This is not a love story, and it isn't your typical business empire novel either. It's all about revenge.

Sadly as I continue to read this novel, one begins to understand that our MC is slowly but surely becoming a machine, with no emotions only dreaming of a becoming a God of wealth. I'm not going to pretend that I wasn't enthralled with the plot, as similar to the MC I did cryptocurrency trading with mild success before quitting.

In this novel, our MC creates an... more>> enterprise that trades Bitcoin, with the sole goal of luring his past life's killers into getting involved, only to crash Bitcoin to the ground and let them all burn. Unfortunately, the MC at this point doesn't care about other people that will lose their lives because of this either which was upsetting, but I don't blame it on the author because our MC was lost too.

The story is fascinating, and worth your time, there's no patriotism mumbo-jumbo, no "all westerners are tr*sh, " and no Chinese are all pigs. The author did a fantastic job with his presentation, but what pains me is the short, and sparse paragraphs that lack detailed descriptions. But it makes it up by being fast paced and heart racing scenarios.

If you've got the time, add it to your must-read list. <<less

So I'm almost at the end of the story (184/203) and the thing that stands out is how silly the story is. How complex situations gets solved with one paragraph. Gonna buy BMW corporation. BMW bought! Yeah, not happening that fast or that easy when multiple pension funds and the German gov is also involved in the ownership.

The story is all about a chance for revenge so far, money is just a tool for that. For some reason instead of just hiring a hitman and solving all his former mu*derers,... more>> he is determined to smash them with money. Now to smash his opponents with money causes the story to have absurd amounts thrown around, I think he is good for over 200 billion $ at this moment, he is acclaimed as the richest guy in the world and he still hasn't enough money to smash his enemies. See what I mean with silly?

(Finished the very silly story with a poor ending and it´s clearly written to be picked up as tv-show instead of working as a novel) <<less

For everyone who was expecting a lot from this novel and posting reviews about how x, y, z of this and that not being a, b, or c, guess what? Not happening. This novel is a pure revenge novel. Who doesn't like watching an honest man become so hell bent on revenge and becoming rich to the point that he becomes a working machine.

I gotta respect the MC for not once doing the deed with a woman in this story. This man is a TRUE saint.

The story is pretty mediocre... more>> in terms of writing though. I respect that it's not like a lot of novels using 25 chapters to explain 1 small part of a scene. It's a good throwaway read, so I don't have a lot of expectations for it.

tl;dr - dont expect typical ln bs, no romance/r rated junk, MC is a saint, and good to read in spare time. <<less

Its not a bad story to start out with. Just that there are tons of inconsistencies in the story. Not sure why most stories on this site ends up with people wanting to write a story where their math are worst than kindergardeners.

There are lots n I mean lots of 'convenient' situation to help the MC with just some made up stuff.

I initially thought the idea of what the ending would be but it was truly disappointing at the end.

It was like 'WHAT?!?!? That was it? Was that even an... more>> ending?'

If anything, it was more like let the readers imagine on their own about it. <<less

It was a fun read at the beginning but it became too monotonous. Most pros and cons have been mentioned already. I still enjoyed it though, but there was a point where I'm just forcing myself to read it. The novel lacks suspense since it heavily relies on things that we know, so no matter what the author throws, we obviously know that the MC would get over it EZPZly.

This novel is an okay, one would read it to just chill. It feels like a re-hash of CN novels like "I am Superstar" but obviously without racism, sexism, etc. I found the writing and MC to be quiet similar to Coder Lee Yong Ho and ended up finding out that it's by the same author lol

I would recommend people to read this novel but don't expect much in terms of plot or in-depth details. As I said before it's pretty much a wish fulfillment novel for author and quiet... more>> a few average readers too [me included]. The only problem I had so far was the lack of details and how he magically remembers the dates conveniently as the story progresses. Plot armor is obvious, I still enjoyed it though as I liked the initial part of the novel about programming but then it got boring with money just being thrown around : <<less

This is a fun rags to riches reincarnation revenge story that is worth reading if this is the kinda story you're looking for.

With that being said and SPOILERS AHEAD the biggest problem I have with this is not only the final revenge feeling quite underwhelming but on top of that the novel ends before we get to see a real resolution to the character. The most disappointing part of the book to me is that the author just needed to hit up like another 5 chapters about how the MC... more>> handling his life and love-life after revenge and who the girl he decides to be with in the end. I get the argument to be made about the story purely being about him making money and becoming the god of money but there were so many chapters about the MC saying "Once I'm done with my revenge then I can be happy". It felt good for him to finally get his revenge but I wanted just even 2 chapters more about him finally moving on from revenge and finding true happiness with best girl Shin. LOOK OK IT DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TO BE HER JUST HAVE A CHAPTER OF HIM HANGING OUT WITH HIS WIFE, CHILD, MUM AND POP. It could have been generic as f but it at least would feel more than "oh that's it I guess." <<less

4/5 for me, reason ?

Pros :

Spoiler
  1. the story really straightforward, the synopsis said MC want a revenge, there he does, often when I read second chance novel with MC has a regret, then he/she reborn or going back to the past, then MC often forgot about his/her goal at first, so for me this point is +.
  2. no racism to another country, so + for me.
  3. great novel to spend your free time.
[collapse]

Cons:

Spoiler
  1. I know it have Unrequited love tags and no romance tags, but I feel like a little romance at the end will be better ending for me.
  2. MC slowly became like a machine that only care about money and his revenge, at least I hope MC get more socialize with his friend not just with his college or worker and partner.

I'm a huge sucker for Second Chance novels. Love poor to rich ones too, but this novel falls out with me around hte fifties. I just don't care enough about the MC once he's made enough money to live a happy life.

I can understand his motivations to have enough capital to fund investment opportunities at the right times, but honestly he becomes too much of a showboat. His excuse is always "data mining", etc. Ignoring points where he would have changed history is already hard, but when he talks using... more>> future knowledge to predict natural disasters, elections, etc. I find it annoying.

I guess signs of this were clear earlier on, with how he handles software changes as a "rookie". Must have glossed over all of that because I love the rags to riches part of any second chance story, but once it's past that point I evaluate if there is any reason to continue reading, and in this case there really isn't. I can see our wealth demon already has his fingers into every account possible, so why read another 80 chapters of him showing off and maybe face slapping people who did him wrong in his past life.. <<less

This is an enjoyable second chance business management novel. This novel is also quite technical and researched, it starts with a focus on programming. Then comes the building of his business empire.

In the neverending sea of novels with padded wordcounts and unnecessary fluff, sometimes you gotta respect those novels that just set 1 clear goal, and then goes directly on to achieve it. Just like that other Korean novel "Kill the Hero" where the protagonist does exactly that, in "God of Money" the protagonist sets the goal of making a ton of money to take revenge, and then he does it. No BS side quests. Barely a hint of romantic interest, or even any platonic friendships between allies. Our guy is... more>> just here to get in, make money, take revenge, and get out, all in just over 200 chapters.

If you're lookin for a book that's about the journey and not the destination... you won't find that here. The destination (revenge) isn't even all that great at the end of the day, but you gotta respect the efficiency. <<less

Below average novel.

Review by "Timma" is pretty much spot on. First of all novel is sooooo booooring!

The thing that annoy me the most is data analyzing excuse. Predicting exactly how many seats parties will win in election by data analysis, its kinda far-fetched, isn't it?. Also telling people that president will die next month from natural cause, just to build his credibility. This is just plain s*upidity.

I wouldn't recommend it.

The MC is an honest guy, inflexible, busybody character and has a bit of arrogance from the position he has in his work as you can read in the first few chapters, at 36 years old he was the chief one of the most important dept. In the company, he's a hard worker that climbed up the ranks fast as he is one of the employees that helped the company to rise. Now, I said that he's inflexible and honest because of what he saw that was happening in... more>> the company, an anomaly (corruption) from the CEO and owner of the company that he can't tolerate as he has worked so hard for nothing, but remember that this kind of character wouldn't really last anywhere in reality.

The revenge is strong in this one as he suffered on his work and was killed later on.

You might say that of what mentality that I show in my opinion is not good but that's one of the realities in life. You have to be strong and cunning to survive! But in his second chance, he knew what's to change and he still kept his morality and worked hard again. Honesty, Morality & Integrity. He would win just by being the God of Money. Overall, it's pretty good to read and can finish it fast as it only has 200 chapters. <<less

My favorite type of stories are about business and finance. This story and Extraordinary Genius are my favorite webnovels.

I have some qualms with this story but overall I would recommend it. You can read the whole thing just google it don't bother with Webnoveldotcom

Spoiler

The few problems I have are that the love interest is not even used as a cliffhanger at the end of the story (but it does make you wonder would it happen). Another problem is with his yearning for revenge, but I guess that's a standard gripe with webnovels.

The story was overall exceptional for its plot, but I can't help but be left unsatisfied with how it all ended. The MC never had any risky moments where he had to do something to save his company and/or loved ones. The MC had no r-rated moments or slept with any women. Although there are many times when women wanted him whether for money, fame, etc. But he pushed them all away. There was even one that wanted him so badly she was begging him even though she was a... more>> little drunk. What I'm trying to say here is that there were many opportunities to make the story more interesting, but even if the story is all about him getting revenge I feel like the story ended off good. <<less

I don't know why everyone is talking tr*sh about the plot. What do you expect? And it wasn't even that bad of a plot, only loose explanations, and solutions that gave the MC an edge. It was a fun read, do not come and expect a dense plot where the MC goes around spending multiple chapters on a project. At least it isn't extensive as other Chinese novels that take a whole chapter to prove a point which could be elaborated in only a paragraph. It's consecutive in plot and... more>> the mc's objectives. In general, was just enjoyable to waste time on. <<less

The story is not super good, but it is not that bad either. It's a novel that you will read while waiting for other novels to update.

The title is kinda misleading too, it's more like God of Revenge than God of Money because the ending is kinda weird and unsatisfying.

Spoiler

The novel ends as soon as the MC get his revenge. We don't get to see the result of his final plan at all.

That said, it's still worth reading if you've got nothing to do.

it's a good rea. A lot of business jargon, good and bad side of the industry as well as, well developed major characters. The MC is not bad but his single-minded focus on revenge seems overused and he is too caught up in this obsession that it's borderline creepy, not exciting. If the other person was a woman, I would think he was obsessively in love and couldn't bear to see her be with another man kinda level of stalky creepiness. I would admit that I prefer the writing style... more>> better than extraordinary genius. It doesn't lack female characters yet it is also not a harem. Just women who are more aware of him but doesn't inexplicably fall for him. In this way, I also like extra ordinary genius. The MC is popular enough but don't take relasionships lightly and they have a level headed disposition. I can't help to compare the two novels because they have parallel story line and vibe although you may argue the finer points. GOM has more finesse than EG but EG has more spontaneity. Well, this is just my opinion. Everybook impact readers differently so I still suggest you read and figure it out yourselves. <<less

The story was okiish~ But the ending was disappointing like he ended his revenge and the story finished ? I was so interested in what he would do after his revenge, how will it go ? Will he have some romance, get married, do something super good or cool with his wealth or not? But the author didn't write anything. He didn't even give a hint ;-;

I would rate it 3.5 or so

It's overall a good book, but the MC may seem very rash and stubborn, which he is because he knows the future. But I kind of wish he failed so that he can mature. He's just trying to take over the world with the belief that he's the best. But like, when the future he knows disappears or it ends, what's he going to do?

I'd actually rate it a 3
