It's actually a pretty good story. MC is a ... more>>
Spoiler

NPC who gained sentience for some reason in this infinite horror game sorta thingy

[collapse]

ML absolutely loves MC. From first sight, he took one look and never looked anywhere else. And he suffers coz of that
Spoiler

as punishment for failing to kill the bug, for every game that MC survives, ML has to bear the pain of death ?

[collapse]

The other characters have their own quirks and are kind of well fleshed out. It's pretty interesting how they try to find a way out of this infinite game.

But it's not horror in the traditional sense. MC himself is calm and strong, plus ML is super duper duper OP, the team-mates have also faced a lot of shit. So the ghosts/ devils don't really bring about a taste of fear. It's more like adventure game.

This series gives me mixed feelings. I came to read about a character with blindness, but it was all a ploy. I stayed for the horror stories, but none of those are suspenseful or terrifying.

The blindness only lasts for the first arc. Like scriptor, another reviewer, said, the MC's response to suddenly being able to see when having been blind for his entire life doesn't make a lick of sense. Instead, it's used as an excuse to give him OP senses and make him even more of a Gary Stu... more>> than he already was. Although the MC has never ever seen anything in his life before, he can immediately tell colors apart, read, interpret forms to identify things, and have fully-functional perspective perception. There are people who have had devices placed to give them sight or return sight to them, and there are stories about how horrifying people looked to them once they could see for the first time. There are also stories about how they have a terrible time judging depth perception. This information is not difficult to find.

The story does not stick with its own setting and instead immediately treats the MC as someone who only recently and temporarily lost his eyesight. Oh, and, by the way, he can see better than normal people--he can see farther away than them and see better in the dark than them.

The MC is a Gary Stu--he's kind, intelligent, lucky, and extremely attractive looking. The first time he works with his team, they all come to depend on him, even though he's the least experienced member of their entire group. Even though the ML has never been to school before, he knows everything about going to college and high school and blends in well. It just doesn't make sense. The ML is OP and calm. The bonus points for the MC and ML is that they have more distinctive personalities than most Chinese BL series out there.

Although there are a number of errors in the translation and writing, it's readable. There are also a lot of logical inconsistencies that the author apparently never did any research into or didn't bother with. The arcs are nice but not suspenseful or horrifying. They're just more like gentle ghost stories most of the time.

In short, this series is somewhat entertaining but not impactful. It's nice for spending time but doesn't leave a lasting impression. <<less

The story is interesting to say the least. The ML is very weird and a little arrogant. I hope the MC grows more.

That was just an intro. The real purpose if this review was made as a reply to scriptor's review and him mentioning blindness. There are different types of blindness. There are blind people (whether blind from birth or not) that can see light. That is actually a very common kind of blindness. They can see light and where it's coming from. Depending on how bad there blindness is... more>> they can see the shape or just the direction. So, the blindness by the author is actually pretty accurate. Though yes, it does seem like some of the terms the author uses for the MC is more suited for someone who could see before going blind. <<less

The story is good and I like the idea of author, MCs identity. However, there are some lines and scenes that are overly dramatic and/or out of place.

The instance itself is quite good but the ML's development and personality is out of place. Also, I'm very disappointed with ML. For the MC, I'm wondering why they didn't save the npc who had gained consciousness that the world was only a game (polive investigator and doctor).

you can't trust anyone not even yourself, you can only trust me. It is honestly a bullshit. I hate the MLs arrogant line. He should let the MC grow. He let MC grew in some ways. Also, another line that pisses me off "your hand is destined to be stained with blood... let me be the first soul under your death. His idea of protecting is misaligned. It seems that the author just wanted to put a dramatic lines that are out of place and Support it.

There is also an arc which is very similar to "the purge" movie <<less

An okay read, :3

Only the way they depict blindness is inaccurate lol... Just a warning in case someone who knows what blindness is like from an acquaintance, etc. reads this and thinks 'wtf.' MC acts more like someone who was originally able to see and later became blind than from the description of him as someone born blind. He's able to discern what light is, for one, and what candles are.

I suggest handwaving away these inaccuracies when you read if you wanna enjoy~

this one is fairly good. The MC is clever and learns quickly and the ML is typically op, but he's quiet about it. Several of the games were a little creepy but not that scary and I actually prefer the solo ones where it's just the MC and ml, rather than the group games which take longer. I kind of wish it had been scarier and that some things had been gone into in more detail but it's still good as is. I'm still a little confused about the end... more>> (some things don't make sense) so I will definitely come back and read the translation. <<less

So far, Absolutely Soooooo Very Good!!!

Best MC, Best ML, Great Supporting Characters as Teammates, Intriguing Deep Plot, All Great Horror Mystery or Adventure in every Games/Arcs, Sweet Loving Romance... It's basically Perfection if not for the fact the Translation is Not Complete yet so I can't judge if this novel going to be Perfect or not.

The different in this Novel compared to other Horror Survival Game is:

  1. MC WAS an NPC. He wasn't someone who die and reincarnate to be NPC or chosen to be a Player. He really was AN NPC who finally know the truth of the World he had born and live.
  2. No Ability, No Super Strength, No Special Item. The Players literally have to rely on their own Strength and Experience. ML's strength based on his Very Long Experience, while MC's abilities came from being honed since young when he was Blind (aka his other senses was more sensitive) though it get stronger without explanation; implied being Player made his other senses stronger than before.
It's Super Recommended!!! Great Plots, Great Characters, and Best CP ever, don't hesitate!!!

Ahh finally I completed reading the novel and lemme tell you, you will regret if you don't read this novel... it's f*cking awesome...

Basically the MC is a NPC but later he becomes a player and ML is a player but he became a "cleaner" for the game system, he becomes so cause he already have completed all games and so the system decided to make him a "cleaner" to wipe out all the loop holes or moles?

And yeah one of his duty was to wipe out "MC" that is why... more>> is was sent to the "senseless city" which was also the first stage of the game? From which MC becomes a player, basically MC was a NPC but he was blind since birth and so he was considered as a mole, the system decied to send Qi xiuming (ML) to wipe out/kill Lu Chu (MC) but unknowingly the ML falls in love with MC cause of his kindness and stuffs, ahh and MC's dog basically a trained dog gifted by his parents named the dog Carrot (heheh cute) sorry I couldn't remember it's breed though it's mentioned further in the chapters.

So yeah in first game the ML helps MC to reach the tower and complete the game.

CONCLUSION: must read, you won't regret

[Everytime ML helps MC, the ML is punished severely by the system like ti bear the pain of tearing the skin apart and stuffs but the ML is used to this pain like being numb, but he can do anything for his love~🥺]

And yes it has a Happy ending, wow I love it and yeah both MC and ML and their teammates successfully exits the game and enters the real world tho MC doesn't have any I'd in the real world cause he was a NPC in the game world but that doesn't effects anything and yeah lastly the ML remembers his name after he enters the "real" world

All in all my best ever game survival story with the best happy ending and SATISFIED one~ <<less

Very engaging. It's a totally new experience to see a blind person's perspective in a Horror Survival Game.

Will edit as I read further.

Spoiler

not really a spoiler but yeah, he doesn't stay blind throughout the story. Read and you'll see. Still, don't let it dampen your enthusiasm 'cuz it's damn good. Worth your time.

Don't hesitate! Go read it ! Jiayou !

To tell you I didn't want to continue read this for now. It's not because it's bad but because I just don't want to know the MC suffering. Just can't take it. I'll only feel distress, that's all. The translation is good. For does really love horror novel, this really suits you. (:

I honestly that this will have a lot of horror themes but there weren’t much, but they made sense because of the motivations behind the ones I’ve read so far. I like seeing more than a couple of characters that aren’t against the MC or the main couple themselves and I was pleasantly surprised that the MC wasn’t going to be coddled throughout and got the chance to “grow”.

It's such a good novel. It was interesting in reading a novel that came from an NPC's viewpoint. MC and ML have such a good relationship, good chemistry. ML is OP but only helps in times of crisis or whenever MC gets injured. MC is quite smart and learnt in analysing the setting. I'm surprised at how easily they can escape the virtual world like the rules didn't stop them. The author didn't describe how the rules choose these ppl in playing the games. Overall, it's a good novel but... more>> kind of expect a more exciting plot. <<less

It never fails to amaze me. I want to read every kind of novel there is but it is truly boundaries such as language. I don't have time to learn other languages due to my occupied time for reading novels and mangas. This is why I'm always waiting for it to be translated. Either way this novel is very interesting.

"From life to death, don’t trust anyone.

I will find you."

Forever true to his words, I love how they started, how he fell in love and how they end up together even... more>> in desperate times. <<less
