Su Xingchen inherited a house where a rare spatial overlap occurred inside.

The person who ‘cohabited’ with him was a young and handsome entrepreneurial elite. This president was very pitiful. Everyday, he didn’t eat well or sleep well, and even had nightmares at night.

Since they happened to live ‘together,’ Su Xingchen also helped the other person cook and clean in passing.

For example, when eating glutinous rice with chicken for breakfast, he shared some. When eating beef stew and cucumber salad for lunch, he shared some. When eating bitter melon scrambled eggs at night … Oh, don’t like bitter melon? Ok, have pork stir-fry with wood ear mushroom instead!

One month later, Su Xingchen was pleased to discover that the president had been fattened up by him (don’t you think?)!

However, what Su Xingchen thought was a mutually harmonious companionship, somehow turned him into the other person’s ‘white moonlight’ (unattainable love).

Really refreshing, it ended a little too soon but it's just enough. It's not really heavy on the plot, super fluffy. I recommend.

    • Characters
Su Xingchen - MC

Spoiler

He's a likeable character, not exactly too OP, he knows how to cook food, though not the expensive restaurant quality. He's a little eh on the emotional intelligence side though, well at least he figured out he liked Fengxing.

[collapse]

Yu Fengxing - ML

Spoiler

He's a little too... unguarded? But I could understand that, someone who's very hungry would likely not think and just eat what's in front of them ignoring the fact that it might be poisoned.

Plus if I were him I'd continue to eat anything after knowing the entity that's cooking for me is done out of good will and doesn't have any motives. His character is just right.

Had a good laugh on how he thought MC was a ghost though it's pretty reasonable since he cannot see MC.

None of that brainless male lead qualities that only think with the stick between their legs. He's pretty alright.

[collapse]

Plot

I'd say it's pretty good, entertaining and refreshing, barely any drama, so if you're here for any drama, this story isn't for you, it's a very light read.

Not any of that heavy plot, barely any large fights,

Spoiler

just a few light ones like MC not tending ML for a few days, ML getting a little angry at MC's lies though understandable.

[collapse]

  • Theme
Spoiler

The theme is also pretty interesting, a house that connects to another, but it's only one-sided? Pretty interesting.

[collapse]

I'd say this story may be perfect for people taking a break from any stories with heavy plots.

I enjoy reading this novel. Slice of life but its not boring (for me)

I love how they build their feelings and relationship for each other because they derserve it T.T

ML typical overbearing president

MC like lil bunny but not s*upid

I'm surprised that I read the whole novel (mtl) in one go because I dropped a lot of modern with slice of life story.

I almost always read webnovels with my junk-food glasses on. Meaning that I am willing to ignore many: plot holes, unrealistic depictions of how people function emotionally and physically, and problematic things in general. Webnovels are for fun, so if I'm having fine I can wave many things away. Emphasis on the many, not all.

Because wow.

Hard agree with all the reviews about being left with a squicky aftertaste about the relationship dynamics in this one.

I loved the premise and the initial part was pretty nice imo. The rural... more>> life of running around foraging, gardening, and playing with dogs? Nice and relaxing seeming.

The creepiness when it did appear? Did not come from where I was expecting. There's plenty of voyeuristic potential with this premise and somehow I feel like I might be more comfortable with that than with what actually went down. Because my issues with this started growing as the relationship between them did.

Yes, this absolutely felt like grooming to me. And there's just a lot of things I don't like about the ML. There's so much I could go into if I went back and searched, but off the top of my head we have:

  • the ML knowing our MC is taking a break from college. For some reason he kept asking why, despite knowing that the MC didn't want to talk about it because it was emotionally distressing. The ML even thought "oh, I'll leave it alone" and then JUST KEPT ASKING.
    Spoiler

The reason? Bc our MC was depressed af after his dad, his only remaining family member, died.

    [collapse]
The ML had someone look into the MC's background and could've easily connected those dots.
  • Like. I looked this one back up to check. But the ML running up and groping the MC's d*ck to compare it to a cucumber. AND THEN THINKING "However, he looked at his hand, it seemed Su Xing could no longer be called a child based on what was between his legs. He was already an adult. Yu Feng smirked without regret..." And our suddenly overly naive MC is embarrassed for a second, but then thinks "we're both men" and forgets it. Like. Wtf, no. That's creepy.
  • the MC does, indeed, make multiple comparisons between the ML and the MC's own dead dad. There was definitely a time when he was like "Is this like having a second dad?"
  • I do know some people who have needed me to point out how healthy friendships and relationships should work. It felt kinda squicky to me here that the ML was the one here defining "we're friends and friends do ___" to our MC as that gives the ML so much power to abuse. Idk why it seems like our MC has never had regular friendships.
  • Gotta love that the ML felt compelled to warn our MC off of the ML's mid-30s uncle bc the ML thought his thing for young boys was creepy. Well, congrats. You, my dude, somehow became more creepy to me than your uncle was.
  • The one that stood out to me a lot for some reason: the ML taking the MC to a salon and ordering the hair dresser to give the MC a haircut that he doesn't want. The MC makes multiple protests, but is spoken over by the ML and the hair dresser assumes that the MC is a middle schooler/high schooler so ignores the MC's opinion. And the ML just. Seemed smug and content that he got his way. THIS FELT LIKE SUCH CONTROLLING BULLSHIT. THEY WEREN'T EVEN DATING THEN. IF MY FRIEND DID THAT TO ME, WE WOULD NO LONGER BE FRIENDS. IT'S INFATILIZING AND WRONG. NOT YOUR BODY, NOT YOUR DECISION.
  • Just. I normally like casual touching and intimacy, but with the power dynamic in this one plus being able to see inside both their heads, I was definitely getting creepy grooming vibes. The ML having the MC get used to it in public without being upfront about "I like you" part, normalizing it like that. The ML admits to having liked the MC for a while, so all of that touching must have been done with ulterior motives and that feels squicky to me.
  • And yes, our MC was really depressed and isolated. The ML was basically the only person he interacted with other than an uncle in the village.
  • Basically everyone thinks our MC is middle-school/high-school age. And the MC knows this. He's upset near the end bc he doesn't think the ML treats him like an adult or respects his feelings. It turns out fine, of course, when it is brought to light that the feelings are for the ML and are indeed reciprocated. But. I don't think I'd ever want to be with someone who I am aware treats my feelings for someone else like they're the immature hormonal infatuations of a child. If I have to argue with you to respect me like that, then that's an automatic no. I don't see that type of jealous disregard (combined with him telling the MC that he's not allowed to date until he's graduated) as attractive.
This review is mostly this long because I'm upset and annoyed this wasn't better. It had such a good premise that I feel like was wasted. The first half felt like it had such potential. But after finishing it I was left with a bad, rotten aftertaste. I really wanted to like this novel. <<less

I gave this 5 stars even though it had several issues, it ended abruptly and I wished there was more to the story. I wanted to read more about their lives after college, did they go back to the village to live? Did they adopt children? Did they grow old together?

So, 5 stars because I cared about the two of them. It was a fun book

Others have mentioned the plot holes in the book, I noticed them, too, and they did not distract from my enjoyment of the novel

And thank... more>> you Midnightrambles for translating the two extras!!! I am so happy and appreciative that you did :) <<less

the start isn't bad, but pretty typical "broadcasting and cooking" type story

dropped because the constant description of MC as "cute, student, just out of school, could still be in highschool!!" was getting too much

kinda hypocritical ML also, saying "don't get with this guy, he's like 30" while ML is also... like 30

negative points also for the doctor in the beginning who said you can cure depression just by falling in love

I wanted to give this a better rating but while thinking about what to write in the review I realized it's not exactly worth it.

Don't get me wrong it is a good/ok read but it felt lacking a bit. Like the story starts with the point that MCs father died, he got depression and decided to return to his father's home. I don't think isolating yourself somewhere in the mountains to cope with depression is something any doctor would recommend.

Then there were MLs family problems that were scratched on... more>> but without future development.

There were lots of things the writer inserted but never depended...i don't like that kind of surface painting.

The MC had that mixup typing on with a bit streaming, a bit farming, a bit cooking, a bit gaming, a bit university drama.... it felt like the writer couldn't decide which way to go, dabbled in all the popular genre and nothing stuck.

So you may read this, it's somewhat entertaining but it might let you feel unsatisfied at the and. <<less

If you’re debating whether or not to read this, DO IT!!

I honestly was struggling to find a good novel to read and then I stumbled across this one... finished it in literally 2 nights!

The precious love that developed through time and careful nurturing between the ML and MC was honestly so touching! The ML survived a horrendous childhood and the MC struggled through a tragic loss recently, yet these two men are able to heal and continuing moving forward together!

Trust me, read this book and you’ll love it too!

I am really loving this novel. I always find it odd how a really bad (badly written or immature) novel will have a 4.6 rating, but then a really good novel (well written, well thought out, etc.) will only have a 4.3 rating.. Some of my favorite novels on here only have a 4.3 rating, so I have learned to look for lower rated novels XD. This one is on the mature side. I really love the idea of a house that has a weird spatial overlap and the actual... more>> story is not what I thought it would be from reading the description. It's a slice of life, but not boring at all for me (young MC mountain life with animals and some farming). I like the slow development in the romance as well.. I love both the MC and ML so far, but I am also a person that is more on the calm/depressed side rather than the chaotic/angry screaming side. The way that this novel describes living a daily life in the mountains foraging and livestreaming really makes me want to live in the mountains, which is rare for a novel. It is an intriguing and peaceful Slice of life novel about a spatial overlap and how the two living in the house get along despite the odd situation.

update, not sure what happened, but it seems like the author got bored and rushed everything... it used to be pretty detailed about the mc's day and little things in life, but around chapter 50, we start going from waking up to suddenly being at the mall to being in bed and going to sleep... like a lot of text is missing. It can't be the translators fault, it just seems that the author decided to rush things and not only has that nice slice of life feeling flown out the window, but sometimes it barely makes sense. <<less

Wow this was useless. Thanks for the translation yo but the author did not write anything worthwhile. Its not even fluffy enough to get you through to the end. In the beginning the food was described very well but as soon as the romance plot started all of the food details went into tbe tr*sh basically. Very abrupt ending also and the countryside farming details were simply abandoned. 0/10 do not recommend.

Gotta agree with some comments that the start of the story was interesting but the latter part actually makes it dull. I actually love its concept where they didn't know each other other than the "spacial" thing going.. It was fine at first when they met but the way they realizes their feelings was kinda rush?

I still had fun reading it tho so 4 stars. Also thanks to the translators!

Short reading, not bad but also not great. There are some plot holes that confused me, and the mystery of why this house have spatial space isn't explained. I'm quite confused about this illogical spatial space plot.

Spoiler

I don't remember well about the plot since it's just a mindless romance, but pretty sure the first time MC send food to ML is by this small space that connect their house? So how is it later he can just casually leave food at the table? And then there also mentioned a place in the house where they could meet each other, but in the end it's forgotten.

[collapse]

The plot focus on the protagonists life and their peaceful cohabitation. Until a few chapters before the end I don't see any romantic feelings, but they've been ambiguous since the second time of their face to face meetings.

Like, hugs are fine but is it normal for two males to kiss each other casually when they haven't recognize their romantic feelings?

I run back to NU to check how many chapters it have, and have to accept the truth. <<less

It's fine. Not amazing but definitely entertaining enough to enjoy.

It's an interesting premise, MC's family already passed before the start of the story so we don't really know too much about the space and neither does the MC. It's just a family secret.

It's nice for a depressed person to like find their feet again in their own way. Both MC and ML have a bit of that going on and they offer each other understanding and compassion. I enjoy that.

It's actually quite good, full of fluffiness and cuteness, just a lil bit plot holes or like inconsistent in their space sharing rules (?) But the story's idea is great and the couple is so sweet

I don't know if it's count as slowburn but they only officially dating in chapter 67... I mean.. before that they already act touchy feely tho (and thinking it's only a feeling between brother/parents) ಥ﹏ಥ so that what makes me impatient with them (◞‸◟)

if you want a slow paced love story, very detailed and not's just in snap they fell for each other then this is for you. It's fluffy and the ML is adorable. Not much dog blood but just moments in every day life that makes them cherish each moment. The MC is also very naive and gullible. I dont know why I felt uncomfortable with all the mention of mc's father in chapter 1. Its like his life revolved around his dad which is kind of bizarre. Might be my little brain going in the wrong direction in particular with the mention of mc's depression sign starting after the death of his father quote "his only loved one". Its totally fine to say that but the way it all revolves with the dad is slightly unecessary writing that would make you wonder what's behind the story, like... more>> the real story. And the only reason he liked ML is because he needed someone to replace that figure. Leave your logic if you want to read this. Which rich person wouldn't panic if there is someone living in their house. That's scarier than thinking its a ghost and who believes in a friendly ghost unless its casper. <<less
