Starts off with a similar set up to Come and Eat Shan Shan and Wipe Clean After Eating – with an overbearing but high spec male lead as boss/love interest and cute and naive female lead acting out a sweet and cute romance.

However it does have a few strengths:

1. Female lead successfully working in a male-dominated industry.

... more>> 2. Character growth, with the female lead becoming strong and being given the opportunity to retaliate, and the male lead maturing and becoming less of an alpha male (jerk).

3. Relationship develops into a more balanced one with a sense of security. Even if they get jealous and overreact they wouldn’t really doubt each other.

Overall it was quite funny, with a decent amount of jokes, although I found the If You Are The One/Fei Cheng Wu Rao reference kinda lame. Also the whole bunny/wolf thing was overdone, especially in some scenes where it was just awkward... However the characters and the relationship in general surpassed other similar rom-coms, more than compensating for these short-comings. 9/10 <<less

This novel feels like a combination of [Come and eat, shan shan], [Boss's Blind Date Notes] and [A slight smile is very charming] mix in together and Black Belly Boss is made. Although it feels the same but it has its own charm because unlike Shan shan who were so Dense (if you're not gonna slap it to her face she wont understand) or Xiao Bai that is like a walking disaster that her boss always clean her mess or Bei Wei Wei who only cares about gaming and the... more>> Male Lead has to do everything he can to capture her, here Nuo Nuo is a Rabbit that is clever but isn't wise, already know what's a head but still goes and make herself play in the palm of the wolves.

Although its short but its fun to read so i'll give it a 3.5, I want to give it 4 but the translation is not really good, You will really know its MT'led and the edit is not good and I have to decipher some of the sentence to understand it. <<less

Honestly this was so frustrating to read because it was one of those typical stories where the ML doesn't know how to chase MC or treat her right. In my opinion, it would have been better if she ended up with ML's brother, even though he's younger than her.

Her parents were also quite quick to side with ML and it was so annoying to see her parents trust a stranger rather than their own child and it was just a very bad and frustrating read overall.

This is one of the most frustrating novel that I've ever read. I think MC and ML's relationship was a bit toxic and even reading it made me exhausted.

Spoiler

ML was too controlling, domineering, and a typical chauvinist man. He often decided something for MC without asking for her opinion. The most painful example was when he forced her to quit the project that she wrote herself just because he was jealous. And he was manipulative too. For example, when he schemed for her to resign from the company just so they could get married peacefully.

MC was no better than ML. She was so timid and indecisive. She was easily misunderstood by others but didn't bother to clarify it and made things getting more complicated. She always demanded ML to be honest with her but on the other hand, she often lied to ML when it was related to the other man. In her defense, she just didn't want ML to be jealous but her lies rather implied that there was really something else.

[collapse]

And the story had the major plot hole that basically ruined the overall story.

Spoiler

When she submitted her resume to ML's company, she wrote that she was married (don't ask me the reason). Later, she was found out by ML when they're in a blind date together. And after that, there's no mention again about MC's "marital" status.

It was unlikely for ML to announce the truth about MC's "marital" status to his employees, right? So basically, MC's colleagues should still regard her as married woman, right? But from the beginning till the end, it's like MC's "marital" was nonexistent in the eyes of her colleagues. They even matched her with on of her colleague. They practically forcer her to do an "adultery" and they didn't seem bother about it.

Just up to this part, I must say this story totally depicts how a power difference between a couple can be a bit creepy, especially when the boss 公私不分 (can't separate working relationship and personal relationship).

Spoiler

boss turns her into full time employee when he thinks their relationship got closer, then because he got a bit jealous (just because she gave some soup to a senior who looks after her as a rookie), he is transferring her to work on another project (lying to her that it is marketed to females when it's a "male oriented" one), even though she was the one who came up with the concept on the one she was working on.

wow, how professional, why don't you blacklist her from the industry when she angers you next.

I admire her for quitting her job and following her dreams. However, aside from that there isn't a lot to admire. I don't see a lot of character development. In certain situations, the readers get to know more about the characters. But did many situations enlighten, influence, and/or allow the character to grow? No.

I want to think she got where she is because of her work, but the more I read the more I am starting to think she got where she is because the boss likes her. He didn't... more>> particularly say anything good about her work, rather he moves her to the 17th floor because he thought she lighten up the place as if she is a decoration. He has a large amount of control in the relationship, but she is not following obediently--something I really like about her. This force him to compromise sometimes. Overall, this novel is okay. I didn't finish it. At first, I enjoy it but eventually the novel couldn't keep me interest. <<less

errrmmm.. Kinda cute plot but it is also boring for me as someone who read over hundreds of romance books. Nothing stands out and honestly the translation gave me mini headaches. The book vibe is very similar to boss and me cdrama. Naive and kinda dumb FL with rich and powerful ML?

I don't remember if I wrote this before. Story is usual, nothing extraordinary. Characters are cliche ones, the usual stuff, upside is the FL is not as silly or useless like many of the same type of stories, while the ML is a self-centered, domineering (in a bad way) guy who takes benefit of his position to pressure others, an unlikeable ML.

After all these, I would still give it a 3 if the translation was better. Unfortunately some chapters are fine, while some others are very confusing in the way... more>> that there is no spelling error but the sentences and order of words don't make sense. <<less

Compare to other stories that contains CEO husband, this seems to be the most basic/simpliest that I had read. It lacks somethings (not really sure what it is). Additionally, I'm not satisfied with the ending. I want to see more, maybe their married life with children.

This is a really a PG-13 read. The translation really make someone puzzled but still alright. It’s a really sweet story that’s is hilarious at certain areas. Something different from reading tragedy story once a while.

Overall, the plot is very similar to others of the genre, but still a pleasing read. Has moments of humor and some character growth.

Romance is leaning more towards making readers laugh than serious, which I personally like. Don't know if we ever get a decent reason for the male lead's interest in her, other than her being a "white rabit", but so far I'm expecting her interest in him will rise gradually over time.

Unfortunately, I got to this after Come eat, Shan Shan, so I can't help compare the two,... more>> and Shan Shan is way funnier and engaging.

Translation quality is not so good which I think probably decreased my enjoyment. <<less

If only I didn't read gu man's series, I would rate this series on 5 star. Even though this series has its charming, it still feel inadequate if you compare it to a slight smile is very charming >.<

The male lead is move up and down in haughty manner, the secondary male lead didn't came after showing his shadow. Female lead even look smarter even though she look harmless.

Reviewed after epilogue and rated 4.
The translation needed editing and the plot felt a bit rushed; but if you can sort them out, then you’ll find this one as a cute and enjoyable romcom. There’s many cliches here; still, the setting and characters are easily relatable with readers. The vibe’s like a more down-to-earth version of “Wipe Clean After Eating” and “Come and Eat, Shan Shan”, so if you like them, you’ll probably like “Black Belly Boss, Don’t Run”.

The MC is a bit naive though not s*upid, and she tries hard to stick to her own ideals when it comes to her job (which is good). It's hard for a good girl to outsmart someone as cunning as the male lead, but the best plans can still backfire...

Quite a quick plot, sometimes frustrating (poor MC XD) but nothing overly dark/sad, funniness as expected of a romantic comedy.
