On the day Zhou Tian took up the ID of “Yuzhou” and joined the YYG team, the entire professional gaming society of League of Legends was whipped into a frenzy. Nobody foresaw that the number one Kindred player on the Korean server, “Yuzhou Mei”, was really a girl, and was even playing as a professional gamer. And so, a few days later, during an interview with the YYG team after the competition, the interviewer asked their ADC, Xie Yi, to evaluate their new teammate.

Xie Yi, after seriously thinking for a while: “She’s a bit fierce.”

Xie Yi, later: “As the name suggests, the new Jungler is the sweetest in the universe.”

Note: Yuzhou = Universe

It's good! However, it suffers from comparisons to You're Beautiful When You Smile for good reason - it's pretty much the same setup (female player gets accepted into LoL pro league), the FL is gutsy and tomboyish, and the ML is a cold, cool tsundere. The upside to this one is that it focuses more on the FL's family life and life outside of LoL, and the downside is the absolute lack of attention paid to the side characters in a team-based game.

Fun fact: this novel isn't lying when it... more>> says FL is the first female pro player in LoL ever in the world, because there is currently not a single one. Crazy, huh? <<less

If YBWYS is LoL e-sports with some romcom sprinkled into it, than this story is leaning more to the romcom with LoL e-sports sprinkled into it. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but for the few who are really big LoL fans like me, it's a little on the lukewarm side, especially since the TL doesn't know much about LoL or its jargon (though I admit I only know American/Europe LoL short hand.) Chinese LoL lingo is obviously different than Western jargon, and it must have been a headache to... more>> try and translate said lingo as well. The Translator did a really good job translating the story faithfully, though (whether it be a difference between western/asian lingo) I felt that the LoL lingo was off.

Although I must admit, for a story centered around LoL e-sports, the author does a great job being vague as hell about game strats and game play. I'd reckon that would be a negative since your entire story revolves around one game.

But, I think the author does well on writing the quirky lives of our MC + ML, though it makes all the other side characters pretty much non-existent, which, again, is odd because League is so viciously a team-based game and it makes no sense for the author to not talk more about each team member. It's too early to say (currently @ the latest update ch.15) if the author will get better at explaining the game or address any other of those issues.

But--assuming the reader decided to read the story differently as a novel that focuses on romance/comedy with some game elements sprinkled into it-- then it is doing its job very, very well. For me though? As that one person who by chance wanted more LoL elements? I am mildly ok with the amount.

I'll reframe from scoring this story, but I really enjoyed reading it so far and recommend others to pick it up. If anything else, I hope that this story will inspire other people to start playing league, as this story isn't super-focued on specific game-play and starts which could have scared away some readers! <<less

Enjoying this series so far. I like that the FL knows what she is doing and is skilled without being OP. She never lets others opinions break her low-key demeanor. The ML is hard to get a read on so far, but what I like best is that he treats her like a gamer, not a girl, and appears to be attracted to her abilities first not her looks. Gives me 'Just One Smile is Very Alluring' vibes with a real-life game instead of the fictional one used in that... more>> story. Nice translation too, very easy to read. <<less

This book feels like the little sister of You're Beautiful When You Smile - a L0L ranked match and/or competition is played every other chapter, and there's romance between the new juggler and her team leader. However, I personally feel that YBWYS had better descriptions of the gameplay, and a more fleshed out romance. The romance went from 10 to 100 really quickly - one minute it felt like they were just starting to like each other, and the next minute they're suddenly together. I didn't even have time to... more>> wrap my head around the fact that they're dating because I could hardly feel their connection outside of the matches.

It was still a fun read though, and much shorter when compared to YBWYS, so it was easy to finish in one sitting. <<less

I stumbled across this the day before yesterday and found the plot quite similar to You're Beautiful When You Smile which I absolutely adore, so I ended up MTL-ing the whole novel in a day. It's a very light-hearted and cute read, the main focus is on gaming but there's some slow romance along the side. The MC is young but wise beyond her years and of good temperament. The ML is a more tsundere and way less shameless version of Lu Sicheng, so much like him yet the complete... more>> opposite. He's calm, collected and just a really sweet character overall and treats the MC with respect and acknowledges her skills and her mentality. The character development of both the MC and ML is also well thought out. I just felt like the ending, especially the last few chapters were a bit rushed, other than that I loved everything about it. <<less

I am a bit confused with the ending - very abrupt. The romance did not start till almost the end of the book so when I tough that finally I'll be able to read some cute interactions between them it just ended! I didn't event get my fluff!
