I can’t believe I’ve read this far. The story started great and slowly the FL gets so useless that I just want to strangle her myself. People who offended the ML and FL gets let off so many times that I wonder how useless they are. Just kill the enemies and get it over with instead of endangering the people around will you? As the story goes on the main ML gets so useless that I can’t even. The next part makes me willingly drop this novel.

Ok so yes ML your grandfather just decided to kidnap and torture your child and lover. And what did you do? “Please get along with each other I want a harmonious family” WHAT IS WITH THIS USELESS GUY HE IS MORE USELESS THAN MY TOES. And don’t get me started with this FL. She “loves” her child and “wouldn’t ever let anyone hurt him” but suddenly decided to tolerate this old man and forgets that he actually tortured and threatened to sell the child as a s*ave. Hello brain cells??? If it were me (or anyone else in fact) I would have abandoned this useless ML and kill his whole family and this crap novel will finally end.

I've seen plenty of negative reviews and I totally understand their emotions behind it.

This book has quite a plentiful of traumatizing elements like r*pe and S&M etc. Details behind it. While there are criticism to these elements, I feel that the author should also be applaud for the confidence to write a novel with such controversial elements.

This is a very long and draggy book, it goes between FL and the two MLs. Reincarnation is very overacted these days but I sincerely feel that this book was worth my time to... more>> read.

Why? Because while the plots were reoccurring and abundant, I feel that the author has put in plenty of effort to try to make the story intriguing. True, the female lead is a tad dumb, whiney and spoilt but who says all FL has to be strong, smart and independent? It's all about perspective right?

If you have time to spare, I would recommend you to read this, it has touched my heart and I truly felt that it was a joy to read this novel. Be warned, it's lengthy but the flow makes sense and doesn't make you go "WTF" most of the times.

Remember, this is just my personal opinion :) Cheers Guys!

The end for XL and LL is a good end but I felt that the author could have ended the note on a better scenario, it was a little underkill, considering that both of them went through so much together. What I truly felt for was the situation between XL and ZH, at the end of course, they parted on good note but ZH did not get married in the end until the age of 92 and he passed on. Since XL reincarnated, she was only 70+ when ZH died, he was a proudful man and he died the same way, refusing to let XL witness any shortcomings/weakness he might display at the end of his life.

The reason why I wrote this review here while I have not completed the story is because I truly applaud the author for writing very beautifully of ZH and XL's love. I have no where else to express this! It was truly the case of a star-crossed lover situation. Both parties loved one and another too much that they didn't know that their method of loving was hurting one another. When the author wrote about ZH's death I really felt like my heart was about to ripped out of my chest, it was indeed really sad. I'm at 1059 now and the author is showing us the history of ZH and XL, showing how much ZH loved XL and I don't know if I can continue to read it any further since I'm starting to feel sorry and regretful for ZH.

I have read the whole series in another website so it's not up to date with the chapters available here but I'm telling you this is soooooo good!

It might look like the same normal plot in celeb romances in the beginning but please do keep reading it gets better in the latter chapters.

The love triangle between the two male leads is so strong, this actually satisfies my second lead syndrome and yes my heart hurt reading this series. Listen to me I read the whole series I know the ups... more>> and downs of it, please do give this a try it's good much better than other celeb romances. Altho the protagonist's personality wasnt exactly the kind I like, the character development did me good <<less

this has been translated almost to the end. Just a few more chapter to go. Now, this is a very angsty romance. Not just the background story of the MC but throughtout the novel has a very gloomy mood. If you like reading the typical cheerful and OP MC with OP ML, just drop it. This is not the genre you are looking for. This is more like a tragedy than your usual drama. I hated almost all the characters because that of how they treat the MC and I... more>> hate those type of characters. The author made it seem like there are no genuine people in the world. Every turn is a tragedy or waiting for one. This is not for the faint hearted.

OK, so what held me to read? The PLOT. Personally, it has a very winding but interesting plot that I wanted to know what they are and how they happened. I honestly would be satisfied to have a summary of the entire thing. It was quite a struggle to read because I wasn't expecting such angsty story. I kept thinking that if I were the MC, I've long died from misery. The scariest thing for me is feeling helpless and weak. Which the MC seems always to fall into such state every few chapters. It is very depressing.

All I said up there are very much UNDERSTATED. <<less

I seriously don't get why this had such a high rating on webnovel so i've decided to read it.

But I seriously dislike the xia ling's character. She relies too much on other people. Because she had backers she forgets that she is only a commoner and there should be limits to what she says and does. Her situation and personality didnt change from her previous life.

I haven't finish the novel but when I do I hope there is a character development

This book is probably the worst book I have tried to read. I did not reviewed any other book that I loved or hated but I made an account especially to give a review to this book. I tryed to finish it, but after apx. 200 chapters I had enough so I was only able to skip and read some chapters so I could get an idea abut the end, I probably read another 100 while skiping. This is a book that glorifies abus in every form posible,... more>> this is not under any circumstances a romance novel. Despite having some traits that I enjoy when reading romance, I wanted to be able to erase the maine characters from existence. I don't think the two male leads have a normal mindset, I think one is absolutely crazy with a distorted mindset about love, life, education, morality. His abusive behavior should never be considered, not even in a book, love. He is a character more suited to a mistery novel, as the crazy killer. The second male lead, despite having a less violent behavior towards the female lead, I still find his caracter abusive, just in a more subtil and treacherus way. Despite the fact that I'm not a fan of r*pe scenes when reading romance books, I can still gloss over it if is only one scene and the female character gets some enjoyment out of it. This book has way to many r*pe scenes, and is perfectly clear that the female characters are scared. R*pe is not a form of punishment to be inflicted on the person you love, r*pe is a vile, ugly thing that you shold not wish upon not even your enemies. Trying to make any form of r*pe as a normal interaction between lovers is disgusting. My aversion to the female lead is a lot less and I can even justify some of her behavior. But her acceptance of the relationship after the first r*pe both in the first and in the second life is abnormal. Even s*upidity and love can't justify that. The person you love hurt you by r*peing you, by treating you as an object for s*xual reliss, the despair, the pain, the unwillingness to accept, the confusion even the self blame should erase any form of love after that. That acceptance is only viable when your character is to weak, when ther is no pride, no respect for yourself. So ther is a total contradiction with the personality and traits that the autor gave for the female lead. This book is a torture you should not inflict upon youself! <<less

Alright, I'm just gonna dive into this! There's gonna be a hell lot of ranting, even more out-of-topic references, but, in the end, a sorta decent (? Lol, no, just me ranting) review...?

I have read quite a few novels, both good and bad, and this particular novel still stands out in my mind. There could have been many reasons for remembering a novel; its characters, world-building, plot etcetera, but this...THIS... I'm... more>> speechless.

I most of all remember this novel for both 'splendidly-designed characters' (If you can't tell already, I'm being sarcastic here) and the entertaining plot. But really, the plot was actually quite nice (if you minus the downright annoying imbeciles who were supposedly characters in the story) ; innovative, original and all that sugar and spice. I was crying most of the time though, since it was seemingly a cycle of bloody events, potentially good events, but then again a bloody event pops out and tells you 'No, no, no, dearie, you can't have your peace and quiet'.

I sympathize with the female lead, who had to go through so much hate, despise, rejection and abductions, all for what? Eh... my issues are getting a hold of me again.

Now, everyone has their own opinions and views, and I respect that, but I personally dislike the drama and 'darkness' in this story. The author did a good job nonetheless; his/her exceptional skill is very much apparent since they were able to deliver the FL's intense emotions so lucidly. The plot is also extremely immersive and unique. You can effortlessly fall in love with this novel as long as you can withstand the extremely amoral views of numerous characters. I kinda felt that almost all of the characters only cared for themselves, the protagonist included. It felt to me that over and above, it didn't matter if you were hurting or not because nobody would give a damn about you, in this story that is. (And technically, I would say that that's very realistic, but even reality has one or two Good Samaritans, right?{?})

Ahem. The story revolves around our reincarnated female protagonist. Formerly a famous singer, now beginning from square one after a death clouded in mystery. Yes, yes, surprise! She was not killed by truck-kun, coz' truck-kun was on vacation, so instead a mysterious mu*derer did the job.

Oh, and there happens to be a guy whose obsessed with her to extreme degrees (emphasis on the 'extreme'!). I dunno if his abuse towards her in the past can be excused with a simple 'I was in love. Love took over', but if that's your cup of tea, I think you'll simply love this novel! Again, this is just me ranting; I absolutely hate that character! (Oh, but author-san's writing is splendid!)

So, after all the traumatic moments this beast (in the form of a man) has made our FL experience, she dies and we all expect her to lead a new, much healthier life as a different person (though still in the same world). Author-san makes you think that this a cliché story. But it's not. The first several chapters were nice (it kinda looks like rainbows and puppies with a dash of confetti compared to what happens next). It appeared that FL was really leaving the past where it should be, the past.

However, this peace and quiet is only momentary. Bang! Drama! Mention of r*pe in her past life (?! What, r*pe, seriously? Why is this jerk not rotting in jail yet?) ! Evil, sick sister (every romance novel can't go without one of these conceited underdogs, can they?) ! And then, our FL breaks. She had been trying to run away from the past, but the past had come to bite back at her, like all good dogs do, running back to their master.

This is quite sad. (And yeah, I'm sympathizing with a line of text labelled as a female protagonist, but who cares about the details?) Perhaps most would blame the FL, but what for? What did she do wrong? Ah, so you're gonna curse her cause she's traumatized? Well, go ahead. I see no problem there. But no. That's blaming the victim. I wouldn't blame the person who was r*ped and deflowered against her will, assassinated mistakenly due to someone's whim and reborn only to come right back to the same old mess! Instead, I actually respect the FL for not committing su*cide already or giving up entirely. She held on... That itself is a life lesson I think you'll find from all the blood, sweat and numberless tears within this novel. Maybe it's not a Cinderella story, but it is certainly much more realistic.

... And then there's all the drama with her sister.

Then there's a guy with a leopard; whom I'm skeptical about even now. Is he the ml? Or not? Leopard-guy appeared like a good guy at first... ([My thoughts back then]: Hmmm... maybe he's a good guy? Yeah, that's how skeptical you can get about a person's character after reading this), but a lot of his actions and decisions were questionable as the story progressed... Still, I'm still willing to believe rather than doubt, Leopard-kun. I put my trust in you, please give our FL the peace she deserves...

At some point, my cup of tolerance had run out.... I began running only on anger and even more anger. Anger was the only feeling that pushed me to continue reading (also, let me clarify once again; the author is not bad... very nice writing. It's the characters I have bad blood with. Sorry about this, sir/madam~...).

The mention of characters whom I deeply loathed to my bone marrow was like hearing the name of the guy who stole my land and fortune, massacred both my family and my closest friends, went on ahead to air all my dirty laundry in public for all to see and goad at, before finally spitting on my miserable face, with a smirk, and leaving me to-- (oh god, I'm ranting again aren't I?)

It chilled me and made my blood boil white-hot; oftentimes, I seriously pondered my sanity as I was getting angry at fictional characters... (I'm ranting only now after an year of recuperation from reading).

In any case, this is a very, very dramatic, very emotional story with so many twists, so much blood, ash, sweat and tears and... well...maybe a good ending?

I was not strong enough to persist to the end but maybe you (yes, YOU) who is reading this and hesitating - can? Henceforth, I am passing the baton. Good luck.

This is highly recommended, and yet also not recommended for thin-skinned individuals such as myself.

But anyhow, if you happen to enjoy this story, I think it would be one of your favorites because it has a very entertaining plot (though most of the characters are like headless chickens to me).

To love this novel, it really depends on preference and taste. But If you manage to enjoy it, this novel would definitely be one of the favs. This novel is an emotional rollercoaster and made me feel like I've grown with the characters. This novel is very dark and the main characters do have lots mental illnesses. But I still love this book.

I hated a certain character in the beginning but idk why but I started loving this character. I couldn't stop reading. This novel is not a fluffy romance... more>> with an overpowered FL. It's dark and twisted and depressing <<less

I'm so glad that I still decided to read this novel even with a low ratings. At first I don't like all the characters, but when I get to read more, I eventually had a deep understanding of their characters and emphatized with them. Their flaws and imperfections makes them perfect for me. Most of them here suffers mental illnesses, some has depression, PTSD, OCD, bipolar disorder etc. So if you're into over powered FL and fluffy romance, this isn't for you.

Please don’t waste your time reading this story. Tbh, the only thing that keep me going in the first place is the “love triangle” and the revenge plot. BUT, God this is my first time reading a story where the male leads ARE BOTH tr*sh!! ARGGGH I hate them all 😭😭

I hate how even Li Lei couldn’t control his f*cking tr*sh family until the middle part of the story. AND I HATE how all the antagonists take such a f*cking long time to get their doom!!

I don’t like how the author make such illogical plot that really doesn’t make sense. One time the FL will live well then the next chapter for some forced reason, she get back with her rapist ex?? HOW CAN IT BE!?? And then she is pregnant then her baby is (faked) dead!? Like??! Then after that she go back again with the ML 😭😭

The most crazy and illogical thing for me is not the reincarnation plot or the whole “Holy Xi Family”. The crazy thing is how Xia Yu, after all the damn and despicable things that she has done, especially 2 mu*der case on the first life, everyone HAVEN’T FOUND OUT ANY-DAMN-THING! I'm glad I mtl-ed it, although there are some parts that I want to read after being properly translated, but the rest of the story especially after chapter +200 when Ye Xingling met the Li family was a journey of angts, frustration, and more angts. The 'peaceful' mood just went downhill from there, imo. I can stand our female lead facing problems and challenges.. But I couldn't tolerate how the female lead was treated after that. It gave me a bit of trauma, especially starting from the part when female lead and Li Lei were forcefully separated after the accident that forced female lead to contact Pei Ziheng. But overall, it has a satisfying end and the beginning of the story really captivated me. I had several re-reads episode of chapter 1-200.

I like dthe story. Although it was sort of the typical chineese story of never ending trouble, the writter actually explained why was the trouble. The FL wasn'r s*upid, yet she wasn't OP. The ML might have not waited for her to be ready for "that" and did it but he was God compered to her ex [1]. He wasn't a ladies man, he was on her side he wasn't black ballied or arrogant. It had a good conclusion. The characters have personality and you didn't get lost in the... more>> middle of the story. Another thing I liked was that they didn't fell in love with each other because of the s*x. Or because they met at first sight. The love wasn't forced! The story also DIDN'T start like the typical one night stand and then 5yrs later a child and woman appear. It was great.

I have to admit the MLT- reading is hard but it was worth the trouble. The only thing I didn't do was read the side story or the extras, i'll wait for the translation. I won't go on detail but the good people got a happy ending while the bad god their deserved karma.

[1]NOTE to all who didn't like that part. If the writer hadn't made Li lei (the ML) do that, we would have to wait other 500 chpaters for Xiao ling (FL) to be ready for the first night and then 5 more chapters with her being shy then other 10 her feeling she wasn't Clean or good enough for him. And in the end she agreed to date him knowing s*x is involved in a romantic relatioship. He is also from the yakuza or the underworld, used to woman. He had a lot of selfcontrol, in other stories a ML like that needs a woman every night. In other stories the ML is a jerk and the FL forgives him or their is an emperor with a Harem. In this case ML is GOD and FL after thinking about it decides to forgive him I know r*pe is bad but damn he had to. Now I am just waiting for the translation to go to the extras and for the manhua to get caught up.
