Maybe because it´s a korean novel, the writing style and plot is quite different.

These first two chapters are quite entertaining. I´m really looking forward to the rest.

The story begins with our MC getting divorced and later it jumps to a flashback showing what exactly lead to the emperor and MC separating. MC has some spirit and composed but hopefully there´s more to her. Seems like a fun ride about ML losing his wife and regretting it mixed with jealousy and revenge marriage. Yum.

Update at ch 32: Gosh I love this... more>> novel so much. I love MC´s personality, her gracefulness and intelligence. ML is an absolute sweet pie, and as much as we all hate them, the emperor and tr*shta really are a great target for crushing later on once MC takes her revenge. I´m waiting for that satisfaction. And to the translator thank you so much for updating so frequently! <<less

I HIGHLY recommend this novel. We've got a strong woman who's husband (the emperor) is a blind moron to seduction, and who finds herself meeting a prince from a neighboring kingdom. The emperess deals with a lot of sh*t because of her crappy husband and his craft concubine, but gets through it. The prince ends up becoming a person she can talk to, and the two form an unlikely friendship (though the prince obviously feels more than simply friendship). WARNING, this novel is gonna make you FEEL things. You're gonna... more>> wanna punch quite a few people, I promise you. But you're gonna love it anyway. So read this! Do it! <<less

This novel is so interesting. Probably one of the best I have ever read. Navier has to be one of the best FL. Her character design makes her easy to love since she is so calm, smart and cool. Hate to admit but Soviesh*t and tr*shta's character designs are also well made, they are Sooooo easy to hate. Heinley is a dream boat. (Chef's kiss)

BTW, can anyone recommend me a novel which is similar? Like I am on my periods, salty as hell and need some face slapping!! Please... more>> recommend something where the villian acts like a white lotus, revenge, MC leaves the ex ML and a whole lotta regret from ex MC. Please and thank you!!! <<less

I discovered the comic of this novel from LINE Webtoon. Turns out the story is so good! Every character has their own flaw and strength. Pretty realistic. You will be hooked definitely.

I need to give precaution because you will hate the Emperor to death. Never seen someone who can tolerate him. NOT AT ALL. He's so tr*sh. Be careful, if you have high blood tension, you might hurt your neck since chapter 4!!

In the first chapters it shows that the MC is calm logical person. Who doesn't make decisions based on her feelings like hatred and jealousy.

so the MC empress maybe doesn't know she likes the emperor? Anyway the emperor is a bastard and one of those tropes ML that would do s*upid things for love to prove their 'powerful' or maybe because they became s*upid falling in love ugh

[collapse]

She thinks of the emperor as her friend and quite dissapointed on how the emperor disclosed the topic regarding the s*ave.

I like how she looks pitiful and emperor seems like a bastard

. I'm excited on the future chapters on how the story will flow.

I'm waiting on what will be the emperor's reaction when he knows that she will be remarry! Will he be dissapointed? Jealous?

Or relieve?

Pretty meh, the ending is pretty bland, there is side stories but I don't think I would read it.

Somewhere along the way, I stop caring about who's telling which stories. So like, there is conflict happening, stuff about to get messy, then they got anxious so Navier flirt with Heinley to comfort each other, then let's put conflict #1 aside, because conflict #2 is happening right now and is decided as more important event, however let's have Heinley and Navier flirt with each others here too, like what? Why? Romance,... more>> I get it, but it's getting dull, they've been at it every half chapter, I just don't care anymore about you guys biting finger or ears or licking sausage whatever, just move the fricking plot dammít, can you stop inserting unnecessary stuff in the middle of important event, it feels like ads.

The villainess, Rashta, her character is what keep me reading actually, interesting stuff only happen whenever she does something (stupíd), she moved the plot. Plot-wise she's more useful and entertaining than MC. Naive girl who found savior, love, and hope for a better life, but doesn't understand that her environment is actually a gold-layered poisonous shít, That eventually corrupt her and led her to her demise, I don't know why she's portrayed as absolute evil but to me she's just your everyday greedy short-sighted fool, she deserved some shít for her deeds, but I believe her character can still be fixed, deserved redemption or something but yeah, lets put her to most sad and pitiful lonely end as what the absolute evil deserved, while we ignore some characters malicious acts because he's a hot guy who love his mum. That said, I'm not sure why the novel doesn't end after Rashta died though, since nothing really happen without her, but maybe yeah, enjoy this finger-licking scene.

The MC Navier wasn't actually calmer/braver/smarter than she appear to be, and she's on standby-mode a little too much, like she exist simply because we need her perspective to tell the tale. But, overall since she doesn't do much, so there's nothing to complain about, it's all OK I guess? And still don't get the purposes author have her the Ice magic business though, maybe she was planned to have action battle or something to make her seems livelier and more MC-ish but author change his mind? Licking finger is enough ability or whatever.

Heinley and Sovieshu, just usual textbook ML, one is a Psychopath yandere but sweet to MC, what else? And the other is some idiot character that without his s*upidity, this whole novel wouldn't exist. Like yeah, boring, nothing noteworthy. <<less

First of all, props to translator who has done such a beautiful job, the formatting and the translation is such a joy to read and the best one I've seen. The artwork are also beautiful and adds to my imagination.

I enjoyed the fleshed out fantasy historical setting with undertones of magic, court intrigues, and different cultures of the empires.

The writing style is mature, subtle and, immersive. MC is likeable, villains (s*upid shoe and Rashta) are not, and I never feel like the author tried to make that decision for me.... more>> Each has their own driving reason behind the things they do, although it is not directly revealed from the beginning. Although some reviews mentioned that the pace is slow, it is just right for me as it helps build the eventual catharsis promised at the beginning of the novel.

This is one of my favorite stories in this site, and I can't wait to see it completed! <<less

Emporer: Stereotypical Otome Game Cheating Bastard falling for the Game Protagonist

Concubine: Stereotypical bit*h Game Protagonist who kicks up a fuss

Empress: Chick who didn't see the storm coming and was caught off guard because everyone else told her it would be fine.

... more>> Prince: Waiting-on-the-sidelines-to-steal-yo-girl-since-you-don't-appreciate-her.

You know that the country is going to get f*cked in the ass if the Empress doesn't step in to mitigate the damage after she leaves. You know the Emporer and his Concubine are effed because they are about to lose the largest power their empire has, namely the Empress. You know what's going to go down, but the way the author writes and executes things just force so much emotional investment into you that you can't look away from the trainwreck that is gonna be happening in the very near future.

Great read, Author makes great use of showing instead of telling to get things done. <<less

I... don't know if I can be as unbiased from this review as I always try to be, because this review touched straight into my own insecurities and relationship problems... It feels like the author has lived trough all this things and managed to develop such an amazingly crafted story.

If... you've ever ended in a relationship where the person you acknowledged, or even admired and you devoted yourself to try and share your life with that person... only to be taken for granted afterwards, this novel is for you.

The intricacies... more>> of marriage and partnership and love, not falling in love, not "being" in love, but actual love, with all it's faults and all it's responsibilities are gracefully intertwined in this novel.

The "friend" that becomes a source of temptation but you ultimately reject because of your commitment to your relationship, the "small" issue you've being carrying from the start of your relationship that becomes insurmountable as time goes by, the lack of care for your feelings when your partner decides things without consulting you, the expectance of your partner for you to continue with your duties while neglecting their own...

It's all appropriately set in a wonderfully crafted world of nobility and political intrigue.

But at its heart, it's much more simple than that, the disillusion of finding out that you are not needed in the life of your partner, even if you've tried with all your might to accommodate them in yours.

It's a well grounded story of losing your place in your own life... and finding it again by continuing to live.

Everything, yes, even what most people considered to be filler (looking at the foreigner dude falling for her) is so heart wrenchingly realistic... you know how I know this novel is great? change the setting, the characters, make him a CEO or put everything in a modern setting, hell, make them just your regular household in a medium income house, and the story will still work, and will still be as beautiful.

This is a love story for the neglected spouse, the person that kept on going even when there was no love between them because of a sense of duty, only to realize that they were just wasting their time... <<less

PSA : you can now play the Otome Game "Remarried Empress" on the Maybe app (iOs & Android, in English). See more gorgeous illustrations & support the author!

About the novel : this is not is not a revenge story, except if you believe that the best revenge is to live well. Discover with Navier that a love without respect (the Emperor would like Navier to be more like his lover, to change, he doesn't want an independent heroine, he wants to be THE hero), has no grand value.

I've read a bad review (didn't specify until what chapter she read) about how they think the readers would only like the MC because she's the MC and Rashta is hated because she smirks occasionally or smth but as someone who has read until 173, I think its unfair to judge a character based on the beginning. I haven't gotten that far in this story yet, but I honestly don't have any complaints about it so far. A lot of people say that it's slow when it really isn't. If you really think about it, Navier is a perfect empress so she will put the kingdom's matters and her duty over her own personal matters. She's not someone who, as soon as her husband finds another wife, she'll do whatever she can so that he can leave the lady. I don't find the pacing to be... more>> any problem at all because it's unrealistic for a queen to fall in love with someone they recently met and to leave her home kingdom, in the span of 50 chapters. Remember, the translations are split too. 100 chapters translated is actually around 50. And although that is not when the divorce happens, my point is that the pacing is not dragging out as long as everyone thinks it is. Personally, I enjoy reading that Navier is slowly getting more frustrated as an Empress and that Heinley is making his move. I'm excited to find out what his plans are.

In addition, her mother and previous empresses were known to ignore issues concerning the concubines in the palace. Navier is not weak for letting the concubine do what she wants. She just wants to avoid problems as much as posssible. As a perfect empress, it makes sense that Navier is just doing what she was taught to do. If I were Navier, I wouldn't want to get involved either. Working and trying to keep the kingdom in place sounds more important. I find that this personality of hers is what makes Navier so likeable for me because I'm not a big fan of girls that are easily swayed by emotions.

It's nice knowing that Navier will eventually marry someone else that deserves her more, but think of it like this. If you didn't know she was going to divorce, would you be anticipating that moment as much as you are now? I like to read this story thinking, "okay the divorce is going to come, but how will it happen? What makes Navier so frustrated to the point that she is willing to leave the kingdom she was raised to rule over since birth?"

It seems that there are a lot more issues that people have with this story but pacing and the MC being lame were the top two, so that's all I addressed. I really enjoy reading this so far so if these issues are stopping you from reading, give it a try because it really is not the case. Also thank you to the translators for uploading almost everyday. This really helps during quarantine. Much love to y'all. <<less

Honestly, I had high expectations because of the first chapter and the title itself. I guess if you're a fan of drama and jealousy then this might be your cup of tea, but for someone who only likes a bit of drama and tons of fluffy romance then I won't recommend this to you one bit as of yet.

The title itself is a bit misleading for me because a lot of chapter came out and she's still not remarried. The translators are of course amazing and the plot is interesting... more>> albeit a bit annoying before the divorce. Rated two stars or three because it really gets too draggy for me.

Will camp because it will get better after the divorce, which is currently not yet translated.

Okay. The translation is great. The characters are well built up. The story is amazing. But I was not in the good mood throughout of it. I based my expectations from chapter one and I thought wow this seems interesting. And yes, it is but not the way I expected it to be. I just didn't have enough tolerance to continue... more>> on experiencing her painful marriage in real time. I thought it was gonna be short first marriage but it lasted so much more than I can take. i really like the MC so far, she actually has realistic emotions, and most importantly she's SMART.

the story is kinda like a cliché romance story but from the perspective of the side hoe who gets thrown away. the emperor is similar to the cliche mls who are all usually cold to everyone but then finds their one true love!! the s*ave¿ girl is like a classic female lead who hides behind the ml, cries over everything, is soo beautiful, and is naive of her actions. to them, our MC is... more>> protrayed as the antagonist, when in reality, shes the only person thinking logically. This is perhaps one of the best stories I have ever read in my life. The plot is amazing, the world building is fabulous, the relationship between the ML and FL is so organic and beautiful, and the characters are so intriguing, I love how the author can make me feel so many emotions.

The female lead is great. She is stoic and isn't victim to outburts of emotions or jealousy. She keeps herself in line and doesn't stray from her morals. There's no petty revenge or jealousy either. She's just... more>> a great strong character.

The male lead is amazing. He's my type to a T. He's puppyish towards the person he likes, doing everything in his power to please her, yet strong and uncaring towards others.

I even like how the author wrote both Rashta and the Emperor. While I hate both of them to my core, the author also makes me feel sympathetic towards them too, an amazing feat to make me feel sympathy towards characters I hate, and I really respect the author for that and that the author didn't make them just one dimensional villains.

Rashta

Spoiler

While I don't like Rashta at all, and I know many people get mad at anyone showing her even a little sympathy, I do feel sorry for her. She has had a rough life being tormented as a s*ave, she even admitted herself that she was mentally broken after the ordeal. She then gets to the palace and is desperate to keep the Emperor's affections as she knows that if he loses love for her she will be kicked out and live a poor life. Then, while she's mentally weak, two men separately whisper in her ears about how she'll be kicked out and they tell her to do evil dears to save herself. One of them blackmails her while the other mentally tricks her. I feel that she is a poor desperate girl who had snakes in her ears and eventually became greedier and greedier.

Now am I saying that none of this is her fault just for the fact that she was weak, desperate, and tricked? Absolutely not. Even before being blackmailed or told that her position was in jeopardy she was selfish and scheming, trying to undermine the Empress. I hold no love for her, but I also pitty her.

[collapse]

The Emperor (I've forgotten his name, and honestly? That's the most respect he'll get from me)

Spoiler

I blame him the most. While Rashta was a s*upid and greedy girl, he was raised as an aristocrat and knew better. He treated the Empress like dirt and I believe he directly caused this mess more than anyone else. He was the one who treated the Empress poorly in front of Rashta and gave Rashta the impression that she didn't have to respect the Empress and that she was above the Empress.I believe it was his actions too that hurt the Empress more so than Rashta's.

This is my first time giving such a low rating, it is just not my cup of tea

Having read so many palace novels, this one tested my patience. It is not as smart as others and has too many flaws.

Spoiler

1. An Emperor wouldn't bring a random dirty girl home without prior thorough checks on her background

2. A mere s*ave with no backing and education wouldn't be able to cover her origin to the nation (Ok, forget the useless emperor)

3. An Empress with a powerful empress-producing-family wouldn't yield to the Emperor

4. There shouldn't be any reason an ex-Queen, unless if she's a queen dowager, to not give back her authority to the crowned empress

5. Gosh I can go on and on..

[collapse]

Bottom line is, monarchs are raised to rule their people and use power, they wouldn't be as naive as how the Emperor and Empress are portrayed in this novel. <<less

I LOVE IT! This novel is absolutely a classic, the romance ain't boring or shit, it's very flowing and satisfying. It's very much like a Korean drama, your heart gets squeezed over the littlest bits. It's so satisfying to see tr*shta messing up and watching Soveish*t regretting his decisions. And seeing Navier and Heinley get along.

I guarantee you won't regret reading this, however, I'm quite upset that the translation for this novel ain't finished.

Plot: 2/5

Characters: 3/5

I read this a long time ago, dropped it at around chapter 50ish because everything is juust sooo infuriating. I thought I could hold on and wait but the light at the end of the tunnel still can't be seen so I just decided to jump off the train.

Honestly, I'm not even mad at Sovieshu anymore. I am more annoyed at the author 😂 Sovieshu I believe (correct me if I am wrong) was not an incapable ruler. As the reviewer above has said, Heinley and Navier even... more>> said he wasn't a bad emperor. So how can he make such a s*upid decision?

Spoiler

He at first was "in love" with the little hoe tr*shta, and proceeded to treat Navier like sh*t. Then after a few months he becomes tired of her and then out of the blue he says he has been planning all along to use the girl because Navier is infertile?? And then he comes up with that sh*t plan of divorcing Navier, making Rashta empress, divorce again, and then reinstating Navier as empress again??? What the hell?????

If he wanted a child so bad he could've chosen a woman among the nobles. Less hassle right? And then if he liked Rashta so much because he wanted his ego stroked then he could've kept her as a concubine or something.

[collapse]

I feel like Sovieshu is really a proper emperor, but then for the sake of the plot the author dumbed him down so the plot could move. I mean it worked, a lot of us got hooked and just ate up the novel so we could see Sovieshu and Rashta's downfall, but giving this some thought made me realize how s*upid (sorry 😶) this is.

As the story progressed, Navier seems like the only character with a brain and everyone's braincells just stopped working. I can understand the reason behind Rashta's decisions, but Sovieshu... he's a victim of the plot in my opinion.

Another reason why I dropped this is because of how looong the divorce happened. Couldn't stomach anymore of the s*upid couple's idiocy so I bid this novel goodbye.

All in all, i'd say read this for the face-slapping (although that might take a while) but the anatagonists' actions can be mind-boggling so I guess have patience? If you don't have any of that then drop it and just read spoilers lol <<less
