After receiving his terminal illness diagnosis, Chu Xun could finally let go of everything. The most important thing of being alive is after all, one’s own happiness.

Dumping a jerk, getting back at his as*hole colleagues, firing his dumbass boss, staying in a luxurious house, enjoying a feast and bedding a young, energetic and handsome guy—Chu Xun very coolly did what he didn’t dare to do in the past!

All his savings were spent and as he laid down waiting for his death, the doctor apologetically told him, “I’m so sorry, we misdiagnosed you.”

“…” Chu Xun felt faint.

He did another checkup and thought, he did feel unwell recently though?

The doctor looked grim.

Chu Xun’s heart skipped a beat. “Don’t tell me it wasn’t a misdiagnosis after all. Am I sick?”

Doctor: “You do not have a terminal illness, but you are… You are pregnant.”

Chu Xun: “???” Ermm, he’s a guy?

And later, the child’s father, that young, energetic and handsome man, who also happened to be a 26-year-old billionaire, Lin Yanchen, appeared and handed out a marriage certificate already signed by him. “I’ll take responsibility. Let’s get married.”

Chu Xun only realised now that his 30-years-late love life, as though blooming blossoms, was flooding in.

Bro this novel was already bad as it was, but my bottom line was when the MC got mad that the ML wasn't a "young boy". You see MC had specifically ordered a young boy for a s*x escort. So...

These kinds of people- I Know the author tried to mask it with the atleast "21" BS but the pe*ophilia undertones are just so disgusting to me 🤮 Especially for a 30 y/o ancestor.

And the way they keep mentioning "young boy", "young man" ewwwww

I just want to say that this is my first time writing a review, and this novel is phenomenal! There are your typical misunderstandings but the author has a really nice way of controlling time in the novel, the characters are really well-thought out. There's none of that 300 chapter long conflict, some parts are a bit iffy but I do love this novel.

It is Mpreg, but regardless of that, it doesn't hinder the story. It's such a heart-warming and sad (at the beginning) story. I would totally recommend this... more>> for anyone who wants a really fluffy and logical story, the story actually makes sense and the MC and ML are perfectly capable people. The realism also just adds that *chef's kiss* to the story.

Definitely read it! <<less

Waaaaa~~ T_T

so touching... so sweet, in some parts I was crying. The MC and ML made a perfect family...

I think, it will only happen in fantasy, how envious. That's why reading this novel gave me a bittersweet aftertaste.

What a beautiful story! Read BR if you're looking for some fluff and heart warming scenes.

I may have also cried in one or two occasions whilst reading this. I can't help it was a very lovely read!

CX and LYZ are a match made in heaven. ❤️❤️❤️ JiuJiu is a lovely child. 😍 Sadly the update stopped at 110. I hope someone picks this up, I'm excited to read about their life after the wedding! Kudos to shokotranslates and Chrysanthemum Garden for their quality translation on this novel. Cheers~

Had to drop because it made me unreasonably angry. The MC is just so... annoying and kind of selfish? Honestly the entire book was not my vibe it gives off this very melancholy feel.

I didn’t even really like when the leads were out having fun together because there was just this sad undertone.

But then what ultimately ended up annoying me was that the MC just made every decision for himself without asking for MLs opinion at all. “I’ve decided we’re breaking up, not because I don’t like you, but because... more>> I’ve decided this won’t work out” and “I’ve decided your not going to be able to see your own son born because I’m a selfish prick”. Like, he basically just decided how other people would feel and refused to even consider that maybe he should like... communicate???

Nothing frustrates me more than drama caused by lack of communication. The more I’m thinking about it, the more annoyed this is making me lol.

Anyways needless to say I wasn’t a fan. Sad too because I thought ML was a refreshing gong. He’s humorous and fun-loving, which is unusual for the genre. <<less

I rate this a solid 3 stars. At first I really liked Chu Xun. There were times when I teared up so much. Those moments with his parents were so well written.

Spoiler

When he told them about his terminal illness it was heartbreaking.

[collapse]

But I found him to be quite self righteous in many things he did. I think the author majorly dropped the ball in regard to his development. However....

Spoiler

He had a child for 2 years and didnt contact the father. He knew where he lived in England, he didnt look at his social media... his excuses or not contacting him for 2 years were ridiculous. The reunion after 2 years between the MC and ML and him finding out about his child was the most unrealistic scene I have ever read. MC became angry with the ML for wanting to work in the same city as him and his child...A bunch of different things with his character began to irk me. My favourite character is actually Chu Xuns father. I found him well rounded and likable.

[collapse]

I usually MTL any bl I enjoy but I think I will wait for the translation to see how it ends. It really isnt worth the mental strength it takes to fully understand MTLs. I do recommend you read if you arent irritated by poorly written scenes. What made me finally abandon MTLing this was that each important scene after the and MC has reunited was poorly written. There were major tearjerker moments and funny moments and also moments that are so sweet your teeth will hurt. I did enjoy this at first and I am certain you will too. I do think this story is generally likable but I am also interested in well written scenes and I do think the author messed up in some major ways in regard to this which made me lose my enthusiasm. <<less

I haven't read half the novel yet, but I think its close enough to say I'm exasperated! I came for the fluff!! Where the hell is my family fluff??? I was NOT told there would be so much drama so yes, I'm a little disappointed.

Don't get me wrong, the drama makes sense and it's nothing convoluted but I really don't see the need to make it this long.

Actually, no. It is a well written story, I just came to it expecting a very different one, so I'm a little impatient... more>> to get to the part I want. So be warned for the drama!! <<less

(c8) it's super cute, yet it also raises a lot of good questions about what's important in life and how to live it.

I'm a bit sad the description is a big spoiler as up to where I am, our character still believe he's sick. At the same time I would not have read if I did not know. But still some surprises could be kept

This is a really great novel with some of my favorite features, like an older bottom/puppy top combo, minimal time wasted on face slapping shitty side characters, and lots and lots of dog food. The love story develops very naturally, and the characters themselves always behave in consistent and understandable ways. Personally, I liked the ML more, but it's probably because I can relate a lot to the MC, and therefore find things in his personality that I don't like too much in mine. As it goes.

Lin Yanchen is one... more>> of the most endearing MLs out there, as the most loving and kind hearted partner from literal day one. He's so sincere in his actions and he gives his all to make MC happy, making changes in his life immediately to support MC and show just how much he cares. It was so funny how he just went with the flow after being mistaken for a prostitute, and I loved his easygoing and upbeat nature. He basically is sunshine personified, and I only want good things for him. Truly the most green flag ML you could possibly find.

On the other hand, MC is definitely a work in progress, and he definitely had his moments where I felt like ML deserved better because of how MC was treating him. However, every time I found myself annoyed by his communication skills or behavior towards the ML, I could actually understand where he was coming from. His thoughts were very reasonable and though he wasn't always perfect, it made him feel that much more real. I really liked how the author slowly built his character development, as he healed his relationships with his parents and fully allowed ML into his life. Definitely a great character arc, and one that makes a lot of sense for his character as well! At his core, MC is also a good person :)

It's mostly a fluffy story, but given that the premise is a terminal illness diagnosis, there's some pretty heart wrenching moments. I cried multiple times despite myself, with the family relationships in particular hitting hard. Not really a fan of mpreg, but this novel is good enough for me to ignore the scientific impossibilities and the reactions to MC's pregnancy and child are too funny. MC and ML have so much fun together, and despite their occasional disagreements, they're able to work through them and emerge stronger together. It's not a perfect relationship all the time, but that's what makes it feel more genuine.

The writing is very easy to read, and it's overall a feel good novel once the initial pain of the first half of the novel passes. Definitely enjoyed this one! <<less

It's really funny and sweet.

I stopped reading a long while ago but now I've resumed and it's totally worth it.

Not too angsty but there is angst. Many plot twists. Not anything bad tho- well not until now

Also ML is not abusive unlike most stories like this. In fact he's really cute.

Overall, there're also constant updates, so it's a story worth to keep up with.

After reading this novel, I came to a realisation that key to most of the problem is communication. Sometimes we go round and round, thinking about a problem pointlessly when it could be solved by saying a few words to someone. Most of the time our ego, stubbornness and pride stop us from doing so. Seriously, in this whole novel, I think there would be no more than 30 chapters if the characters had some heart to heart talk and had some self realisation.

Spoiler

MC could not come to a self realisation that he was being used by that Ji guy.

MC most of the time tries to make the decisions for both of them and is really stubborn, sometimes I find it really annoying. He kind of feel to be on his period cycles when talking to ML. But I can understand his behaviour a little as he is a guy, he has his own pride

ML and his father are people who are in the most need to have a proper talk. ML misunderstands his father way too much and his father too don't know how to convey his feelings

I'm all for cute buns & face-slaps, but this story was kind of garbo. Premise reeled me in, but the execution was incredibly subpar. MC & ML are both mediocre characters. I like the setup of the situation i.e., how they met & fell in love. But the miscommunication, the misunderstandings, the familial issues- pretty rubbish if you ask me. I'm not gonna plan on continuing, but my heart goes out for the little bun!

The beginning of this novel was bittersweet. Although it's stated clearly in the summary that MC's illness was a misdiagnosis, it was still painful to follow MC as he tried to accept his death and reveal his diagnosis to his family while trying to make the best of his last days.

Together, MC and ML were cute as one was mature and easy going while the other was rambunctious. Once MC and ML reunited, however, the story became a little dry. All fluff with no substance. There were a few misunderstandings... more>> that were quickly cleared up. One major point of contention was that MC had wanted to wait he was strong enough to stand on equal terms with ML, but that never really happened. Rather, they just got together and got married.

This is one of those novels that I believe shouldn't have had its extras written as they really contribute nothing to the plot and only made more open ends.

Spoiler

The introduction of the side CP in the extras was wholly unnecessary, although I think it was probably a segue for the author's other work in the same world, The Unaccomplished Mr. Zhuang [没出息的庄先生] featuring MC's former boss.

At first I was a little hesitating with the "complex family" tag and the misunderstanding going for too long or dogblood everywhere and stuff, but I decide to give it a shot an oh darling, I'm so glad I did. With a really good translation, this novel is super sweet at the beginning, and even if the drama it's not overdramatic, I was tears, but I really suck for this particular kind of plots, but if you want a clear understanding of the story development, see spoilers below.

The beginning: spoiler... more>> warning
Spoiler

Everything is good, fluffy and heart warming 'till chapter 34 where Chu Xu and Lin Yanchen split. The thing is, Chu Xu (as in the synopsis) was diagnosed with an terminal illnes, say "F*ck you" to the world, realizing he was really unhappy and decide to go for it, just let it go and spent the rest of his life in pleasure, bucket list type of mindset, so first thing was to have s*x. Aha, our darling is as pure as jade so he wanted a good round with an atractive boy in a luxurious hotel, but he will never imagined that the young and handsome guy that arrived at his room was not his booty call. Here both of our characters pop their cherry and think to themselves "wow, this man is really interesting", with Chu Xu buying the ML as a boyfriend for a month. Super fluffy interaction for 30 caps where they fall in love with both of them holding secrets from each other.

[collapse]

The split up: spoiler warning
Spoiler

Chapter 34, everything falls down, everyone is crying and it's just so sad and frustrating, but even when you now it's a misuderstanding, you really don't know even with the thruth how is Lin Yanchen is going to react to the "Hey, I'm alive!" situation. Another thing I thing was super moving was the interaction, the healing part of both Chu Xu and Lin Yanchen and their parents. I mean, I now that there are bad parents out there, but if you have the opportunity to heal your relationship with the ones that give you birth, even if it's not all love and hugs, that can give you inside peace. I really like that.

[collapse]

Reading chapter 58 I can assure you, if you come from a really heavy dogblood drama, this is healing 100%, if you came from a tragic ending or a BE, this is pure bliss, or even if you just fisnish your reading list and are searching for something fluffy, this will be more than enough. The relationship is one of the healthiest I have read (nothing the possesive-psycho ML or good for nothing MC), they have flaws? Well, as everyone else. Please give it a shot, you will not regret it! <<less

They're so cute and adorable.

Chu Xun is just like Chen Lingou from Perfect Destiny.

They were both almost become a safe but when they got a taste of the fruit they become wild unlike their character.

... more>> Hahaha...

The first part of the story made me cry so much.

Specially the part when MC reunite with his parents. His dad was a tsun. Hahaha.

But seriously if I was the one who led to think that I was dying and then suddenly the doctor said that I was misdiagnosed. Men~ I would explode.

But overall this story is good. The fluff is enough and the drama is well thought. The misunderstanding between family is solve. And it's a HE.

But I really thought they're going to have another baby. <<less

Definitely different from most Chinese BL novels in that it is a

older, more mature, and likes to tease the ML, Shou x younger, childish, constantly being led by the nose, Gong

the gong first comes off as a capable cold and handsome person, but after getting smitten by the MC, he becomes super sweet and childish, acting as if he’s a child

... more>> the Shou at first is very depressed and closed off, but slowly warms up to the gong though it takes him a while to accept the gong’s affections

This is a great read! The ML's personality is so refreshing; not your typical cold and overbearing CEO/Billionaire. Lol I also love the MC's realistic reaction. If I were in his shoes, I'll do the same. Why not, though, I thought I'm going to die? :)

This book started really well then eventually gets boring along the way the characters are nice but that alone can not sustain me to finish reading it so after read 20 chapters I started to skim through the book until I reach chapter 54 got way to bored to care anymore. I think if the author give the characters a good story put them on a real journey it would be nice but it’s not good the book really waste my time.
(it’s not 💯 percent bad either so it you read the synopsis and like it considered giving it a try)

OMG, I should just dropped this novel. The MC is too selfish I didn't think I would want to slap a 2D character this bad before. Other reviewers already pointed out how horrible this MC is so I won't do it but let's just said there is little character development and it seems like the character even regress to worst than the beginning of the story. Lots of inconsistencies in the characters too.

Finished reading this since 2019. Reread it til c63. I even wonder now how I completed this irrational novel 😅

Everything is irrational and unreasonable. From ML and MC personality to lack of character development etc.

Honestly, I couldn't understand the MC with his leap of character, its like his personality changed 180 degrees and becomes unreasonable and selfish. For ML, his personality is very unrealistic as someone who is very powerful. Author mentioned that d reason has something to do with his company is gaming/entertainment which I find a little unrealistic.
