Qi Le – gender: male, s*xual interest: women – suffered from cong**ital heart disease and died early. However, God played a small trick on him and placed his soul inside the body of a tr*shy shou.

From then on, the gates of a new world were opened.

When Qi Le opened his eyes, he found himself still lying in the hospital, but there was a small problem.

Everyone helped clear up his confusion: “You’re gay.”

Qi Le: “……”

Everyone: “You’re a 0, which means you’re the one on the bottom.”

Qi Le: “Bullshit! Laozi is a straight man!”

Everyone stepped forward to pat him on the shoulder: “Forget it, all the men in the world can turn straight, but not you.”

Qi Le shook with anger: “We’ll see about that!”

Everyone reminded him: “Everyone knows about your confession, everyone knows that you’re gay. Which girl would be willing to date you ah?”

Qi Le: “=口=”

Use of alcohol and stimulants to get s*x isn't funny.

I bet this is the part that will trigger many. It left me a bit shocked. I'm no sweet white flower and have seen and heard way more repulsive things in my life, but my bottom line was crossed:

  • The part of the first s*x between Qi Le and Gu Bai was handled horribly. It could be much better with a scenario where Gu Bai confesses that his eagerness comes from fear of losing the person he loves again, but it comes only AFTER Gu Bai made Qi Le drunk, while the other person was clueless and secondly used aphrodisiac-induced lubricant for a stimuli;
  • What is the constant mention of r*pe and forcing?
  • What is making light of psychological conditions?
This novel became a bunch... more>> of nonsense. While it started on a messy but fun part, later the illogical behavior of everyone kept on repeat and it started being annoying, like any character lacks common sense all-together. Like "he decided to commit su*cide" let's gossip, "he has multiple personality disorder" let's all believe it without diagnosis and claim it as true and treat the person accordingly. Every other person acts as if they're mental, not to mention they sound like copypastes of each other. Side-characters are easily forgotten, I'm puzzled why there are so many side-couples like who gives a flying potato about them, especially when they interrupt the main plotline. I started to skip these parts. The most reasonable is MC, he's like a pillar in this pool of madness, but this pillar can't save this novel. It's a moment when you feel bad for a nice MC to happen in a bad novel. <<less

f*ck, I need to calm myself down. This novel gave me all the happiness in life, to the point of suffocation.

Its freaking funny and cute at the same time.

The MC suffered from a cong**ital heart disease and passed away, and after he opened his eyes, he transmigrated into another body. Don't get it wrong, he transmigrated into another body of the same generation. It's quite confusing at first but as you engage in the story, you will understand it. Our MC is f*cking badass AF. When he got kissed right... more>> after he transmigrated, he punched his supposed lover. That gave a good laugh. Also, the original owner being a gay didn't affect him in anyway, for now.

The characters are lively and got their own set of character settings. They have an individuality.

The MC isn't only the nut job in this novel, and that's a good point. The three of them made a f*cking fantastical trio.

The three of them are all straight for pete's sake! But they get entangle with men, even if they don't want to. They're really straight and were only bent by male alphas HAHAHAHAHA

Geez, I really can't express my love for this novel. I just can't get enough of this. I really want to recommend this novel for everyone. Trust me, this novel can make your day and put a laugh in your mouth. <<less

The average novel where an Interesting premise gets destroyed by "misunderstandings and conincedences." MC is one of those ret*rded naive as fck door mats who can't tell when they're being r*ped. There is no plot apart from what is advancing the relationship.

ML is one of those Obssesive stalker types who only has s*x on their mind.

It's a stereotypical yaoi novel tbh. Except its made worse by the misunderstanding/naivety thing.

The story starts as 5 stars (freaking hilarious), and then as noted in other reviews, it becomes sketchy. The shous (including MC) are being forced in one way or another. I wouldn't call it dub-con. For me, things were no longer funny after chapter 39. At this point, I noted to myself that all the gongs are certified creepy. The irony is the scum gong in the beginning

Spoiler

really isn't bad compared to the creepy gongs later, as far as I read.

trying to get him drunk, not listening to him when he said "stop, " and then using an aphrodisiac to effectively make him need to be comforted no matter if he refused before—he did all of this after stressing that he wouldn't force him

Beginning is funny, I used to like it a bit.

However my interest went downhill very fast once the couples started getting together.

Over used s*x cravings from gongs or s*x jokes almost every chapter. It gets really really tiring to repeatedly read how they could manipulate shou's into having s*x with them.

All generic obsessive, manipulative gongs who seems to never stops thinking about s*x.

MC's naivety? Becomes unfunny as I read further.

I wish I could rate this higher, but I'm honestly disappointed by the main couple's first time.

As noted by another review,

Spoiler

the scummy gong at the beginning wasn't that bad compared to all the other gongs. At the very least, the scummy gong didn't try to have s*x with the mc's body. He might be an a**hole, but he all his s*xual activities are (mostly) completely consensual.

There isn't any getting drunk and drugged involved in his s*xual activity (except one case mentioned in the text, but he was the one drunk and someone else wanted to do it with him).

[collapse]

Another thing, as cute as some scenes are, a lot of the happenings are rather disturbing. I know it's for comic relief, but I can't get over how all the gongs have basically no common sense when it comes to pursuing their love interest.

Spoiler

Forcing them us going to do nothing in getting their heart. I honestly cried when the main couple had their first time because it wasn't the way I thought would be proper. Like, get the poor boy in the mood for it through a romantic date or something. Not get him drunk and use an aphrodisiac to make him "need" s*x. That part was extremely disappointing to me.

And then, the MC also had a thought about how he should just let the ML do it because the ML has waited for such a long time, and quite frankly, I find that s*upid. If the ML truly cared, he would have continued to wait until the MC was actually consenting to have s*x with him.

What makes this worse (imo), is that the MC said that he wants their first time to be when he was willing to do it. Like, he even acknowledged that it would happen by his own choice!!! It would have been much better if that had actually happened, rather than the ML basically drugging the MC the get "consent." I think this really toed the fine line between dub-con and non-con/r*pe.

[collapse]

Regarding the other couples, I found them funny at first, but the gongs are simply idiots.

Spoiler

They're also a**holes, and they don't even properly consider the shou's feelings. They're basically like the scummy gong at the beginning, but they want s*x (and their heart) from the shous. Honestly, they're completely failing in their pursuit for love, and I simply can't approve of any of the relationships going on.

The only person with good advice in this novel was the bartender, but that only happened once. Unfortunately, the gong for that particular scene is too s*upid to know what approach would be good in order to chase after his shou.

[collapse]

This was fun while it lasted. A little bummed to drop this because I really did like the MC.

Spoiler

He seemed like he could get actual, decent consent from the ML.

The story showed so much promise but failed to live up from its promise. The starting was very hilarious and unique with hilarious protagonist, silly side characters, and a caring ML. Unfortunately, as the story goes on, it makes fun of r*pe and kidnapping by depicting them in a funny light hearted manner. It left a bad taste in my mouth that I just stop reading. Those scenes are meant to be comedic I guess? I really didnt find those parts funny, oy horrifying.

The 3 stars are for the translation and the first half of the novel.

The story starts quite well with all the craziness being quite funny. There are quite a few transmigrated people around. The MC and ML getting together and their interactions are sweet.

Unfortunately, the side characters make the story go downhill. There is a lot of non-con passed off as comedy which is in poor taste. All the gongs get together with their "wives" either forcefully or by tricking them. Its off-putting.

Funny and interesting in the beginning and and then it shows that r*pe and forcing people into s*xual relationships is light and funny topic. And also looking a certain way can provoke people to r*pe somebody, yeah right. And everything showed in light and funny atmosphere.

For maximum enjoyable reading experience, dismiss all your brain cells for their well-deserved vacation and set your brain aside as you read this novel.

As mentioned in the comments, the gongs are kinda r*pey but if you do as I said above, then this novels gets 5 for comedy and 4.5 for romance (imo).

Theres a lot of nonsense but its hilarious. It isn't exactly the type of novel that screams stoopid but its very thirsty.

The MC isn't s*upid; is fiery and straightforward. He is a very good advisor to his friends... more>> and thinks things logically.

Anyway, just read it. If you do as said above, you'll like the characters. (Maybe except a certain slag gong)

Theres definitely no boring chapters, their all entertaining and eventful.

IMO. (in my opinion) <<less

Pure comedy.

The characters were very well defined in my own opinion. I can remember them and say their traits, etc.

Of course, there's also the hilarity that the hospital always has that phenomenon wherein people would wake up amd claim that they aren't their own selves. Lol.

There are a lot of side CPs. I really loved them too. The comedy is really here. ??? There's also pure romance and hot R18 scenes. There's also a cute cat. ?❤️ I love how scheming the gongs are towards their shous. There was also a part... more>> in the novel where the two shous are 'escaping' together to protect their chrysanthemums and the two gongs teamed up in order to bring their lovers back.

Really, there's never a dull moment here. I'm glad I read this novel. <<less

I read the reviews and all, so I hadn't t coming, but, well... The translator, chrysanthmumgarden. com, is great, yes, but the story? No.

Firstly, yes, there isn't a r*pe tag. However, I think the author should've told the readers that it was wrong, because it is, and some of us can't really tell. The worst thing is that it's kinda discreet as well.

No, there isn't any scum gong here — they all concentrate on their shou only. However, literally none of the characters are three-dimensional from what I've... more>> read.

One of the the worst things about this:
Spoiler

The gong says he'll respect the shou and not eat his tofu, but he ends up getting the shou drunk and basically mol*sting him. He also has lube with aphrodisiac, and, if the shou really wanted to do it, he wouldn't need that?

Basically, this story is literally a story about a group of shou that lose their IQ from rapist gong... that don't have any EQ. <<less

One of the best chinese BL novels, I have ever read.

Seriously, they took some cliche concept but then added something new to it and damn made it super awesome.I've never laughed like this before. Do I love the MC?. He's the most funniest and relateable guy ever. Have you ever thought what would you do in some of the situations usually shown in fictions like damn I'm screwed?Well I have and The MC does the same things I imagined myself doing xD

i love the side characters too. They are so... more>> funny and I love how the MC has his own names for all characters. Baby Face and Tranny xD

i absolutely love the ML. Damn, He's too sweet, possessive and loyal.

This is a must-read. The novel has a very chaotic and parody like plot, yet still keeps you involved in the characters and interested to read about what happens next. I always wish there was more to read after catching up to the newest chapters. It might change in future chapters, but up until now, I am not in the slightest disappointed. The translator obviously also does a very good job so kudos to them as well!

I really recommend this novel to comedy-lovers.

[Edit]: I quite this a while ago.... more>> I forgot why exactly, but it was something along the lines of the plot was always just repeating itself and it got kinda annoying at some point. So do with that information as you like. <<less

If you want a good laugh, read the first one third of the story.?

If you want to watch a good story slow turn ridiculous with characters popping out of nowhere just to annoy the reader... then keep reading.?‍♀️

There's SMUT, so it's not a total loss ?

And the translation rocks! ?

But the side characters took away from what could have been great. Oh well ?

SOO FUNNY HAHAHA I cried laughing a couple times, especially chapter 12. Also, I read the low-star review by dtyfg and am thoroughly convinced that person is talking about a different story or slandering this novel. This is hilarious BECAUSE the MC is kick-ass, both witty and strong. Seriously, DANG I love how at critical moments MC shows his sanity and ruins ML's schemes hehe. ML is genuinely very deeply in love and has patiently waited 10+ years, and is still waiting and protecting (although now he's also scheming lmao).

Characters:... more>> 5/5

MC is SO funny, the schemes and lies he comes up with are hilarious and the way he handles crazy situations is ingenious. ML is so far much better than classic novel MLs who are crazy possessive etc., he's proving himself to be protective but caring and patient. He's never used force and immediately stops when he senses MC is uncomfortable, genuinely wanting reciprocatory love. Once they start doing the papapa, he might become more stereotypical though...

I also love all the side characters. They're all crazy and unique in their own ways, and it makes for crazy situations and laughter. All the characters are so colorful and well developed, they're great.

Spoiler

Also, I really can't dislike Ning Xiao. Yes, it was pretty cruel of him, but in his position, I would also be upset and want nothing to do with the person. How he chooses to live his life is none of my concern, especially since he makes it pretty clear to his partners that there are no feelings involved on his end. It's not like he ever treated anyone forcefully, even after he becomes interested in MC (yet at least).

[collapse]

Plot: 5/5

It's pretty slice of life, there's nothing really melodramatic about this novel. It mainly relies on its crazy characters as MC tries to navigate through his new life safely. I usually hate stories with misunderstandings, but the MC lies his way to hilarity.

Rape:
Spoiler

One reviewer disliked the story's attitude of r*pe, and they're not entirely incorrect. Of course in the real world r*pe is r*pe and it's not okay. Personally, I didn't really mind what occurred in the novel, mainly because in the end r*pe didn't actually happen. Regardless, I don't think it's a key part of the story since it was the concern of a side character. In the story, it's more the general ambiance is light and humorous, not that the author wanted to treat this topic very lightly. Edit: The whole topic is treated perhaps too humorously and too lightly. Personally, I still enjoy this story, but definitely be careful if this is a sensitive topic for you.

[collapse]

Writing & Translation: 5/5

No problems with the translation and the translator has an amazing translation speed. Seriously, I'm in love.

OVERALL: A REALLY good and funny story, definitely give it a try!!! <<less

The story was funny at first. The characters were OTT stereotypes of gay men, constantly changing partners, cheating dressing oddly, blah blah.

Then came jokes about kidnapping, the attempted assaults, the everlooming r*pe of every bottom character. They all just accepted it as the norm. The tops looked out for their abusive brothers and ratted out the victims, I mean the shous/bottoms, to their "husbands."

No one in this story is a good person. Even the MC shrugs his shoulders when a third tier character is kidnapped and coerced into s*x (ie... more>> r*pe). It's no big deal, just tops being tops, gays being gay.

The MC is r*ped but he shrugs his shoulders and just gives up, letting the ML do whatever he wants without question. Because why the hell try to do anything with your new found life? Just let someone force you into s*x and ignore your choices at every turn! But it's okay, he secretly has the power to withhold s*x so he's got the upper hand in this relationship--except he doesn't bc the ML will just drug and r*pe him again. If he tries to get free his buddies and the tops buddies will just throw him back at his abusive "husband."

Do not recommend. <<less

What a beautiful book. It's funny, romantic, sexy, thoughtful and occasionally sad. I loved the strength of feelings. Not just between Qi Le and Gu Bai but between the whole gang of "brothers". I immediately wanted that whole gang as my best friends.

There's a r*pe tag and it might be a trigger to some people. Read the tags, they're there for a reason. If it's not your cup of tea it's better not to read the book instead of suffering through it just to give it a one star.

Not exactly... more>> a light and breezy, easy-to-read romcom. It was a moving, heart-breaking story richly told with depth, genuine emotion and passion. There were highs and there were lows, and as difficult as that was at times, it was worth every single step of the journey these characters had to take to find this kind of love. My own emotions were all over the place while reading this book. A truly memorable reading experience and one that will stay with me for a long time to come.

PS: I know It might seem like the MC is just giving in to ML because he took care of him in his past life and waited for him for so long but I honestly feel that he really adores his boyfriend and it's noticed in the little things.

Spoiler

The way he panics when he thinks his parents might ask him to leave Gu Bai. The way he went down on his knees begging his mom to please bless them, and there's this point he actually says he can't see himself without Gu Bai.
