It was good! Our MC is pragmatic. In her prevous life, she was a zombie, without human memories. In the end she was killed by a stronger zombie, while she herself already sat on top of the foodchain.

This time around, she is reborn, a few days before the apocalpyse will start. She is reborn with her zombie powers intact, ánd a magical space, where she can store and grow food.

Spoiler

Despite being a zombie, she looks like a human. Therefore, she decides to live among humans. Because she has learned (and experienced) that not all humans are good, and she knows that she will be shunned because she is a zombie, she decides to open a restaurant. That way she can help humans by providing food, and they can pay her with crystal cores. She will need crystal cores to eat, because she does not eat humans. She also needs them to power up.

So, our MC chooses to go to a college campus, buys a restaurant, and renovates it. Then, she awaits the apocalypse. During the last days, she helps the humans on the college campus, but mostly watches on the sidelines, unless her help is really necessary. She also does not help unconditionally, the humans have to pay her in crystal cores.

Later on, her life is good, she makes some friends, finds a friend from her previous (zombie) life, and munches on crystal cores. Things change when the human leader goes back to his family in another city. The campus falls apart from the inside out, the humans are after her food, and try to steal it. Then they find out she is a zombie, and she leaves the campus. Because she is a strong zombie, her being there is a deterrence to other zombies. So, after she leaves, the campus is destroyed

MC lives on in another city, things happen, apocalypse goes on, MC continues to provide food to humans.

There is more happening, but I read it a while ago, and this is kinda the core of the story. <<less

EDIT: Still not too much to rate, however I personally enjoy the MC's willingness to bu*t heads with others and assist those in need. She doesn't try to baby them but simply does what she considers to be "necessary". Things are different from her previous life and she now has the capacity to make decisions beyond that of her zombie instinct. The release rate is slow at 2-3 ch a week (better than once a week at least) but I will be waiting in suspense for the next chapter. Nice... more>> start.

Old Review:

[CH 3] There isn't much to go off of yet. JEEZ ! Why are there so many people who instantly shoot a novel down before it can even properly establish its premise. It's been 3 chapters! Please allow this novel to grow before you say it is assuredly a 1-3 star. <<less

The story teaches us that we couldnt judge something based on their appearance. In her second experience of apocalypse world, Fu Cao had to seen again how human tends to have prejudices against zombies, while the true evil was lurking among the human itself.

Its a good novel with so many heart warming scenes. I love how Fu Cao growing from naive young girl in her past life to a strong willed zombie king in the after life.

We will see other people development through the story as well, in which we will be shown how the key characters differ from their past experience to the greater good.

Its a heart warming story of a kind hearted zombie girl trying to believe in the goodness of life. <<less

I literally created an account just to review this book. Nice read. Only 123 chapters. From this point I'm going just going rant with a lot of spoilers LIKE MAJOR SPOILERS LIKE IM GOING TO TELL YOU THE ENDING. But still a good book if you read this book, really sweet read, stop at the RED butterfly necklace. You'll understand when u read this book. Stop there and assume that's the ending.

I'm going to start my rant so STOP reading here.

Spoiler

I've read a lot of novels. Some with more then a 1000 chapters. But I don't know why this one affected me the most.

Spoiler

Maybe it has to do with the ending and the f*kin TIMESKIPS. Usually a story may leave a open ending in which as the reader we can imagine what happens next. Maybe the main characters get married and have kids after completing a main goal in the story.

Spoiler

This book should have ended when the main lead confessed and gave the female lead the butterfly necklace. At the point peace had been achieved between zombies and humans and the male lead finally had the guts to confess. It should have ended there with main conflict ending and the leads love ambiguous on what could happen next. So the reader could imagine their future.

Spoiler

The author probably wanted to end this book fast but still. There was no need for those extra f*kin chapters.

Spoiler

In literally like 3-5 chapters the characters that were important to the story and were there since the beginning ALL DEAD. The author killed them all with no memorable mention of what they really did after the love confession of the male lead.

Spoiler

BAM TIMESKIP important side character dies of old age BAM TIMESKIP the female leads important people that she considered important are mentioned to have died of old age BAM TIMESKIP male leads brother dies. The brother actually is mentioned on how they are at his deathbed dying of old age. How they are sad. BUT TIMESKIP the FL an ML are going to a funeral of another important side character. Other characters that were there since the beginning are just mentioned to have died of old age. BUT THE WORST OF ALL BAM TIMESKIP.

Spoiler

At this point the female lead and male lead are the last left of the cast both lonely with only each other. The male lead and female lead have about 10 years to live and the male lead confess again with a different butterfly fly necklace because the first time the female lead rejected. I have nothing against the female lead because the first time he confessed she didn't love him. But she liked him like she liked all the other important cast, like family/friends. BUT the book should have ended at the first confession even if the female lead rejected him as a reader I could have imagined that in the future the male lead would pursue the female lead and they would be together. BUT I wouldn't have imagined that the male lead would ONLY confess again after they only have few years to live and everyone they loved and cared about would all be dead.

Sigh I think I'm only ranting because of the REALLY strong abrupt end. Like after the first confession the other characters were only mentioned again to say they died just like that. The story centered more around the female lead since the beginning yet brother Long and brother thin who were family to her were mentioned to have died of old age and that the female lead was sad and that's IT. The male leads brother who appeared half way in the story had more screentime about his passage of death. With the author describing how the brother was laying in bed and leads were beside his side. How the male lead was so sad he wanted to bite his brother so he could live longer like a zombie. But the female lead hugged him and stopped him saying that's not what his brother wanted. The male leads brother was the character with the most screentime on how his death presided. Everyone else was TIMESKIP BAM YOU DEAD. Not only that some characters death were mentioned in other peoples TIMESKIPS.

Like BAM TIMESKIP this person that was loved by the main characters died BUT by the way this other character that had friendship is dead already just to let you know.

Every single person dead who the leads knew personally.

The ending with the male lead confessing and the female lead accepting when they have few years to live after living lonely lives together. I'm not joking the author described them being basically lonely people who only have each other after all the years and everyone one they knew dead. After the confession they go back to the base which brother Long once managed and run a restaurant. A restaurant that once had the presences of the people they knew. Bam The end basically. Really fulfilled the title I guess.

ALL OF THAT IN SUCH FEW CHAPTERS. EVERYTHING HAPPENED IN 3-5 CHAPTERS.

That's why it should have ended at the first confession. Sigh. I just realized I just ranted a lot. This is my first review so I should get a pass.

Ending to abrupt and the romance really started to bloom by the very end.

It's such a mess, a-ah! 😂 I feel like author tried to implement many subplots, but in the end the plot became filled with holes and sudden turns with no foreshadowing whatsoever which greatly injured the original premise.

Spoiler

Like this rivalry between Space-Time Administration and Anti-Space-Time Administration that seemed crucial to the second arc, and disappeared into nothing afterwards. Two most powerful taskers were locked up in that world, and no one did anything, really?

I get that it seems like a huge things to fight against, but it could've been resolved properly? Like, a mention that the world was sealed off or something. Because we have two giants fighting on this battlefield, and suddenly they disappear, and everyone is pretending nothing ever happened.

This is the biggest hole, but there are many other sudden plot drops, like previous life flashback in the beginning of Lan Zhi arc, or sudden Wang Yue power up and revolution, or add-on of that guy who killed Lan Zhi in previous life, who was pushed back almost immediately.

[collapse]

The plot line feels like a child made some random scribbles on the paper, it's not smooth at all, and there are various loose ends and sudden line drops. The romance in the end was also incredibly abrupt.

Spoiler

We go from 'MC doesn't understand the feelings of love and has no attachment to ML' to 'a lot of MC's close people died, so since ML was the only one left, she kinda found herself depending on his existence, and they finally got married and made a baby, the end' in literally LAST TWO CHAPTERS. I get that the romance is a subplot here, I don't mind romance being secondary to the general plot development. But there's a difference between something happening in the background of the bigger picture, and suddenly rapid speeding through time-skips to get the 'normal heteros*xual marriage and babies ending'. Also the whole 'zombies make babies now' was too bizarre.

[collapse]

All in all, after finishing this story, I doubt I'll find myself re-reading it ever, unless there will be a newly edited version of it.

It's kinda fine for reading it once, it's a simple brain supplement without much thought and deep meaning, and with overpowered protagonist who difies logic at times. Just be aware that the further you are into it, the more frantic the plot becomes until it speeds up into not very satisfactory ending.

It's a fluff piece so far. Sorta. Already there are other conspiracies happening but it's still a nice mindless read. The translation quality on Centinni drops drastically, so if you can't tolerate chinese MTL levels of bad grammar, look for a different translation.

It is an alright story. Not the best, but alright.

I liked the beginning, but after about halfway in it became somewhat boring and a little weird.

Spoiler

I found the part where people from a timecontrol bureau came to try and kill MC because she changed the world weird. There were a few chapters about this and then they were never mentioned again as if author forgot about it. Perhaps other readers didn't like that either?

[collapse]

However it is a pretty short story, so I guess it will be difficult to drag this out too much.

In the beginning it is mentioned that MC plans not to care about humans too much after she was attacked by the army which lead to her being killed by another zombie in her previous life. In a lot of novels protagonists will interfere constantly with others even after mentioning something like that. It is refreshing that MC really does not help humans unless there are children involved.

There is just a little romance in the last 6 chapters. Mostly it is about MC living her life happily in and after the apocalypse. <<less

I really liked the beginning of this story but as the story moves towards the end it feels rushed. Felt like the author had a lot of plans but got bored and decided to just rush and squeeze everything in a few chapters and ended it.

And let's not talk about romance, takes 70 chapters to introduce the ML, the story ends around 120 chapters, the romance itself starts almost at the ended. There's no development between them, feels force.

It's not a bad read it's just kind of a meh, something... more>> to read to kill time, wouldn't read again. <<less

Great start, became a bit nonsensical in the middle with an underwhelming end. I dropped right before it ended.

There's a r*pe scene, although not detailed still made me uncomfortable.

I feel that the author tried to add to much elements into the novel, which turned it into a mess. There's a space and time organization that basically disappeared halfway through the novel, there's several rebirths and even rebirth into someone else's body. Romance between MC and ML doesn't make sense, there's no chemistry at all, there's barely any interaction for the... more>> ML to suddenly like the MC.

Spoiler

ML is the zombie that killed the MC in her past life, all of a sudden he fell in love with her after recovering his memories, like what? Then there's his other evil personality who somehow got another body and became the final villain, that's not all, the way he died was so underwhelming, MC's space saved the MC from the villain by absorbing him as energy source, I call that lazy writing, then she somehow became more overpowered because she somehow merged with the space.

[collapse]

I feel that this novel could've been better but the author have too many ideas but lacked the skills to write it. Although the title is about the MC opening a restaurant, it was barely part of the plot. 3 stars is the best I can give. <<less

I rate this 3.5*

I agree with the reviews by "lerrein" and "addictedtore" and "quesbee".

The start of the story was fine. Fu cao or Xiaobai is the female lead. Her character/attitude was acceptable seeing how she died in her previous life. I even accept her cheat abilities and how all these people have random super powers since that's kinda the premise of the book. It's been mentioned that the wood ability and another ability had healing elements associated with it but nobody ever heals anybody.

The problem starts showing up when the... more>> first base collapse. Like wow basically no one survives. Why did the story spend so long on the city D base and have the female lead spend so much resources just to have them all die? Maybe to show us how cruel a dystopian lifestyle is? But one of the major characters since the beginning, Zhang Zhongmin becomes almost a side character and what's the point of his lingering glances when nothing was going to be done with that.

Other reviews have mentioned other worldly forces interfering and then after two battles that was it. I know the story mentioned one of the powers was on the decline but it was like the author forgot about it or didn't know what else to do with this subplot. Also, no explanation on how xiaobai, brother long, skinny, lan zhi, and zian tian all had rebirth together although they all had some kind of connection to xiaobai and lan zhi in the previous life. As a matter of fact, zian tian didn't even died. He just felt bored in the previous life and woke up in another body. His appearance was so pointless because he's supposed to be pretty powerful but the author only wrote him in to do one thing and then he's forgotten. The author totally just rush to the ending. I don't know what to make of the last three extra chapters because it was flat and had a lot of time skips and just made me feel dead inside. You can read "samii0-0"'s spoiler review for why. I did like the fuuny part with xiao hei and Zhongmin's great granddaughter.

Also, a character named Dis showed up and he did something to do that was kinda a big deal but the author dropped the ball again on explaining the character's origin and washed out the effects of what he did.
Spoiler

apparently he was a second personality that lan zhi had developed in the previous world who had a miraculous rebirth in a separate body which is not explained. FL had her body corroded and is now maintained by the powers of her "space" but this did not seem to affect her abilities to have a child in the epilogue/bonus chapters

[collapse]

All in all you can read it if you have time to spare. It's got better science/logic than some of the other zombie stories although it's riddle with plot holes. This would have been much better if it was published and had to go through an editor vs being a web novel where you upload it as you think of stuff. Also, I was holding out and continued to the end because I was waiting for romance. There IS NO ROMANCE. Someone needs to get rid of the romantic subplot tag. Yes, our FL ends up with someone but that was in the last few chapters and I would rate it a 3 out of 10 on the warm fuzzy feelings scale.

P.s. The 35 chapters out are clearly polished mtl. It is possible to mtl the rest of it but only recommended if you've read a lot of Chinese stories because some of it would be hard to understand if you didn't know how they talk. You should also keep in mind that at least 75% of the time, mtl gives the wrong pronoun. <<less

One of the best apocalypse novel with a FL as protagonist MC Isn't a White lotus nor a green tea b*tch, I admire her determination and kindness to give humans a second chance.
Spoiler

At first, I thought the ML was Zhang/zhang (whatever his name was), who is introduced at the beginning as the base (the school beside Mc's exclusive restaurant) captain but then the ML appears at chapter 70 or so (he was rescued by the MC from an underground experimental place)

[collapse]

Side characters like brother long and skinny were also likable. I enjoyed their doting and brotherly love for the MC.
Spoiler

Skinny, Brother Long, Xian Tian (he appears on later chapterss) Lin Shi (the ML who is a zombie) and The MC are all reborn

[collapse]

Most of the female characters were also likable. Like Lin Yiyi, Feng Hua, quing ningning (n thats all I remember ╮ (─▽─) ╭)

Spoiler

Surprisingly, the Novel also includes characters like system and host (707 as host and 001 as ssystem) and there is also this villain whose name is 666 (pretty evil)

OK, I don't wanna spoil much ( ̄ω ̄;) Just read to know. Just a peek on the ending (✪ω✪)

MC and ML will live for 300 years (ya, I know its wayyyyy long) they get married and have a daughter
