Iruma Takumi, a 40-year old salary man, was dragged into a hero summoning just like in a template. What was his fate? The Goddess sent him and the heroes to the other world separately.

With the Goddess’ overprotective support, he landed in a different world looking handsome, rejuvenated, and quite different from a Japanese.

Although he wanted a slow life while working in the manufacturing trade, that was not permitted by the Goddess’ special body and abilities.

Would Takumi be able to live a peaceful life in a different world?

This story follows the template to the extreme, with absolutely no deviation. Adventurer's Guild, s*aves, levels, five page status screens by chapter five, strongest in the world by chapter ten, able to produce infinite diamonds by chapter 30. Pass.

It started off quite good and I was hopeful for more crafting oriented story focusing on complex world mechanics and how to build things but it turned out quite generic in the end.

It's not a bad story but unfortunately it's not that good either and I'm finding hard to continue reading any more than I already have.

The world just lacks too much complexity and detail to keep me interested.

Spoiler

One of my biggest issues is that the author gave up announcing skill level up or even showing any character stats past chapter 100

The MC has allmost reached the peak of his Blacksmith and Alchemist jobs and both hi Alchemy and Blacksmithing is max level so I was very interested what's next?

Master Blacksmiths? Godly Alchemist? What skills would he gain?

But instead the author stopped showing stats just shy of lvl 90 of blacksmithing and alchemy.

[collapse]

What I really wanted out of this story is a highly crafting and creation oriented story that made the process complex but satisfying this fails to deliver on that instead having it as a foot note like every other novel.

Creating things is hard and ripe with failure even in this world now add alchemy and magic and you're telling me everything can be done like a footnote? I call shenanigans there... it may simplify some aspects but any magic to do that should be complex itself. <<less

No, you won't be the greatest alchemist. You'll start off learning alchemy, then for some reason you'll be a tamer, a blacksmith, a tailor, a warrior, a construction worker, a carpenter, an oracle, a spirit magician, a village chief, anything but an alchemist.

Too many abrupt changes disrupts the flow and as of now there is no pretense at a story, just basically a town-building game (mobile game quality). I don't mind that sort of story normally, but it requires a lot more character interaction - at this point for at... more>> least 50 chapters it's basically [insert resident] gives the protagonist a quest, he completes it, other residents add on additional related requests, he completes those. Rinse and repeat. There's no fun character interaction, no learning more about the world, and the process is mostly skimmed over, so it's very empty. And no end in sight.

Still, I'd give the part up to the town building a 3*, something over a hundred chapters, good for killing time. You can just go "and he lived with his waifus happily ever after" and end it when the town is started and it will probably be an OK read. <<less

So far, as of chapter 4, I am questioning the skills of the writer already.

Minor Spoilers:

Spoiler

The main character is taken to a new world ahead of the other summoned heroes and is given preferential treatment for reasons yet unknown. He then explores and eventually encounters a village where they are all incredibly accepting. This is the part where I question the skill of the author, many things are glossed over incredibly quickly in only 1 chapter, he meets the character Banga and has barely any conversation with him, he then proceeds to build a house with the help of the villagers and then because he has no furniture yet, he stays in Banga's house. The author then tells us that there is two others living in this house which are Banga's family, we do not even meet them yet. Yes, in one chapter, he meets the villagers, befriends them almost instantly and then proceeds to build a house before eventually living in Banga's. I feel that these villagers are way too trustworthy, especially as Martha, Banga's wife, is preparing his meals for him.

Also, the author ignores basic writing etiquette in the sense that he does not abide by 'Show not tell', something that I learnt in Primary school (UK). It is implied in the synopsis that he is handsome, so when it comes to showing this in the story we only get one piece of dialogue from some random character: "Oniichan is a handsome guy, isn’t he?", that is it.

[collapse]

Also this section of dialogue is just incredibly awkward, literally the first conversation they have is about the economics of the area:

Spoiler

As I was talking to myself, a man in the prime of his life wearing a fur vest started talking to me.

「Yes, I left my hometown after I came of age, and I collect raw materials as I travel. Also, my name is Takumi.」

「Wow, Takumi, huh. That’s amazing for someone still so young. I am a hunter in this village, Banga[2]. Even so, collecting raw materials huh, this area is abundant in raw materials used as ingredients for medicine. Additionally, there is an ore vein near here so this is a paradise for those with production Jobs. Well, being so far in the out still has its flaws at times though.」

If there are a lot of materials here, then staying for a little while to temper the skills of the production jobs I’m aiming for would be good.

[collapse]

So far I have given this 3 stars as it is only the start, I will continue with this novel as long as I can before I tear out my beard like most bearded cultivators in cultivation novels when they see something that defies common sense. <<less

It's a shitty mashup of Slime and Smartphone.

Slime has better writing and power progression. Smartphone has a better harem and worldbuilding.

Name is misleading because Alchemy is as relevant as Smartphones are to Smartphone.

... more>> Translation is decent.

Like most cheat isekai the story becomes incredibly mundane and boring because the author can't write conflict or relationships worth a damn.

Author has no grasp of military, economic, or even life prowess. MC is supposed to be 40 y.o. salaryman but might as well have been a 12 y.o.

Also MC doesnt do anything without being told to do it. The Kingdom Building arc boils down to Slime while the MC bends over to other's repeated demands... and somehow a kingdom is born.

The first 100 chapters are good. <<less

This is basically me rant around, im sorry.

I wish author to change the title to "Someday will I be the greatest s*ave?"

... more>> That's really what his character is... A s*ave

I'm not exaggerating because everyone can order him to do anything

****************************

Too many error author did from status character, common sense, profit money etc

But boyyy, this MC is not a dense one (͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

- too many error about their status Level, even if the system say Lv up 2x author can yeet them out and just Lv 1x. Also don't shock if the next chapter the Level is downgrade till 1 - 3 or even didn't exist lol

- lack of common sense. MC said he don't want to conspicuous but all his action say otherwise, from speedrun rank adventure to produce divin era tech. He's the YES MAN to everyone either it villager, merchant, king, and even great spirit. He'll do anything from merchant milking him produce technology for their profit to turn him into s*avery by great spirit

Spoiler

Every single great spirit order him to do what they want and don't considering his will and freedom. If you pass chapter 183 when his s*ave soul is shown, your IQ would drop to negative -_-

He knows Magic circle/pattern for magic device is very rare to one understand because it is Human & Elf ancient language but still his common sense is not yet develope like selling divin era device and don't know how great it was
Did he got braindead or something?
It's an illnes for Japanese author tbh...

[collapse]

- first trading, MC basically sell his goods underpay (btw they know his goods class is SUPERIOR not like on the market). Second trading, merchant basically not gain any profit from what their conversation goes (maybe im the wrong here, but you can read it by yourself)

- Time skip is really really really inconsistent, irrelevant & useless. Author skip 1 years and MC just grinding 5 Lv??? Time skip is basically to fill the gap author made for the plot and not really think about character status like they just sit in home for the entire 1 years and do nothing like adventure or beating some monster to Level up

Spoiler

Goddess Norn-sama take MC to 3 years in the past from the time Hero summoning so author just yeet time skip so the plot can continue without thinking... "why their status still the same even after 1 year"

[collapse]

Even author can't count character age lol <<less

As far as I read now I got to compliment the translator for the regular update.

I enjoy this novel. It's kinda light but it has standard. (Which probably my bias since I like light stories that does not too lore heavy)

The content of this novel easily divided into 4 type : adventure, crafting, other person POV, and slice of life.

The fight are usually as a reason so that the MC can get a certain ingredient and that's all to it right now.

So far after 8 chapters, I am thinking that even with the god blessing the skill learning and increases are too fast. It seems like he will go beyond OP and into godmode. Maybe the Kami-sama is looking for a husband actually??

I rate it as such:

Story:

... more>> 5stars = Awesome ; 4stars = Good ; 3stars = Okay ; 2stars = Meh ; 1star = GodHelpUsAll

I put the story just above halfway of 3stars as at least it isn't a regular "Hero" story and I liked the Goddess conversation. The rating may rise or fall in the future.

Crafting:

5stars = Awesome ; 4stars = Good ; 3stars = Okay ; 2stars = Meh ; 1star = GodHelpUsAll

I rate the crafting at the low end of 2 stars as it seems this character has learned all about crafting from anime, manga, and video games. My issue with this concept is that unless you actually do it yourself by hand for a while you will not learn the nuances and though you may make a product that Looks the same, its functionality should be horrible and the items should break after a few uses.

Overall score is currently just barely at 3 stars. <<less

It's a really fun read! If you like the Isekai formula, with the usual ingredients of an OP MC (overpowered main character), a harem, some levelling, nasty antagonists, then this is highly recommended.

I don't get other reviewers who rate this poorly because it's not at a higher level. They sound like they went to MerkDernalds and complained why there isn't gourmet pizza. You go into this novel knowing it's junk food, and there's a reason why MANY (not all) people eat junk food, it's because it's comforting.

Also, the "he's an... more>> alchemist, but he's also a blacksmith, a tailor, a warrior" is a pretty asinine perspective. If you really think about it, EVERYTHING can involve alchemy. BAM.

The MC also gets laid. Many times actually. It obviously doesn't go into detail, but the MC isn't the simmping viergin that still hasn't done anything and it's already Ch459. So at least there's some level of closure.

This series is NOT the best. Quite far from it. It's an easy decent fast food read that hits the spot if you're into OP MC Isekai Harem storylines. If you don't like that type of story, then steer clear. Nothing new here. <<less

If I recall, there is an MC who reincarnates into magic and sword world. He uses his powers in creating items that benefit the world like the toilet purifier and carriage suspension etc. Right now like what Kuro Alicia said, it feels like the MC is like a s*ave, there isn't any character progression nor story progression. It is just boring creating this new spirit-kingdom with building and more buildings.

Guess its time to move into another light novel.

It's a decent slice of life ln. The plot goes nowhere and he gets OP fast which leads to him messing around for 130+ chapters. It's not amazing but enough to stay engaging and enjoyable.

However there is a drastic shift from slow life to country building that I really couldn't get behind. They dropped the romance, powers, conflicts and instead dedicated 50 chapters to building a country. I found my excitement wavering when they changed direction (it really does just appear out of nowhere and he doesn't have any motivation,... more>> people just tell him to do stuff 24/7).

Who knows what would of happened if they stayed with the initial direction (at that point he is probably top 5 strongest humans on the continent). I would recommend for something light and easy to read, though I would understand if you got frustrated reading it. <<less

It might seem like a normal isekai novel at first, but it's surprisingly entertaining and the translator is top notch. I personally love this novel and it's in the top ten of the novels I read as soon as an update comes out. But any novel euricette translates is worth reading anyhow, one of the best out there.

Honestly I thought the first 3 volumes (133 chapters) were pretty good. The writing was never all that good and it stuck very close to the tropes of the isekai genre, but it was still a pretty fun read, especially near the beginning when the MC was actually primarily an alchemist.

As it goes on it seems like the author just stopped paying attention to anything that they'd already written. Things are incredibly inconsistent, with details being retconed constantly according to whatever development/situation the author wants to toss the MC and... more>> co into. The main characters eventually lost any and all character or agency that they had at the start. The MC turns into the semi-willing s*ave of some selfish spirits, working on things that he constantly complains about, only to happily be rewarded with things that he already had access to (the author forgot). The harem (even the fringe members) lost they're defining traits and basically became silent background characters that can only either faun over the MC, act to protect him, or comedically (not really) scold him.

Not sure if I'll keep reading this one, but if I do it's almost entirely because the TL is actually really good. I don't know if I've ever seen a fan translator cover up so hard for an author's sloppy writing. Honestly the TL feels like way more than the WN deserves lol. <<less

This is perhaps the most mediocre and stereotypical reincarnation novel that I have ever read in my entire life. It feels so unoriginal that it is almost painful to read. If there is a trope then it uses it and sticks to the exact most overused version of the trope. If this was my first time reading a Japanese light novel I would probably really like it. But unfortunately it's not, the complete and utter lack of any sort of originality numbs my brain. I could see any and all... more>> plot developments coming a mile away. For example
Spoiler

he gets hot s*aves that suddenly love him just because he doesn't treat them like absolute garbage and are super loyal, he faithfully recreates Japanese weapons, he makes modern conveniences with magic sells them and becomes instantly rich, he has the blessing of a goddess that makes him level up his skills with literally little to no effort on his part, he used to be an middle aged tired salaryman but got reincarnated young, he got a cute animal mascot that eventually transforms into a young girl, there are other people who were summoned and the summoners are evil in self righteous holier than thou kind of way, MC has all the personality of a particularly normal brick, and many other things that I can't think of right now.

Very casual, very boring and completely lacking in any background or side character developments. Every character other than the MC is just a throw away character who have no personality or significant traits and you should quickly forget about them.

Some issues I've seen is that he has some unique magic/skills like item box but nobody is surprised by it. They take it as if it is a normal thing yet in the first few chapters its told that it is really rare yet everyone knows he has it. Another issue... more>> is that he sold some superior made basic health potions yet he got ripped off by a merchant who he's trusting and the author makes him appear as a good person. Any idiot would realize what's going on but not the 40 yr old MC who's now in a 15 yr old body. His mentality and life experiences is non-existent.

Another issue is that he went along with a peddler to a bigger town and the peddler pointed out his spider and the guards told him he should get it registered at a guild, couple chapters later the same peddler who also scammed him of his potions got surprised by seeing his pet. The MC introduces them for the first time. Unless I missed something in the details when I was reading this boring novel (I wouldn't be surprised, I started skimming through because a lot of it was useless information), the author can't even remember what they wrote and clearly has no direction on what'll happen.

Nobody reacts to how fast he levels up or how many skills he acquires, he's a literal character that will quickly become OP but because the author clearly knows nothing about RPGs or balancing its all wasted. I wasted time reading through 22 chapters because I thought it might be a bit interesting. I was so wrong.

The MC being a 40 yr old is clearly a wasted point as it seems more like he's a 10 yr old who is so easily manipulated and taken advantage of. A full blown idiot who wasted their entire life being a spineless, ignorant person.

I do not recommend anyone to read this.
Translation is pretty good though. <<less

A cheat protagonist isekai, crafter wannabe edition. It's not that bad, just very average in a very competitive genre, with nothing that would make it stand out above the rest. A lot of tropes used in this novel are just done to death already.

If I had started reading it a year ago or more I'd had probably rated it at 4 stars, but by now I've just read too many isekai's, so unless you surprise me it's 3 stars.

Added "I’ve Became Able to Do Anything with My Growth Cheat, but... more>> I Can’t Seem to Get out of Being Jobless" to recommended - it's very similar in terms of tropes used, but since it's an actual adventure story with much more chapters instead of (somewhat adventurous) hedge crafter story it's a much better read, in my opinion. <<less

A prime example of everything wrong with the isekai genre. As unoriginal a novel as was ever released. Unoriginality aside it is also boring. There are better ways to spend your time. Started off interesting, then the author lost the plot and it became a less than stellar city building novel. It might return to being interesting later, but as of right now it's no longer worth continuing.

It's also super irritating how the MC just lets himself be pushed around by everyone. It was at least palatable early on but later just becomes disgusting. I honestly find myself wondering if Japanese people are actually like this with the amount of novels that feature characters with no f***ing spine.

The protagonist lack any ambition. He somehow want to be alchemist but everything that he did doesn't support his goal at all. He is a pushover. Anyone can literally order him around, if he didn't get any blessing by the Goddess he would be bullied to death on his second life. I used to really enjoy reading this one, but it's getting too much. In the first place, he's not required to help anyone out, whether that be the Great Spirits, other races, or even other humans. And while the goddess gave hints of having him do something about the heroes, he was pretty much allowed to do whatever he wanted. He's not obliged to do anything for anyone and yet he does, but come on! He's being treated like a s*ave! And he's allowing them to treat him like a... more>> s*ave, just like a typical spineless Japanese MC! But if he's really okay with being a s*ave to them, then at least he should stop complaining if he's not going to say it out loud anyway!

Spoiler

They don't even bother to ask him politely, especially that Akane and those Great Spirits. They just demand, demand, demand, but what exactly does he get from it? Nada.

[collapse]

In all honesty, he doesn't need all of them. The only useful relationships he has in the entire story is his connection with Papeck (to sell his goods) and his familiars.

Exactly why are Japanese light novel writers obsessed over, if not psychopathic MCs, spineless idiots?

I don't even know how to go on with this. I'm close to dropping this already. The only reason I haven't yet is because the harem here isn't as bad as it is in In a Different World with a Smartphone. <<less
