Xie Chi is a patient with multiple personality disorder. On the surface, he is educated and gentle but the secondary personality is cold, ruthless, and powerful, with explosive strength.

Xie Chi can never fall in love with others because the secondary personality is his boyfriend.

Xie Chi’s only dream is to one day embrace his lover.

In order to realize his dream, Xie Chi willingly bound with the Horror Movie Actor App. The app regularly releases horror movie notices such as Spirit in Red Clothes, Zombie Lovers, 1552 Haunted House, etc…

Selected actors will be placed in a real horror environment to survive.

On the first day of filming, the first male lead with a dirty personality blocked Xie Chi in the corner. “Follow me and I’ll help you be the second male lead.”

Xie Chi smiled softly and shook his head. “That isn’t enough.”

The first male lead was dumbfounded.

This is one of the best novels in chrysanthemum garden! I love the split personality theme but there aren't alot of good novels that portray it. The MC and ML are so cute together! I love it! I always love what chrysanthemum garden puts out, but this is the best!

This might be a controversial opinion but I think this story is not as good as people make it seem like it is.

The arcs are intressting but that's it they are creative but incredible boring the same can be said about everything else. The characters? Boring. The plot? Boring. The romance? Boring. Nothing in this exited me which was to me was the most terrible thing about this novel because this is the complete opposite of what it should have done. It's a horror novel for god's sake the whole... more>> point of it is to make me feel! Not even the romance was good it was just there they showed their love for each other and normally I would have eat it up but I just didn't feel anything but boredom. Even the ending the big revel was a complete waste of time to me it was written in a way that just made me think oh and that was it. I honestly feel a bit baffled when I finished it because a lot of people hyped it up and I keep on thinking that maybe it would get better because it had potential but nothing happened. To be completely honest the only thing I still remember of this story was one of the arcs

Anyway, I don't really care if people read it or not because honestly it was just okay and if I'm going to be honest think there are a lot of better-unlimited flow stories than this. I can to some degree see why people like this story but I don't really agree with how much hype it has and why it kinda got the title of the best unlimited flow story. But at the same time this could just be my opinion. <<less

this was pretty good over all but it's certainly a strong to stronger type story. If you don't like OP MC than you wont like the story. It had its flaws and there was more dog food and fluff than I expected for a horror focused novel. The MC was clever and interesting and the split personality thing was a nice twist which made up for his occasional blushing maiden/ damsel in distress moments. The ML was the typical domineering, arrogant, possessive type. I thought the story was mostly fun and tension free until the last bit, though to be honest, for all the build up they gave the evil Pet organization at the start the actual end confrontation felt anticlimactic.

I was expecting several escalating battles, tension between factions, maybe some intrigue, a battle of wits between the MC and the organization, more attempts to kill the MC and a few more near death escapes, not just a single confrontation in the tarot movie (the very next red movie available after his "dad" is killed) and then it's never mentioned again. I think I'll have to reread the end once it comes out, maybe I missed something in the MTL.

I love it...

The MC shou (XC) is so smart and the ML gong (XX) is so strong, they are OP and I really like their personalities. For me they are the perfect CP. So caring and loving of each other.

  1. I really love the story logic and the arcs, although it's a bit confusing sometimes. It's so good, I will never be able to think like that.
  2. And I really like the MC's friends, they are really loyal.
  3. The commentaries are just the cherry on top. It's funny and entertaining.
  4. There is so much unexpected information that will shock you. And every time I read this novel I feel so excited, for me it's just so thrilling.
  5. The comedy, romance, horror and mystery blend in perfectly for me.
I love this type of novels, I just... more>> wish that we have more of this kind of stuff.

Hmm, won't rate this since I didn't get far. (But 5 stars for the translation!)

I'll focus on some of my personal cons. For the pros, you can check out the other reviews.

  1. Typical cold possessive jealous ML. Xie Chi spent half of his time solving the plot line and the other half appeasing the ML's jealous nature.
  2. No horror element at all! Every time Xie Chi faces a crisis, he just needs to switch to the Big Boss and the Big Boss will solve everything.
  3. This has more of a romance than a survival game focus. The author interrupts the plot line too many times to show how much Xie Chi and the ML loves each other.
  4. Anyway, this novel isn't for me.

It's not a horror story. So, if you're looking for a scary plot, this is not for you. It's more like a detective story and at the end of each arc you'll get the moral of the story about human nature.

Maybe I've read too many detective stories that I find this novel just good/neutral. There are parts that are kinda boring/dragging since some chapters are long and sometimes repetitive.

The deduction made in some arcs and the plot...I think were simple, but the author made a lot of effort for the last arc, the Tarot Game. The author made the plot a little complicated. I especially like the "heart" part. The Living Hell arc has simple plot, but I like the idea of the jellyfish liken to hell. Regarding the MC and ML, they were very OP, maybe because of the demigod gene. But the side character Ren Ze was a bit nosy and annoying. It's like he had a character flip after he partnered with the Xie Chi. He became dependent on XC and his IQ degraded, makes me wonder how did he become the top 2 new actor. I even think Lu Wen was a better sidekick. And Ren Ran was forgotten, she never appeared after the haunted mansion arc. Anyway, it was interesting that XC and XX can be both awake in one body, unlike RZ and RR that needs the other personality to sleep when one was taking over the body.

Just awesome novel. ML and MC chemistry is so nice. They r a couple with extreme understanding and trust. ML never doubt MC actions and words. And MC is very smart and ML is physically powerful who know to use 18 types of weapon. But ML is smart enough to cooperate and keep up with MC thoughts. Their dynamic is good and in between horror condition, their flirting will give u peace and let u relax. They r understanding of each other as they r each other personality. Their relationship... more>> is intriguing and it was too refreshing to see them talk in mind. Love them both. MC is clear with what he wants. 2nd couple is also cute. MC and ML really work hard for what they got. Not like everything is on their plate, sometimes u will think oh they r really in hard condition but then they saved themselves. I mean u can feel the full suspense and they r not really OP actually. They r powerful and smart and become more powerful gradually. Their love and devotion is strong to each other. I was ready to put this down as my #1. Everything about this was exceptional. The writer knows how to write brilliantly. They layer plots and subplots, the mysteries in each arc are discoverable by the reader even though they're legit so clever. Despite there being a stronger and weaker personality, they both contribute equally.

The only reason this isn't a 5 star for me is because of the ending. The biggest of spoilers are below.

Reincarnation. I hate it when people are reincarnated and fall for the same person they fell for in their original life. I hate it when pretty much everything in their new life is down to their old life. It makes everything before it feels contrived. I know there are some readers that can't see subtext, and I think the author got worried their readership was too dumb in the final two arcs. But this us a book for people who aren't scared to think. It needed to leave minor things for the reader to guess.

The perfect ending for this would be the final death of the big boss saying 'you are.. ' Then end with a small chapter with XC reviving Xinglang and smiling. We would have known he was a demigod, but the reincarnation bit was unnecessary.

This is a great lesson for all writers. Don't be so obsessed with tying things up that you choke out your reader's imagination and make your book silly.

This still gets 4 stars from me because of everything but the ending was so incredibly good. <<less

I don't see much review on this novel so here I am, coming here and writing a review.

So, where do I begin with how much this novel mean to me. Did I cry while reading this? Maybe a little. Did I almost sh*t myself while reading this? Well, certainly, and Did I fell in love with this novel? I did.

This novel is phenomenal. Like, other reviews said, this is well written and the plot is solid. However, more than the plot, for me the character somehow seem to be alive.... more>> The main characters and supporting characters have their own personality. The author didn't just yeet the characters out of the window just because they are supporting characters.

What more important is that, in this novel, somehow— well, all the characters seem to have a purpose, and that intrigued me. They aren't just character character. They are more like, "omg this character maybe a character but they seem so alive."

Second, this novel is like I said phenomenal. It has a flavor that others doesn't and what unique to me is that, unlike other novels ( not putting other novel down. they all have their uniqueness.) the main character, Xie Chi can basically represent a narcissist to the finest. The plot twist literally... is just proving the fact of how narcissistic he can be and I love that. It felt unique.

Also, this novel literally promote self loving. You wanna know how to be a narcissist and a pro at self loving? Well, take Xie Chi as an example.

Third, the arc (s). Don't get me started on them. I love all the arc but as always, there's always gonna be that special arc for you. I have arc (s) which I favor over others and if you read it, you will too. The arcs are fun and the twist inside the arc are just chef kiss. It's so satisfying. It's like, you think you finally figure out something and BAM, there's more than that.

  • Superb plot
  • MC/ML aren’t OP and there are times you’ll be like “wtf... is this the end for them?!” especially in the first few arcs where they didn’t have good items
  • Arcs are unique, love the Living Hell arc the most

  • I feel that MC/ML’s relationship with the side characters aren’t that established, I get that they get along and stuff but sometimes it feels so superficial. For example, Yan Jing and Lu Wen

    we don’t get to see MC interact with them much after 3-4 Arcs, and there are a lot of arcs. Yan Jing is still MC’s agent but in the later arcs, we only get to see Yan Jing when MC tells him “find me a suitable /color/ movie” or something. I think after Lu Wen decided to go back to zombie movies, we don’t get to see him at all after, maybe he was only added in a line after MC finished the final arc

  • Definitely worth the read.
  • If you’ve read similar plots to this then better read this because is different.
  • If you enjoy plots like these, I recommend: Kaleidoscope of Death (the best!! I still have w/drawal symptoms from finishing this novel) and Earth is Online (although EIO isn’t a thriller, it’s still really good).

However their chemistry is really good. It may sound weird at 1st that both are in the same person but give it a try, you will find the dynamic very natural.

It doesn't seem long because of arc distribution. The mystery, thrill, brain stroming is really good.

The story was very good. The MC & ML have strong personalities and are likeable and the horror movies are interesting and fun. While the romance is sweet the novel is really about the mystery of the movie actor app.

"A combination of absolute wisdom and absolute force" is an accurate description of this novel.

This novel is absolutely amazing.

It has exceeded my already high expectations within the horror-mystery unlimited flow genre and stands out as one of the best and most unique unlimited flow novels in my opinion so far (just the fact that the MC and ML are literally living in the same body is mind-blowing enough, lol).

The multiple storylines of each copy are novel and complex. They are well-proportioned and constructed, without the story being too lengthy, repetitive,... more>> or stuck in a loophole. The pacing is also perfect, maintaining a smooth and engaging narrative throughout the story.

While both MC and ML might appear so overwhelmingly powerful that it's easy to predict that they will eventually achieve their goals, the story remains far from boring; in fact, it's incredibly exciting! I couldn't even put it down.

Despite my IQ falling short of the MC's (lol), it's still interesting to read a novel that requires some brain exercise once in a while, and my lazy ass enjoys reading this a lot. In the end, I just can't find any fault with this novel. I definitely recommend this to everyone! <<less

This is the horror novel game I like the most. The characters, plot and game details are excellent. Usually the horror game novels that I read ML are too powerful and MC is underneath whether it's ingenuity or strength but here it is balanced. Each of the stories was very stressful and made me dizzy.

I really like Xie Chi and Xie Xinglan, they complement each other. The writers are also good because in every story they are not very OP and have to go through several scenes to understand. Ah... more>> anyway very good!

I highly recommend reading this! It's an interesting spin on a relationship since the ML and MC reside in the same body.

They are very sweet to each other and I absolutely love it when the ML drinks vinegar because the MC would blush and no one would know why! The audience reaction during the movies makes me feel like there are two comments sections and it's really amusing.

The way MC would trick others is an eye-opener and he's really smart and logical. ML is very doting but the brawn to... more>> the MC's brain! Together they are an amazing power couple!

The characters are unique, the translation is done well, and it's an overall enjoyable read! <<less

It is amazing.

I admit I was not really pleased with the opness in the first arc. Like it seemed a bit simple because it was in novice level. But I was proved wrong in the second arc. The plot is interesting and has logic. The side characters are fleshed out but the antagonists are just a bit one dimensional. They have their own goals but it just happens that antagonists are just people harming others. They have no depth. I would have prefered a good antagonist.

this story is really different from others. Our MC and ML reside in one body. It's unsure if it's split personality or if two souls reside in one body. The app is able to fulfill one of the player/actor's desire. The consequence of failing the task is death. Our MC chooses the play the game in turn to give the ML his own body.

I’ve gone through two arcs using MTL, and gosh, this is so cute! I like how the author actually puts in the “trance” part where they switch alters; in other words, when Xie Chi dissociates and switches with Xie Xinglian. It’s cool to see Dissociative Identity Disorder in a novel~ XC and XXL have such cute dialogue together and the side characters are pretty sweet, I can’t wait for this novel to get updated more.

I'm actually upset at the rating I'm giving this novel because I really had such high expectations going in. The premise was so unique with the double personality, and the first few arcs were very interesting and I was having fun, but the way that the story drops off is really no joke. I seriously almost dropped this novel before the last arc with that major plot point which I won't spoil, but safe to say I had to run to the extras to see if I wanted to keep... more>> reading lol

The plot just wasn't interesting after a certain point because of how obvious it became that MC was going to triumph over everyone, while delivering a long monologue in the process about all his brilliant deductions. I really don't mind an OP protag, so long as they have some other interesting personality traits but unfortunately, this MC has absolutely nothing else going for him except his brilliance. He's really just not compelling for me at all as a character, and it got so tiring the way the author kept comparing him to everyone and raising this MC up like he was a literal god of knowledge and ability.

The relationship between MC and ML is also a bit boring, as it's an established relationship, and there's honestly not much relationship or character development. While the relationship is cute and I liked the way ML would tease MC, it's also really not the focus of the novel. Most of this story is on the "movies" that MC goes into, where he's assigned a role and has to survive. The premise isn't super clear to be honest.

The overall plot line isn't too well planned either, as some of the arcs were way too convoluted and tedious for me, and didn't feel like they were building up to anything. I tend to enjoy more character driven novels, and while there's a lot of characters in this, they're all pretty one dimensional, and the plot tends to be a little too all over the place for any consistency. MC has a lot of scenes where he's just standing around analyzing the plot to all the other confused "actors" and I personally did not care for it lol

Villains are really dumb and MC pretty much easily triumphs over all of them. The climax of the novel was so anti-climactic and it was honestly so disappointing for a novel that had started off so thrilling. I had to go back and re-read the climactic chapter because it felt like I had missed something what with how unfulfilled I felt, but no it really was just a let down.

The two side characters Shen Yi and Su Qing actually add a lot of excitement to the plot, especially since there's so many mysteries, and I definitely went on a rollercoaster of emotions with their relationship despite them barely showing up. Honestly I liked them more than the main couple and wish they had more scenes. Su Qing is such a cutie, I'm really disappointed he didn't have more of a role in the novel. I literally read this entire novel just to get to the extras where he finally had some screen time. Probably the most emotions I felt in this novel were reading the side couple's (albeit too short) side story.

It actually makes me a little upset thinking about how few scenes those two had because I was extremely attached to them both, but to be fair if they had more scenes it probably would have been hard to keep the MC interesting since Shen Yi has such main character energy. MC's only character trait is basically being smarter than everyone else and I feel like the author would have really struggled to write a movie with Shen Yi and MC both participating while making it convincing that Shen Yi had made it as a movie emperor what with the constant narrative of MC being smarter than everyone. Shen Yi would have made for a great MC in his own novel though that's for sure!

Honestly not sure how to rate as it's overall a decent unlimited flow novel with some really unique plots, but a lot of the story went over my head and I unfortunately liked the side characters much more than the main ones. This also isn't a novel I was compelled to read all in a single sitting, and I ended up taking a few breaks between arcs as MC was too boring a character design for me. A few arcs I even skimmed as the quality of each movie is pretty inconsistent and some plots just make no sense.

The author info dumps a lot and the ending in particular was a ton of information at once without much of a warning or really any buildup. Characters got brought up again that I had completely forgotten about and I'll be honest, I still am confused. The ending was abrupt and the main couple's relationship really did not feel like it got any closure what with how little time we got with them not sharing a body.

Also side note but something that really bothered me is how ML is apparently so much stronger when he's in control despite the fact that it's literally the same body they're sharing?? An unexplained plot point that really did bother me, but it's just another cheat code to make MC even more OP than he already is. <<less
