This novel is also known as [I was caught and brought back after using and tossing aside the Great Demon King of e-sports…]

Wei Xiao––the former rookie king of the league, now an accompanying player and tr*sh talk king, had a stupefied look on his face!

Someone bought 10,000 games with him!

200 yuan a game, for a neat and tidy total of two million yuan!

Wei Xiao: “Boss, you didn’t miscount the zeroes, right?”

“No.”

“You want me to accompany you to play 10,000 games?”

“Mm.”

Wei Xiao was amazed. But just when he thought he’d encountered a generous fool and was having a good time deceiving and playing with them, he discovered the other party’s identity.

This person actually turned out to be his previous captain, the one whose hands were tired from accepting too many championship trophies, the one who made everyone feel fear when they heard his name, the Great Demon King of the league, Lu Feng!

Wei Xiao: “I’m sorry for disturbing you, goodbye!”

Lu Feng picked up the little bastard who wanted to run, “Have you played around enough? Come back for training if you’ve played enough!”

Later on, Wei Xiao became famous in a single game. The host interviewed him, “How would you evaluate God Lu?”

Wei Xiao: “God Lu? Great technique, strong physical strength, and the most heaven-defying thing is his endurance!”

Host: “???”

How come the answer seemed to be a little strange?!

4.5 out of 5😁. Tbh I picked this up because of the 'romance' and comedy tag and because it's bl, wishing a good read. And you know what? Gosh, I found that it is quite rare to read something that makes your blood boils while laughing sh*t at same time. I've read lots of em e-sport novel before, some rated higher than this one but none of those books gave me this feeling of 'sated' like GLORY. I absolutely came for romance but when I read page by page through and thoroughly, romance became the last in my mind. This is glory for f*** sake, I can't stop reading while palpitating, inching more and more to every heart of the competitors, and gosh.. I've been pulled along by the author to feel the same excitements, madness and all.. For the glory itself. Romance? It's indeed a bonus but I found ny heart beats vigorously more for every game, every winning and the glory. I love this story, yeah I do. Wont be giving any spoiler here, suffice it to say I wont get bored reading this one again and again.

I loved more than one titles by this writer, but this one definitely bored me

as soon as the main couple get together, it’s kind of dead due to more ego trip

it was already heavy on tr*shing all the other characters, but ad a pink bubble to that and it goes from excessive but fun to absolutely rude and annoying

... more>> it’s rather disappointing as the characters are interesting and not to 2D, but the me myself and my super boss lover thing is too tiresome

it would had been better with more room for the cast and a bit less tr*shing a bunch of understanding good friends - you can’t live your all life in a planet for 2, and expect the whole world to forgive everything because it’s you

(well, that’s another problem all together, but - again - the couple ‘s role attribution is as tiresome as ever - what’s the point of a gay couple if it’s too define a male/female dynamic... ?) <<less

This story is a masterpiece. I have been going through all of the esports light novels, and this one touched me in a very distinct way.

The author places a lot of effort into humanizing the characters. They're 3d, they're human, they make mistakes, they have regrets. Wei Xiao is the happiest, sunniest, strongest little kid ever, but what went on in his childhood to make him that way? Lu Feng is the god in everyone's eyes, but what is he carrying on his shoulders? Throughout this story, the author tells... more>> us, don't take anything for granted. Don't judge someone by what you see of their actions. I don't even remember how many times I cried while reading this, how many times I would start sobbing from the angst, from the sorrow, from the loneliness that they showed. This isn't just a story about esports. This is a story about growing up, about love, about forgiveness, about trust and sacrifice.

Read this. You won't regret it. Keep an open mind, laugh at the tr*shtalking and adorable interactions, cry from their backstories and sorrows, and maybe Wei Xiao can shine his light on you too. <<less

As an avid fan of esports, I can definitely say this story is one of my cup of tea. Wei Xiao is very funnny hahahah our Lil lunatic Wei deserving of his title. I laughed so hard many time and of course there wer touching moments too. Shameless MC but with the proper backbone -he really do give his best in game and a good leader lifting up his teammates spirit

Will finish in the future, nice translation

Stopeed at 205 (already the start of global competition)

I really love this novel. This is my 2nd esports novel (first is Guide on how to fail at online dating). I wish it did not end 😭.I actually finished/continued reading it on MTL because it's so fun and good. The game part is also easy to understand and actually fun. I really enjoyed it and 299 chapters seemed to short for me 😢

I love all the characters especially Wei Xiao, the MC. I like how funny he is, he does not even try hahaha and also he is a... more>> tr*sh talker but he has the ability to back it up. I also like the ML, his backstory and history with his old teammates.

While reading I thought I would hate the old teammates but I actually like them 😭

Side characters are also great 😭 <<less

What I have learned from reading this novel is that I really enjoy shameless characters. The MC is hilarious I look forward to all his interactions. I can't MTL this because then I'd lose out on the humor and its what makes this novel so fun.

The main character is like a combination of Wei Wuxian (魔道祖师) and Yu Xiu (全职高手), shameless and hilarious! I really like these types of characters -- they setup great comedic moments! On top of this, this is the first time I've read of a gaming/sports BL by the marvelous Long Qi, so there's much I anticipate in the coming chapters.

The love interest (I presume he might be the gong), has a dry sense of humor too, which is great -- since it's tiring to always have cold, overbearing, dull-as-a-doormat type... more>> of MLs. The starting setup is pretty great, and I look forward to the group translating this, as the quality is top-notch! All the footnotes are much appreciated. <<less

It's the best bl e-sports novel ever. I don't know how many time I've read this novel yet I still never feel bored.

-Comedy

-Drama

... more>> -Love

-International and national rivalry

-Detail of players plus game characters

-Involvement of every character in the novel

- my fav. Protagonist's sharp tongue

-Nothing is too much or too less

-Face slapping

-best ml

What I like about this novel is that- there are so many teams and players but the author lets us see all of their hard work. Even though there were some cannon fodders still others had a reason for everything to happen.

The author didn't point at any country, all you can feel is about esports and players and the shameless love of the protagonist.

In a sense, ML and the protagonist were pretty mature. <<less

The novel started off well and I loved reading the first 100 chapters but after that it got really annoying to read! It was China competition zone blah blah blah bringing glory blah blah blah and the past was told literally EVERY. SINGLE. CHAPTER! The constant repetition unnecessarily drags down the pace of the story and makes the reading experience tiring. The fan comments in every chapter was so exasperating. It was so repetitive and monotonous that I skipped all fan comments and managed to finish the last 200 chapters... more>> within few hours. I have read a lot of really good esports novels and I had expectations for this one after seeing the high reviews but for me personally it was a complete let down! <<less

I have read lots and lots of esport novels and this may be the best if not one of the best in the category. The 299 chapters were used beautifully and you really enjoy the time passing with the characters.

  • The characters are amazing. I'm not only talking about the main couple but also all the other characters that are used throughout the novel. I like that the author rarely uses a minor side character that comes and goes in a few chapters (I've seen this a lot, especially in esport novel) Instead the characters are used to answer the questions we have about the main couple. I also love that the side characters are done very vividly in that you need every character because they all make the story alive.
  • Love the plot and the character development. There are a few main side characters which I dislike at first then grow to adore as I learn about their situation. I also very much appreciate how the author explains everything not in one sitting but slowly and gradually in those chapters.
  • I laughed a lot, cried so many times, get very motivated and felt very happy as I read this. In a way, I know that we will get a happy ending but the journey to it is extremely hard and almost seems impossible sometimes. There are times that I did sit and get very nervous about what's gonna happen.
All in all, such a good read and will come back to reread it once the whole translation is done. If you're hesitating whether or not to read it then please at least give it a try because the first few chapters got me hooked right away!

THE NOVEL GLORY

The novel was amazing, never had a roller coaster of emotions in my life (I was crying and laughing at the same time). I have just finished reading till chapter 69 and I can' t wait for FTW to win the game. Can't wait for more fluff. This novel was reccommended by another reader to me and it was definetly worth the time. The character are really interesting and the ML and MC flirting with one another (even when they are not flirting). The character are hilarious... more>> especially the ML and MC. The sportmanship of game was alsomamzing, our MC is amazing in giving encouragement to the team. <<less

This is the third novel I read from Long Qi, and it's surprisingly the one I like the most! I'm a sucker for slow burn and fluff, so I really enjoyed this one!

I know absolutely nothing about MOBA games, but for some reason, the way the game scenes are written are really engaging and interesting! I was eager to see whatever crazy tactic Wei Xiao would pull to best his opponents.

The best thing about this novel is the humor. It had undoubtedly made me laugh numerous times! Wei Xiao is... more>> probably the most shameless character I have ever read, yet he's so charming?? I just love how he always digs a pit for himself with his words. Also, Bai Cai? This dear vegetable had cracked me up way too many times, and I pray for his sanity.

Overall, despite this being the second gaming/e-sports danmei that I've read, I have loved every bit of it. I caught up with the translations, but I don't plan on reading the MTLs for this primarily because the translations of this are so good! <<less

Xiaoxiao's shamelessness (oh god all the double entendres 🤣🤣) made me afraid to eat or drink while reading the novel or else I might accidentally off-ed myself... 😂

Really love how it's going so far and the interaction between MC & ML is so cute. Xiaoxiao is just a little darling gremlin. His personality is kinda like Wei Wuxian from MDZS but I feel like Xiaoxiao is way more shameless 😂

It's filled with tr*sh-talking and a protagonist that keep digging his own grave. Our MC is both a genius and a dummy at the same time lol.

As for the gaming aspect, it didn't go in-depth like The Kings Avatar. The fight scenes are more like a concise summary with occasional tr*sh-talking to keep nongamers interested in reading the novel. From that could be read so far, the author does play some game, so there's no awkward mechanics that just being there to make the MC looks great.

It's a fun read... more>> until I remember that the average pro gamers didn't look all that cute in real life. <<less

Dropped at Chapter 148.

Sigh, I can't go on anymore. I tried finishing this for the past two weeks but it feels like a chore. The novel was fun to read at first, fresh and funny. MC, Wei Xiao, has a razor sharp tongue and excellent gaming skills. I liked him and his interactions with others... tough on the outside but is a true softie.

The novel starts to drag after the couple gets together. There is the game competition plot to carry it on but it's by pulling on the heart... more>> strings of the reader's patriotism. But umm, I'm not Chinese so it ain't working on me. It turns me off a lil too since there are insinuations of racism, that foreign people look down on Chinese people.

In summary, a novel that started off strong but lost its momentum halfway through.

Spoiler

ML, Lu Feng, fell in love with MC at first sight. However, MC considered ML as his idol at first.

MC didn't sign with ML's team in the past because his grandmother got sick and passed away. He thought she didn't want him to pursue e-sports so he gave it up for college. However, ML helped MC realize that this wasn't true and that she was proud of him.

As of Chapter 148, MC and ML are a couple. ML has gone overseas to rehab his bad shoulder. MC is leading the team during China's regular season games.

Love MC's shameless personality, side characters have fun personality's too. ML's personality does not stand out and has similar vibes to most CN MLs as in known for cold and stoic but sweet towards MC

This is overall enjoyable however impossible for me to finish reading. I'm someone who has to binge series and can't read one chapter weekly or pick up where I left off after 6 months because I can't read stuff if I forget small details. However, this series becomes painful to binge around the 150-200 chapter mark... more>> for me because it is painfully repetive in some cases when describing the games --it fills up word count and I can't bring myself to care, I definitely believe this series goes on for longer than it should. This is my second time attempting to read it and I still can't finish the last 100 chapters because we all know they're going to win the championship so there's nothing left to look forward to.

The couple gets together rather late in word count and I'd consider this slow burn not rushed but it's early in relation to how much the author writes and how much more there is left

From how far I managed to read it's 5 stars and I recommend reading atleast first 100-150 chapters it's wonderful but this would have been god tier if the aurhor did not focus so much on describing small matches or perhaps made them more interesting. There are many novels were the plot itself carries and you would read it even if the novel had no romance (e.g. Mo dao zu shi suceeding so much even as donghua and drama where the bl is cut and censored because the world building and other characters are amazing) this is no king's avatar either where the gaming and competition aspect is amazing on its own. If the romance was cut from this one it could last a bit on the mc's snarky personality but it would be so much worse. The romance carries this but halfway through the novel theyre together and its stale again just short descriptions of them flirting and repetitive. Of course there's still character development but not enough for me to read presumably over 200000 more words of random competions its just dull now unfortunately even though the start was so strong.

tl;dr : amazing intially but also I dropped. Read until you feel like you're forcing yourself to read more and it starts feeling repetitive --worth reading till couple gets together <<less
