To be honest, I stopped reading this novel a few months back because I was so finished with the 'cute' this cute that somewhat of a stereotype towards ukes that even their toes are cute. Like really? I want to see chemistry, appreciation, a deep build up and so on.

But since I ran out of novels to read and I found others as unsatisfactory, I continued this one and I honestly don't regret it. There was humour, some annoying bugs, satisfying reversals and so on. But what I loved most... more>> was the portrayal of people's hardships. They were as close as one can get to reality and they portrayed the efforts of artists behind their fame and status.

It also makes me somewhat better understand movies and based on this novel, I can tell for sure that there are really those who makes movies for money, and yet there are those who are works born from passion and it makes me appreciate them all the more.

I love that fleeting sneak peak into the minds of creators.

Loved this one! It is very unique in that it doesn’t just focus on the main couple. All of the artists that Shen Huai finds have backstories, clear motivations, and depth that you don’t usually see in supporting characters (especially the female ones). Exploring all of the different aspects of the arts that each of the ghosts were interested in made the novel more interesting and varied for me than other novels in the reborn actor/musician/whatever genre. Instead of just facing the same obstacles with slightly greater difficulty ... more>> (e.g. Acting in a first role, then a slightly harder role, then another, interspersed with various other actors trying to sabotage them) we got to see a variety of obstacles and the ways the different characters would face them.

I’ll admit Shen Huai did seem a bit op and miraculously good at everything he did, but I didn’t really mind. He never really felt like the main focus of the story and was more of enabler for the other characters (who are also all very talented, but each one has a literal lifetime of hard work behind them).

The romance aspect of the plot was kind of quiet and understated most of the time but that made it feel more real to me. No one’s real life is just romance, there are jobs and friends and other things that take up our time and this couple has those alongside their very strong feelings for each other.

Like several other reviewers have mentioned this is more of a slice-of-life story that happens to feature reborn ghosts than it is your typical rebirth to become the film emperor/music god/get revenge. I really liked it and recommend giving it a try. <<less

Overall, I really liked this novel. The plot was very interesting, and quite unique among other rebirth/showbiz novels, and managed to be thought-provoking and comedic at the same time. I also loved the friendship between the different reborn stars and their agent, as well as the romance between the MC and ML, although I feel like that could have been explored further.

However, I have to say that the personalities of the reborn stars are, in some ways, quite similar... they're all proud, secretly kind of goofy, (except for the... more>> Pei Ran) patient, and love to foster new talent. While I get that only the most passionate stars who've accumulated good virtue get a proper chance at rebirth in this story, I did feel slightly disappointed by the slight lack of character diversity. Of course, the interesting backstories behind the different characters quite made up for this! One further con of this novel is the fact that, although there were a few complex "villains", there are also quite a lot of brainless "villains" who obviously later get face-slapped (because obviously all the main-side-characters are super OP) — it got boring after a while. <<less

I'm a huge sucker for entertainment industry transmigration novels but they usually follow a script with some minor variation. This story, while keeping the foundation of the trope, offered a delightful alternative to the original recipe and sprinkled it with loveable supporting characters.

I think this a pretty good novel to read if you're searching for something light and in the entertainment genre. It's not focus on the romance between the main characters though but more of winning competitions/overtaking the industry. I feel like the yaoi tag should be removed because there was no s*x scenes at all, I wished the author written one, lol.

The characters are a bit too OP though and all things go too well. Timeline is pretty out of whack kind of because of the subplots that's happening.

The idea was brilliant but the whole novel can be more refined especially regarding the side characters. There are too many of them on the spotlight that there are few questions about the story that wasn't answered after all. The author should have cut some of the side characters (I don't know who thou I love every single one of them) or make the story a lot longer because there are lots of details that were missed by the author.

If you like transmigration or rebirth story then you will like... more>> this one for sure. The love scene in my opinion was just enough but can totally be more. The main couple is cute together without being excessive. I just hope that the side characters that were given almost the same screentime as the MC get their love scene as well because I ship some of them together but there were no execution of that.

Other than that, I recommend this novel if you love rebirth full of OP characters (not just the MC and the ML). The story itself is something that you can read in any other rebirth novels but overall it's not a waste of time to read it. <<less

The idea is very good, and in the middle of transmigration themes, it pours a fresh smell. But too bad, the execution was not that smooth sailing.

What made me finshed this story was that this novel doesn have one MC but 7 MCs. 7 characters story line, and that what good about this one.

This novel does not focus much on my main couple and that's what I like about it but it could also be a big turn off for some readers.

The characters are all amazing and have great character development both MC, ML and other side characters.

If you're looking for romance, this isn't the story. It's more like a few scenes of slow burn then established relationship trope.

However, if you're looking for a slice of life story of a movie agent who just happens to be gay and can see ghosts, this story is definitely for you.

Tbh it's too simple... it's just a whole lot of faceslapping from a MC who is super OP (filthy filthy rich and powerful but where is his money coming from??? Haven't read far enough to know I think) and an ML who is super OP (used to be a super famous rock musician). So there's hardly any suspense. ML still works hard for what he gets, but on the basis of his sheer ability everything goes smoothly and a lot of cannon fodder get face-slapped. ALSO, (totally not important but v v important to me) WHO IS THE TOP??? There's no seme protagonist tag, but if Shen Huai is bottom imma RIOT I say, RIOT. He's in every sense the overbearing top!!! That said, at the moment he's not even really the protagonist? I'm a little confused who is MC and who is ML because synopsis suggests Shen is MC but story rn suggests Ye? EDIT: Alright! I don't care! My heart wants it to be Shen on top, and so Shen on top it is!

When I read the synopsis of the story, I had a lot of hopes that this would be a super funny and quite fluffy story. It's still fluffy, but it's just a lot more stuck in unimportant details than I would've liked. So far, comedy element is lacking too, even though I feel like the synopsis is potential comedy gold. The story is basically like every other musician rebirth working their way up story so far, and it seems like it'll stay this way indefinitely. In short, pretty monotonous. <<less

This novel deserve more than 4.2 rating.

It doesn't contain much revenge materials and you can the MC and ML are smooth sailing in the beginning.

But with the novel go deeper, you will started to see their pasts and realize there is more than the novel title.

I've really enjoyed reading this. The characters are interesting and really love their craft. They definitely come off as professionals, and even though most of the talents are OP, it makes sense why they are and it works. The plot can be slow at times, but it fits the mood of the story. Also, the author seems to have shifted from focusing on the music industry to the acting industry, so the ML actually disappears from the story a lot, it's pretty funny. I definitely am enjoying the focus on the characters' careers, I find I don't even mind if the romance quietly disappears lol. Edit: Depending on which artist gets focused on influences which industry gets focused on. So it's not so much the author stops focusing on the music industry so much as there are more artists being managed who work in the film industry instead. <<less
