so far...

Here's the same. No matter what ML does to establish the relationship with MC, the latter doesn't really react all that much to it, simply because he knows this is ML and thus is okay with being overwhelmed. But from my point of view, MC fails to understand that although the soul is the same, but the ML has no memories, and only acting on instinct by „forcing" him to surrender, this is not love but toxic. But well, this is only my personal opinion, don't mind me xD

For this novel, I just decided to skip the part where ML annoys me, so this doesn't have that much of an impact on my opinion about this novel itself.

Last but not least, what surprised me the most about this novel, since I seriously can't remember having read something similar so far, would be the fact that aside from MC, who naturally remembers everything and ML who every once in a while remembers faint images about their past lives, there's a third person who transmigrates with this couple.

Spoiler

And that is the villainous protagonist shou! Yes. That opponent, MC has to defeat in each arc is the same person, just like ML. He doesn't actively remember his past lives at the beginning and later only does so after being overstimulated by MC.

[collapse]

Because of this, I'm just so super curious about what will happen later, the big showdown which may or may not come.

*sighs* Okay, I've already written half a novel without coming to the point, let's just end this here.

Despite how much I'm nagging or being unhappy with ML's shamelessness, all in all I like this QT novel. I'm catching myself reading my favorite arcs time and time again while waiting for the translator to finish the novel, and will continuing doing so in the future, because I think it's worth it and I'm having fun! <<less

As others have stated, the story is repetitive. I have skipped few arcs, that includes the following: a musical arc and another musical arc, as well as a gaming arc, and finally settled on the apocalypse arc.

Basically, the whole story goes like this:

MC and ML make eye contact with each other, they both fall in love, and their hearts would beat once they gaze at one another. MC describes how whenever they kiss, it feels like his soul is being s**ked in. The villain of the story appears and attempts... more>> to destroy MC, but they fail miserably due to Mc's cheat system and ML.

Because they've known each other for a long time, you can't blame them for falling in love quickly.

I almost forgot: the villain has a lover who he stole from Og! Body of the MC, so that lover is a slag man, according to the mc's body. (Sometimes lovers and sometimes just a man that is interested in og! Body)

At the beginning of the novel, we learn a little bit about MC and ML's identities. We're also told how ML gives MC a bracelet that allows him to world hop with memories, as opposed to reincarnation with no memories with the help of the system. We also hear about 99 heaven, but we don't get much more information after that; we only get to read about how, despite not having his memories, ML still gives MC 99 white roses subconsciously. Following that, the plot is repetitive throughout the book.

The novel made me feel bad for the villain in one of the artist arc because we learn that

Spoiler

Every villain who opposed MC is the same person, or I guess the same soul. I was literally feeling sorry for him when he was painting with his mouth. I'm pretty sure if he was the MC, we'd like him and despise the MC from this novel.

[collapse]

He's written pitifully, with no backbone; you can see him regret his decision at the end, but he keeps making the same mistakes over and over. <<less

Still my favorite author! Some genius arcs here that I felt were unique from other quick-transmigration arcs! But some of the arcs could get a little long and a bit morning, other arcs I wish was longer! I wish the author wrote more about the rest of their lives after defeating the scum in each arc like how they grew old together or more from the ML's perspective. Our MC has talent in each life and is OP and it helps that our ML is always the strongest character in... more>> every world.

Wow okay what can I say here. Hmm There's 3 part to every world that I always use to see the pattern

MC' Spread his legs'

ML ' Shove it in'

... more>> Villain' Get slapped fast and easy.

Overall pretty bland, even the personality of the main leads are bland and I can't describe them at all. They didn't reveal til the last 2 chapters about Mc's personality. I would've enjoy it more if they just allow him to show it more. Because for 226 he had none and I just can't resonate with his character because I have no direction to lean to.

The smut is also pretty bland not even detailed, aye come on try harder sigh.

Read this if you want to past the time, it goes pretty fast, really short in length. Just nothing special, I had high expectations looking at the cover and reading the first chapter. Thing get simplified and less detailed as longer it goes, like author just scribbling at one point <<less

This was really good, my favorite arc was the one where MC was called Arthur Yang and he was a supermodel. The novel is a lot like FOD and almost any other QT but I never get bored of those. There are a few neat twists so if you think it'l just be generic, don't worry.

The MC depends on the system and ML to do everything and just kinda sits it out,

Also, the ML kinda just waves his hand and everything will go his way and whatever MC does is right and those who goes against the MC also have unfair ends, like yes, they deserve to go to prison but they don't deserve to be beaten half to death by people the ML sends

Also, ML literally does everything for the MC and doesn't think straight. For example, he SHOT someone just because they... more>> came up with a strategy he didn't like. (They had other motives but the ML didn't know that therefore that's the reason)

Also, I feel like the author is making the bad guys so that we have no choice but to hate them. Also the MC and ML is really boring. In fact, they're so boring that I even skipped the papapa scenes

Well, I need to drop this novel. The only reason I stuck around is because I liked the way the author set up the worlds and the conflicts that needed to be solved. BuT the system literally solves anything and everything with a snap of it’s fingers. I wanna know how the MC solves it step by step, not how this god-like thing makes everything work out.

I wanted to drop this novel 2 times because of the repetitive villains that remind me of villains from the Spanish soap operas. I... more>> see it again, again, and again. I know what they are gonna say. I know what they gonna do next, because it’s so predictable and cliche. Super disappointed.

Meh. The initial arcs where fun and interesting but the story gradually became dull. The arc concepts are cool but the characters and repetitive plot just really bring down the quality of the stories. Like, the MC HEAVILY relies on the ML when dealing with the rival despite him saying he could have also done it another way but just asked the ML for help because why not.

The ML is one-dimensional, he's like a blank piece of paper that just has his most basic qualities: be the world's most powerful... more>> boss, solely and passionately love the MC, solve all of MCs problems. Cool, anything else?

The MC is not even that likable. He's OP and everything but can you please be more defined? What are your morals, beliefs, stance on love, or anything just give something to define your character!

Really enjoyed the intial arcs but it gets pretty tiring since the plot becomes basically the same for each arc. *Sigh* <<less

There are arcs that I like and some are boring and bland. Many of the arcs have great ideas. Some were unique and new to me so I like it very much but there are arcs that are interesting but are executed unsatisfyingly; it can be the world building is lacking, the characters became dumb, or the author did not do some little more research on certain areas which resulted to a very, very immature plot.

Also note! The MC and ML are very OP especially the MC. Truthfully, I don't... more>> hate OP characters but my liking will depend on how it was executed. The OPness of the MC here is making his character boring and bland. He's too plain.

I gave the novel 3 stars and 1 star additional for the translator. Translator-san really did a great job! Thank you for the work! ❤ You can read this if you have free time though, especially if you almost read QT stories in NU. It's not that bad. I reread it sometimes tho (selected arcs). <<less

Every world have a well writen original story, but it feels that sometimes the MC taking revenge too easily. Not to mention the overpowered ML... There are things what almost the same in every world. Sometimes the ML going too far, and I didn't understand why the MC didn't care.

Reading the ending and knowing who the MC in reality, and the reason why he was forced to reincarnate, it make sense to everything. It's gave me the "So that's why!" feeling, and I was glad I read it till the... more>> end (once or twice I wanted to drop it). <<less

Cannon Fodder Cheat System tells the story of Jing Yang, a man who is stuck in a cannon fodder position and is so very, very tired of transmigrating, and willing to stop after the 1, 365th reincarnation back to the void, to finally let his soul dissipate and rest. His friend Hades who lives in a palace in the void greets him and encourages Jing Yang to continue transmigrating, giving him a rare jade that updates his System to one he can cheat with, and saying someone is waiting for... more>> him to gain power and remember his original life in Heaven. Invigorated, he reincarnates again, and the story starts.

The story settings are really unique and interesting! I’ve read many quick transmigration novels but I love the story settings the author creates! A cooking world where MC solves his mother’s su*cide and reclaims lost family historical properties from his scum father, 17th-18th century China with guns, opera, and the start of opium dens becoming a problem; Outdoor streaming! Extreme and dangerous sports in an interstellar modern universe! Trapped in a game, SAO style but it’s P2W! There are so many interesting, incredible set ups! So.. Why did I give this novel such a low rating?

It gets predictable and repetitive. In the first chapter, the world is explained to the point where you can correctly guess every ending, and once you realize the overused pattern of MC transmigrates, MC finds ML, they f*ck (SFW), and then ML solves all MC’s problems, it’s even more boring because even if he’s just a military officer, he somehow controls the minister of finance or something. He’s too OP. But this alone isn’t super uncommon in quick transmigration novels, and it’s not what made me stop reading, it was the cruelty. The way MC deals with every “villain” is so, genuinely insane if I read to the end and found out MC was the actual antagonist of every story, I would not have been shocked. Things get completely blown out of proportion that the villains become literal victims, and even people who got caught up with the “villains” have such terrible ends I didn’t want to continue reading.

Non-spoiler examples include: Setting up villains to get r*ped, MC whipping people to death, MC targeting his fiancé’s boyfriend, the “villain” for stealing him, when he should have railed on his fiancé for cheating, and something that was the final straw that made me drop the novel. In the sixth world, A side character, a prince, who fell in love with the villain, became a cripple and was arranged to be drugged and then r*ped by a woman by ML and MC to produce an heir so that MC and ML’s claim to the throne could be legitimate, and the prince had no idea he has a son, or that something that vile happened to him.

I cannot in good faith ask anyone to read this.

Spoilers and specific examples below.

Spoiler

Second world – MC had a terrible father who cheated on his wife and after he passed away, MC’s mom kicked out the mistress and her 6yr old kid. The mistress abandoned the kid at a troupe and left him a letter explaining that he was the actual heir and his inheritance was stolen from him, and he grew up believing this. After gaining wealth and power through his own skills, MC destroyed him and he gets an absolutely tragic ending, due to a misunderstanding that should have been explained.

Third world – This one was a bit deserved but the way it was done was premeditated mu*der. I don’t understand why MC and ML stooped down to the villains level to do such a thing instead of getting actual justice. They should have gone to jail, MC and ML.

Fourth world – MC had a verbal agreement with his childhood friend to get married when they were older. The childhood friend fell in love with someone else, and got an orphaned lover. While the lover was two-faced, he never sabotaged MC and in the end, in order to get MC’s family property, the childhood friend who was slandering MC tried to backstep and marry MC, but the lover was the villain here? It was a verbal agreement! He got a worse ending than the childhood friend! In his perception, he was an orphan with talent in with the piano trying to marry up! Remember, the “marriage” was a verbal agreement between literal children! No one would take that seriously.

Fifth world – The story setting didn’t make any sense here and it was the weakest. SAO style, a bunch of people got trapped in a game and the hackers and technicians trying to rescue them reset everyone back to zero, said they could only rescue the top 100 players, and then set it up so people could transfer their IRL wealth into game money so it became P2W??? This doesn’t feel like a rescue! MC also whipped someone to death and took their time doing it.

Sixth worldThis one was seriously messed up.

The villain is a fake saintess who made a deal with the demon king to destroy humanity, and MC set him up to get r*ped then watched the whole thing. He ended up tortured to death, but the victim that made me drop the book was the second prince, Louis. Louis fell in love with the villain, and while Louis wasn’t a good person, his only real sin was ignorance. In the end, he was crippled, and then arranged to be drugged and r*ped by a women by MC and ML, so that they could pretend the kid was their heir solely so the ministers would agree to let MC be the queen and having “legitimacy” to the throne. Louis had no idea he was r*ped, and had no idea he had a kid.

This is not ok.

3.3 is my overall score

So, it's quick transmigration novel with "cheat" in its title, so you're sure what to expect from this type of novel. MC receives sad story of his character in the current world, prepares the face-slapping process (with ML), face-slapps the villaines.

Spoiler

There are only about 3 key character in each arc: MC, ML, the villain. The villain in each arc occupy MC's character's place, takes over his possessions and people, than MC transmigrates and with cheat system and ML takes it back. Sometimes ex of MC is vicious like the villain, sometimes there are some side character, who vicious in his stead, but their nature are still pretty much the same.

[collapse]

Pluses we have:

    • Overbearing and dominating ML with righteous but ruthless character
    • Pretty smart MC, though he levels up his skill through system and solves problems with help from ML, he is good enough to get revenge without ML (but there aren't arcs like this)
    • MC is not a "white lotus" and doesn't hide that he approves some of more cruel methods of MC, sometimes himself does some brutal things in revenge.
    • Face-slapping process
BUT! To be honest, this novel becomes very boring with each arc! There isn't ANY progress in character's design and nature, all of the stories are pretty much exact the same pattern in different settings. Though QT genre should add some effect of novelty, the story becomes dull and not very interesting. There aren't any changes in main characters feelings, in villains doings, methods and natures, they are ones and the same. Only when the main plotline appears (ten arcs later) it becomes less dull.

Spoiler

It's never ending circle: MC regresses, reads the heartbroken story of his character, improves himself with system, find man who can be the ML, confirms that he is ML, together with ML overturns tables against the villain and MC's ex-traitor, lives happy lives with ML, while his (ML) subordinates or side character / ex-traitor tortures the villain for his sins against humanity.

[collapse]

More minuses:

  • ML has s*x with MC all the time. Too much for my taste. Their interc**rses are not method to express feelings and intimacy, but just typical "stallion ML can't live without it". Although MC and ML deeply in love with each other, there are many scenes of dubcon and delirious MC. Unpleasant.
  • Author neglected many details in different arcs.
  • Side characters are dull, there isn't any interesting side character.
  • Almost each side character in an every arc (including the villain) is just a total hypocritical moron with despicable double standards. They may change their mind only when MC drags them to the bottom. Every. Single. Arc.
So, I recommend reading some arcs of this novel if you're bored late in the evening, but don't expect too much - there aren't really exciting/fun/unexpected turns in this novel at all. It's pretty standard in every aspect. <<less

Now I understand why there is to much negative comments for this story.

The story itself have a very potential plot for each arc... unfortunately from the beginning until the end, the pattern of the story has always same ending and plot.

Not to mention the ending which have a very flat end... This story just downright bad.

Cookie cutter, a dime a dozen, type of story. Seen many like this, both good and bad and this version is lined up at the very bottom.

No moving or interesting plotline, dry and overly passive narrative, cookie-cutter protagonists, and classic NPC cannon fodders. What prompts me to rate this 1 star is because of all the SA.

ML is a somnophile. Even when MC is awake, it's often described that ML will overpower him, so he has no choice in it either.... more>>
Spoiler

ML is highly into raping MC. It's his way of showing his possessiveness and regardless of MC's objection or not, ML would always fully commit the crime.
Can't say how often MC was fondled and kissed everywhere before they got into a relationship. Most of their moments together becomes eventually s*xual harassment or assault. There are way too many instances to count. He's completely unapologetic about it.

There's only one instance where it was an influenced r*pe. The remainder of the 98% times they have s*x, is of ML fully sober raping MC. MC doesn't consent to it, and gives in later, or, MC wants it, but rejects it after getting no breaks. ML would just r*pe him in his sleep if he faints from fatigue though.

ML and MC also had people r*ped. More detailed spoilers in arc spoilers and is highlighted.

[collapse]

Wish at least the story would be decently told but from the get go, it shows way too many problems and way too many predictable points that make the story a chore to chew through.

Sufficient as a gap filler, but it's overall underwhelming and a watered-down copycat of better works. No noteworthy individuality in this work.

Some of the system's abilities to let you know how BS this system truly is:

Spoiler

Power boost in anything and everything MC wants to do. If he wants to cook, he'd be the master chef of master chefs. He doesn't have to personally execute these acts either, he can let the system take over and perform on autopilot. Identification. Locator. Extra sensitive senses. Visual enhancer.

[collapse]

Some major flaws in the prologue:

Spoiler

Unrealistic reason to hold out for over 1.3k life cycles out of pure interest in someone he cannot remember and has no feelings toward to. Gets a shortcut out of the blue to do quick transmigration instead. Gets pointed out he cannot live as he wishes- ends up doing as he wishes anyway and then some. There are no rules he has to abide by (like no OOC) and the wishes from the people of the original bodies are also vague AF so why was Hades setting the story up as if the arcs would be challenging in any way or form?

[collapse]

Arcs:

Spoiler

Basic formula:

- system memory transfer=quick spoonfed plot exposition

-MC gets in motion to be a 100% face-slapping white lotus, doesn't have to bother most of the time because ML will step in, sometimes even as soon as he transmigrates. It usually goes like this, have s*x, talk about benefits, and keep having s*x. No romantic relationships. Everything will boil down to s*xual tension. No bonding or relationship forming. Doesn't help either when MC goes: "do this for me." And ML demands s*xual favors in return. (Cannon fodder and MC both sleep with men for favors, cannon fodder is the bad one because the men he sleeps with are of worse quality, that's the biggest hypocrisy, under the flag of true love, ML and MC get away with A LOT)

Even if cannon fodder was malicious and full of ill-intent, the methods on both sides are no different. MC and ML are both fully willing to stoop lower.

-MC, top in status, wealth, looks and power falls in love with MC at first glance, doesn't even go through the motions of a normal relationship, straight to bed and put a ring on him, and go straight back to f*cking

-with the exception of the first arc, MC is completely insecure about ML being his lover and stalls until ML sexually assaults him and his identity is confirmed through a kiss (MC ignoring other signs of attraction to the sole person he'd ever fall for until the kiss- is that to make ML frivolous for falling at a glance or is it to make MC's trust and bond to ML weak? Either way, it doesn't look good for either of them no matter how you spin it) he only got used to ML being ML after 8-9 arcs

-story that can be ended in 3 chapters is extended with boring one-sided complete overwhelming face slapping and no smut passive s*x scenes (though I'm glad it isn't smut because of arc 6, ML wants to test MC's lung capacity by kissing him and compliments his lung capacity after a long make-out session, like wdym? People breathe through their noses during kissing sessions. Either it's a cringe approach or the author's romantic experiences don't even reach to kissing) MC and ML don't even have to lift a finger anymore because the cannon fodders started self-destructing at some point. That's how weak they are. They cannot compete at all.

-MC and ML are too busy living that 0-100 romance life and arc ends either with villains completely unmentioned (what happened to MC's missions...?) or they're excessively punished (mostly the wrong people too, it's either the illegitimate child or half sibling that were also fooled by the circumstances, the typical ones that you'd read in a regression novel). The story tends to target the green tea bit*h and not the scum man (whether it be an awful lover or awful father that's root of all causes) for some reason.

A weird mix of either extremes or nonchalant clean-ups of the fodder squad.

MC and ML are absolutely scummy for having someone r*ped. Sleep drug-induced r*pe (s) on ML's gay half-brother for making a child of their bloodline

Just because they paid the woman to do it voluntarily, doesn't make it ok. I can't stand this type of double standard.

MC also had the cannon fodder r*ped when the cannon fodder failed to set him up. But the rapist was also again under heavy drug influence (violent) thanks to MC.

-passive dry narration with protagonists sitting on a conveyor belt moving along with the plot and living out a boring ass happily ever after

-sh*t starts again from the top...

[collapse]

This will rinse and repeat till we get the predictable reunion of the protagonists and their over-the-top happily ever after. <<less

The ML and MC are barely decent, just good enough to be protagonists of a QT novel. However with the Antagonist for each arc... I was kinda disappointed. For example, let's talk about the mermaid arc.

Spoiler

So solely based on the story arc, Abby, a pirate's son, fell in love with prince Cory at first sight and became so obsessed with him to the point where he'd gladly kill Leann (Mc) to be Cory's fiancé. And it's not a bad introduction, sure the motivation of abby is kinda overused, however it's just bearable.

The only problem is that... he was a pirate's son, so how did abby even meet cory in the first place when it's said that pirates are illegal? And when they tried to ambush Leann (Mc) how did they know where he was gonna appear? No wait, how did they even know that the king made a deal with the mermaid king in the first place? Was it not a tightly kept secret? And when Abby's father and his father's comrades died, there was no lines of abby feeling guilt or remorse towards them or were there any mentions of them again only ever there to be a stepping stone for the plot to move forward.

[collapse]

And I know what you're thinking, I'm probably taking this too seriously considering most good QT novels like Quickly Wear The Face of The Devil also have some badly written villains, but let's be honest, their Antagonists are not as badly written or as idiotic as CFCS is. The Novel basically copypastes the same plot/villain OVER and OVER again to the point where it's just an annoyingly uncreative.

That said, the novels a barely decent read, it gets pretty plain as you read more of the arcs, but still, readable. <<less

There's little emotional involvement, little character development, always the same story and the author seems convinced that illegitimate children are born to be evil. She also seems to be against Robin Hood which...

I personally got bored quickly.

The translation is great!

Boring, honestly.

Most QTs are usually smooth-going, but this is too smooth. One, MC already has a Super cheat that allows him to master any ability to beat the villains in their own game, and also look way more handsome and beautiful than the villain. Two, ML is a powerful guy who is closely connected to the story, so he can just flick a hand and wave away all of MC's problems. There's nothing for MC to do, ML appears and makes already the easy world even more alphabetically easy.

The arcs... more>> are too short and reads like a summary, that I don't feel anything for anyone. It's a mistake to assume I will instantly project my best friend to a side character just because author gave that character the ~loyal friend~ label. I'm also not mad or annoyed at the villain yet before they are dealt with.

Nothing keeps me going except for the question of how MC's soul is like this now.

MC-ML is cute. But I don't like insta-love that much. <<less

A light read. The story is bland, flat, and a bit unnecessarily long winded for me but it got some nice face-slapping. I like it enough to read it casually.

So, the common plot was to have MC as wealthy/fortunate cannon fodder, ML as obscenely powerful person, and Protagonist as pitiful and ambitious person. Most arcs would have a Protagonist who thinks "Why can MC has everything but I can't? I want to defy fate! Woe is me!" because he is almost always have lower standing than MC and while I... more>> like OP MC, this settings got real boring real fast. It'd be nice if the Protagonist, while dumb, can at the very least has the same standing/power/starting point as MC did just to create, idk, maybe some nicer face-slapping? Something more memorable anyway.

The concept is this:

Spoiler

Arc 1 is MC as legitimate son and Protagonist as illegitimate son

Arc 2 is also MC as legitimate son and Protagonist as illegitimate son

Arc 3 is MC as wealthy, loner streamer and Protagonist as popular streamer (not sure if he's poor)

Arc 4 is MC as wealthy orphan and Protagonist as adopted orphan

Arc 5 is MC as wealthy, handsome student and Protagonist as poor, ugly student

Arc 6 is MC as powerful person with heavy background and Protagonist as poor kid who was condemned

[collapse]

There's no dog food because the romance was instant, as in just banking on the previous world's feelings so the next world MC and ML just need to meet up and bam they're taking protagonist down together. It got to the point that I just hurry along the moment MC and ML meet so the story can get to the face-slapping. What I unexpectedly found here was sometimes, MC will be a fake white lotus (which is a trope that I like) where he'd act pitiful in front of ML and also whitewash his characters. At least I got that, yay.

Oh and, it is somewhat similar to BOSS Transmigrates as a Little Cutie, but BOSS's MC and ML were more preferable tho. <<less

This is a piece of tr*sh that deserves to be set on fire.

MC is your standart OP protagonist. Nothing original here.

ML, however, is somehow worse than usual. He straight up r*pes MC. And I don't mean the usual "MC is not in the mood but complies to MLs wishes" (though this story has this in every arc), oh no. I mean "ML met MC for the first time and f*cked him while he was unconscious". Later he even admits that he literally r*ped him, so it's not like the author... more>> is unaware that they created a garbage of a character.

So this is your trigger warning for rape.

Also ML is always disregards MC's wishes and boundaries. If ML wants to f*ck - he will f*ck MC. If he wants to intervene into MC business - he will, no matter how MC asks him not to. (At one point MC is like "I should just fall asleep and let him do whatever he wants with my body". It's like there is a competition among BL authors, who can create a ML with the worst skills in bed). There are a lot of things that put ML into the "irredeemable tr*sh" category, but if I attempt to list them all, I'll be here for a long, long time.

In each world ML is always in a position of power so MC would never worry that something could go wrong. After some time, MC, literally says: "Yes, I can't do it myself, but I have a golden thigh that will do it for me".

So we have a MC who can't be more boring, ML, who is a vile piece of shit, "relationship" between them that build not on love and trust, but on Word Of God. Oh, about their relationship: in the "real world arc" it is revealed that ML raised MC from birth. Yep.

So this is your trigger warning for grooming.

MC is OP, ML is his super influential backer in every world, so there is absolutely no challenge for MC.

Well, credit goes where credit is due: face slapping was really fun first, maybe, five times. This is literally the only thing that kept me reading.

But since this is basically the same thing repeated 15 times, it became boring real quick.

In conclusion: I don't see the appeal of this story. Really.

If you are here got the BL - turn a round and walk the other way. This story will make you angry. If you are here for the face slapping - it's not worth it <<less

In comparison to Face of Devil, this novel doesn't have much appeal.

The plot is rather shallow, protagonist romance abrupt and not emotional enough.

Perhaps I'll read it if I run out of good novels or when I don't really wanna overanalyze the plots/characterization.
