This is a story that can be summed up by the words "p*rn-driven plot". While that is not necessarily a bad thing, it doesn't really lead to much more than finding excuses for the two leads to bone. There are some good points to the story but it's very overshadowed by the smut which is a little... different at times.

Also, the story starts with an incident and then does a 100-chapter (roughly) flashback to how that played out.

The MC is Leah, the only... more>> Princess of Estia, who is to be married to a Margrave. The MC alternates between cowering in fear and showcasing the attitude of a princess (you may get whiplash depending on how fast you read). She has dedicated her entire life to the royal family and her country but feels utterly betrayed by what is happening. So she chooses to do the one thing that would ruin the Queen's plans and go have pre-marital s*x with someone other than her future husband. This leads her straight into the path of the ML.

In reality, Leah has been brainwashed by the Queen who is her stepmother. This woman controls everything about the Princess. From how much she eats to her behaviour. This is done through mild starvation, physical abuse and magic. All of that has resulted in a nearly completely broken woman who believes her only way out is to become a "spoiled product" by having s*x and then fully intends to kill herself.

The ML's intervention is to screw the will to live back into her which surprisingly works.

The ML is Ishakan, the King of the Kurkans, who steals her away in the first chapter before it switches to the events leading up to that bride kidnapping. It involves him posing as a gigolo and seducing the Princess. The ML is bestial and acts like the stereotypical "wolf". Especially once he has chosen the MC as his mate.

Ishakan is actually the most extreme version of a Kurkan. To the point that he is immune to magic spells and practically loses his reason when it comes to s*x with the MC. During their wedding ritual, he had to be chained to a pillar because it put him in a rut like a beast. And yes, he does knot her. Apparently, his pen*s swells because it is described as looking like a normal one.

This kind of s*x is also the only way for a Kurkan to reproduce which means they can have s*x as much as they want as long as they don't lose their rationality (or whatever you want to consider the equivalent here).

The first part storyline follows the MC and ML in Estia prior to her kidnapping for about 100 chapters. Almost all of this is from the MC's point of view so we just think the MC is traumatized by her cruel half-brother and the Queen but eventually, we are shown that she is under the Queen's magic. It is at this point that the story decides to just go straight to p*rn logic and engage in s*xual healing.

The ML's body fluids are potent magical ingredients that can be used to reduce other spells. So, his sorcerer suggests that he regularly feeds the MC his s**en. Which is not something I ever thought I would write out.

The story only kind of degenerates from there. Especially given that we get two time skips (three weeks for one and two months for the other) so that the author didn't have to write their journey or how the MC acted while brainwashed.

The author wrote the MC as unconscious for the entire escape from Estia to the Kurkan capital. I do get it, writing a journey with nothing happening is pretty boring but it was just strange. The second time jump was clearly because the author did not want to detail how the MC was now fawning over the Crown Prince (who really only has one thought and is dedicated to possessing the MC).

It just makes the story feel a little disjointed as we are quickly told about how they were acting and how the ML was losing his mind over the MC.

Also, the spell to switch her love from the ML to the Crown Prince was interesting but at the same time, really weird. It completely erased the traces of the ML from her mind even though he's a diplomatic figure that she would have known about since he was the King of another nation.

The Queen also brainwashed all the nobles but like everyone seemed to forget that the MC had become the Queen of the Kurkans (or that she had been kidnapped by the ML). Even the poor people forgot it.

I did like the ending as it did not treat the antagonists lightly. The main one does receive a rather brutal end.

All of the front line guys who were sent to kill or capture the MC end up getting killed by the ML or the other Kurkans. The ML is very fond of ripping people apart with his bare hands.

One of the Crown Prince's concubines tries to have the MC violated to "put her in her place". This results in the ML ripping her head from her body off-screen and giving it to the Crown Prince.

The Crown Prince gets stabbed in the heart by the MC.

The Queen loses control of her power after her son's death and ends up stabbed by the ML with a special sword which prevents her from using her magic. He then rips off her arms. She then gets to spend the next however long (it's not specified) as an armless beggar in the streets of Estia's capital. Eventually, she is brought before the MC who then gives the order for her to be killed but leaves it up to her Kurkan followers to decide. It's implied that the Queen is brutally torn apart slowly.

So in closing, I liked this but it's got a lot of problems. There are better written stories and better written smut but it's a nice (and kinda steamy) way to spend an evening.

Not related to the rating but I also have to say that the initial translator's choice of words also made me laugh like a hyena. In no realm of anything should the word "acorns" be used to describe something in smut. <<less

I understand that you kind of are expected to suspend judgement when there is a race in a story that is somewhere between "beasts" and humans, but reorganisation of the tax system yet again in a short period of time? By the supposedly weak princess, who is disregarded by all and basically will be sold off? In a society where women have no say? What terrible inconsistencies, this is basically an insult to the readership. Who actually holds the power in the royal family - and how on earth do they manage to hold on to that power when the one busy with all the state affairs is some "powerless" young woman (I forget how old she is, but probably late teens? early twenties?). Perhaps the author should consider consulting some political science books.

Furthermore, and I do not consider this a spoiler, this girl could literally have slept with any servant in the palace, why take the risk and look for trouble. The whole thing is non-sensical. Finally, how could anyone reading this think that a person who easily accepts that their partner in bed is crying and obviously is unwilling despite agreeing (I mean, if you ever were intimate in any way with another person (I literally mean just being friends here) - this kind of thing you can tell pretty quickly) is "sweet"? Can you imagine this situation in reality - you cry and want to escape but they keep coming at you??? This is not legally r*pe, I suppose, since she certainly consented, but this is regardless a bizarre situation.

She literally could have just killed herself before, if she really wanted to die as she so sorrowfully claims. Why bother with the whole ordeal of losing v**ginity? The MC is basically a genius at making self-harming choices and decisions, she is not clever and I can never imagine her dealing with court intrigue in a way, that would allow her to be in the position to change tax collection systems.

If you are here only for the smut, then look no further as this is the story for you. Instead, if you want a more interesting story with three dimensional characters and engaging plot, you should skip it. It's a stereotypical story about a delicate damsel in distress who can't help blushing and get flustered when the incredibly hot, a bit savage but sweet inside guy is near. I thought that the premise could be interested, exploring the theme of a depressed woman who wants to die but slowly finds... more>> her will to live again. Clearly I was expecting too much as the situation is quickly resolved thanks to the lucky encounter with the irresistible male lead and the usual romance between a shy woman and hot man ensues. Am I a bit harsh on the novel? Maybe but I wanted more originality or engaging characters who don't fall in the usual generic patterns. <<less

This is one of the best smut novels ever! It’s only been 11 chapters but the chemistry between the characters, the flow of the story, and the smut scenes are f*cking amazing.

Also, I want to say thank you to Ying Yue (the translator), for taking time out of her busy schedule and translating so many great novels, that not only have an interesting plot, but also such good smut. Thank you.

As of now, there’s not a lot to know about the characters except that, FL did her best to help... more>> her family manage the kingdom, but they sold her like a cow and now she hates them (herself included) and wants to die. <<less

Smut is top tier, plot is chef's kiss, ML is not toxic at all! Only a little h**ny. FL is not weak too! Only a little depressed. But with ML's s3men, she overcomes all difficulties in life!

Why did they block all my favourite novels? PLEASE UNLOCK THEM, THEY ARE MY HEAVEN OF ESCAPE FROM THE REALITY. I was really interested in the plot. I love Ishkhan soooo much. He is so considerate. I want to know what will he do next? I want to know what will happen to Leah after being kidnapped.

Not only Predatory Marriage, but also Apollo's Heart, Beauty of the Thebes, I don't want to be loved, all of them are gone, just like that! It is not fair!!!!!

And she doesn't trying REALLY HARD to avoid ML after the deed is done (like some annoying novel MC). She just accept the ML kindness while being a bit shy but didn't avoid him. I cl**ked on this more out of curiosity than because I thought I would like it. But damn I love it. It' so well translated and written. I like that the main wants revenge but what I like even more is her admittance that her family's dismal of her causes her heartbreak and despair. She's not just angry. She's sad and hurt. She's lashing out at those who hurt her. Cutting off the nose to spite the face. Despite how good the smut is (which is not r*pe for once,... more>> thank god) you just feel sad for her. to those who gave negative reviews about our leads and almost made me skip this masterpiece.. Dang you guys, I can't believe I almost left this alone.

Honestly, I really loved everything about this story, idk what sort of character development the others want but our MC is already strong and she breaks free from whatever's stopping her with the help of others who encouraged her. The ML is very supportive and I love him sm. He's just my type of guy lol. wish I had someone like him. The plot... more>> is interesting enough and keeps me from only expecting smut, I want smut but also want to know what else happens with the rest of the story. We're nearing the climax I guess and I'm here waiting for it to be updated so I can cheer as the bada$$ moments happen XD

Translation is also amazing, it makes it easier for me to read and I want to thank them for their hardwork <3

The characters seem childish, the smut is just... gross with its descriptions. Uses terms like 'rosebuds' to describe nips among other things, really ruining roses for me I must say. The plot feels like it's only there to get the smut rolling and hardly serves any other purpose. If ignoring the storyline + characters and just taking the smut into account, it's still not done well. The adjectives used are weird for starters and it lacks flow, the way the two main characters got together felt unnatural. I just can't... more>> think of a single positive. If you like flowery language and drawn out coitus scenes, I suppose you may be able to get something out of this - though I can guarantee it ain't gonna be anything special. <<less

If you're still doubting if you should read this, do it! This one is a gem! I don't understand those who gave this a 1 star. Did we read the same thing? This is actually one of the best ones out here on NU. The pacing is good, translation is good, the ML and FL's chemistry is sizzling hot, and the plot is intense. This is top tier and deserves more stars.

Only 6 chapters yet but already like the female lead I like her determination for revenge against her family for selling her to a powerful old man for power and favour but she mistakenly chose a wrong person (ml) for one night stand now interesting point why ML want to kidnapped and ruined her life when she was on her way for the marriage and though they share only one night.

Ok, I'm kind of getting fed up with Leah. Yes, I understand that she's in a difficult political position, but she can obviously see that the Kurkans are not 'barbarians' (wow, gotta love racism/xenophobia/etc /s), but people who can actually help her. Rather than trying to 'fend off the Kurkans, ' it would be better to throw a coup (b/c if I was her, there would be no love lost between the other members of the royal family/Byun Gyongbaek and her). The KING OF KURKANS would gladly help her with... more>> that, and it would end in the best way - almost no civilian deaths if she just gets rid of the useless people in the way. Especially, because her end goal is to protect lives and most of the servants seem to like/understand her.

Edit: The website is now not secure, which causes Firefox to not even access it & Chrome to also give lots of warnings prior to accessing it. I hope the translator can fix this!

I feel like the author wrote the s*x scenes first and the plot + characters last.

First, the FL and ML. Their characters are both flatter than an airport landing strip*. FL is literally like any other opinionated shoujo/josei MC. The author had the opportunity to develop her character more when she was talking to the ml. I still don't see the character development other than what was given to me in the summary and first chapter. it's like this is what was going in the author's mind when... more>> developing her character: I don't want to be trophy wife and be married to old man---- (because) -->I don't want to waste my youth----- (because I want to) --->[information n/a] Her not wanting to be a trophy wife of a much older man isn't a personality trait...

I think the negative reviews are done by people who don't understand the novel. Ishakan made Leah go to the brothel because he had people bribed in the royal palace. If someone pays attention they can understand the plot of the novel. The smut is amazing.

I have never read a novel like this before!!! TAKE MY MONEY!!!

The Evil G*psy Race makes it hard to enjoy the story. The G-slur is used for the "Toma" race, which is basically a collection of racist Roma stereotypes. Ironically, there's a decent subplot about fictional racism against beastpeople.

I got sick of the weak MC, but later there's a plot-twist reason for it.

At first it seems like there are lots of plot holes, but several of them have been explained. I'm cautiously hopeful they'll all be resolved.

Despite the genre-typical dubious consent in the early smut, the romance is pretty sweet. ML is possessive but the yandere-adjacent tags seem to be for a different character. <<less

THE BEGINNING: The author showed the abduction scene and went right ahead to the late timeline which was the actual story, without any warning. There weren't even time notations like "present-day" or "6 months earlier". I couldn't focus for the longest time, wondering when they'll back to the abduction day and it was damn annoying. If the story could begin with FL's first night, this novel would be way more acceptable, or passing the Estia part in 20-30 chapters would work too.

THE TRANSLATION was fine. THE WRITING, however, was quite... more>> bad... at the beginning. It got good eventually but take like 100 chapters and here are the points that disappointed my expectations:

-Their first night was... spread to many chapters without end. Wondered if this was a story that only for smut.
The smut btw... a little above average. It was too much at times and FL didn't even rest after all that action. Find it quite ridiculous.

-BLAIN?: Blain's character seemed undecided in pre-100 chapters. There weren't any satisfying explanations of him and you wonder if his intentions are good or bad.

-The King of Estia: Again there weren't any satisfying explanations so it seems like a badly written character.

-The parts with Blain and the Queen contains similar to the same conversations. Skimmed through them after a while.

-Eye color changes: FL's eye color in early chapters described as "dark", 60 chapters later it's light violet.

-FL has pointless sickness: It's just being mentioned and it leads to nothing at all. Mostly in the mentality of: "It just that ah our poor princess has stomach ache and doesn't even show it outside. Poor poor princess. The end."

-I heard people complaining about the racism but this story could be considered "historical" so I found it normal.

CONCLUSION: Before 100 chapters this novel was a perfect 2 STAR. After the 100 chapters, the story gets really satisfying. ML is VERY nice and respectful to the FL. (Welp except when he is h**ny.) It's explained why FL was having those s*upidly obsessive thoughts. The Kurkans are fun. 3.3 STARS. I hope it gets better and better.

Edit: At Ch.200 now: It's getting very cheesy and cheap again. 2 STARS. <<less

This story peaks my interest

Its like a new start that didn't came from hatred or Love.

For now I really like the ML and the FL. In the beginnning of the storry they gives an aura that they are truly match not like other novels that start from enemy, hatred, arranged, or one sided-love. It's started of interest

I like how they met and the masterr thingy..... And smut hehe
