It's just simply not to my taste, so please understand I'm bias. As much as I love infuriating "protag" characters getting slapped by the MC, the story's a bit too much of a mess. The fiancé prince is sh*t and so confusing you can't tell what he actually wants to do, the baron's daughter is so annoying I can feel my blood pressure rising, and MC herself is just too dumb. She's set to be future queen but her thoughts are so easily seen on her face, she doesn't know... more>> anything that is happening in the kingdom. If she's passive because she doesn't want to be with the prince that's fine but why's she bowing down even the the baron's daughter?

it's early, so honestly the story might get better with great payoff, but the beginning is so annoying I have no will to stick around and find out. <<less

The first 15 or so chapters are quite okay though a bit annoyed by some of the characters.

But as the chapter progress further. The more jumbled up the story has become. I lost my drive to read... totally in this chapter 30.

Truthfully, the only reason I go so far to read this story is because of the translator's note at the end of each chapter... which most of the time funny as hell, with all the truth and logic pointing out the flaws in the story. hehehe.

Sorry translator-san, but I'm... more>> going to drop this story... -bows down- <<less

it's really not obvious that the prince likes the FL through here perspective. I don't really mind stories like this, but something about this novel in particular is annoyinng. The tags say "misunderstanding" and "devoted love interests, " but it's so difficult to tell if the prince actually loves her or not. Even if the prince loves her (and he does, it's obvious since it's a shoujo novel), then isn't this just like that bibliophile princess story? Except the FL is kinda dumb

Spoiler

either way, i'd actually prefer if the FL got with the sword instructor.

[collapse]

anyway, it's annoying how impulsive and whimsical the FL is. She's so wishy-washy and isn't rly consistent with her thoughts. Plus, she acts like everything is new information to her when she's supposed to have 10 years of queen education. You'd think she'd be more mature in handling that homewrecker lmao. <<less

It is not often that I decided to give a review before either finishing or abandoning the story, but here we go...

Let me first say, this is a tough one to review, especially since I rely on the English translation and not the raw. So I'll divide it into 3 parts - the plot, the translation, and the translator.

First, the plot itself is something really unexpected.

The title, as well as the premise shown here, is misleading. I jumped in thinking this is another of those villainess fiance-crown prince-white lotus kind... more>> of stories, but the story took a whole different turn. There are transmigrators, reincarnators, magical beings, and all that jazz. And the MC basically went on an adventure which really fleshed out her character more than I initially hoped for.

It is not amazingly well-written though. Sometimes the author contradicted what they wrote. Like everyone said the MC pretty much wore her emotions on her face, but later on, it is said that as a duke's daughter she has to wear a facade and be expressionless. Like... dude... did you forget what you wrote?

Anyway, I enjoy the story so far and will definitely finish it.

The second is the translation.

I applauded the translator for a very well-translated story. There are small mistakes/typos here and there but overall, it is very nice, very easy to read. The site itself is also easy to navigate.

Now, the third part, the translator. Or more precisely, the Translator's Note...

Please be noted that this is my personal biased opinion and not in any way reflected reality.

Spoiler

This translator might go down as the most annoying translator in my life.

I just don't see the point of long-ass T/N that is nothing but complaining and mocking about the chapter she just translated. And many times, the T/N is even longer than the chapter itself. She quoted and commented on excerpts of it and inserted her judgemental opinion as if she hated the story.

Which really begs the question: Does she even like the story? If not, then why bother translating it??

I'm a firm believer of doing something you like if you have to do it for free. Did she not read the story before picking it up for translation? If so, that is a very risky and poor decision. Her T/N has led me to believe it was her first reading as she sometimes mocked the character's action which was then explained in the very next chapter.

Others may enjoy reading her comments, idk, I just found it hard to ignore when it's pretty much "bullying" the characters. So for a story that usually took me just 1-2 days to finish, it's been nearly a month now. And look! I need to come here and vent before even finishing it. Sigh.

[collapse]

All in all, I'd still recommend this story. It's really not as bad as many other higher-starred stories out there. It offers a fresh new surprising perspective of the cliche recycled plot. Plus, it's a very easy read. <<less

The heroine deteriorates as the story progresses. Seriously, the sympathy you originally have for her character steadily becomes frustration and you can't help but raise your eyebrow and facepalm at her thought processes. She always gets surprised with what's happening and her forever reaction is "i can't understand" or "this is beyond me". She also doesn't understand politics and what it really entails to be queen despite being groomed to be one since like 5 years old. Maybe that's why she's chosen, to be a puppet queen? Just expected to... more>> sit still and look pretty.

The male lead was quite an as*hole at the beginning, back when you still sympathize with the heroine and how their misunderstandings went on for 10 freaking years. But my impression of him actually improved as the story progresses. Especially since nobody else would probably be able to become a good match for the hopeless heroine aside from him.

They truly complement each other.. With all their personality defects and frustrating way of thinking. So yey them for finding a soulmate with one another.

Why you should read it despite the story being quite awful:

- the translations are really good and I applaud the translator/s for seeing it through the end, I appreciate the effort because they probably wanted to drop it whenever they read a new chapter, like c20 up

-the translator's notes are hilarious and so relatable. Seriously, I speed read chapter 30 up just to read the translator's comments and see if my opinion matches. XD

The 2/3 stars of my rating actually goes to the translator and the notes. XD <<less

This novel was terrible, the characters I found were shallow and s*upid and their way that they got to their main goals were convoluted and s*upid. Nothing any of them did made any sense and all it did was hurt the other. The only redeeming thing about the novel was the translators hilarious comments at the bottom.

I was wondering why I am still read this novel... I don't really recommend it. It will only cause you a high blood pressure or feeling want to burn down your phone/laptop. The FL is THAAAAT s*upid. Not to mention the ml. I am grateful that they are not real or else they're dead already. Anyways, not recommend it.

The title doesn't make sense, because it's literally the opposite.

A typical otome/villainess story with the hateful "heroine" bit*h and a dumbass prince that still loves MC... Except imagine at the end of that otome story, you find out it's not really the end and they start to introduce a different story. It quickly became a clusterf*ck with all sorts of things happening and important story changers thrown in all at once.

Meanwhile the MC is still left clueless af while everyone moving around and everything happening all around her.

Pros - It has words.

Cons - Literally everything else. MC is dumber than a rock our ML is every red flag in a relationship and side characters just exist and have names.

What is our MC's most defining trait? She has no clue what's going on at any point in the story.

You still want to read??? Then let me warn you again. This novel is extremely s*upid. The Female lead is s*upid and judges everything based on their looks and she actually does nothing right here. The ML despite being describe as an intelligent perfect prince his actions would actually make you doubt his IQ. Same goes for the other characters. The author would add characters in attempt to spice things up but only ended up making the whole thing a mess. If you still want to read it after all my warnings then I can't stop you.

Honestly I wanted to give it a 0 but NU won't allow me so I gave it a 1. But if I could I would hit 0 as fast as the speed of light. <<less

To read this novel one shall turn off thy one's brain to atleast enjoy this... but in all seriousness I love the translator notes at the very end, it gave me life and motivation to persevere through this novel.

In it's entirety, it really isn't that bad... except of course the plot, the narration, the over all feel and whatnot. I guess you can call this a "I'm curious about this" type of read. Reading it just to satisfy your curiousity, but be warned though, 'cause this rabbit hole is a... more>> very messy, scum ml, political dog bloodish, dramaticly naive FL and an otome or other worldly villainess and heroine eque feel to it.

  1. The female lead, our wonderful protagonist. The star, the muse, our wonderful narrator who doesn't seem like she went to queen training. She is what we call the "we know what you are thinking based on your face" type of gal but she is also at the same time portrayed to hide her emotions. She also jumps too quickly to conclusions, doesn't use resources to at least research or have an intel on the pink haired delusional girl, nor does our MC even care or she really doesnt know about the happenings in the kingdom.
  2. The prince. My gahddddddd, he is annoying. He loves her but is very very s*upid. (Well for me he is very s*upid)
    Spoiler

he didn't smile for ten years just because the MC told him to "not laugh at her" when they were frickin 8 (prince) and 5 (mc) !!!

  3. I like the sword instructer more to be honest
    Spoiler

which was later found out to be the real first prince

*sighs* I also happened to like Rat at the early starts of the novel. He seemed like an ok dude, the type of dude that was a listener type fo friend. I also ghad forbid shipped MC with him...
Spoiler

but at chapter 50-something we get to find out that Rat was Williant (our beloved s*upid prince who doesnt know how to express love)

Although it's a bit soon, I really like the story. She's not rencarnated or transmigrated, and she doesn't seem snobby either. The only part I feel iffy about is how she doesn't understand boys that well. She's dense and easy to read. Overall it seems to be a good story.

I usually give at least 3 stars, after all, someone gave at least one f*ck and was dedicated enough to produce a story. This one did not deserve so much.

So the basic premise is: the duchess (daughter actually) is the fiancee of the crown prince. But they have a distant relationship. And, to make matters worse, a baron's daughter seems to be getting close to him, with the prince caring and having excessive proximity (read it as touchy and hugs skinship) with the said baroness. So the duchess decides to... more>> say "To hell with it, better to get out of their way and be an adventurer".

So far so good, I guess (more so with the adventurer side, for me). This seems like another typical shoujo novel with the lady being tucked by some "the real official MC of the novelTM, so I will go my way and win the world". To be sincere, this would be more of the same but would be fun (if done right).

However... we got this. (I would not put in spoilers, but maybe it is better that way). Do not read this sh*t spoiler section and this novel. After writing it I got ded

Spoiler

So. She goes to the town as a commoner and had a friend, with whom she would talk sh*t about the prince. This plot point is forgotten after chapter 3 or 4 and only comes back in chapter 53, with a somehow obvious resolution, meaning it was the prince all along, who would have guessed, and does not change sh*t overall in the story, literally. The prince seems to try and get close to her, he says something thinking it was related to her, she, however, insists it was not, further driving them apart. He was right and we discover it in the penultimate chapter.

The baroness girl is actually a dumb f*ck innocent isekaied girl with the hyper magic of "charm" that is f*cking sh*t up in the kingdom and killing f*ckers like a gta player. But actually not. She was used by the original MC of the otome game that this world is based upon, that is the real psycho ultimate killer-spree bit*h with the super charm overpower that has driven the neighbor kingdom down to civil war because she was bored and likes to kill, she so bad, yoh.

We know this world is an otome game because one of the friends of MC is another isekaied girl that knew the game (got yah) and goes to where the "charm" baroness was jailed to discover if she was another isekaied. The baroness was imprisoned because she was unmasked by the prince that was on a quest given by the king to weed out the agents of the neighbors' civil war. So he let the not-so-powerful "charm" baroness get close to him to then f*ck her up, but he did not tell the truth to his beloved MC because f*ck you who is reading this and f*ck me more for reading it all. So the prince is pained by the distance between him and the MC and decides to plant some evidence in the baroness to f*ck her up faster and mend up with the duchess. Yes, he did plant the crimes of the real ultra giga psycho in the s*upidest because. You had not read wrong. (in this point the TL got apesh*t mad and started ranting. I try to not talk about the TL jobs in the reviews, but she was so f*cking mad that is hilarious, to the point that the word count of her rants must be double the ones of the chapter you just read. I would give points just for seeing her flame it all, but this sh*t tale does not deserve it)

Both iseakied girls are forgotten and the fact that they were isekaied is not relevant after the talk the two have. You only learn that the s*upid "charm" girl was executed and f*ck her right up, forgotten and tr*shed like nothing. f*cking brutal. This is one of the worse points of the novel, the author just plain forgets sh*t up and f*ck you for caring.

The MC resolves to train in swordsmanship to pursue her dream of being a hot sh*t adventurer. So her papa calls the best ultra swordsman level 9000 to train her. And she seems to start to like him. But, on the day that the prince resolves the baroness shit, the MC sees him getting personal with someone who she doesn't know. This someone is the real psycho b*tch. And she got away by f*cking sh*t up and charming 30+ soldiers to get away from the sword instructor, that was in on her crap. So that is why she got away.

By the way, the sword instructor is actually the original first prince. But after he let the psycho get away he is forgotten by the author and that is it. You will never again read about him other than a (literally one single) line about why the psycho got away.

So out of nowhere a new challenger comes to the MC. A little blue-haired girl is kidnapped with the MC in the palace by sumdudes in black. But the new girl is really a bad grill and she grills hard being the master of a s*ave-trading shop in the other neighbor kingdom, not that one, the other. But she gets 2 changes of heart in like 3 paragraphs and resolves to trust the bit*h she knew yesterday and kidnapped, and say to her "save lois lane, you were right" save mah bro, and shit. So she sacrifices herself to save the MC and a bunch of children she kidnaped while killing dadudes in black.

The MC gets shaken up badly by leaving her kidnapper turn savior to crisp up by herself and a bunch of blackmaskdudes. But this does not take long to be kind of forgotten and be only mentioned in passing. As she gets a new possible romantic interest while working as an adventurer to raise funds to finally return home. And she is beloved and cared about by the whole poor town, such a lucky gal! And she must hunt some dinosaur or sumsh*t but there are 2 of them, but actually 3. But actually, the prince appears and saves all with a flick of the wrist and ultimate ultra power magic cheat 3 layered cake incantation. But actually, the new romantic pair was the king of this country. And he is in the psycho bit*h (remember her, sure the author remembered now). She was the one who f*ck all sh*t up, actually. She was even the one that create the s*avers' peoples and whatnot. And she goes burning spitting and saying I like to kill and cut and burn and f*ck sh*t up. Look how bad she waaaassss!!! She was the ultimate evil. No, you will not get to know why, and f*ck you she was just a bad bit*h psycho crazy.

They return home. MC actually loved the prince. She just got away from him because she was fat as a kid when they started the fianceeing bullcrap and she heard the little kids say she was a cow. And the child prince said he liked her because she was soft. So she got mad and say "Do not laugh at me". So they got stranged from that point on. (this is revealed with the isekai plot, and gets taken by the wind in the next chapter as she was kidnaped, by now you must've gotten wind of the problem of this novel) When they are back everything is perfect and lovey-dovey with the prince being a control freak and possessive f*cker that wants in of her every move, so lovely. But she loves him now and that is it. And he helps her remember her promise to crisp grill girl to save the brother, that one you remembered now. And the prince solves it by finding with MC the neverland ranch of the earl Jackson M. And she adopts the bro. So remember her suffering from crispy death and oh so how important it was? Solved in 2 chapters and the bro is forgotten as everything. And they happy lovey-dovey making braids and see how cute MC is so clumsy Xs Xe Uwu. KILL ME PLEASE

[collapse]

If you had the courage to read it, kudos to you sir chadthundercock, you are a legend. This rambling was painful.

The TL, DR of this spoiler is: the author not only forgets his plots and characters (hell, he even forgets the ML eye color systematically). He adds all and everything possible plot points and characters in the book to the story just to forget them and not resolve crap sh*t about what he added.

The whole story is on the back of a poorly defined character in the MC. She is dull and uninteresting. She has zero redeeming qualities and negative development. She has the ultimate MC power, everyone, except the villain 1 and 2, loves her and helps her. She does not resolve the shitiest misunderstanding that stranged her engagement/fianceing and her own feeling. Hell, she even says at some parts that she knows sh*t all of anything and is going with the flow. So the future queen is the bestest.

The Prince ML gets worse and worse. He devolves from a (perceived) controlled/charmed f*cker to a deceiving bastard that plants evidence to solve his f*cks up (effectively killing someone that was bad, but was mostly another victim and was borderline imbecile), from that to control obsessive sh*t that is sukyute.

And there is no other relevant character as the author forgets them, so f*ck me.

This is crap, stinking in the sun of summer. Read it only if you want to see the TL gets ultra mad and ranting at the end of almost all chapters. With reason to do so. (You should've ended the translation of this sh*t shown. I kind of wanted to suffer a bit more just from pure masochist tendencies that I have to see at which point this fountain of crap would get. What a shame.) Do not read it. <<less

The author completely and utterly fails to make the setting consistent with the characters in any way whatsoever.

I've read several similar stories, but unlike this one, those made sense.

I haven't read far, and the number of contradictions are already too numerous to bother listing for a novel this poor.

There was potential in the idea, but it's executed terribly.

Just in case all of the other reviews are not enough:

Do not waste your time. I did not read the reviews before starting and I really regret it.

The story line only develops to become worse. Nothing makes logical sense, little is explained and there is not a single likable character.

In short: invest your precious time in something worth reading. NOT this.

Don´t read it, really. (It has a star because I don´t know how to put starless)

I deeply regret not reading the reviews of this novel before reading the novel itself. Like, I honestly am asking myself how I got to read it it so far (26chapters!).

Honestly speaking, it feels like a mess (the characters, the plot, the rythm) and just infuriates people out of it. The most entertaining moments are the T/Ns where the translator unravels piece by piece how much of a mess the story´s logic is.

If you... more>> still wanna give it a try... well, maybe you should reconsider your taste in literature. <<less

If you're expecting another gem in the "Duke's Daughter" genre... look somewhere else. Seriously, avoid this like it's the plague. Trust me when I say that you don't want to read this one.

Starters... the protagonist isn't reincarnated. I know, I know, the Duke's Daughter doesn't have to be reincarnated for it to be a good story. Heck, "The Magnificent Battle Records of A Former Noble Lady" was a good novel in my opinion, possibly one of the best completed ones so far where the Protagonist wasn't reincarnated. As for those... more>> who are reincarnated in this one...
Spoiler

It's only one of her friends

[collapse]
. Seriously, those are the only actual reincarnated individuals and two of them are barely important. And why do the idiots who take the "Heroine" from the actual game heroine so s*upid anyway?

Next, the layout of the story. Now that's a mess if I've ever seen one. The author was easily a beginner and this was possibly their first story. It's all over the place after a while, the protagonist is s*upid at quite a few points, and this novel was so bad that the translator was bashing it in their notes at the end of every chapter. I think the only reason the TL kept at it was due to feeling responsible for starting the translation in the first place. Otherwise I don't see why they'd continue it. I think the only blessings were the lack of any kind of harem and no OP MC in general. <<less
