Finished in one day and now I feel empty. Honestly this is my first review, sorry if my grammar is not okay.

At first it was boring but at some point I couldn't take my eyes off of it, I really really enjoyed it.I liked the MC and ML's relationship slow development and their interaction, I also cried for the angst. If you're bored and want something to read I recommend this.

Alright, I seriously don't understand why this story scored so high. In all honestly I wanted to give it a 1-star to pull the ratings down, but I couldn't make it past CH10 so in order to compensate I'll be more generous with ratings. Seriously, I've read a lot of tr*sh in my time, and generally speaking I can put up with it. However, this story just makes me want to cringe so badly. I really really wanted to "give it a fair chance" before dropping it, but based on... more>> reviews it seems to stay this tr*sh quality for a long time before it gets even worse??? So I'm not gonna put myself through it.

First of all, it's mary sue as HECK. MC's body isn't pretty, but suddenly everyone finds her stunning and beautiful?? This is not something that can happen from just a bit of makeup and a change of clothing okay, especially for a celebrity. Literally one day she stopped wearing makeup and now no one can take their eyes off of her.

Also, it just so happens OG body was a celebrity. Many similar stories also have the OG as a celebrity in order to have a ~realistic~ strong skillset, but in this story it's not used for anything but to be a golden finger. No background setup at all except "oh this body is a celebrity fortunately I was a star in the past too".

It's also ridiculous that the president of a HUGE company can be so hidden. How does he get contracts signed if he doesn't even show this bit of sincerity?? Also, did he build up the company from scratch? Did he inherit it? How is it possible for it to become a giant and no one found out it was him??? Especially because he actually physically goes to work in the company, rather than just remote access all the time. Also, this is such a HUGE inconvenience to a businessman that almost no reason would warrant this type of insane behavior. Even if the scale of the company is large, his money is exaggerated so much. It really doesn't make sense.

Furthermore, if he's so competent and important, how does he have so much time to hang around out MC?????

The thing with the ghosts as well, they basically show up whenever it's convenient for plot. It's really absurd. How can they all look so gore-y as well???

Also, this relationship. ML should be totally indifferent, and honestly disliking this wife of his that insists on putting a green hat on his head and causing all sorts of trouble, plus his personality is set to be super OCD and germaphobic and particular. Yet from the day she transmigrates, he's so tolerant and pampering??? Calls him to some supermarket in a workday and he goes????

All in all, a garbage story with no sense of realism that is mary sue and has a golden finger high enough to reach the heavens. <<less

One of best interesting novel with decent characters and good sweet romance develop.

This is my favorite novel now, ML is so cute, decent and dreamy. He is my favorite male lead. I also like MC. I like how ML support her and secretly help her. It's funny how MC think of raising ML and earning money by acting despite not knew that ML is hidden billionaire CEO who secretly help MC lots when trouble cause by jealousy fake white lotus FP and scum MP.

He eating vinegar is so adorable, he... more>> get jealousy when her fans call MC as their wife, and when fans ship MC with other actor. Their relationship progressive is so sweet and heartwarming. Ghosts are also interesting characters, MC help ghosts to solved their regret thing, let them reunite with their beloved. MC get lot of luck after helping ghosts. Plot are interesting and attractive. This is definitely gem novel, recommend it. <<less

This novel has some of the issues I dislike most about this genre, only it takes them to the extreme.

This plot is 50% the romance or ghosts, and 50% frustration.

So much of social media's unexplained obsession with every little thing that happens, pages upon pages I just started skipping cause they're pointless (they start thinking badly about MC, but then they discover that it was all wrong). Oh woe is me.

The obsession with looks, so many paragraphs discussing how refined and gorgeous she looks compared to everyone else, heaven forbid... more>> she had any work done on her face! All natural! It just becomes too much at some point. It does not stop like in some other novels.

After a while I just started skipping sections of the story, because nothing at all happened other than her proving herself to be more beautiful than others and all the social media followers loving her for it. Because who cares about anything other than her looks, right??

Basically every time the chapter revolved around her work I prepared myself for a lot of skipping because nothing other than those 2 things happened. On the other hand the relationship with the ML is sweet and takes time to develop. They don't push each to go further or faster than the other is ready for.

The only reason I'm giving this a 3 star is because I actually like the ML, and I like their interactions, so I bothered finishing the story. I wish there was more of that or her actual career. Anything other than what there is. <<less

This. Is. Super. Funny.

If You Qian (author of My Disciple Died Yet Again) amused readers with retorts and emojis, this author amused me with character's actions and thoughts, especially the ML. He might be airheaded in some aspects, but he is clearly a wolf in a rabbit's clothing (actual description by author) when he understood the game. MC was lovely. She might want to use ML as her mobile yang charger, but she's also sincere in trying to have good relationship with ML.

Whenever there was a scene of MC coming... more>> back late at night, I always imagine MC jumping into ML's embrace immediately, but in truth MC was too embarrassed to take advantage of ML without his permission and ML himself was not a person who would show off affection in public.

The ML pretty much have 0 knowledge on what is called romantic feelings, but his gentlemanly and mild character (despite the stubborness in certain things) really earned his points with MC. And MC slowly worming into ML's life was your typical clumsy cheerful protagonist style, but if you added her ability to see ghost, she was just a weird girl who would use excuses to get close to her crush in other people's eyes.

TLDR: This novel is short. You can find comedy, romance, and fluff. Please don't forget your insulin. ML and MC's interactions have quite a high amount of sugary content. <<less

Not even sure what I should rate this, I’m incredibly torn. On one hand I really enjoyed the slow-going romance and paranormal ‘investigations’. But on the other hand, there were some seriously teeth-grinding moments in this book.

To start, the parts that bothered me had to do with the Chinese culture itself, specifically when it comes to celebrities and their personal life. The netizens are toxic wastes of space that degrade someone for falling in love, dating and/or marrying. This type of commentary is what I had to continuously read toward... more>> the end of this book. It was so painful it made me want to almost retract all the positive things I liked about this book. There is some serious cognitive disconnect happening for me because I find all the toxicity absolutely pointless and something that doesn’t really occur in the West. Sure fans will be sad when they find out their fav celebrity is getting married, but in the West (North America, Europe etc.) this sh*t doesn’t matter and people usually feel happy for the celebrity. However the exact opposite occurs in China, for some reason netizens think they are entitled to an explanation as to why their fav celebrity didn’t reveal their marriage. And if they don’t reveal their personal love lives, then they are lying to the fans... like F-off. Okay, rant over. I will just say that the ending is painful and draggy to read. Sure there are some sweet moments at the end, but nonetheless painful to get there.

Another point to throw out there is that the character resolutions for a lot of the side characters (including the original protagonists) isn’t fleshed out or entirely missing. The ending was abrupt. If the author was not going to fill things out in the first place, then they might as well have just deleted the last 40 (unnecessary) chapters.

I’ll end with saying, this is by no means a bad book, it’s just not as good as it could have been. Sometimes less online netizen commentary is better. <<less

I'll tell you now, this kind of novel isn't good for those who consider themselves consumers to the high class and well made books that deal with hard world building amazing authors spend a lot of their time on.

This is a CN (might I emphasise CHINESE novel) that deals with transmigration.

Obviously, it's not meant to be taken seriously. This is a superficial, feel good, wholesome, novel. It's what you read when your braincells aren't coming together or if you're in a dump just wanting read romance and can ignore the... more>> "unrealistic" -ness of it all.

Take in mind the fact that China is generally just a very toxic internet environment, some of the bashing is actually real. People who don't understand that have the privilege of not being an "influencer" (I use this term very loosely) or part of the entertainment industry where jerks can hate on you because they can behind the anonymity the internet can give.

That said, there are some issues with the characters themselves.

The MC and ML both act like love sick high schoolers who also just found out what having hormones in puberty is like. The scenes are wholesome and almost sickening, the romance is slow burn, and for the love of god. You're. Not. 15. Years. Old.

Oh, and also the fact that the MC gets everything on a silver platter. But again, that's the only reason I'm reading this. I don't have to think about the outcomes because obviously, the MC always has the upper hand. This is a straightforward plot with schemes that are literally just Regina George kind of mean. Not the "I'm-going-to-ruin-your-life-because-you-ruined-mine-after-I-ruined-yours-first" kind of schemes.

And really, those are the only problem I have.

The "seeing ghosts" thing is funny (and yes, folks, sometimes you don't need a why to every statement - it just is) and the fact that no one knew he was a CEO is kinda bs but whatever. I can ignore that because again, this is a read for the dumbos who's braincells have turned into mush.

The people who've read the novel complain that the seeing ghosts is unrealistic because there's no explanation and that everything media related is just not how its done in the Western countries but come on, when will you grow up and realize that novels like this just aren't for "realistic" people like you?

I mean, you understand how sh*tty K-Pop fans can be right? Or even the hate Taylor Swift gets for dating boys when Chris Evans doesn't get flak for the around 7 confirmed girlfriends he's had and plenty other unconfirmed ones? No hate but the sexism and unnecessary bashing is really pissing me off. <<less

Just when I thought that there are not good stories left to read, I found this gem of a story.

+ Good plot

+ No rushing of the story

+ Not usual boring instances

+ Good MC and ML

+ Light horror, comedy Romance

+ A different take on horror romance.

- Minus would be that it is short

- Some things aren't touched too deep

Regardless a precious read!

The story itself was nice.. pretty mellow. But I think it had a lot more potential.

1. The transmigration in the book thing seems unnecessary. I feel like the author only included that to explain her sudden ability to see ghosts and to explain her sudden change in personality and why she doesn't want to divorce her husband anymore. I think this could have also been explained in another manner and the transmigration seems sorta forced cause it doesn't really fit in with the whole plot and like there's not even... more>> a reason given as to how she died in her previous life or why she suddenly transmigrated.

2. The ghost thing seems to explored quite a bit but I think it had more potential.

3. Considering the fact that she is a professional actress, the acting part could have been shelled out a lot more. Like during the entire duration of the book she does a couple of reality TV shows, a few movies, maybe a show and that's it. Now considering the duration is around 2 years or so that's not really bad... But the her acting and showbiz wasnt really explored like it could have been. Like a lot more focus was put on Weibo and public opinion and what not rather than movies and TV shows she acted in. And shes been both famous and infamous in a very short span of time but I have a hard time digesting that.

I don't know how things work in China but in my country there are atleast 20 movies releasing in a year and there are so many new actors and actresses emerging every year.. people just don't focus on a single actor/actress like this. Especially their personal life.

3. There were mentions of new stars emerging but a very tiny amount of actors/actresses were actually mentioned int the book.

4. The entire books revolves around the two main characters but the other characters seemed to be just phased out like they just weren't important enough. The main characters don't even seem to have any friends. The ML has a doctor friend but his character was only there to act as their doctor when either of them gets injured. Like he doesn't even get a proper introduction like "this is my wife and this is my friend" no hi, hello, nothing....

The story was okay. Happy ending, not too angsty either. But it had a lot of holes and it could have been so much better and it seems like wasted potential to me. <<less

It was funny, until it wasn't.

The romance was awkwardly endearing, until it was awkwardly frustrating.

The characters' low EQ was endearing, until it was maddening.

The plot was cute, until it was boring.

In other words; it was fine until the author dragged it out for too long. When it got to the part where they would finally confess and I looked at the spoilers and saw what was coming, I just didn't have the strength to continue.

It also frustrates me how childishly the MCs act. No joke, they behave like the 13 year old protagonists of a shoujo manga going through their first crush. There's nothing wrong with a 13 year old acting like that, but when it comes to two grown adults? There. Are. Limits.

Also, it bothers me that the title is misleading. The FORMER (?!) wife? The "former" wife was the departed soul and former owner of the body the FL is currently using. Do we follow her story? No. Do the leads get divorced? No. So WHY is it titled "FORMER" wife. It is maddening. <<less

This story for me is a flat line graph with no lows or highs. Even with the elements of romance, ghosts, reincarnation, villainous world protagonists and showbiz, the story is still a prettier plain Jane.

First the ghosts, this is the most disturbing, unused and severely unexplored element of the story. The MC can see ghosts for a reason yet she doesn't try to figure it out. This occurrence, if not for the male lead, scares her to the point of almost bringing her life to a glaring halt, yet this... more>> is only used as a plot device to make her hang on to the ml. The MC makes no attempt to find a religious priest to help her out or explain the situation.

These ghosts are described in such a grim fashion that the next sentence falls short because every single time, it turns out they are practically harmless! It could also be deduced that as long as the MC pretends not to see them, they will most likely lose interest and ignore her. But what does the MC do? She gets scared stiff and looks straight at them, it's like a signpost telling the ghosts that she can see them!

Worse, there is no stable limitations on the ghosts to give the readers time to acknowledge other parts of the plot. In every chapter with the MC there is a useless passerby ghost with their emotionless backstory dumped on the poor readers! The idea on their weaknesses and how they become ghosts is shaky!

The ghost element is very unexplored and unsatisfactorily written. It fails to make the story a proper intriguing supernatural affair or a fluffy, cute side attraction. Each ghost is introduced like a demon but has the impact of a feather. After seeing these things a few times, the MC's shaky legs makes no sense!

The romance, honestly with the ghost thing, the MC starts jumping around the male lead which would be cute if her reactions did not make me think of a schizophrenic. The scenes when acted out have the crazy person vibe not the pink romance vibe. Oh, other than fear, it was hard to pick out other emotional reactions from the MC.

As for the rebirth, it was only there to make the MC realize her opponents were the cunning protagonists and to give her a personality change. No advantages there, she didn't know hidden events or facts a reborn person with world background info should know.

The antagonists and showbiz were tied up together. While the showbiz part was not expanded on because a "scary" ghost pops into the scene every time, so the feel of the MC shooting films or so were cut short for not-so-grim supernatural encounters. And the antagonists are basically out to ruin her reputation.

The best part was the male lead's character. He was not the usually showy, top-of-the-world overpossessive male lead. He had all the necessary traits (rich and handsome with issues) but he lived an average life (and not because of some undercover or plot armor reason). Plus, even with the MC doing crazy stunts, he was quite accepting. I wish this book went the extra mile with everything else like it did with the ghosts. <<less

The writing style of author is bad. It does not engage you to read more. I have to force myself to read it but I still couldn't complete it book. I kept forcing myself because I liked the story line but there is a limit to self torture so I gave up at ch93. The story is unnecessarily slow paced just to show readers more interactions between the lead couple and the ghost. Strangely the only ghost problems that our MC keeps solving are related to family of rich people... more>> in the movie industry so as to thank her in return they directly or indirectly give her more resources. LAME.. Both MC and ML are 2 diamentional characters. Author does not use proper transition between two scenes hence it leaves reader in confusion because suddenly in next sentence we are in different place and context.

Poor writing style. Even though the story line was so interesting but it failed in proper execution. Will not recommend to anyone. <<less

  1. I think the summary is a bit misleading, as the dialogue about divorce is not too intense. The MC just ask the ML to hold on their divorce and nothing else.
The story is not too many drama and as for someone that want to read a quick and sweet story, I recommend this, as it have about 145 chapter only. Go mtl if you wanna read it faster.

50% of the story focuses around the romance between MC and ML; 20% is about MC at work; 20% discusses the controversies of MC online; 10% is MC helping ghosts with their final wishes before death.

MC is a very bright and optimistic girl. Her goal is to raise enough money to support her and ML (little does she know her husband is a rich CEO). She doesn't take into heart the cursing and slanders about her on the internet, which was very new for me as most showbiz novels are... more>> all about the FL scheming in the shadows to either wash her reputation clean or bring down someone else's. Our MC doesn't bother with scheming and mainly focuses on earning money and staying near ML to avoid ghosts.

ML is the most wholesome being I've ever read. He first seems cold and aloof but inside is very gentle and patient with MC. He doesn't immediately fall in love with her, but when he gradually realizes his feelings for her, he becomes really shy and self-aware. Why I love ML so much is because he's so different from the other ML I've read so far (unlike the original ML before MC transmigrated). I ask you how many webnovels have you read had a ML that's a cold overbearing rich CEO? They're always so flat because of their excessive possessiveness for the FL, not to mention the classic mysophobia towards every women on earth but the FL. The ML in this novel is just so refreshing for me. He broke away from this stereotype by possessing more character depth and emotions. Aside from his cold expressions, we got to see him laugh, embarrassed, nervous, angry and more. We were able to take a look and understand his inner thoughts. Plus, he isn't unreasonable and doesn't act like a man-child whenever something doesn't go his way. Honestly, ML's character by itself is enough for me to rate 5 stars.

The one problem I have with this novel doesn't even have anything to do with the novel. The translations are not the best. It's decent enough for me to understand and enjoy the story, but occasionally, the translations wouldn't make sense and I would get distracted by its grammar. This won't be enough to lower my rating but I just wanted to complain about it. <<less

FL:hi there is ghost it speak to me and wants to say something to u

My advice is read up until around 120 or less if you find the story gets repetitive and predictable. Then skip to the chapter where the relationship is revealed then skip the very last 2 chaps. Because the rest is just filler imo <<less

While reading it, this is just my imagination. The female protagonist must able to look good in both modern dressing as well as ancient dressing (Able to act in a show within a show and of course beautiful.). The male lead should be chosen more prince look as well as seem like muscular and slighly army type in which look good in both modern and ancient dressing. Lastly, the horror part should be impactful if this becames a drama.

I always avoid transmigration stories but when I read the synopsis of this Cnovel, I was intrigued by it and decided to give it a try. So far, it only has a few chapters since it just got recently picked up but it is really interesting. MC has a very interesting personality while the ML is kinda mysterious. In addition, the translator also did a good job in translating this. My only wished is for this not to get dropped all of a sudden.

The reincarnation has no impact on the story, I legit forgot it even happened. The transmigration hardly matter either, except for a dynasty several hundred years ago being different. The love is dull. The story practically only progresses off screen. Things are hyped up for several pages, sometimes chapters, only for it to be resolved in one line and then never mentioned again. It's so jarring I often thought I accidentally skipped a chapter.

Really annoys me when something is giving you JUST enough to stay, only to disappoint you like... more>> this. The only thing that was fleshed out was the stories about ghosts, even then it wasn't done well. I don't like stories about ghosts very much to begin with so it was nearly unbearable. Especially since FMCs reaction to them NEVER change even though there's not a single bad ghost in the entire story.

Quite possibly the worst story about the entertainment industry I've read, it just got worse and worse the longer it kept going.

Spoiler

FMC also inherits billions of dollars, but it's hardly mentioned again even though it could've been a perfect slap in the face for anyone claiming she's a gold digger. Why is it not mentioned? Because the MC has TENS of billions and that's soooo much more she's not even worth mention...

I'll admit, this novel wasn't too bad.

Although there are certain small plots that I've seen in other novels with a similar genre, this story was actually pretty good.

The only complaint that I have with this story is that there isn't enough... substance to the resolution of conflicts to make me feel satisfied, if you get what I mean. Like, you've been given the conflict and all it's details, then you're immediately handed the solution without much of an explanation.

If what I mean is still unclear, imagine you're at a restaurant,... more>> right? Then you're given two slices of bread stacked on a plate and told that it's a sandwich. There's obviously nothing in the middle. And even if you eat it, it's clear to see that you're just eating bread despite paying for a sandwich. What I enjoy most while reading stories is being immersed in these characters' lives and the strange and chaotic situations they live in. This story is good at giving what I want, then immediately taking it away.

I'm not asking for a heart to heart with every character the MC meets, but letting MC struggle and feel and overcome is what keeps me interested as a reader. The plot uses the bare minimum requirement to resolve a conflict and that doesn't make a story good (imho).

So 4/5 stars. It's a good pastime read, at the very least. Still enjoyable by a casual reader's standard. <<less

Such a good read. The pace and development of the story and characters are well done. The relationship between MC and male lead build up over time, like a normal relationship would.

The romance in the story felt a bit juvenile and very weakly written. Although, the supernatural events were more appealing, it kind of got tiring to read about how much the FL was scared of all ghosts for the umpteenth time and ran for the ML's protection. Other than some pranks and ugly talk from the ghosts, you'd think that the the FL would simply get used to seeing the ghosts. I'm actually surprised neither her or the ML even tried to figure out how to truly exorcise the ghosts... more>> all around them.

Other than the FL's fear of ghosts, the romance for the most part was a bit on the stagnate side. The FL seems to be perfect in everything other than her fear of ghosts. While the ML is some hidden uber rich CEO that even his family doesn't know how rich he is. Is it really that easy to be a super billionaire before he hits his 30s from scratch? To such a degree that even his family doesn't know about it? Not to mention, he's only portrayed as a talent agency, production company and etc. Maybe if it's tech company and etc, I could understand. But meh.

I liked the interactions of the leads in the beginning when the FL is trying every which way to get near and touch the ML because of her fear o the ghosts. But too many repetitive scenes got a bit tiresome and old fast.

Also the amount spent on rehashing the way C-ent works with all the star competitiveness, fandoms, black fans, paparazzi, and etc, also got tedious.

Simply put, it's worth a read if you have time to spare. But beware it feels like it drags at times in repetition. <<less
