That was shorter than anticipited based on the plot build up. The chemistry between MC and ML was really sweet and was relatably awkward. Eventually their relationship became stagnant. MC's relationship with his brothers was not that great.

ML and MC at the beginning was cute as they tried to get used to each other but as the chapter continues the chemistry just kinda fell apart and you can tell the story was rushed since the building block detail was gone and the conflict was desperately squeezed in to give the story variety. This is the kind of story that needs more chapters. MC's relationship with his brothers was not well thought out. When his brothers figured out that their lil brother died and replaced, MC was the one that stormed out crying like he was the one who lost a lil brother and refused to go home. "Not everything is about you"

This... It's really not that good. Two stars is fitting. Great translation, lackluster everything else.

Objectively speaking, the author crammed in way too many plots. The MC being from a post-apocalyptic world is okay, but the

time travelling eldest brother? The transmigrating Mary Sue with the relevant golden fingers? The system from an interstellar timeline that wants to pull a Pinocchio to bang the Emperor? The freaking last-minute cultivation BS?

[collapse]

It was a bit too much, I guess.

Now, subjectively speaking, I think the MC is... Well, he's pitiful. But I personally don't like MC's who wallow in despair. Like, I can understand where he's coming from and that he's traumatized and he has my sympathy, honestly, but it's not really my thing. I like MC's who either rise from their misfortunes or sink into their misery to become harbingers of misfortunes. Not this MC who, honestly... Kind of spends most of his time passively accepting whatever sh*t comes his way. And counting on others to, like, I don't know, shield him. Which is fine, I guess, and if you like those kinds of stories then go ahead and read this one because, again, this is just my personal opinion.

Anyways, enjoy (or avoid it if you think you won't). <<less

If I didn't complete the novel I would have gave it 3.5 stars.

Thank God I didn't care about low star rating and gave it a shot. Now its 4.5 stars for me.

The first 50 chs of story is what you say pretty normal.

I don't have any say about the charecters they are soo good!MC kinda has PTSD and his charecter is justified.

In the last 20 around chapters we have a lot of ideas mixing beautifully. Idk why some people didn't like it.

Give it a shot.

Oh mew 😂

This is the second time I visit this novel website. I tho I have given a review but actually I haven't 😂😆

Now I will give one 🤗

...

...

Firstly, the story, as other review says, is unique not in a bad way 🤭

It feels like you sprinkled many spices on you food and then it taste good but there is something wrong with it. You don't know what exactly is wrong but still eat it and think it's okay 🤣🤣

Tbh, even until now I still couldn't believe author can connect so many different world involving one character. Just imagine the apocalypse, ancient, and then interstellar 😅😅

Not my favorite in many way. The plot is not so exciting, the fluff is so little (not that much, but I can't really feel the sweetness from the way author write it) 🤔😌

Fyi, I just read it cause I am bored stuck at home. Even my nervousness from waiting my univ examination result can't get rid this boredom drilling into my soul 🤷🤷 (please wish me luck 🙇🙇)

What I like in here is it's uniqueness, the character, and how there is no dog blood drama 😁😃

Even if I can't thoroughly enjoy this one, I hope other people can enjoy this novel and make the author more prosperous 😎😎

  1. Thank you very much 🥰🥰💝

Great story at the beginning but turns weird in the latter half. Especially after Zero One appeared. The story got worse. It was like the author was getting tired of the story, tired of thinking, and thus didn't wrote proper explanations. Although fictional story doesn't have to make sense, the author have to explain things properly so that the readers can understand the story -- and this novel definitely doesn't have proper explanation in the latter half of the story.

While I was reading the latter half of this story, it... more>> definitely felt that the author really just got tired of the story -- hence the half-assed explanations, background story, and rushed ending.

When you feel good about a story while your read the first few chapters but then it got worse and worse -- well, you know the feeling. The disappointment is greater. <<less

This is going out of control
This author don’t know how to introduce plot, my head ache as a fiction consumer and my heart hurt as a writer myself
This is a powerful and creative story but the author is still too inexperienced and clumsy

The concept was interesting, and in many cases, the reader had to puzzle things out and read between the lines. In my opinion, that's a creative way of keeping the reader's interest in the plot.

There were some things that reminded me about another novel (The legendary master's wife) ; thanks to reading that novel first and some others that talk about golden fingers and the like, I was able to understand the story with no trouble (keeping in mind that I started reading Danmei novels at the beginning of May,... more>> I believe that I'm adapting well to many expression used in them).

I liked the main characters, their devotion and support toward each other were wonderful to read. <<less

Primary genre: Slice of life.

Lin Mo is a transmigrator from the end of the world, i.e. A zombie apocalypse. Contrary to expectations, he is a normal human without special abilities- but with one exception: he has a pocket dimension with a spiritual spring. The miraculous abilities of the spring water becomes the source of his misfortune, as he is tortured and experimented on due to its healing properties. After his death, Lin Mo wakes up in an ancient world, in a family that resembles his own (especially his two older... more>> brothers), and in the body of a ger with a weak constitution.

Unlike other apocalypse survivors, Lin Mo isn't battle-hardened. He is reserved, soft-spoken, and extremely caring towards his loved ones. He does not care for much else. Point is: he's not going to pick up a sword and jump headlong into battle. The title defines the core of this novel. Lin Mo's only goal is to eat and live well, and it slowly extends into protecting his new family.

Then Cheng Yan appears, and Lin Mo realizes that he doesn't have to be alone his entire life. Cheng Yan is special to Lin Mo due to several factors, and Cheng Yan is attracted to Lin Mo's calm and worldly demeanor. They get together quickly, and their romance isn't one of passionate, burning love. It's a slow intimacy and familiarity bred by their times spent together. Both are satisfied with the other. Their relationship can be summed up as: Lin Mo acts coquettish only towards Cheng Yan, and Cheng Yan spoils only Lin Mo.

Most of the novel is written a slow, ambling format. While there are plot twists and other strange elements (comparable to Lin Mo's own transmigration), the novel remains at its core, a slice of life novel.

To be completely honest, the latter parts of the story began to drag a little, and I almost felt that I would not need to finish the novel to understand how the story would have progressed. However, certain small moments truly made the novel shine, which primarily include the Lin family moments (e.g. Little Xiaoya & Xiaonan's interactions with their Fourth and Fifth Uncles) and continued fluff between Lin Mo and Cheng Yan.

If slow isn't for you, I would not recommend this novel. You only need to read several chapters to see if this style of writing is to your preference. Regardless, the novel was enjoyable in the calm, unhurried manner it unfolded, similar to enjoying a cup of cooling green tea amidst warm winds. <<less

This novel basiccally about rebirth of the MC and the existence of ML in second life.

I like how the relationship started between MC and ML, although for some people it might seem simple, but for me the relationship setting allowed MC and ML to developed their feeling and reader got to know how reality this relationship is.

To sum it up, this novel has the quality itself that does't have in any rebirth novel in my point of view because this novel has it own unique and I'm not regreat to... more>> stumble into this novel ?? <<less

Translation is fine.

But I don't find the thrill reading the story, nothing much on the plot and characters development.

So I don't think I'll finish reading this novel.

At first I wanted to keep waiting for the translation, but I was very curious about the MC who was going to the imperial city, so I decided to do the mtl, and finally my curiosity paid off, yes even though the mtl was hard to understand but I got some spoilers...

I don't get it. What timeline did he came from exactly? Is it a modern zombie apocalypse setting or is it an ancient zombie apocalypse setting? I got confused on chapter 19 to 20. I do know that gers does not exist on Lin Mo's old timeline. So he he was transmigrated to a parallel universe then with the same family but not exactly the same since his 2 brothers are not exactly from his universe but rather from the parallel universe and got reborn again?? I don't get it.

Reading this novel left a bitter taste! Not that the author writing is bad but too short too rush too many things left hanging around n not written at all. A lot of situations cut abruptly n near the ending u r just left reading summaries. U know when u in school teacher gve u an article n told u to write summaries about it in like 60words or less? Yeah that's the feeling I get when reading. Feel like the author read the story in her head n then... more>> just write summary n post it as novel chapter :v so many great plot potential but all got cut short and left reader unsatisfied. That ending? One of the worst! Like the biggest question will the couple ever b honest with each other or not? Will MC ever tell ML his previous life n will ML ever gonna confess tht he knows. Oh btw it's very vague too the explanation about how the ML knows it, like in a dream yeah but to what extent exactly did he dream or from what n where ??!!! And did he ever go to MC original apocalypse world n whatever happen to that sub system from Noah?? Gosh it's infuriating with allll these unsolved plot hole. Like author just decide yep its finish the end despite everything not solved properly. Very anticlimactic with the villains too 🙄🙄🙄

And the translation wasn't great. I read gugle translation instead ~

And no there's no mpreg MC is ger but he never get pregnant. <<less

I initially liked this novel but when the ML adamantly refused to teach the MC how to protect himself, I realized how egoistical he was. He wanted the MC to solely depend on him fully knowing that there were dangers ahead. If he truly loved the MC, he will not take that risk. The MC also started to become useless after he got married. All he did was sleep, have s*x, eat, and act coquettish every chance he gets. It even came to a point where he fainted just because... more>> they were attacked by bandits (even though he was not even hurt physically. He was that weak).

The translation was great though. <<less

I only managed to finish this based on wanting to finish the whole thing (unless it was really unbearable for me). Overall, the story was.... meh. I get that the MC had trauma and PTSD before he died, and I honestly thought this whole thing would be him just starting to heal when he transmigrated to ancient times.

Lol nope. While he did warm up a bit to his family, helped them with everyday things like cooking, brewing wines, babysitting etc, I just found his character to be bland. It's like... more>> his character is just... there. He feels more like an NPC than the MC, even ML at least has some semblance of a character.

Then there's the addition of a few genres lol. It's like author decided to just add in stuff because why not.

Honestly, if author wanted to add in genres, might as well just make it a QT type of thing. Would probably have more time to give MC and ML character development.

Spoiler

One thing that really disappointed and annoyed me about MC was him never telling everything to ML. Dude already proven he was worth the trust, heck, they even got to the point of going inside the space, so why not spill everything? ML will definitely pamper and support him 200% since telling him everything would prove MC now trusts him fully. ML also had to see it all via a dream. It just feels unfair for ML.

I can't say it's super bad considering I read all of it, but the story feels like more like a summary of a story than a story itself.

I can't tell you how many times a chapter would end with a cliffhanger setting up a supper interesting conflict/confrontation and for the next chapter to start several hours/days later and just summarize the confrontation/plot point.
Spoiler

The wildest one for me was when they introduced a whole dragon and then the next chapter was like yeah he had a world-altering conversation with that dragon that you don't get to see but also doesn't matter

[collapse]

The beginning, which focuses on a slice-of-life ancient business building setting reads like the author knows you've read better versions of the trope and you can fill in the blanks. A lot of it is like, he needs to make wine so he makes wine and his family that is poor can somehow just support this whim with no issues. It lacks even the real-world small issues that even most OP novels let the MC struggle through at first. I thought the author was just more interested in getting to the capital where
Spoiler

the MC learns he and his family were killed in a past life by a transmigrator. That twist seems like it would open up some interesting plots/interactions/face slapping but instead, it all happens off screen. The main big bag, the transmigrator with a golden finger, has two scenes where she even talks and three scenes altogether (the last one being where she dies).

[collapse]
It's strange to me, like what was the point?

Also I think the final problem I had was that the MC and ML have this magic affinity for each other where the ML is the only person who can touch MC and he doesn't feel repulsed, but it's never explained, if I remember correctly. I don't mind hand waving sometimes, but when the draw of the story is supposed to be that there's actually an explanation for things that are normally hand-wavy (transmigation, reincarnation, etc) it felt like a cheap way to force the MC and MLs relationship without building a foundation.

People who don't like open-ended endings should not read this. I felt like it suddenly stopped in the middle.

The synopsis is misleading: "For Lin Mo, at the end of his life, Cheng Yan is his little angel." It makes you think the audience will get to read the lifetime of the protagonist. But that's not what happened in the end.

Not a Masterpiece but also not a flop. Right in that in-between of the author having great ideas but it turning a little chaotic.

The characters were all a 10/10 I loved all of them. There's a lot of feel good loving family vibes and fluffy moments between MC and ML.

I did enjoy this even though the author caused me to have a few head scratching moments.

Also not spicy for anyone wondering.

Hmm, look, the story went well for the first part, specifically b4 MC and ML came back to the imperial city but after that everything went kinda... well, all over the place.

I guess the author started out writing this story with a stable idea and plot (secret space from a jade with a corresponding half, slice of life farming and business, transmigration by several ppl, amnesiac ML and rebirth with revenge plot against a big boss white lotus transmigrator and her harem of powerful nobles, and the Lin family's hidden... more>> origin) but got a mess of plot bunnies (system sent by MC's father who somehow got transmigrated into an interstellar world and somehow managed to send the system with his spiritual force to MC, which... what? A freaking dragon and cultivation) popping up in the middle and towards the end of writing this story.

I suppose all those plot bunnies could have been executed somehow but I guess the author ended up confused themselves and after the initial plot bunnies, ended up not knowing how to tie up all the loose ends (from all the transmigration happening, to how Lin Cheng were rebirth in the first place, to the system, and most importantly, the villains, gosh the way the author wrap up the villains' endings compared to all the build ups and suspense throughout like 2/3 of the story, was just so flat and out of the blue I just...) which made the story very, very confusing and anticlimatic, not to mention rushed...

And the side pairings' extras made them so 2D and have so many plot holes I couldn't even find it in myself to ship/care about them...

Honestly even MC and ML's build up towards romance was lacking and a little rushed but there was enough build up for them to end up at least liking each other in the beginning but the side pairings especially Lin Xiu and ML's younger brother, was just... lacking in so much context and build up that when they got married I was like... oh, they're married?

Would have given a 2 star actually but the first part with the familial bonding, farming and business slice of life accompanied with MC and ML's sweet fluff was honestly endearing and even a little healing so there, 3 star, it is. <<less
