Rong Qing transmigrated into the role of a big boss inside a book. Passionate, rich, and extremely good looking.

Yet this kind of big boss character, there were a total of six in the original book. All were embraced and hugged left and right by the original book’s main character Xiao Ziqi.

How can this be in accordance with the values of an upright modern society?

Rong Qing immediately sharpened his (metaphoric) sword and prepared to battle against the other big bosses. He will let them learn that although love was precious, making money was even sweeter!

During this process, he also accidentally picked up a little wolf pup cannon fodder from the original book and started his sweet, yet hilarious new life…

It's not that good tho. It's not a complicated plot or a plot that needs to tired your brain when reading it. It's fun to read to kill time. It's a comedic undertone so ofc it's funny and the reaction between MC and ML is also good and fluffy. But the important thing is that this story somehow has a sexist idea which I can't stand it.

*spoiler down there is what I've misunderstood MC lol. But I'm so angry and really can't tolerate it so if you know which part... more>> I refer to and you understand MC then u don't need to open it*

Spoiler

There's a part where MC pretends to teach (to let Song Xian get rid of the original MC) Song Xian (one of the big bosses in the original novel) about a father-father family that when the adopted child learned that their family doesn't have a mother like others family and they have a real mother who gave birth to them. They will make a fuss and things will be complicated or even affect their husbands' relationship. Umm.. To be honest, this is not something that cultured people would say. It's more like something homophobic would say tho.

Or something like "Since you want a child then why can't you marry women and have a child" I'm like W*F so you going to say that gay couple or LGBTQ couple doesn't deserve to have their own children or something?? And MC said surrogate is against moral and ethics?? Hello?? Are you serious??? So Women who have health problems and have a hard time having a child can use surrogacy while lgbtq couples who want to have a child can't use surrogacy and it's become a problem between morals and ethics?? I'm just WOW this mindset is toxic as hell lol

[collapse]

For now, that's how far I've read. But I also saw another review that said the latter part is also a bit misogyny. So, I don't know where all of these sexist problems lie. Is the character setting problems that the author deliberately make MC look stup*d or the author's way of thinking is toxic I don't know? After I finished reading this maybe I will change the rating.

EDITED* I'm dropping this. MC is too overbearing and all the nonsense is placed on his character. He's childish, arrogant, stup*d, shameless, and always throwing a tantrum. The story doesn't make any sense. It focuses on how MC flexing his money, how he always so h**ny as hell but can't do anything, his strategy to teach big bosses the sweetness of making money with all sick in the head reasons, and tried hard to make him look funny. Ok, its does funny at first but not anymore. MC's character is annoying he can do better than what he did but the author deliberately makes him like a clown with zero brain cells. Especially when he tried to convince people it looks completely dumb and not funny at all. At least I've read another novel with this kind of character but the joke and everything is far better than this. Basically, I like shameless and arrogant MC but they gotta have a brain though. And childish personality is also cute but childish doesn't mean you can always throwing a tantrum wherever and whenever you like. If you just want to kill time then take out your brain before reading it. But if you don't wanna waste your time then I'm not recommended. <<less

This is soo funny. There's not a moment I'm not smiling or even almost laughing out loud. The characters aren't too deep, but they are well thought out and consistent. You can see how the relationships deepen and character growth that comes with it, but they are still the same people, you just see what they are like in love. idk... it's cute tho. The wolf pup and CEO really mesh well together and I'm looking forward to eating dog food... ? idk...

Anyway, s*xual orientation isn't really talked about. That... more>> topic is somehow made super irrelevant, not in the way of, "It depends on the person" nonsense, but that no one cares. Not really important to the review and you probably shouldn't read it but...

Spoiler

MC makes the excuse of "your kid will have to call both of you dad and get confused" and "doesn't a relationship with the him mean no s*x 'cause he's too pure" to get someone out of a relationship with the white lotus. Not anything about society or anything. Also FYI, MC doesn't like white lotus who's creepy and MC also got a water park from this kid's dad for this. So there were a lot of bullsh*t excuses.

[collapse]

The plot is super unique, so how the couple interacts with each other is special. The only thing that's not really considered or talked about is the character's ambitions and faults. It's not really a spoiler, but...

Spoiler

The CEO suddenly got rich and his current philosophy is pretty much, "Making money is happiness, spending money is happiness" and he also wants to eventually have s*x.

The other "big shots'" ambitions lie around the same place (with two exceptions so far) after being influenced by the MC.

I won't say anything about the white lotus, and the wolf pup's ambition isn't really talked about at all, but I guess we can assume it's to be successful in the industry.

[collapse]

And then about the faults... it's serious comedy so although there are some moments where they wonder where they stand in the other's heart, it's mostly light stuff and just doing what they want to do and their own intentions. I'm not saying they don't care about the other person, but they don't doubt themselves, you know?

Well, you'll know if you read it. The characters are likable and realistic. 100% recommended. <<less

Too lazy to give it a review, but I have to let it out. Jeez! All reviews with low rate already said the bad side of this novel. You'll only get bored of waiting for the plot to appear because there's none! I almost finish, but the MC remains 2D— there's no character development happened to him. Such a novel with potential yet ended up being written by the author who only think about humorous story with no plot twist. 🙄 Tbh, I dunno what's with the author's mind while... more>> writing this. 🤦🏻 <<less

It was surprisingly great!

The first few chapters made me think it was going to be... how should I say... lackluster? But it kept getting better and consistently made me snort from laughter.

I love the CEO trio lol and assistant He.

Update: omg make that I love all the original CEO tops lmao XD Mr Mu, you are hilarious.

Wolf pup is so sincere about his feelings and you can feel his doting towards Rong Qing. Ahh when will I ever find my own Lin Ji or tyrant baby

I read up to ch.121, then I quit.

I find this story just so boring. There is no real point to continue reading it.

I'm sick of the MC. How 80% of the story is just him complaining silently (inner monologue) about all little things and praising himself up to the heaven. I dislike how totally childish MC is. It's unknown how old he was when he died before transmigrating, but he should not have a mentality of a highschooler (who has not even reached the period where he needs to plan... more>> for college and his future). Honestly, the MC is just a whiny childish airhead narcissist who has golden fingers (most perfect appeance, unlimited source of money, most perfect and capable head assistant who completed everything tasks for MC perfectly and completely satisfied with his position as head assistant and has no drive to reach more career wise. A group of top lawyers to handle things which didn't go as MC likes (i.e. Media, reporters, netizens), etc). Basically MC is so good equipped with anything and everything that he doesn't really need to do anything. There is no problem, barely any chance for a trouble, a good loyal young very talented wolf pup ready to make MC happy begging and awaiting for MC love.

The only problem MC has, is to be loyal to a lover and a ban of s*x life until marriage.

MC is not cute, funny nor hilarious. He is just.. Plain and boring as hell. Totally materialistic. Very egoistic. Extremely narcissistic. And the only thing important for MC is money.

MC doesn't have any friend, and doesn't care to make one. Even when he gave another character a help sometime, he ask for a return immediately after (even when those help was done on MC's own initiative. As those being helped didn't ask MC for help given).

So why would I find such a MC setup interesting? Well.. I don't. At all. This is the worst story I ever read. It's just like drinking a tasteless soup.

I read up to ch 121 because I was hoping for a development of a plot. But there was NONE.

Even if this story is supposed to be a fluffy b-Love story, it should not be so badly set up that it's just became so extremely stale. Honestly, any other character in the story would have make this novel hundred times more interesting, if any of them were made to be the MC instead (even the boring villain). <<less

Dropped

The story was great at the start but further on the MC just gets more annoying. Just like some of the reviews here, this was supposed to be my cup of tea where MC shou is rich flamboyant cool type and ML gong is the silent grass type but the MC just keeps degrading into this super narcissistic and too-proud of a guy who doesn't have self awareness and basically has princess syndrome. ML just indulges him and the side characters does not say something about his character aside from... more>> saying 'we can't do anything since he's the richest guy around'. Could have made it more interesting also if the story with the brother and his partner was put more forward but no, we don't even know the partner's name despite reaching ch80 - and to think he already helped ML so many times!

Just... dropped. I can't. <<less

Dropped.

I actually enjoyed this story, especially in the beginning. I wouldn’t have read so many chapters if I didn’t. However, I slowly felt like I was forcing myself to continue. My main problem is the MC he’s overdramatic and obnoxious. It’s supposed to be cute and originally it was very quirky cute but it became entitled and rude. Every single minor inconvenience in his life was met with an onslaught of tyranny. Which is usually satisfying but some of these were very minor. One example is when MC complained to... more>> a neighborhood home about fireworks when he himself used fireworks in previous chapters. His character just became too much. Mostly, it felt like he didn’t respect any of the other characters.

I’m really hesitant to rate what I read so far because I really did like the premise and it started out well. <<less

oh my gosh, I cannot express how much this novel made me laugh out loud! The author and translator (papa mihawk wow!) really did a great job with this. The story was absolutely hilarious, full of thirst and very enjoyable. Reading this was like having a full-course meal with 19 servings of tasty desserts!

MC is probably the funniest character I've had the pleasure of reading in a while. He breaks the original personality terribly and seems to be flaunting his wealth needlessly but I enjoy his banter with everyone, especially... more>> Head Assistant He! All the cat bonuses!!! He's really OP with his triple combo of wealth, beauty and his bloodthirsty lawyer team.

ML, I have nothing much to say as he's pretty typical? He grew from puppy gong to wolf gong!

As for the original world plot, I almost forgot this was a transmigration novel! I don't even remember how MC got into this world??? The whole time I was tossed into reading this world that seems to be fueled by laughing gas lol it's just brainlessly funny!
Spoiler

The white lotus even fades out at a certain point and returns after 345934053 chapters, only to fade out again and be tossed into prison! His golden finger lost its power and he went insane because he can't talk about the system he has (restrictions, I'm guessing?)

[collapse]

Each supporting character is unique and eccentric in their own way, especially the original harem MLs (CEOs) for the white lotus! It feels like the richer they are, the wackier their personalities become (laugh crying)
Spoiler

my favourite is probably CEO Mu who first appears to obstruct ML's work just because ML looked better and stronger than him sdfsdfsdf #1 Yankee of West Shandong does not disappoint and comes armed with slippers and sunflower seeds! I absolutely loved the scenes he features in.

[collapse]
There are a LOT of (gay) CPs in here too. Almost everyone gets their own slices of the happy ending pie! I haven't read the extras yet but I'm hoping Gao-jie gets out of the single dog curse too!

This is tagged Shounen Ai for a very good reason: fluffy, funny and not explicit! There are NSFW moments near the end but omg the author is a genius at toeing the censorship limits. The main couple do drive in the main text and the author weaved the chapter devilishly well haha
Spoiler

at one point they apparently have a car 69 moment in C145 or 146 but I didn't even realise??? Genius. The post-marital s*x was written as the falling of an angel after a devil's temptation. Amazing.

[collapse]

Anyway, this was a great read and would definitely recommend if you need something to make you laugh! <<less

Worst MC I've ever read. So obnoxious and pretentious, with a brain of a 7 years old. Would have been fun if the childish personality was done right but it came out dumb and annoying.

Some parts shouldn't have been written (like the secretary's POV), and the MC's interaction with the other characters are repetitive, like 'praise me, praise me'. The seal thing is kinda dumb too. Should have been interesting if the MC stole all the capture targets instead or something.

One thing I love though is the ML. So adorable... more>> and hardworking, I survived 60+ just for the crumbs.

Overall a light read and probably best for people who wants to turn off their brains. I usually like these types of novels but this one is not it for me. Better read other things y'all.

Great translation work tho, kudos to the translator. <<less

This novel is funny, but not impressive.

The first half have "The script is not like this" vibes kind of humour. The later half is mainly focused on the relationship between MC and ML. The story progression is pretty boring, and the narrative is just bland. There are too many nonsenses going on, thus it made me regret not skip some chapters. Seriously, how mess up it is that even the writer can't remember what she wrote? 🤦‍♀️ I am totally speechless.

The MC is a typical silly big boss type. The... more>> ML is sweet and nice, but transparent. I don't remember much about him. His character is so forgettable. The white lotus, who supposed to be the main villian, was also handled too easily. To the point that no one have to do anything, just a bit of bluffing and flaunting from the MC is enough to clean him up. There are also some interesting characters that were randomly thrown in and just disappeared without being touched again, such as male lead's sister and mom, which is um a bit disappointing. 🤨 <<less

I decided to pick up this story because I was in the mood for something light-hearted and all the five stars looked promising. From what I've read so far, it is definitely light-hearted but not for me.

Dropped at ch. 19 after reading the delightful scene where ... more>>
Spoiler

the MC gets a bloody nose after seeing the full size poster and body pillow he had made of the ML. He then takes a selfie of his bloody face and sends it to ML because who doesn't want their crush to know just how pervy they are. ML, upon seeing his bloody face, is shocked for.2 seconds before going into a daze because MC (in all his bloody glory) looks so incredibly hot in the photo.

[collapse]

Scenes like this highlight how immature and shallow the writing can be. Nothing these characters do or say make any sense. The disconnect was most obvious when our MC is in a business setting. I wouldn't trust this man to take care of my houseplant, much less enter into a multi-million dollar contract with him. It doesn't help that the author seems to forget parts of her own story. In one scene, MC is in a face to face meeting with someone who revealed something. MC is shocked by what he discovered and immediately calls the person who revealed the info to yell at him... wasn't that person right in front of you?

Also was anyone else disturbed when
Spoiler

the MC tried to convince one of the white lily's potential love interest/victim that they weren't meant to be because two men can't have children? Stating that "[f]rom moral, ethical, and all sorts of reasons, it's very dangerous!" When the other person responded by saying that they will use a surrogate and that the child will understand when they're older, MC was like... Nah! Too much trouble! Just stick to women if you have even the slightest attraction to them.

[collapse]
I get that the MC was willing to say anything to achieve his objective, but why go there? Isn't he supposed to be a savvy businessman with a golden touch? Yet, this was the best he could do?

I suggest reading the first few chapters. If you like the pacing and humor, then you might like the rest of the story. For me, it was just too disjointed and nonsensical. <<less

Comedy was so so.... plot was interesting enough till MC started to degrade gay parents of children (as the child would miss and ask for their mommies)..... then the brother of ML started to talk about “boys over girls” family relations. So all in all, the author is trying to sell you a product that she doesn’t even support herself. Brainwashing is showing here.

The story was ok not very good mainly because it was more gag/comedy than plot and I like a good plot. I would still have tried to finish reading this if it were not for one the dialogues by the ML's brother that completely ruined it for me.

Spoiler

The ML's brother literally said" Although our family is pretty open minded, there's still a big difference between a grandson born from a son and a grandson born from a daughter. ” (He's not a villain but a good character. Disappointing and insulting

A fun read! It’s very crack-y. Doesn’t take itself seriously, which has its own charms~ I know people dislike it for one reason or another, but I think, if you’re looking to just pay the time and have a couple of laughs, this is not bad at all!

CHARACTERS:

Rong Qing (MC) : His background is pretty ambiguous. All we’re told is that he’s a transmigrator with memories of the OG!MC and the novel the OG!MC’s life is based on. Not much is expose about his personal history outside from the... more>> fact that he’s pretty openly gay LOL. The character he transmigrated into is one of the male lead’s of the stories. A CEO that fell for the crafty White Lotus who created a harem with his golden finger.

When he ends up in his role, he’s fronted with said White Lotus and the Little Wolf Pup (ML). After figuring out that there’s something fishy going on with the White Lotus and excitedly want to test his new body out for a ride, he invests on the first promising Top he sees (the ML LOL). Only to be stamped with restrictions.

Lin Ji (ML) : A talented young actor that’s been in the industry for over a decade but has been struggling for the last couple of years. Before the MC invests on him, he was pretty much on his last legs and was almost made into canon fodder by the White Lotus Protagonist. He’s pretty wary of the MC at first, but exposed to his kindness and bright disposition, the feelings start to catch soon enough~

IMPORTANT SIDE CHARACTERS:

This novel has a pretty wide variety of side characters, tho a lot of them aren’t given too much screen time:

  • He Qian: Proud cat owner and secretary of MC!
  • Lin Yue & Yang Zhen: Lin Ji’s bro and brother-in-law.
  • Song Xian: “Idiot” little prince (heir of a CEO) LOL, one of the other male leads of the OG novel
  • Boss Mu: Number 1 Landlord LOL also a male lead
  • Gong Zhibai: Androgynous dad/mom friend and another male lead LOLOL
  • Che Ke & A: Another side pairing! One is a director and the other a bodyguard of MC.
SETTING:

This is a Modern Setting. More to do with rich people life than showbiz (though the first few arcs were a bit more showbiz inclined). Tbh, the worldbuilding of this story is pretty weak djdkdkdk, that’s not really the author’s strength! Most things are kept ambiguous or is not very realistic at all. But it matches the overall comedic tone of the story; so I didn’t mind so much.

PLOT:

The plot is a bit messy. At first the focus is on winning in showbiz as ActorxRichInvestor fighting against the fake White Lotus. Then it’s more richlife!shenanigans. LOLOL in between there’s small face slapping drama, etc. Altogether, it’s all over the place! With the underlying plot being the romance!

ROMANCE:

The MC is portrayed pretty childishly in this novel 😂 He has that, Cold-on-the-outside-internally-screaming-on-the-inside kind of setting and is pretty silly. This pairs very well with the ML’s seriousness. The romance between the two is definitely slow burn, but you’re pretty much eating sugar throughout because the MC is not shy about exposing his interest at all, just limited because he agrees in the beginning to find true love (and unknowingly sealed his ass until marriage in the process LOL).

RATING:

Rating for this is a 3/5! Might seem low, especially because I probably sounded like I enjoyed it a lot from this review — which is not a lie! I did in fact enjoy this a lot~ but that doesn’t mean I’m blind to it’s shortcomings JELSLSLD It’s pretty clumsy in execution, with a lot of hanging plot lines and random scenes that don’t amount to much in the end. The characters and the setting are also not the most realistic. But, eh! Even if my inner critic knows all this, I can’t help but think that it was still pretty charming regardless! So, if you’re looking for that easygoing kind of vibe and just want something to read that’s not so serious, this is a good choice! <<less

Note : This is a review based solely on my view point as a reader.

What I liked about this book

    • The comedy, the best part of this book, is well-written.
    • From the main to side characters, all had distinguishable and vibrant personalities with enough appearance time in the novel.
What I had to say about this novel

    • Some comedic parts gave me second-hand embarrassment which I could not help but to skip.
Rating : 9/10 (A good story worth reading overall but -1 points for having to skip some parts)

Initially, I was going to drop this at c2 since I couldn't get into it, but it seemed like a waste since the summary is pretty interesting. I ended up skipping the setup entirely and started at c10, and it's actually decently interesting and funny.

The "original MLs", including MC, are essentially just different kinds of "eccentric rich man". Comparing to other novels, it's really refreshing to see OMLs that have so much character and their own lives. They don't just exist to support the main CP.

In comparison, ML is definitely... more>> deserving of the "cannon fodder" title, but he's not that bad. He's a little bland, but in the way that it's just his personality that's bland, it's not that he's written blandly. Like the others, he also has his own life and doesn't just exist for the MC.

The most interesting part about the novel to me is how it feels like I'm marathoning 2 completely different shows with alternating episodes. Whenever the story goes to MC's side, it's a funny reality show about the shenanigans that the rich and famous get up to. When it goes to ML's side, it's a romantic drama about a previously underappreciated actor finally getting his big break while facing up against a new competitor, while pursuing his love. Then, on the meta side, it's also a comedy about a bottom needing to pretend to be a top for his reputation while trying to raise a top for himself.

All in all, I'm very glad I didn't immediately drop. To others reading reviews before they give this a try, I urge you to stick to it since it can take a while to get into, but if it ends up being your jam then it's a delight to read. <<less

It's okay, I'm not mad that I read it (the first time), but I'm not happy about it either. I don't recommend.

Pros

    • Fluffy, ML the best boy
    • Easy read
    • Funny moments
    • Great translation
Cons

    • Very shallow characters, especially MC
    • Lazy, forgetful writing at times
    • Story dragged on way too long
The length could have easily been only 80 to 100 chapters with the extras and it would have been better. The story dragged on and we didn't even get any closure with many of the characters. If the author said the MC was an alien or AI who transmigrated I would believe it over someone from our world. MC was way too accepting and already acted like a rich man. Also I get the author was trying to give the MC duality but it came across as annoying more than cute.

The whole story was just really shallow and repeatative.

The extra with JiRong was probably the best part of the story. But, what was with the Sweet Pea side story?! I'm not against those types of story lines, but it was so random. How did it fit in with the story at all?

Edit: just to give an idea of how forgetable/meh this story is, it is now 2.5 months later and I've already forgotten I read this hahaha. Started reading it again today thinking this was familiar and sure enough found my review. I hardly ever forget stories I've read all the way through, but this one is so vague in my memory.

Edit 2: 4 months later and found this story again, forgot again that I've read it, and started it for a 3rd time. I finally made a reading list to put this story in called "already read but forgetable" just so I would stop picking it up.

Still very much dislike the MC, the ML is wasted on him.

To be frank, this novel is kinda questionable and doesn't make my blood boil when it comes to face slapping scenes but I enjoy reading it.

Just don't use much of your brain cells and relax. It is a sweet, comedic, and a light-hearted novel.

Spoiler

The title itself is what the MC really did and not finding love. He just randomly point someone, raise him to become a perfect seme, shower him with money and hide the fact that he invested in every film the ML in to the public. Eventually fall in love with each other and wait for 2-3 years to get married and papapa. Happily ever after. Yey!

Since he transmigrated to a questionable harem novel, expect that government is blind and people kneel to the rich kind of situation.

[collapse]

At first, I enjoyed the monologue of the MC but later on I find it childish, arrogant and kinda annoying. A complete OOC of his image as a heartless money making machine wealthy big boss. He's like a high school or a college student that got an opportunity to be a wealthy man. Haha. No distinct character development. He bacame more aggressive in flaunting wealth and money and a gossiper.

The ML is too perfect... (no comment)

If only the author explore deeper to the main plot and not forcing the MC and ML to have a smooth sailing life, and randomly shipping characters that don't even match.

The author just wasted many face-slapping opportunities. The author is kinda tired or lazy explaining the crucial parts and just forwarded the time or skipping it and adding headaches at the extra chapters. Tsk tsk

Hey author! You think that I can't feel and see your emotions while writing this novel.

Not even bothered to give names to the bodyguards A and Z. Pei! How am I to fully eat dog food if I didn't even know bodyguard A's name.

My baby Chu Ke got married to a man named Bodyguard A. WTF! Please give him a name I'm begging you!

The translation is good and easy to read. Thank you translator-san. <<less

When I finished the book I couldnt help but let out "finally!!"

Its a good story yes. But the plot was too repetitive. I feel like 155 chapters were too much, the author could have omitted lots of scenes in it. The parts where RQ flaunts his money to his "friends" everytime is quite annoying. Once, twice or even thrice is ok but to continuously do that, makes one feel annoyed upon reading the same thing again. Someone mentioned that he looked like those annoying rich girls and I cant help but agree.

If upon reading a book and somehow in the middle you starts getting bored of the plot, you just know the rest of the book is going to be bad.

The supposedly main character XZ, he was really insignificant compared to RQ flaunting his money.

Oh well if you are someone looking for a story without that much of a plot and lots of "dog food" you came to the right place
