Xu Xinyi woke up and had obtained a system, the system told her that she was a second female lead who would have a miserable end and that she has 2 choices, to endure all grievances and change for the better, or to walk the same road as the original and become a vicious woman.

She chose the second option.

One day Yi Yang couldn’t tolerate it anymore and, at the end of his patience, he demanded a divorce.

Xu Xinyi’s heart felt ecstatic when he put the divorce agreement in front of her but she looked at her husband with a sorrowful, heartbroken look on her face, then she waited for her husband to sign.

—“Hurry up! Sign quickly! I can finally leave this hellhole!”

But Yi Yang, who could suddenly hear Xu Xinyi’s thoughts, threw away the pen and said, “Not signing.”

***

Ever since Yi Yang discovered that he could hear Xu Xingyi’s thoughts, he found that while his wife kept kissing up to him and saying she loved him on the outside, in her heart she would laugh at that and think the complete opposite.

She only loved him on the surface.

“Husband, you are so nice, I love you so much ah~!”

—“I won’t have to be with this arrogant man forever, will I? I am really the most pitiful woman in the whole world!”

Yi Yang “Xu Xinyi !!!!!”

Reading the story I was kinda conflicted. Yea it was funny seeing the MC contradicting actions and thoughts against ML, but after awhile it was very tiring. The ML knows that MC doesn’t like him and obviously he doesn’t like her either. They were literally on the last step of divorce. Yet he still stays with her out of spite? Like can’t he just let her go to enjoy her little fresh meats. Sadly MC can’t leave on her own or else she’ll break character that she has to maintain... more>> because of the system. Honestly I liked the 2 ML more. All in all though the story was entertaining while I was reading it. I’ll put it on pause for now and probably resume in the future. <<less

Interested in the premise and stayed for the comedy. A light read. All around winner-in-life MC and typical CEO ML.

This is one of novel I could enjoy the most! The plot is excellent, very well written and well translated. Thank you!

I also loves how the author portray the female characters in an honest way and somehow very realistic. I mean, who doesn't imagine having entangled with a lot of fresh meat everyday? Both Xiyin and Anya had been very honest with their desire.

While Xiyin never act on it which is something most the women do, just imagining but actually not act on it. Anya, in the other hands pursue... more>> it bravely. Changing fresh meat every other weeks and being comfortable with her lifestyle. Who said only men can do that? Women can also do it! Just look at Anya! Although not every women as lucky as Anya. I mean, you have to have the right resources for that kind of life, for example : Pretty face, good figure, attractive personality, and of course a job that could help you meet with "the forest".

Well, the only plothole I could find was how the system gradually become less and less appeared. I mean, why the author deliberately make the system gone. She should hv explained it well about how come the system didn't even have punishment when the host failed to reach her target. Xiyin was considered failed, her target was to get divorce, but then the system didn't even send a warning signal when Xiyin slowly drifted from her goal and it was suddenly gone for the rest of the story.

Other than that, I was satisfied with the ending. This is one of the best executed ending I've found amongs other CN. I also loved to read the extras. I am going to read another novel by this author! I am a fan! <<less

There are people who rated this with one star. Like seriously? They are just picking faults. This novel is not meant to be taken seriously. This a comedy romance. They said that ML abused FL, like where? There is no physical and emotional abused!!! So s*upid.

Just give this a try and you will see how hilarious the FL and ML is.

So apart from the beginning, where the MLs inability to identify a persons true character made me so damn mad, the rest of the novel was pretty light hearted.

The MC is smart and likable. She cute and funny but also a pretty cunning woman. Its funny how she brings up divorce on every matter that she doesn't agree with.

But I got bored of this novel real quick since their wasn't much going on. Just the relationship development between MC and ML. It didn't make sense how suddenly the main characters... more>> could hear each other thoughts (but like when do novels actually make sense lol) and the ML didn't even have a reaction when he couldn't hear MCs thoughts towards the end..... This wasn't the best I've read and not the worst. Pretty lighthearted with no main villain. <<less

I really despise the ML

I felt heartache for the FMC. Two years of ignorance is a bit too much. Even for the OG FMC. Not fully describe in the novel either OG FMC is truly brazen/ arrogant/ annoying or not.

Interesting reading.

I need more closure actually.

Fast-paced and silly novel about reincarnation into the novel.

We have our usual MC (who is really naive but also perceptive at times - she can see through others but not her man ;)). And an overbearing CEO who can read her mind, is soo good at business but can't see through his "friends' " childish schemes.

At half point I was just asking myself why do FL & ML even bother with each other and waste the other party's time. But overall it was a good read with some laughs (cooking... more>> scene got me rolling).

There is also a post end for second ML and a side character which I think could be done beter though.

If you are bored or want to get a quick and easy to read laugh - it is a good novel for that. <<less

This novel is really funny and I enjoyed reading it.

The MC, Xu Xinyi, is one of the most BAMF villainess. She our here actually being a villain but a good one if that makes sense. She's not making problems just for the sake of it. Xu Xinyi actually uses her villain umbrella for good and to move things along. Reading the numerous ways she curses her husband in her head had me in stitches with laughter.

Yi Yang is like other MLs. He's overbearing, tyrannical and very possessive. The only difference... more>> is that he has no clue, at least in the beginning, of people around him being two-faced and trying to scam him. It took Xu Xinyi being her typical villainess self to open his eyes to peoples true nature.

I took a star off because the villains in this novel acted like they came out of a B rated movie. They weren't good at all and some didn't even need to be written in I feel. Also, Jiang Huai got on my nerves and I hope he ends up like his dad.

Overall, this novel was a pleasant surprise and a good read. <<less

This is really sweet! A very light, easy read (finished it within a day). The fact that he can hear her thoughts means infinite funny moments. I also really like the FL (so scheming but adorable too??) and the ML (he's not an a**!)

I recommend if you're looking for a quick, easy read with hilarious moments and some fluff. ≪3

Pro:

    • Funny, relatable MC.
    • MC is clever and cleverly deal with unpleasant people.
    • From the very beginning, ML is not quite a bad guy, he's just a bit... uh... naive when it comes to tricks. Unfortunately, the way he treats people he doesn't like can be bordering on cruel at times. 'Thanks' to his misunderstanding about MC, it was a hateful marriage for the MC during the first two-years. Even though the way he treated her is definitely bad, he was not physically violent at all and that is a massive relief for me because it is a common theme in many other stories of the same genre and I don't like it.
    • Unlike what some other reviewers said, MC is not a bad person either. Unlike ML, she can't read his thought and her bad experience during their first two years of marriage is mostly his fault so her concerns are justified.
    • The best thing about this story is the self-development of the characters especially the ML. Thanks to MC's thought, he reflected on his past actions, he acknowledges his fault, he ACTUALLY asks for forgiveness in a proper manner, and he slowly becomes the much-improved version of himself as the story goes on in a relatable and believable manner.
    • ML x MC = Love! Overall, they're pretty good for each other by chapter 73.
Con:

    • The original FL is now a villainess which is as cliche as it is : (I prefer the original FL and secondary ML get a happy ending as well.
    • I was also hoping for smut scenes even though there's no smut tag just because it's of romance and josei genre but by chapter 73, still no smut (they did kiss, twice, but that's it). This part is totally my fault but I thought I should put it here anyway as a warning for those with the same thought as mine. The good news is they are more lovey-dovey and there were even a bit of naughty scenes after chapter 73. Still, nothing explicit though.

the original MC turns out to be villianess. I dont get it why would the original MC be so scheming in negative way when she was supposed to be heroine in the actual story. I really hoped that XWY would also get her happiness sadly it didnt go that route.

Spoiler

MC system practically non-existent.

ML the one with cheat skill -reading MC's mind.

The FL is a white lotus, oh and while both MC and FL are scheming but at least MC isn't plotting to get ML's wealth after divorce (she has money of her own) and she isn't trying to harm him like QY.

ML doesn't see the true character of those around him. FL just wants to seduce the male characters so they protect and she enjoys a rich life.

At the start, both didn't like each other. ML was indifferent, he simply ignored the MC and did not do her real great harm (although yes, you can condemn his lack of effort, but so does MC)

MC was acting to get a divorce. They had no emotional ties and apart from their marriage, I don't see any reason for either of them to intervene in the other's life. MC never cheated despite the fact that she wants to collect a 100 fresh meat.

MC doesn't trust ML, and vice-versa. She holds the I-already-know-the-novel prejudice and makes a lot of misunderstandings (albeit quite funny). The actual conversations between them are very few, as most is ML learning from MC's thoughts.

They simply don't owe each other anything.

[collapse]

MC can stand up for herself and the face-slapping is really satisfying.

Spoiler

She is, despite misunderstanding a lot, rather reasonable and actually more clear-headed than ML. ML did not mistreat MC, and I must say he too judged too quickly.

[collapse]

MC isn't always on the losing side and does manage to get back at the ML. It's light and hilarious and I'm happy that the ML did not fall in love with MC out of nowhere. I really liked it and the version of MTL I read mostly clear. It's admittedly not one super-great awesome novel but I would definitely come back to it.

This is a light read. I love how the story unfolded. My issue would be about its ending for it is somehow lacking.
Spoiler

i.e. The system simply disappeared, even if it didn't play too much of a role. Plus, the ML's rivals simply went off without much of a fight. Their actions were completely backed by logic and morality though.

Maybe I'm used to dog-blood drama, and this isn't one. Still, this deserves a 5-star rating for its pacing, concept, and rationality.

As much as MCs whose personality is the 'stick-to-the-novel-bias' type are quite annoying and dumb, I actually... kind of liked this since misunderstandings between the ML and MC were relatively easily resolved (which was refreshing and a bit funny) because of the mind reading ability of the ML. It was cute to see the MC and ML slowly change their mind from wanting divorce to actually living as a happily married couple. You can say that it's a very light-hearted and refreshing novel since there's not much dog blood drama.... more>> If you want to take a rest from the heavy drama novels, I definitely recommend this <3 <<less

I nvr expected this story would be satisfying. The usual transmigration wife with actress as her job desc but surprisingly she's not your 'coolest, prettiest, hottest actress'.

I finished it months ago, but forgot to edit my review. Yes, it's very interesting, the theme was the usual but the execution with the husband's pov and involvement rather than the wife was fresh. However, when we got back to the usual entertainment ceo op actress on the rise cliche was where things got tiring and flat for me. The supporting characters... more>> were not your 2d characteristic, theirs are even more detailed and very mysterious with human suffering than MC & ML. I even more interested more on the support and enemy cahracters development more than ML MC. The failure of this marriage is the fault of both husband and wife.
Both of them are too ignorant and never care for their spouse. They just follow and hear from hear say, though the wife did those hear say rumor by her own will just because she wants to have some real drama in her boring life.
Both are so egoist, childish and needed to get some fact check.
It's lucky that the husband gets the ability to hear her wife's thought since neither want to continue the marriage.
Not something I would say I want to read again. <<less

I absolutely hate this one.

In case you wonder, I care not how bad the MC was treated. That's not the issue. I hate this because of how unsatisfied the ending is.

Since my hatred is due to personal feeling I will not rate this novel because in term of writing quality it is somewhere around 3/5.

However, I hate this novel the same way I hate countless other novels where they are just nonsensical wish-fulfilment fictions that fulfil the author's wish. I have no right to tell them not to write these... more>> novels' ending like this but I have the right to hate those as long as I don't use it as a reason to rate it low.

The point of this review? To alert readers. If you have the same taste as me, then I suggest you not to delve into this novel.

Specific Reasons I hate this: Two characters have no chemistry come together. While doing this is not uncommon, at the very least, I saw novels that attempted this and made significant enough character development and put them through tribulation to make the outcome of them being together a satisfying ending. This novel doesn't. The effort the male lead put into their relationship is not enough for a sensible female character to accept a reconciliation. In short, the author pull the ending out of their ass for their own desire not because the relationship had blossomed to the point of reconciliation. Such maneuver from the writer's side is so anti-climating that it ruins whatever goodwill and build-up the novel did in the early chapters. An unsatisfying ending is often far more important than a good opening or an acceptable middle. This is one of those cases. <<less

It's a good story to pass time. There is a good amount of subversion of certain tropes too. It's also got a bit of wife-chasing but no cheating. The MC is funny and straightforward and the ML is your typical male lead, but he's forced to introspect. Very little drama or suspense. MC usually solves things or someone steps in to help her. Thus, she's a bit Mary Sue. ML and his family proactively defeat the villainess and limit her ability to cause trouble to the MC.

I don't understand... more>> why people are hating on Xu XinYi (the MC).

Xu XinYi=XXY

Original XuXinYi= OriXXY

Yi Yang= YY

Xu WeiYin= XWY

XXY is stuck in this novel in someone else's body. She has knowledge of the novel so she knows that the character she's playing was hated by YY even though it's his wife. In the original story, YY and XWY humiliate and hurt OriXXY. Even though YY and OriXXY are husband and wife, he doesn't bother to understand her and chooses to hurt her on purpose. Regardless of being forced to marry her, which is BS because it's not like they dragged him to go marry her, he has a duty of care towards her as his wife. When XXY is confronted with the choice of either changing her villainous persona and acting as a dutiful wife to seduce YY or fulfilling the original role, she chooses the latter because she knows that YY didn't care about the OriXXY even though she loved him.

In fact, this decision is the most logical. A person's feelings are not easy to cheat. XXY shows many times that she's unfamiliar with love and her knowledge comes fully from dramas and stories. She doesn't have some sort of weird confidence that she can make him fall in love with her, so it's better to just act according to the script. XXY begins acting in a "villainous" manner. Her actions, when explained, aren't actually villainous but it's clear that people are trying to discredit her to rise up themselves and also that XXY doesn't bother cleaning it up because it's useful for her mission.

YY spends the first two years of their marriage treating XXY with cold violence. He doesn't care about her at all. This is not bad necessarily, but he also treats her poorly and doesn't defend her ever. Their marriage is an arranged marriage but he uses the fact to justify being at best, indifferent, and at worst, prejudicial, against her. Rather then blaming himself for marrying under pressure, or his grandfather for creating that pressure, he just blames XXY or OriXXY. When XXY transmigrates, it is under this blame that she decides it's better to eventually part ways with someone so contrary and cold.

The system prohibits XXY to deviate away from the script's villainous and besotted wife persona. Due to this, she can't just leave him but has to convince him to leave her. Just when she's about to be successful, the
Spoiler

system

[collapse]
gives YY the ability to read XXY's mind. He slowly realizes that her villainous persona is false or exaggerated and that his own judgements are hypocritical and harsh. He starts to see through people around him through her lens. This is a situation of a person who has always been liked and revered, YY, finally seeing the world through the lens of someone who is always targeted and trapped, XXY. As the third person omniscient reader, we understand this and can account for why YY's behavior changes.

To XXY, however, this is completely out of the blue. XXY is not OriXXY who was truly in love with YY. XXY is only in this situation because of the system. Even if she can understand that YY is supposed to hate her and her plan is working, no one would like a person who is so cold and uncaring towards them. Especially because it becomes clear that just a little digging on YY's part would have revealed that XXY is not that bad. Hence, it's not strange for XXY to view YY as an enemy. As long as YY divorces her, she'd be free but he's not doing that but also not exactly being kind to her either.

In a situation like this, with YY suddenly changing his mind and also purposefully messing with XXY, it's understandable that XXY is suspicious and annoyed by YY's change of heart. She's not a masochist, why should she like someone who blamed her for his own decisions and then was awful to her for two years only to suddenly change his mind and act in a confusing manner towards her. Since we pick up this story at the moment of YY's change, it's easy to think that XXY is just being annoying and doesn't deserve YY, but you have to take into account that XXY struggled for two years by herself with just her manager as a friend. XXY's only friend and support for two years while she was enduring cold violence from her husband, judgement from her MIL, and people purposefully discrediting her was her manager. YY didn't even acknowledge their marriage in their high society circles which is why no one knew XXY or wanted to help her.

When you consider this, it makes sense that XXY is indifferent or angered by YY's efforts when it's confusing at best or counter to her desires at worst. Things would go easier if YY was the kind of person who was straightforward or honest about his own feelings or if XXY had more experience in love, but that's not the case.

Later on, when YY consistently shows that he likes XXY and tries to be close to her, she does respond. It's just that she's slow to do so. She'd been treating him as an enemy for so long that him suddenly behaving like this is disconcerting to her. So you can consider their love story to officially start after YY makes up his mind to pursue her. Before that, it's just her treating him as an enemy while he's indecisive. It's after YY decides to get close to XXY that she starts to understand that he actually likes her and they grow feelings. For reference, it's not until the mid-50's chapter-wise that YY starts to really pursue XXY. The entire story is 84 chapters long. I'd say its not until the 70's that she starts to understand and somewhat reciprocate. <<less

5/5. Love it.

I read this before but I forgot to leave a review. I'll read it again and will edit this to give u a proper review afterwards XD

I remember it's really funny, coz the ML can read the mind of our MC and do the opposite of whatever she's thinking lololol. I love their interaction so much. It's happy ending too (acc to my memory).

... more>> EDIT:

I finished reading it now. Today is January 20, 2023, I wrote the first review last January 15, 2023. Forgive me for reading slowly, I'm in the middle of exam haha.

SUMMARY/PLOT:
Spoiler

MC got connected to a system and gave her a choice, either be a white lotus or a vicious woman. Hehe she choose the second option because why would she let herself suffer right.

For two years, she pretend she loves the ML while doing vicious things and letting the ML know so he could divorce her. (Why not initiate the divorce?) Because that's one of the premises of the system, the ML should be the one bringing up the divorce topic.

Buttt the day of the divorce. The ML suddenly heard the Mac's inner mind/heart. And he didn't continue the divorce out of... Hmm curiousity about her.

In the end, he fell in love with her.

[collapse]

Just like the sypnosis, the ML can hear the MC, which made this novel really interesting. It's really funny.

There are also 3 love interest in this whole novel. I fell pity for the second and third lead but we'll, the MC is attracting butterflies, what can we do lol.

The last chapter is the spoiler of all spoiler, so never jump to it. I realize how cute Xiao A is. I didn't expect that. But atleast now it cleared up a question that haunts my mind.

Idk what else to add. I'm bad at doing review.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
