Morishita Yuu is a senior high school student who was placed in Class X due to a drastic drop in his scores, failing terribly in his junior high school results. Class X is one of the last in the grade.

Although it might seem like a normal class, from what the others students have said, all the students from there are unapproachable, and the class itself has been nicknamed the “Isolated Classroom”.

There, Yuu meets the class monitor, Takamaru, along with many others. Only, as he discovers their individual personalities, he realizes that they are all absolute freaks! From this day on, Yuu begins his everyday life with a bunch of freaks.

The concept of the story is interesting but it feels like I'm reading a rough outline. I think this would make an excellent Manga or Anime instead.

Hmm... the best way I think I can describe this novel is that it's very... plain. Bland. Not much style or atmosphere.

I'm not sure if it's the author's style or whether the translation made it plainer, though I'm inclined to think this is the fault of the author. It gives off the feeling like it's written by an amateur middle-schooler. Trying to write a novelization of what feels like a dating sim game. So, almost no description of the environment or setting to create atmosphere, extremely detailed descriptions of the... more>> characters/ love interests' physical appearances infodumped onto the reader, and a bland protagonist without any personality (not even a tsukkomi to everyone's boke).

This style might have worked if it was accompanied by pictures and images of the characters to establish setting and tone (like in a dating sim), but doesn't work well when purely based on text alone, as there needs to be more literary styling to create atmosphere and stronger impressions of character personalities. So, the barebones story is there, but very plain: This happened, then this happened, then this happened. In a generic setting that isn't described. Then the protagonist sighs and moves on without much thought or reaction. <<less
