2-3 Stars at best.

A more appropriate title would probably be combat log of a dungeon predator.

Characters, and I use that word very lightly, are ignored in favour of fight scene, after fight scene in which the MC uses the same three or four skills. Entire chapters are dedicated to this, which is made all the worse when character interactions or moments to do so are skipped over in order to get back to fight scenes.

At the point I’m at one of the earlier plot threads seems to be getting picked... more>> back up, but I kinda really don’t care. Why? Because author just ripped out and blew past an out of game event that might have required the MC to interact with other humans and be somewhat interesting to read in favour of fight scene 84 (featuring everything you’ve seen in the previous 83). This is shonen anime filler episode amounts of fight scenes and it feels like it. I’ve skipped entire chapters and lost nothing. <<less

A card board figure trying to pass as a MC? And it is waving right and left its big Deus Ex Machina called Hyper Intuition ignoring levels and everything else like they are just empty labels? Look! It is repeating nonsense statements as if they were logical arguments!

Ok nothing new there for all of us web novel readers. But why do I feel like I just wasted 8 long chapters of my life trying hard to find a non existent story and looking like a fool?

3 stars for the author... more>> and the translators effort is always deserving (that effort is always positive even if the results are not appreciated) but I really can't give more. <<less

There's nothing too unique about it so far. He's following in Weed's footsteps by learning swordsmanship before starting his VR journey so that's also not that original. The rest is pretty bland since it's just him gaming with his 'ESP superpower.

Okay, I'm not seeing this going anywhere.

By reading the review here. I'm trying to read the beginning chapter.

And so many loopholes for the world builder that makes the novel kinda mess up.

About the beginning story :

Spoiler

MC hit by truck, coma for 2 years, wake up skin and bone, house got sold,

and debt accumulate by 50 million won by bank.

What is the guarantee? I don't know if it will be explained later.

The next act of MC is:

walking (okay it's normal after coma), go to dojo (?seriously, with skin and bone?)

The dojo need 200.000 won a month and the MC spent half a year that means 6 months by the logic I don't need spent extra anymore for the hospital fee.

And after 6 months he become extra strong to join the game.

It feels like the debt doesn't really emergency to make him panic and hurry up to amass money.

[collapse]

About the inside game :

Spoiler

There is a saying that this game was made by God.

But chapter 5 prove that the God must be cheapskate to create an NPC that can reach max affinity by only talking.

And the 1 vs 100, it said to be easier on low level?

Even the concept is absurd, blind battle vs 100 people that got stronger with no skill or item and low stat of 10.

It is like, oh our MC need a power up, let's just create a specific quest just for him to give him a cheat. Lol.

[collapse]

Many review said that it resemble LMS, but I have a feeling that it is more like many VRMMO korean novel got jumbled up into one.

It feels like a jumbled up of

LMS (top player, learn swordmanship in real life, got legendary from beginning)

BJ Archmage (got hit by truck-sama and not thrown to the past, got a cheating ESP, money problem)

Ranker's Return (got in the games because of debt, ex-top player, top equipment from the beginning).

The difference is the three novel I mentioned above have a MC that desperate for money. But this novel MC still have a heart to spend 1.2 million won (we did not know from where this money come from), when still having 30 million won debt. <<less

I am huge fan of Korean novels in general and Virtual reality, so when I saw this novel I thought that it was a godsend. I was wrong. The main character is over powered a-hole that abuses NPCs. I dropped at chapter 86, I waited so long thinking it would be like Overgeared that it took something to get good, but no. 86 chapters and there is no plot development, no backstory, nothing. Just going from dungeon to dungeon clearing it without much difficulty. Is like reading the dream diary... more>> of a gamer. What else can I say? If you want to, read it for yourself, but just don't stay thinking it will get better. <<less

A very typical korean gaming novel. MC gets a Late start but an op ability easily makes up for it. Its exactly what you would expect and nothing else. It doesnt really get you hooked so you cant stop reading but its not so bad that you just want to drop it all the time. If you value your time this probably isnt the place to spent it but if you are bored and have nothing to do its a decent read

The only thing worth mentioning is NO HAREM... more>> which is always nice imo (romance isnt that great though). <<less

ok, first of all idk why so many people are criticizing about this novel. I know some things are not good but if you follow his journey then u can enjoy the story but the thing is some things are pretty much messed up. Like what happened to his financial situation of his family and I really wanted to how his family became rich and all that stuff. The main point of my review the ending is so rushed like seriously the mc's mentor dies like what and oopsie oopsie... more>> the story ends. I mean I think author wanted to continue the story to 700-800 chapter. But due to some internet and external pressure. I think the chapter has some minor and slightly major issues. If author can re-release this and fixing those issues and extend the chapters and als0 show us some guild wars between the empire and all. The novel will become like a masterpiece and not kidding. The novel I have just read was like some draft. I mean how he defeated the antagonist it was just so dull. The antagonist was shown op and all and he just defeated so easily and the game system to completely jail a person forever and mean forever I don't get this really. I mean how is this game company never get sued for this policy <<less

well, people keep saying it's a rip-off of weed but this guy is more of an as*hole and the story is okay but the only thing that frustrates me it's that he should give more emotion than his mind to show off his as*hole so that he would be different with Weed. or show some bipolar depression or unstable sometimes throughout the story would be a nice touch,.. then the story would be much better... hm quite sad...

Everyone that dislikes this novel should just keep reading until chapter 100. The novel is alright, although I agree the start is very dollar tree lms the game in the story is good

There are no bullsh*t numbers and the author isn't in a rush, so it beats any of mad snail's work in my eyes.

The game format might not have perfect balance, but there is a trend the story is following. It's like DnD. You need time for the campaign to gain momentum. The charter is building relationship at a... more>> steady pace. His connection are genuine and fun to read and the action vs loot drop is balanced.

There is thought put into this work, so the least you can do is give it a try <<less

first impression: this is another unlikable MC in a mediocre story. He's even unpleasant to his family members, though he is decent at sucking up to people in power as long as there's something in it for him. There's not much world-building so far, in-game or out of it and no established personality for the MC other than that unpleasant trait. Also, I don't think this author has ever played an RPG of any kind

Spoiler

most of the RPG type games I've played IRL give you penalties and reduce your reputation/ affinity/affection with NPCs in the same town or faction when you treat one of them like crap, (or try to steal from or kill them) which can have serious negative effects on stuff like gaining quests or buying items. I wish just one of these Korean VR LMS clones would have something similar.

[collapse]

the story so far is a little boring, my eyes keep skipping over paragraphs and then I have to force them back. It's not horrible, but it's not good, either. It's still early so it's possible things could turn around. Gonna let this get to 100c before I revisit. <<less

Don't understand the hate this novel is getting. Yeah, it's not amazing, and there are quite a few flaws, but it's engaging at least. I would say it probably deserves to be around 3.8 stars - which to me is kind of average, not really a must read at all, but some people will really enjoy it, and others will enjoy it enough to give it a shot. It's not a terrible novel

Too early to judge yet. The MC havent interact with other players yet, We do not know their population's average level and the real world havent been explored much yet so its still to early to judge the novel.

Although the MC's ability is a little bit OP. Its not as worst as the other reviewers said. There are much OP MC out there particularly most isekai JP novels here

The chapters are locked behind a paywall, you get some free karma (e-currency on the translator's site) that you use automatically without knowing and then you get locked out and is unable to continue reading unless you buy more karma.

The novel in general is fast paced and the author is simping out his MC like there's no tomorrow, completely removing any suspence and crisis while the MC gets all the rarest items, stats, abilities etc.

It was somewhat entertaining to read, but not enough for it to actually be worth paying... more>> for.

Spoiler

the main character got hit by a car and got a superpower thanks to that, it works both in real life as well as in the game.

He can:

-avoid any attack since he can sense where he is about to get hit.

-always get critical hits when it is possible since he can sense weak points in enemies and objects at a glance.

-he can tell when youre lying thanks to his senses.

-he can know in advance what youre gonna pick in rock-paper-scizzor.

-He can sense hidden areas, monsters and other things that no one has ever found before.

-he can immediately tell if there is a secret function in an item that many other consider junk items.

His gift is called "Hyper Intuition" and he is always right no matter what, that, along with a growing SS rank sword that he got at level 1 makes him invincible no matter what. Trust me, you will get bored more than you will be entertained in this novel.

[collapse]

I quit due to the paywall, I cant even commen on the chapters for free. And thats not worth paying for imo, good luck if youre gonna give it a shot. <<less

As of right now, I'm enjoying it. However, I gave it such a low rating because it feels rushed. The first 10 chapters were a nonstop rush of establishing that he was hit by a truck, that he had extrasensory perception (ESP) for whatever reason, and that he got into a game only to somehow stumble across a class that had siphoning powers (taking powers[or stats in this case] from the enemies that he defeats). Now, let me make this clear. I love that. I love protagonists that are extremely... more>> and unreasonably overpowered. But it feels like there's no purpose to that. I will continue to read and update as I go along but as of right now, I'm not impressed.

The cheats are cool, but very unnecessary if he has ESP. Especially ESP that works within a video game (because logic.)
And as I write this, something just came to mind. If you were to compare this to Overgeared, Overgeared takes the cake by far (it would even if this were complete.) because in the initial chapters of Overgeared, the author establishes who the character is, in terms of identity and personality, as well as setting up the cheat that he has and the setting. However, Dungeon Predator, doesn't even really set up who the person is in terms of personality. You can't really tell whether or not he's particularly greedy. I mean, yes, a few statements here are there can suggest that he may be greedy but not the same way that Overgeared delivers.

TL:DR - Give it time. Its not worth a read just yet. <<less

I read this just for the sake of reading it. And I must say, this is the worst I have ever read. From the start to finish, the protagonist is overpowered, targeted by many, is an a**hole, but still has an idol as a girlfriend. They made such a big deal out of the debt at the start of the series then by just playing he gets to earn hundreds of millions. I mean just what the f*ck is this. There are many strong NPCs in the story so the... more>> gods can ask them to protect the continent then why the f*ck does the protagonist has to do them even though he is weaker than them and doesn't want to do it.

My advice to everyone wanting to read that novel, get something else to read! <<less

Just finishing it is already good enough. This has been a good one. Definitely, not the best as some things aren’t explained well but it’s the journey that counts for it.
