Beware, disappointment ahead.

It starts hella good. But you can start worrying after the 2nd chapter, without mistake, because it is to worry about.

If it wasn't because of the brainfart OAPP suffered in the middle of one of the most entertaining starts I've read (like ISSTH but had to drop thrice in the first 11 chapters Q_Q before reading it in one go), to an utter disregard for anything that this work was worth.

You'll wonder to yourself if the plot will happen, or if something gets in between. Then something gets... more>> in between. You'll wonder if the WRITTEN tension will lead somewhere or if it will repeat 10 times again in 40 chapters. Then it happens for 1, 000 chapters.

There's a fight every 2-3 chapters, and those are long waits. Actually, I think that's an exaggeration, 1-2 chapters without fight is rare. Like... SCARY rare. And every single new enemy out of a brand new fart is the strongest yet, nvm, the next one is the strongest- nevermind, the next one.

No solid foundation, failed worldbuilding for the sake of writing more tiring fights, and the power ups are all the novel is telling you shouldn't be done, but because a certain M something C does it, it's good.

Enjoyed before dropped. <<less

Everything about this novel is mediocre to dogshit

  • Cliche plot: useless tr*sh but finds he has a secret treasure
  • Disappointing translation quality for a WuxiaWorld novel
  • Limited vocabulary range: solemn this, solemn that, solemn flash in his eye etc. Don't think he's ever heard of synonyms
  • Redundant writing: paragraphs and paragraphs of unnecessary text to drag up word count
  • MC always goes on this long speech mid-fight whilst his opponent just stands there and listens
  • Drugged sex/rape
  • Author's atrocious attempt at creating an emotional boo hoo moment:
    Spoiler

meets girl not too long ago, does him a few favours, they f*cked but he's unaware cause he was drugged (ofc he was), she gets killed and MC goes rage moment and gives up opportunity to power up.

    [collapse]
  • Whenever MC is pissed he goes AHHHHHHHHHHHH. Not necessarily a negative but its really f*cking cringe
  • Always finds s*upid excuses to hide his strength
  • Author seems to forget some of the tools/powers that MC possesses cause he never utilises them even in dire moments
  • Like stated above a lot of inconsistencies in plot
  • Every time MC glances at a woman a young master is offended
  • OP pet carries MC's ass every single fight
  • and so on...
TLDR poorly planned and poorly written, don't bother reading

Mediocre at best. Yang ye is probably one of the worst protagonists written. He is objectively (even admittedly during the story) a bad person, but the author tries to constantly justify his decisions and actions. Yang ye is essentially the same as all of the villains he hates, making him seem like a big baby that's throwing a tantrum the whole story.

Decent world building, dumb main character that makes the typical cardboard side characters seem like gold. I tried keeping an open mind and completed 400 chapters, but found myself... more>> growing less and less invested in his journey and goals. <<less

Seriously, people that are saying dis novel is tr*sh are really s*upid...I'm honest no offense... they say his personality is too extreme (which is true)... but that's what's made him an amazing swordsman (who will rather break than bend, unlike others)... he comprehended a sword domain, without even going far into sword dao... while other ancient sword experts possess amazing sword intent without even a single sword domain... while some are even forging a fake sword domain hoping for d real thing...d MC (yang ye) will kill who ever insults... more>> him or Target his loved ones regardless of who that person is even if he/she comes from a powerful clan or a descendant of a supreme expert... he doesn't care, call him s*upid... but I think he is more likeable as an MC than dat dude (d mc) of chaotic sword god... that always hesitate or runaway or even choose to bear d insult... any time he faces an opponent like dat...d MC (yang ye) is strong but he acquired most of his strength through practice...I mean d novel is so amazing...

... he comprehended swordintent and domain, slaughter intent and later on comprehended slaughter domain, then he fuses both domains together, later on achieved sword dao of emotion, sword dao of hatred, sword dao of fate... possess bloodline (mad demon)... seriously I'm in chapter 2780 and I'm still hoping for more chapters... it just surprises me when people call d novel tr*sh... because of his extreme personality, and it's not like he's extreme from d beginning, he only became that way when he lost his love ones... seriously... an amazing novel is called tr*sh... (sigh). <<less

The novel isn't bad, I'd be willing to give it a 3, but the translation and editing is terrible. Completely ruin the joy of reading. So dropping to a 1.

I like the MC personality, ruthless and don't take crap. Remove the root to prevent future trouble, not wishy washy wimpy like some of the other MCs. The harem part is meh.

Beware of the terrible translation/editing. The translator has limited vocabulary and tend to use words such as "extremely", "converge", "never" and "definitely" over and over and over and over and... more>> over. Heh :-) <<less

There are very few novels that I couldn't get past at least the first Arc. This is one of them. I'm fairly tolerant when it comes to chinese novels specially when it's free, so my scale towards them are handicapped to the highest degree yet I couldn't even get past chapter 115. One of the worst novels to ever exist in this genre.

Avoid at all cost!

I’m giving this a 5 simply because it does not deserve to have this low of a score, especially compared to other really terrible novels.

Otherwise I’d rate this as a solid 4, it hasn’t been the best novel I’ve read but it is nowhere near the worst I’ve read. I actually really do like the mc’s personality of don’t offend him and he won’t offend you. And if you offend him he kinda goes off the rails. This is my personal taste and I know this is something many of... more>> the novels don’t like.
Another positive for me is the overall world building of starting from small planets, then star systems, then up to a higher galaxy, up until finally reaching the universe. However the author doesn’t always do the best job of laying out the environment, it can get a little confusing telling exactly where the MC is. (On a planet, in space, on a different plane, etc.)

Unfortunately, the harem is pretty lackluster with many of the love interests essentially being forgotten. It follows the formula of pretty decent romance in the beginning until the MC surpasses them and they pretty much disappear. The one thing the author did good here that most others I swear refuse to do is with An Nanjing. Her personality is a little bland but the author actually allows her to match the MC in cultivation and combat ability. She is actually really helpful in fights even towards the end of the novel which is almost unheard of in these novels.

There’s certainly repetition with MC offending someone strong then getting chased around for chapters until he can finally kill them but it’s honestly not much better or worse than every other cultivation novel. So, I don’t really mind it.

In all I would definitely recommend this novel as just a solid story to read when you’re between novels. Not amazing but also not as bad as the reviews show. <<less

This novel is fairly mediocre and that’s being nice, but this somehow managed to curb my boredom when I had nothing else to read, hence the two star. Can’t even really say I read it in its entirety and randomly started jumping chapters when certain events and characters piqued my interest, though even while doing that it was fairly easy to understand what was going on because this novel’s plot isn’t all that complicated, just being a rinse and repeat.

It's your average Chinese fantasy novel. I like the ruthlessness of the charactr. The Sword Domain seems like a barely relevant part of the story which I find a bit annoying. Some of the arcs are better than others. I think the author goes to the nerf/power loss to often for filler. All in all a better read for a beginner of this type.
