I specifically made an account to just give people a heads up on the s*upid nationalism that goes on in the novel. The novel itself is alright but the plot seems slow, the idea and conflict between the main character and the OG protagonist quickly smothers out and we don’t even kno w the guys name until like 30chapters in. It’s basically overlord but if the author had a targeted hatred towards China, Japan. Now I understand there was ancient history and a sort of grudge between the countries but the story sort pushes this in your face. The idea that you love your own country is not wrong however the “plot” of the novel just really shows the ignorance of the author. British people are just fancy wizards. Chinese people are just c*nts. Japanese people are equally just c*nts. I enjoyed the novel but every time the china japan thing appears it feels like a fly in my soup. Apparently nobody was calling this out in the reviews as though there is a double standard. After writing this review I can literally sense the racist people who think shitting on China is ok simply because of their narrow world view. Overall, give it a try if you don’t mind nationalism however I just simply can’t stand the s*upid ignorance that the author shows
