not worth the time spent in reading this novel, the ending of this novel is sh*t and all I can say is it's not worth the time invested in reading it, so many plot holes introduced in the last arc, and the author just decided to just end the story without explaining why he introduced them anyway, and there is a country of the four-country that author just forgot about it completely, so my rating is the first arc is 4/5 then it went south with barely hanging at 1/5... more>> since these 5 creators introduced and the ending is just frustrating not kind of open ending or something close to open ending it's like the author just decided to just forget about all the sh*t happened so that he can move on <<less

... I... Don't know where to start.

It began quite well, dude was a Player who somehow landed on the world of the game at the beggining of the game timeline. He shows himself to be a great leader, mentioning how he must act cold and distant to be a good leader and all that jazz.

Stuff happen, more characters are introduced and more enemies appear. The whole power system seems way unbalanced because the first city he came to was a low level one or something because he was level 18... more>> but was seen as god. He beat someone he later said was a swordmaster around level 40 while he was lv7...

He has the face of a beautiful female (xianxia novels stuff) face even though he is MALE. He supposedly LOVED his sister at the beggining only to later mention how he hated her and that his love was non-existent because he never really had a chance to interact with her... making the whole beggining about mentioning him being sad about his dead sister from years ago and the shadow confrontation worthless.

Dude began as someone who didn't want the world to face a bad end because there were no players and to f*ck with the Light Kingdom to.... whatever it became later on. For example, there is this group of people from a country that even in the game NEVER did anything to him.... but the people from said country were mostly schoolars (it is basically Athens) making it a perfect game city to raid over and over for their amazing artifacts and shit. So, even though the expedition just wanted his mercenaries to protect them, he was already "salivating" over the drops they would have and if it was better to kill them all or not everyone...... and he was thinking about doing the same to said city.

Here we get a true glimse of the nature of the character... he is a cold sociopath.

Not like we didn't really know this in the past, after all. We are talking about the man who wished to have someone who he could actually speak about doing this kind of things (killing people in secret, assasinations, all for extra profit from their contractors or just cause they feel like it).

I have fear to continue this story. It doesn't look like it is heading a good path. I do not know why, but it feels like it will end up like that one story where the MC basically is god, brainwashes anyone, f*cks whoever he wants because they all like him at first glance for his masculinity (even though this guy have mostly a female appareance). <<less

An average story but the translation really brings it down. I'd take a guess that the translator isn't fully fluent in English as there's a lot of nuance lost and weirdly written sentences that makes it a worse read. You'll understand it just fine but it did pull me out of it a couple times. Other than that it's a typical transmigration story, if a bit on the poorer side. There's better stuff out there so unless there's nothing else to read I'd recommend passing on this one.

Great story I really like this novel. I've been reading web novels for a long time so its hard to find anything that can catch my attention any more. When you've read the dozen or more most popular fantasy web novels you'll be lucky to find a novel that has decent translation quality let alone complaining about filler. It has the perfect balance of just about everything. The right amount of world building battle and others with just the right amount of smut. The filler thins out after a 100... more>> or so chapters. The main character is apathetic and arrogant but he changes a little around chapter 700. But at least he isn't obsessed with hiding in the shadows to keep his strength a secret since the chines seem to be obsessed with that. Good read I recommend one of the few hidden gems. <<less

This is probably one of them stories with the most contradictive settings I've read so far.

Like for instance in the introduction of the MC we get told that he's been a complete NEET for at least 7 years because his sister died so he's withdrawn from everything and only plays the game all day but now that his parents also died he's decided he has to get a job since well his parents is no longer around to pay for everything.

But then it turns out the MC is some super... more>> genius who can do anything pretty much oh and he was a super player who slept around with everyone and just didn't want a serious relationship because most relationships he was in ended because he was way to good looking so even his girlfriends would feel bad and jealous so they couldn't be in a relationship because he made them feel inferior.

The above is pretty much the introduction of the MC in the first few chapters.

Then there is a bunch of focus on how the MC is the best player ever in the game and so on. But for some reason the way to make the MC seem like the best and smartest is to make everyone else in the story get -5000 braincells while for some reason the most basic stuff seems to go over the MC's head. Like as an example the MC as a player has a major advantage that that he can lvl up and get skill points he can freely invest into talents or skills. Talents can only be gained with skill points while skills can be upgraded with skill points, by using items or by simply using them. Skill points are however a limited resource and now that he's living in the game world where time runs the same as the real world instead of using skills to upgrade, mentioned to need between 100-1000 uses depending on it's ranks he invests the limited skill points because like before in the game ppl couldn't be bothered to waste time on training so like them the MC just uses his skill points to upgrade his skills cause you know wasting a few hours to at most a few days to just lvl them up is a waste compared to use the skill points he only has X amount of.

Then you have the authors random inserts of frankly weird parts at time that is used to show how "manly" and reliable the MC is while all the girls are shown to be such "nice" girls. Spoiler ahead.

Spoiler

Like for instance one of the weirdest parts is that after the MC goes back to earth we from nowhere get told that one of the harem members was actually pregnant before with the MC's child but was unknowingly forced to have an abortion because her family drugged her which killed the child. Oh and how did she get pregnant? Well they were just friends with benefits but didn't use any protection at all which the MC knew was bad but he didn't wanna be a downer so he didn't bring it up while she wanted his child but being a "good girl" she didn't wanna force him to marry her or be a bother and only wanted to raise the child of the man she loved. But it was such a shock that she actually got pregnant cause who knew having unprotected s*x over and over could get someone pregnant? (Like the author litterly writes she was trying to get pregnant one chapter and then goes on that it was such a shock she actually got pregnant cause who knew it would happen???).

So then to show his manly side the MC follows his harem to torture and butcher the ppl behind killing their child but then because more ppl in the family also looked down on and bullied his harem member the MC decides to just kill everyone in the family cause what girl doesn't like a man that would kill her whole family for her?

Like this whole part came out of nowhere pretty much and was just 3-4 chapters of weirdness to be honest.

Also in this same part before this we have also been informed that the MC's sister + friends (their pretty much the gods of the game world) were the reason why dinosaurs went extinct because they were losing the fight against chaos so they decided to run away or find a solution which was to involve earth in their war which in turn killed of almost every single living organism on earth 65 million years ago wiping out the dinosaurs and are now dragging modern earth into the war as well litterly dooming it as well if nothing changes. But of course the MC lies and blames chaos to humans on earth, cause chaos is bad and his harem members can do no wrong.

Oh and for the record the story also includes in*est (the MC has a daughter with his sister and eventually marries her), underaged girls (the girls are said to be something like 12-14) and pretty much r*pe all done by the MC.

[collapse]

But yeah I could probably go on, in short this is an okey story I guess with a major focus on the MC just being OP, the best in every way and building a big harem, think it's like 30ish girls.

The story is also heavily inspired by The Amber Sword (the author has stated that the story is sort of based of / inspired by The Amber Sword) which leads to the story being a mix of magic the gathering and an MMORPG game but compared to The Amber Sword there is next to no explanation of the system or the stuff the MC get's so you really have no clue of what the stuff actually does for the most part except that he grows stronger. Like sure getting +30% summon duration or -30% summon cost or increased spirit regen or reduction on spirit cost or the cards having 5 attack and 3 defense or whatever sounds nice. But if we have no idea how long the summoning duration is in the first place or how much they cost to summon outside of the MC just being able to summon them over and over and they seemingly have infinite summon duration already then what does an increase summon time or decreased summon cost actually do? And since there has been no explanation on how strong anything is then what does 5 attack and 3 defense actually signify? Basically the author don't seem to have much though out at all to be honest or even explained anything and instead just seemingly took the talent tree from a game like world of warcraft and thought that would be enough while also just adding in random numbers for the summons.

All in all it's an okey story I guess if you don't care for depth of any kind or for the story to make a lot of sense to be honest instead it's just an OP MC gathering his harem while face beating up ppl left and right but in a sort of western medieval fantasy setting. <<less

A mediocre novel so far. Perhaps 2.5/5 is more suitable than 3/5.

Speaking in general terms, this is a novel you can read to kill some time. It's not bad per se, but it somehow doesn't evoke my interest as I read. Maybe the protagonist is too much of an emotionless Gary Stu, so it's hard to like him? I mean, he doesn't really have any emotions for the reader to connect with. It's not that I dislike him.

Overall, the concept is very old by now: a guy gets sent from... more>> a virtual reality game into a world that closely resembles the game world. I read novels with much worse execution of this idea, but this one is, well, slightly boring. It's not that it's sloppy; the setting is just not exciting. Dry.

... One strong point of the setting I have to acknowledge is that the author didn't just stop at the game setting, recreating it brainlessly in reality, but also bothered to care about some realism. For example, the protagonist has to adjust his game-era strategies for NPC (as he calls them) that aren't going to respawn anymore. Or, I liked how people can't get instantly used to buffs and debuffs.

What goes for the concept goes for the plot as well. Most of the events are the kind that I couldn't care less about. It's nice to see that the protagonist has his own goal and the novel follows him trying to accomplish it instead of being a novel about some dude being swept by the events left and right (we all know such novels), but it doesn't feel like the protagonist is particularly emotionally invested into his goal. It feels tentative. It's as thought he had nothing to do, so he decided to do something he has already done in the game. There's no excitement about it.

As I said, the protagonist is a Gary Stu. There's too much perfect and not enough emotion when it comes to him. The former is understandable given the setting, but that doesn't make it okay. As for emotionlessness, it's supposed to be a sort of poker face that the protagonist carries, but when you read the novel, you get the feeling that it's not just a facade: the protagonist actually doesn't feel much emotion. It makes him boring, shallow, and difficult to connect with as a reader. He should be much more as a mercenary leader that wants to take over the world (or whatever his goal was lol, I don't remember, because it's too shallow).

Other characters are similarly shallow. I mean, it's okay because there must be generic background characters too, but there are too many of them lol. At least the love interests are unique in terms of personality, well, some of them are. Someone mentioned how it's disgusting how the protagonist copies real people and then has s*x with them, and, well, it's indeed controversial. I think it's fine if they were his lovers anyway previously, but indeed very weird if they weren't.

Overall, this novel is just too boring. I skimmed a lot of paragraphs because I couldn't be bothered to read in detail about events I didn't give a hoot about. Maybe it's worth reading the manhua, though, since graphic form is easier on the boring details (or it's easier to skip boring events...). Well, perhaps it's not really an issue of the plot, but the writing style? But I have no way of telling how accurately it was reflected in translation.

I think s*x scenes are the only remotely interesting part of the novel (lol right, but the author actually puts some effort into those, to the extent it surprised me considering CN censorship). <<less

Interesting premise, but too much unnecessary detail.

I tried to read through this novel, but I just can't. The plot itself is okay-ish, but the way the author try to tell the story is garbage.

Too much chapters are just a filler describing unnecessary details that have no relevance to the story whatsoever. You can try reading a chapter by just reading the first sentence of each paragraph and the story still make sense.

There are good moments but there's lots of uninteresting arcs and the writing is subpar. Tons of unnecessary details with lots of inconsistencies. After around 800 chapters it felt like a chore to continue this

Heck I almost skip this novel because of some low star review and thank god that I brace myself and read it tho.

This is one of the details novel I ever read. The author really like to write everything in details and you can imagine what he trying to tell you from his writing.

And the concept to isnt that bad. It look like The New Gate novel, The Amber sword and advent of archmage.

So. I decided to read the reviews after the quality of translation started going below primary school standards.

I never expected such low ratings and reviews to be honest. I mean I felt that this story was similar to Amber sword with the MC being a bit more proactive than Su Fei (or Brendel) from Amber sword. And Su Fei had a s*ave mentality and no ambition while Rhode didn't seem to be the kind to bow down to some princess.

But then I read the reviews.... Looks like the author lost... more>> his marbles after writing a few more chapters.... I thought it would've been a wonderful story, but from the looks of it, it's just another wanker's wet dream taking the form of a fiction...

I hate it when my expectations are ruined.

Still I'll read another 100 chapters are see for myself. Of course if it gets as unbearable as the reviews cautioned, I'd just quit. <<less

The MC was playing a game and then got transferred to the game world. The MC was one of the best players and he knows pretty much almost everything that is going to happen. So expect vast knowledge of people, places, and events that he will use to his advantage and get ahead of everyone
