Mu Xiaoya lived for twenty-six years before she knew that she had a sudden genetic disease. There was no medicine for it, and there was only death waiting for her.

Before she died, many people came to see her, but she was most impressed by Bai Chuan.

Bai Chuan was her neighbor, an autistic child with scholar’s syndrome. At that time, his face full of scars was desperate: “I – I studied all your medical records, but I have no way to save you.”

Mu Xiaoya was stunned: “You are a doctor?”

Bai Chuan: “I am not… …”

Mu Xiaoya’s disease was a genetic disease. Unless the gene was changed, there was no possibility of cure. However, Bai Chuan was the only person who tried to cure her after she fell ill.

Mu Xiaoya: “Why are you going to cure me?”

Bai Chuan: “I want to marry you.”

Mu Xiaoya laughed: “If you marry me, you will soon become a widower.”

Bai Chuan insisted: “I – I want to marry you.”

Bai Chuan, who has cognitive impairments, can’t express his meaning very well, and can only repeat it over and over again.

Later, Mu Xiaoya still died. When she woke up, she returned to the summer of her college graduation.

Bai Chuan: “I… I want to marry you.”

Mu Xiaoya: “Good.”

The starlight in the eyes of Bai Chuan was the most beautiful scenery that Mu Xiaoya had ever seen in her life.

The story is super sweet and fluffy. The ML is so pure that you want to protect him and give him candies and tell him that everything will be ok. Both MCs communicate well and work hard for their relationship. It was smooth sailing. No use drama or miscommunication. There was no 3rd party in their relationship. Thank God. But I hated the Secretary Wang something. I am glad her issue was resolved quickly. There was not much interaction with her and we can quickly forget this b*tchs existence. All... more>> the other characters were complete fluff balls. I especially loved the ML and his brothers relationship. Big bro is so protective of the ML.

Spoiler

The previous life was so tragic. I cried so much when I read about the MLs life in the 1st life and I kind of hated the MC for leaving him behind in their 1st life. The part where he waited for the MC to show up at her college gate for a whole day and then got hit by a car T-T. But the 2nd life has a happy ending otherwise I wouldn't have read the novel.

[collapse]

I am glad the author added some details like how MLs' autism wasn't healed immediately like magic but he got a bit better through hardwork and guidance from his family, MC and his psychologist. The author also showed how his condition affected those around him (MC getting stressed, parents overprotective). MC was also pretty supportive, coming up with new ways to show her care and love.

All in all, it was a really satisfying read. Its not getting updated here & I couldn't wait so I Mtld the novel. It was was easy to read. Its one of the best novels I have read. 100% recommend. <<less

4.0 stars.

I liked it more than this authors other work "please confess to me" but I still have to rate it a four because I can't say the cp is a favorite ship of mine.

Spoiler

The ML is treated like a baby by the MC, and his family so it makes it hard for me to ship them together, since the cp doesn't seem to be on equal footing to me. She's clearly the adult in their relationship.

The ml's autism isn't very realistic either he goes between low functioning and high functioning in a confusing way.

The biggest pill for me to swallow was the bracelet saving her life and the total made up illness cure the author pulled out of her *ss to make it so she doesn't die anymore.

the author knows nothing about genetic diseases or how they work either when she created the mysterious illness which really irked me.

[collapse]

All in all it was a good way to spend the day even it I don't ever feel like rereading this again. I'm more willing to try the authors other works now. <<less

Smol and cute novel in the sense that the wish fulfillment element outpaces its realism. Good luck finding the chapters that disappeared with the co-translating site.

Top 10/10 for me. The interactions between the MC and ML were so cute and fluffy. The MC is the best for working hard to improve the ml's autism. This novel is really quite unique, one of a kind and re-readable.

Healing and fluff, perfect for after an angst-filled novel or drama!

This novel is about flaws and humanity. On how a tiny gesture can change a life or in a broader scope a life. Is it realistic? Maybe but it is an idealistic wish for those that have scars yet push for a chance.

Fate is a funny thing, it truly is.

This was the first Chinese translated novel that I have read here in NU. This is also the reason why I'm now addicted to CT novels. Bai Chuan probably is not the best depiction of someone with autism, but the story is great. I still read this novel from time to time when I'm running out of novels to read. It's a light drama, no villain, and it's a happy ending. Give it a try if you're still hesitating.

I read this book quite some time ago. Since I stumbled across it again I figured I would write a review. Take it with a grain of salt though, as it has been some times since I read this.

So over all I remember really enjoying this book. It was not to short or to long for the content it had. The pace was also pretty free flowing and continuous.
plot wise I thought it was pretty cute and reasonable overall. Other than the major discrepancy over what disability the ML... more>> actually had. If you ignore that and take it for what it is, it is a cute story about love and appreciation that goes beyond health. The care shown from family and friends in this was very sweet and I liked how realistic every characters reactions to the couple.

So, ya I liked it. I may read again someday. Not the best book ever but it was still good. <<less

Love this one. Ignore the fact. Because I don't think the ML has an autistic nor autism is like being a Superman.

But as the story goes, I think it's heartwarming and very cute. Just think about his syndrome to be just a unique syndrome you will be okay.

Very much recommended.

What I really liked the most in this story aside from how sweet the couple was to each other is that Bai Chuan was given the chance to slowly come out of his shell. It is not easy, it really shakes him to the core but the amount of support that his family gives in making sure he would be able to stand on his own is really moving. Of course, without the prompt from Mu Xiaoya, they would rather make Bai Chuan live as it is but they let... more>> it go. It made them afraid more than Bai Chuan but they still let him take steps forward. <<less

I can't believe I haven't made a review yet. Anyways very heart warming, the character development is my favorite part. The relationship isn't always sunshine and rainbows, the progress they made individually and together are the things that hooked me. The ending is worth it too. 💖

Super loved this story! 10/10 full of fluff and super cute. I also love how both families loved their children especially the Bai family that loved Bai Chuan so much, until the point where his older brother is referred to as a bro con lmfao.

I've laughed a lot throughout the story, felt sweet because of the love between ML and FL and also cried because of the tragedy.

I just wished the story was longer...

I also want to clarify something, the title actually translates to Savant syndrome, not sure if the... more>> translator purposely translated it as scholar syndrome...🤔

Also, thanks a lot to Novi and MadPanda for the great translation! <<less

short and fluffy! As I am also a fan of tragedy, I was looking forward on the future interaction of ML and the son without FL. Well, still a good read!

I love this story mainly because they only focused on the fluff romance between MC and ML and I'm touched to see how devoted ML is towards MC and how MC tries to understand ML's condition, she helps him too whenever she noticed ML feel discomfort because of his situation...

(Rating is based on reader enjoyment, not medical accuracy)

I loved this webnovel. I felt like I could connect with all of the characters, I loved and was really rooting for the main couple, and I never got bored while reading. The ending is slightly lackluster, but that’s a minor issue. This webnovel is not medically accurate, but it was still enjoyable to read. I loved seeing ML’s progress and MC gradually falling in love with him.
