It is enjoyable to read, when you want to take break from other novels, however the is too confident to himself for me. It keeps saying that the people who works for him, won't understand his choices, and he sees them as old fashioned people and are inflexible. If I were the MC, I would f*cking hire other people you know.

I have an issue with this novel, which is that the author does not seem to understand the laws of physics.

Here is the technical explication :

Spoiler

How do you create a magic fan ? Well you create a wind array, and then you use the wind to activate the fan that will make wind. Maybe it would have made more sense to redirect the wind of the wind array outside no ? Like this you would loose less energy.

How do you create a magic air conditionner ? Well you use magic to create cold magically, and you put the magic air conditionner in an enclosed space and it will work. Except that an air conditionner does not work like this. In fact the air conditionner is an heat pump. So you need an opening to release the heat outside of your house for it to work. An air conditionner does not work in an enclosed space.
[collapse]

Anyway, that just me rambling but it annoys me that the author is not careful about physics in a novel that is precisely about changing the world with modern tech.

Pretty damn good for a CN, then again, im a sucker for Industrialization novels and Kingdom Building/Modernization kinda stuff like RTW

The translator is pretty good, with some hiccup here and there but the story is readable, the author is also decent

Bad part is the forced harem ambiguation thingy happening on the story, Im not sure to which direction the author wants to go: a monogamous or polygamous route?

... more>> Also why is Still parents never been characterized?

Otherwise, it's a pretty good industrialization story with magic as source of energy instead of traditional propulsion and energy sources like combustion engine or electrical motors <<less

This novel had great potential but the author failed at working out a decent world building, working out proper finance and doing enough research.

At first one would think there is a plot but after a while people will notice that pretty much everything outside of a few characters exist to glorify the MC. The author would never explore more about the society and just write whatever to fit the MC path.

At some point, any reader will realize that the amount of money the MC earn is not comparable to what... more>> he spend and the author keeps inventing stuff to fudge over this point.

Lastly, the author just failed at economics but still trying to make up stuff. It really hard to explain but the author assume the economy is infinite and somehow just works like magic even when the MC is causing major chaos in it. At the least, the economy would experiencing liquidity shortage of the MC keeps making and throwing money randomly. <<less

While the book has some wasted potential, I enjoy it well enough. It's an event-driven story rather than a character driven story, so sometimes it can feel a bit flat. You probably won't enjoy it if you're expecting something at the level of Release That Witch, but it's an interesting read. A lot of reviewers seem to dismiss stuff for being "unrealistic" when related to the industrial revolution. 1) There's literally magic. 2) The entire background is that the guy was one of the top geniuses of mechanical engineering. If... more>> you aren't the latter, then just sit back and suspend that disbelief. <<less

Firstly writting quality is not bad and translation is decent compared to other chinese novels.

The concept of technology and magic is interesting but here it's more industrialisation with magic as fuel. I beleive the concept of magitech where both are used together to acheive result is better. I mean with magic a simple fan would be more like the Dyson (c) without blade ya know. But I beleive it would apply to every "machine". If not what is the point of magic?

And finally the wolrd view of MC and feminism.... more>> I'm all for gender justice and betterment of women place in a society but to me feminist is not about this anymore. Their professor said "Women can hold half of the sky". When you read chinese novels you should understand the symbolism of this phrase. But now mainly MCs are poster childs of neo-feminism and give in to almost anything and if they portay MC strong outside he must be afraid and subversient to his wife/GF/... This is not gender equity/equality even less justice. The relashinship with FML is forced and one sided MC appear like a pushover. Why her specifically appart the fact that she pushed for it? Why chose her? Pregnacy without intimacy (I don't talk about s*x here mind you) and MC lay it to rest quickly when it stem just from a misconception (Few men would find a pregnant woman unsightly).

At least there is no modern warfare up to where I read but it could have been nice to have some nature preservation ahead of time to show lessons learned from the old world for him but sadly I didn't see any. <<less

So ret*rded, oh my f*cking god. With every interaction that the MC has with the world being extremely heinous, schemed, perfectly thought out with hidden meanings only a god could unveil and a c*ck which the MC eats every 2-3 paragraphs and shares it with any other poor soul that was forced into the novel to be copy-paste of even the most 'important' figures at the moment just to be the very same as even an extra in terms of every single little bit that characterization means. It gets tiring... more>> and turns your brains into meat paste just laying there atop your body.

This novel inherits the dead-tarded dog blood chinese drama that they think works, just another one of their utmost childish views, and on art itself from all and any other single target. It's a pity that it had so much ret*rded bullsh*t since the beginning, but at the same time, it is also a fortunate thing since it wasn't implemented about 1, 000+ chapters in the long run and I/you as well can dropped this bastardly thing from the beginning.

It is a pity though, because from all novels that are translated by either other blogs or webnovel itself, this one is incredibly translated to the point that I can only become frustrated with the author's (not even gonna bother remember this one's name) thoughts of anything he writes to be perfect. This kind of thought that gives birth to senseless and subsequent 'drama' and 'difficulties' that amount, at the end, to nothing. <<less

The story is overall enjoyable if you shut your brain to read, not bothering with whether or not the author understands engineering. The problem with this novel is the ending was just too shitty. No explanation done just end it like.

Lol, dude it is like he is the Apple of his time just compare some of his company achievements and policies to Apple iPhone company and the rest is easy.

The story is fun other than Copyrights policy and patent policy that I don’t acknowledge and abhor the logic and morals behind them, the rest are a breeze.

Only I thought it would be like “I am the monarch” and “Hail the king” novels but never thought so business focus but well all is good.

Although this novel can't be said to be the best one out there, it isn't that bad either. As long as you turn off your brain and don't think too much about logic, you will most likely enjoy it.

Another Chinese webnovels with 1k+ chapters and it still have the same old problem with every 1k+ chapters on every Chinese webnovels. The writing quality is very inconsistent.

There are so many unnecessary detailed paragraphs and explanations (lots of them even have literally the same thing being written repeatedly in two paragraphs/sentences, but with different words) that I straight up skipped them altogether and I still have no problem following the story. But ironically, the actually needed details were all skipped by the author and I find this to be very... more>> funny. I'm just glad that neither Japanese nor Korean webnovels have this daily word counts/quota towards their work, cause it literally destroyed so many promising webnovels.

Also, from what I've read I can safely say these :

  1. This is NOT a kingdom building webnovel. It's closer to business type webnovels except its not happening in modern world setting. There's no point comparing this novel to an actual kingdom building novel, because MC literally doesn't care about it and he didn't try to build one either.
  2. There are barely any actions (including wars), and even if it had, author tends to skip/summarized it in just few paragraphs/chapters
  3. The romance here is basically just a fanservice and it has the same problem as what I stated in no. 2; author tends to skip/summarized them in just few paragraphs/chapters. You can take them out and it will barely affect the whole story
  4. It has weak to strong tag and while it's actually true, MC barely used it. Like what I said in my second point, there's too little actions being written.
But even with all those problems, I cannot avoid the truth that it's actually decently interesting, so I'm sticking to this til the end. <<less

It's Release that Witch but instead of being set in a fantasy world constantly at war, the premise is a fantasy world that never goes to war.

Author clearly copied the premise of RtW (Mech Engineer gets isekaid) and then purposefully writes to avoid the same pitfalls RtW had, but creates their own in the process.

Every villain or conflict is a joke that gets walked on by a beta MC.

Not good, but not bad either.

Overall, this is an average novel (as far as I read).

I won't go into much detail, since there are several detailed reviews, but I will cover some points that made an impression on me (whether good or bad).

First, the setting. Honestly, it's meh. Politics and geography are okay, magic tech is okay, the other races are barely okay, but magic itself is really half-assed. It's basically only a plot device to make magic industrial revolution possible. It isn't explained, it's full of asspulls, and the protagonist randomly levels up because... more>> plot and you wouldn't know until some other character asked him.

The plot itself. Hmm. The industrial and business part of the plot is quite good. The problem is that the author clearly only truly wants to write about that and business relations, so everything else suffers. Non-business relationships are developed slowly, and the author has a very annoying tendency to put a cliffhanger in the middle of moments where something romance-related happens and completely skip the rest, at most mentioning it in passing later. If you like fluff, none of that here as far as I read. This and lack of action (so far at least) means that the plot is rather bland and feels like chewing on hard stale bread in the long run.

Similarly, characters are also underdeveloped. They aren't really interesting in most cases, and they don't have a lot of "screen" time unless they're related to business/company. The romance is rather bland (because there are too few scenes, and too much is skipped), and male lead just got engaged where I stopped reading, and has no interest in other women (or actually in his own fiancee, since he's a workaholic more or less).

The only good thing about characters in general is that this novel breaks away from the cliche beat-me-up-and-my-brother/father-will-show-up. Although there are some young master types here, the protagonist deals with them smartly, and their older relatives aren't idiots who will go take revenge on MC for just the slightest grievance with bloodshot eyes.

Overall, as far as I read, this is a rather bland novel. If you like business and industrial stuff, you may enjoy it, but I found myself skimming a lot of chapters before I decided to just stop wasting time on it. It's simply not my cup of tea. <<less

Although this novel can be quite entertaining, the way the main character (/the author) handles business is terrible and makes it very hard to read. E.g: he keeps giving away technology that previously only he could produce, the way he calculates salaries and bonus makes no sense,...

He hopes to create a (magic) industrial revolution but the way he does it makes no sense due to how society works and the huge differences between social classes. If he gives away technology (the means to produce it), who would be the ones... more>> that would control it? The powerful people (for the most part nobles and, of course, some merchants that have some sort of relation with other nobles). By being the only person that controls that technology, he could control how the continent would develop. He could help a lot more people too.

Would any smart character get involved in war technology when the king can easily snatch it (like he did) ? Not only that, did he ever think about what will others do with that technology? They could try create far more terrible weapons since they don't have any experience on how it will affect their world (like it did on ours). <<less

Another tech&magic mashup novel which is pretty entertaining IF you can ignore some technical mistakes and characters that cant think for themselves and are just bad writing filled up with tropes (The interpretation of Dwarves and Elves is just really horrible, and while there are characters of the respective races that stand out a bit from the masses, theres not much difference in the end.)
