She had changed so much it was like she was a totally different person…

When he goes to work: “Dear, don’t move, I’ll put on your shoes for you.”

When he is having a meal: “Dear, I have made all of your favourite dishes. You have worked hard, so eat up.”

When he finished work: “Dear, you have worked all day. I’ll massage your shoulders and feet.”

Ji Yan: “…”

—————

Tang Tang got pushed into the pond by her step sister who frequently bullied her.

She thought she would meet her dead mother but, who knew, when she opened her eyes again, she was in a strange place.

But what made her happy was that she had a super handsome husband and a very cute son.

The most important thing was that her husband was good.

He was a hero who protects the country, and earns money to support her and their son.

Also, he only has her as his wife, he didn’t have any concubines whatsoever.

Tang Tang decided she should be submissive to her husband, to be a good wife and a loving mother.

Her nanny no longer needed to worry about her not being able to get married anymore!

What a beautiful story. I love how the author tried to elevate a housewife's status without looking down on career woman in this story because both of them were good and had their own merit. Our MC, Tang Tang, belonged to the housewife category.

To be honest, MC wasn't my favorite character because she's too timid, naive, and insecure. But it also understandable and realistic because she was once an unfavored daughter who never left a backyard. She didn't know any scheme and always under her nanny's protection all her life.... more>> And when she was reborn, MC wasn't a beauty, instead she's a bit ugly because she was too skinny and had a unhealthy life that led her to have a bad skin and body. On the other hand, all women around ML were a great beauty who had their own career, so sometimes MC felt inferior because of it.

And that's where ML played his role. I love how he loved MC the way she were and could give her a sense of security. Even when he hadn't fall in love with her yet, he still respected her as his wife and his son's mother. He also wasn't a chauvinist man who thought man were above woman and treated MC as equal. He's definitely one of my favorite ML so far. <<less

Consistent good quality translation ✔️

Its a pity the rest of the are locked. (Ch 72 to extras)

Anyways, it was a good read.

When reading this novel dont assume things instantly. Like why the caretaker was annoying, or why the husband was kinda a**hole?

Our MC transmigrated from ancient times. First few chapters will show how she adapts to modern world, and fluffy scenes with the child.

Last few chapters get complicated (drama). Around chapter 50s or 60s, by then the original girl past will be said.

Enjoyable read. Transmigration if a sweet lonely ancient girl into a pre- made family. Cute little ‘meat billet’ son, sweet virtuous wife/ mother slowly winning over her family. Good to see a character who’s not described as unrealistic beautiful. Brushes on issues of child abuse. Unfortunately later chapters were locked but enjoyed the storyline up to there. Hope they site will unlock the chapters in the future. Doesn’t the site already earn money from advertis**ents?

I tried really hard but I dont think I will continue reading this for now. I'll try reading it again next time.

There's so much stuff happening that challenges your common sense lol.

I feel like the author skipped a lot of details so if you're a "detail oriented person" then reading from chapter 1 will make you feel that there's something off with it.

Spoiler

the fact that when they learned she has Amnesia they didnt even bother to immediately have her rechecked in the hospital, im currently in chapter 17 and maybe they will in the next chapters but I think they should've sent her there once they learned about amnesia

[collapse]

Spoiler

she's supposed to be a girl from the ancient era.. it's kinda weird that she's "read" transmigration stories in that era and also, the facf that she can cook well (especially Ribs and all that modern food) is beyond me, even me as a modern person will have a hard time differentiating spices and seasonings. She also adjusted sooo quickly like.. maybe modern to ancient is reasonable but ancient to modern will be quite hard.

[collapse]

Spoiler

the kid is.. so mature... he's 3 years old and he can say a lot of mature stuff like..a child that is 6yrs old

[collapse]

And other review is on @Addisons post before me. Basically that sums it up.

a lot has great reviews and I think the novel is okay but it's not my cup of tea.

the child is cute tho~ that's why I managed to read till chapter 17. <<less

I LOVE THIS STORY, I get why people are saying that the female lead is too old fashion thinking, but thats the thing shes from the past thats how she was raised to be you cant really blame her for thinking that she was made to think that serving your husband is a womans duty, although I love the family dynamic in this story the only minor setback is that the author has a specific standard of what a woman should be soo

I like this novel very much.

The plot points and plot progression is entertaining enough, it's fluffy and good, the personalities of the characters (except the ML) are all fine, the ML is your "stoic, wet-toilet-paper personality" so that the reader can put whatever they want in there to make him to their taste (common device on Chinese web novels), what caught my attention is that the Author pushes forward with a MC that would be considered outrageously unrealistic in this modern times, but the reasonings, portrayals and developments are well... more>> enough for all that to work (although sometimes the author likes to push forth a common sense that is a bit too on the nose, it's understandable from the novels perspective).

The novel haves child elements on it, that turn from drama to comedy relief, it's a good balance between the plot progression and character growth, even if the child is impossibly unrealistic, we are in a novel with a "reincarnator" so it's fine, a bit eye rolling sometimes but fiiiine, at least it's mostly cute stuff.

The conflict keeps changing to keep you on your toes, it's all very well portrayed and grows organically and everything is very well set up with the appropriate pay off, but nothing comes off as too intense, there are lengthy fluffy slice-of-life-esque portrayals that wind down the drama so that nothing is ever too overbearing and mostly maintains a lighthearted tone, the drama and conflict is there but the author always vents things down before they become harsh or painful for the reader.

The pacing is quite fast, I mean, the chapters are on the long side and we're at chapter 70 but as I've said before the author has knotted a couple of big conflicts already, I'm not sure how lengthy this novel actually is but the author could have ended it already a couple of times because the premise was resolved in the third arch and we're delving into other areas, but I'm happy that the author keeps on the worldbuilding moving forward, since nothing stagnates or drags on for too long, it manages to close certain things neatly and move on to something else that is also interesting.

So, yeah, read it, it's a nice story, and the translation is good. <<less

This novel is tagged in childcare and it does not disappoint! The little fat toddler is just too cute!!

The romance is very good and the fluffy family love will soon give me diabetes.

The ML and the FL are very likable. The FL is very relatable in that she is insecure about her appearance and herself, she develops later in the story and gradually gets more self-esteem. The ML previously hated the FL but grows to see and fall for who she is inside.

It was good how the MC adapts to new environment. To how she wants to get close to the son. The MC and ML relationship was not rushed. You can see as the story goes how they begin to love each other. I cried on some parts. It was also good that MC found a hobby there. MC also told ML the past. The Orig soul of the body also had a closure. A good read, I love their family^^

I read the translation to c49 and MTL'd the rest. This is a rare, well-written novel where you can fall in love with the characters and their family life without suffering through endless conflict and misunderstandings.

Reviewer N01 wrote that the author wasn't fair to the original Tang Tang, whose life basically s**ked. Well, yeah, if her life had been happy, she would've fought to live well and been kinder to her husband and child. Then, there would've been no story.

The original Tang Tang's unhappy life provides the angst and conflict... more>> that keep the reader interested, but the author doesn't drag it out. Slowly resolving the issues, the new Tang Tang along with Ji Yan help get justice for her.

The real gem of this story is Tang Tang and how she adjusts to a new epoch. She is so funny and cute. Plus, she makes the people who hated "her" before fall in love with her warmth and kindness, starting with her child and husband. The slow burn romance with her husband is extra sweet and very satisfying. <<less

It's okay. There were cute moments, but not really heartwarming. It's actually rather awkward. Almost all scenes were awkward as heck. Other stories are better. FL is weak-willed. She lets people walk all over her and taking advantage of her. There was this couple who had her cook for their own banquet, literally a few days after they moved in the neighborhood, and the wife didn't help much, and acted like she was the guest. Look, I get that she's from a different timeline, but she already experienced sh*t from... more>> her previous life, and she didn't learn anything from it. She has no backbone. There were more times I was irritated rather than feel sympathetic for her. There also could've been more face slapping against her orig "family", but she's too kind. Thank goodness she didn't donate her kidney to her mother who abandoned her, or else this deseves a 1 star. She's the textbook definition of a goodytwo shoes. The only people I loved here were the kid and Ji Yue. ML and grandma was okay too. Others were just, ugh. <<less

It was a bit hard getting past the first several chapters. The novel starts off as a big mess with barely any directions. As you continue reading, it feels like watching a mirror getting cleaner and shinier. Do not mistake this novel as a weak FL and an overpowering ML. Even if the FL is a bit soft (very kind and gentle), the ML is ACTUALLY considerate. It just takes time. Take consideration of where the FL grew up and how different society is 50+ years later.

The children are also... more>> adorable. Yes, the little bun is a bit OP (smart as heck), but he does not ever become some sort of "adult in a child's body". He may be mature, but not to the point where he is creating his own companies and supporting his family at the age of 5. He is still extremely childish, like a child should be.

Overall, I recommend this novel to anyone who wants to read something down-to-earth and sweet. <<less

It's cute, but don't think too much. It is weird that she adapted so quickly (figured out all the bathroom appliances herself when she came from an age without electricity????) but that only shows up in the beginning anyway.

I'm also not a fan of the fact the author is pitching a "gentle virtuous wife" SO hard, but they do show other couples with different dynamics and the thinking makes sense in the story. Plus it's more self-imposed than anything. Ji Yan offers to help cook but she won't let him... more>> in the kitchen.

The focus on appearances also makes me somewhat uncomfortable, but I think rather than ugly / beautiful it's more that she looks starved and unhealthy. This makes sense given the behaviors of the OG MC, but it is brought up quite a lot.

However, overall the story is quite light and fun to read. I like that there's minimal drama with other parties (so far at least). Most importantly, +1 star because I appreciate that Bao Bao took a while before falling in love with this new mother. It feels realistic considering the traumas that she put him through before, and it's a nice change to watch the process. <<less

The lady's roaming again

Im going to have a full review on this one because other reviews are mixed up (have different opinions and some are opposing)

Why 5 stars?

... more>> Because the important characters here were not perfect. While reading the dialogues you'll also think about why they did that, why they were able to do that etc.

While other says that the MC adapted too quickly, I completely disgaree. The MC stayed in the places where she feels comfortable, she didn't wear revealing clothes, she did what she was capable of and only what she knows. Our MC is a bit timid showing her nature as someone in the historical era. She's not intelligent yet she knows where she will be comfortable. Even at the end of the story you'll see how the MC just started showing interest on cute dresses and make ups. The fact that I really like is that she doesn't immediately beautified. Half of the story shows how she's too think and ghastly.

Now regarding the storyline, this is new to me since the plot almosy revolve around the compound in the military (not literally inside the military) there's no magically big house, no big brands were mention, no b*tchslapping while shopping for clothes that has 6 zeros. Its good!

For our ml, I really like his development because he's not the perfect God like looking with God like temperant. He's a soldier with a high position but not that high, just above average in comparison to his age and his peers.

The romanc really is cute.

Regarding the drama part, it will make you cry but dont worry this is a HE.

5 STARS

HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I'm not sure what was more entertaining about this story. The actual story or the comments from readers about how the MC didn't get to recover in the hospital after the car accident (which was just her getting hit by a car and breaking her leg so not a long time hospital stay required here).

I also need to mention the most problematic thing about this story right off the top. That's everyone's obsession with appearance. The MC is stick thin and heavily bruised starting out so she's obsessed with getting... more>> prettier (it makes sense given her upbringing) but it's brought up every few chapters.

The MC, Tang Tang, is a transmigrator but unlike the usual trips into the past, she's actually transmigrated into the future. She's a shu-born daughter who lived a quiet life until she was 18, always wished she could have a family but understood that she was pretty much forgotten by her family, and was then mu*dered by her step-sister (fairly certain this is meant to be half-sister). We get to watch her quickly learn how to do things in a modern world as she quickly decides that the ML and the Little Bun must be heaven's way of making up her pitiful life and death. She's also very kind-hearted and gentle. Especially towards her instant family.

Spoiler

Only complaint about the transmigrator is that she apparently gained zero skills for surviving in the back house of an ancient family. Which means she's incredibly naive about a lot of things. That being said, her adapting was quite cute but really fast-paced.

The original's backstory was also pretty sad but we don't find out any of it until near the end. It's a stereotypical story of a switched child and then the biological one is disliked.

[collapse]

The ML, Ji Yan, is a military man who is rather serious but has been putting up with the original host for around four years solely because of the child they have together. He immediately knows that something is different about the MC. He's hesitant at first as he's afraid this is just a trick of the original but quickly realizes that she is indeed with a different personality. When she begins spoiling him, he quickly falls in love with this new Tang Tang.

Spoiler

His backstory is tragic as well. Apparently, his mother married his father because his grandfather and her father were buddies. She was practically raised by the ML's grandfather and he felt that his son would be the best to take care of her. Unfortunately, he loved someone else and basically two timed both women which led to the ML's mother committing su*cide. The lover was totally okay with the full circumstances given she gave birth to the ML's half-brother a year after him.

The ML's dad is also pretty tr*shy as he didn't care about the ML, leaving the grandfather to raise him while he made a happy life with his first love and other son. In fact, when the ML gets hospitalized, the father and step-mother show up for a little bit at the hospital but the father says they should leave because it wasn't good for the step-mother's complexion.

[collapse]

The Little Bun, Ji Xiao Zhuo, starts out like a tsundere little boy but quickly adapts to the new version of his mother. Especially when she bribes him with good food and attention. He does have the cuteness of a three-year-old (so long as you ignore how wordy he is) and is a perfect wingman for his father and a genuine momma's boy. He's also a genius but that makes sense given his father's level of intelligence.

The story is pretty much just the happy life of the trio. The ML accepts the new Tang Tang from nearly the beginning and pretty much everyone who meets the MC quickly changes their opinion of her (as they were biased because of the original's actions). While they do have to deal with a few events, there is pretty much nothing that interrupts their life for long.

Spoiler

Major points are the Little Bun's deskmate getting abused by her stepmother, the interloper who believes she's better suited for the ML, the ML getting shot while on a mission and the Tang family trying to force the MC to give up her kidney.

Each is handled relatively quickly except for the woman who tries to get with the ML. She's like a c*ckroach and keeps coming back to interfere in their lives. This woman is malicious (and possibly insane) and takes every opportunity to try and come between the pair. Unfortunately, the MC didn't explain what the woman was doing and was just giving the ML the cold shoulder each time the woman came into their lives. The ML was dense about her interest at first but he does actually have a brain and contacts someone he knows will get the MC to talk.

[collapse]

The story also includes some extras about the Little Bun and his bestie going through school. She manages to make a new friend but pretty much just relies on him for their school time. There is of course the typical other girl who tries to chase the teenaged Little Bun but that fails. It's kind of cute but it had a weird end.

Spoiler

Literally when they talk about the fact that they're going off to college and he has to leave earlier than her so she tells him they should go to a hotel. It ends with her thinking she was an adult now at 18. Yay, implied teen s*x.

[collapse]

Otherwise, I enjoyed this quite a bit. Having a transmigrator from the past and actually having it affect the story was a nice change of pace from other transmigration stories. <<less

BEWARE of SPOILER

FL was 18 years old, from a time when China still had an Emperor, a shu (born by a concubine) daughter, and wasn't well accepted by the family. However, she had a Nanny who taught her every knowledge she knew.

One day, she woke up in a different body and era altogether. She found out the body was 25 years old, married with a son, and was not well accepted by others as the previous owner was sort of an alcoholic.

The first 10 chapters were FL trying to win... more>> her 'son'. And she managed to do it with her patience and talent in cooking. We were then introduced to her 'husband' who was a military man and handsome to boot.

People were a bit skeptical because we were told she was a beast compared to his beauty. So, how could he marry her right? That's when our FL face-slapped those people with her virtue. She may be low in the beauty ranking but, she was good at cooking, making clothes, and tea ceremonies, and best of all, she was kind and naive. I mean, can you be full with just looking at beauties?

So now, people were envious of our ML. He hit the jackpot by marrying her. Who gives a damn about the look when you have a wife that was good at almost everything and was even willing to massage your feet every night.

After reading the story, it felt like the writer had outlined a great plot. Unfortunately, the writer threw in a subplot that gave me a whip splash. I don't want to care about the FL original family or our ML family. I only want FL and ML and their son. Their interactions alone were sweet and funny.

Yes, some parts were a bit unbelievable but, this is a a fiction. If the FL can transmigrate from another era, I won't be surprised if she could even fly.

For the extras, the writer wrote about their son and adopted daughter which was sweet as well. Kind of like teen romance. <<less

A cute fluffy story with the usual trope of a female lead getting transmigrated but with the twist that being that she is an ancient woman in a modern world.

Overall a good story with the slice of life being executed well. However there is a constant downplay on the MC for example calling the MC "ugly" every time a new character is introduced with her great personality (being a saint) making up for it.

Do be warned that you may want to bash your head when there is misunderstanding between the... more>> couple at the start. <<less

This novel isn't an absolute favorite but still I like it. It is true that MC has an inferiority complex, you cannot blame her for it or suddenly ask the author to make her confident because thats how she was from ancient times. And I think the author did a great job having MC stayed with her character.

To those who want a strong, confident and modern MC then this novel is not for you. Always remember that MC's character setting is from Ancient times she is sweet, capable, understanding and... more>> strives to treat the OG body's son and husband better.

This novel resonated with me so I'm recommending it. <<less

Gotta say, it's not bad! I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but it ended up not being as bad as I thought it would be. I thought the flip in the usual "modern girl transmigrates into ancient times" was kind of interesting -- here, it's "ancient times girl transmigrates into modern times" XD. This does mean that she's a little dryer than other FLs of the same genre -- her desires are simple and she's satisfied very easily. However, altogether, it ended up working out well with the slice... more>> of life premise.

Summary: The FL, Tang Tang, is a young woman that had been born in ancient times. After dying an unrighteous death, she wakes up in the body of a modern woman that was also named Tang Tang. This Tang Tang was married and had a son. However, she absolutely detested her current lifestyle, and as such, was neither kind to her husband or child. After the FL transmigrated into her body, she got to work on improving the life of said husband and child immediately, spoiling them to the fullest and showing them the beauty of a kind and virtuous wife.

I think this kind of novel may offend some people XD If only because they see virtuousness as degrading to a woman? IDK, there are some people like that. But, I personally don't mind it. The FL grew up like this because of her environment, and there's nothing wrong with that. The ML also doesn't restrict her in any way. It's a happy life for them! SO yeah. Not a bad read. Nothing too special either, but it kept my interest. As for the rating, I think it deserves 3.4/5 stars. Enough to round up to four stars! <<less
