Ji XiaoYu: No, we lost our egg!

According to a legend in the common world, rooster eggs can have a great effect as a elixir. If eaten by ordinary humans, they can prolong their life, while if eaten by spiritual beasts, they can greatly increase their power.

One year after the pheasant spirit, Ji XiaoYu, entered the land of humans, he suddenly laid an egg, but he couldn’t remember who the other father of the egg was.

While working hard to earn money to save up for powdered milk and having to also protect the small egg from all sorts of bad characters, this pheasant’s life was really difficult.

Technically a strong 3.5 that I rounded up to a 4 because baby chick was WAY TOO CUTE FOR RATIONALITY TO WORK.

Sweet mpreg- what more do you need? You have your domineering alpha CEO & a lively, naive MC who so happens to be a pheasant spirit. The interactions are cute; I enjoyed much of the teasing that occurs between the two. I didn't pay much attention to the magical details of the plot. Dare I say, even the whole "dual cultivation benefits humans" sounds like a half-assed ploy to... more>> justify an ending where ML will live long with MC. It's just all very convenient, but as long as you're not a stickler for plot consistencies, then you'll enjoy the read. It's fun, concise, & the babies are incorrigibly cute. <<less

Really 5/5 for this

MC is very Funny! Hahahaha laugh so hard at times. Our MC is very strong too and will never backdown. He always gets our ML jawdropped. Although there are misunderstanding it was cleared after and ML said the truth though he knows it might hurt MC. He said it with the conviction whatever happens he will still continue to pursue MC. Our ML really dotes in MC and Love their family too+grandma&grandpa. There are chaps that were also tearjerking so be prepared.

Too short! Endearing characters, fast-paced storyline. I wouldn't quite describe it as fluffy, as there are definitely some dark elements in this story. But the character actions are heartwarming, so I get why it's described as such. I'd like to see more MC like this.

This is the first time ever that I am able to enjoy a male pregnancy story to the end. Light hearted and funny. Thanks to the authour and the translator that I could enjoy this.

A very enjoyable read by one of my fav translators. The story is cute, fluffy and def not cliche. Ive read some novels by the same translator (You Boys Play Game Very Well, Short Story of Shao Wang) and def recommend these as well.

3.5 if I could, but gave it a 4 to counter some of the really low ratings.

This novel was short and sweet and an easy and fun read. The plots were not too dramatic or dragged out, mostly revolving around some misunderstandings. No convoluted love triangles or rival love interest to fight with, thank god. I do wish they spent a bit more time talking about the spiritual beast world in the modern era but leaving it up to the reader to imagine was pretty nice too.

What really made the... more>> novel shine for me was the egg. I'm usually not a fan of mpreg because I feel it makes the 'mommy' character way too feminine for my liking but the MC here is totally masculine despite being pretty and soft looking. He works as a delivery guy and then in security and is way stronger than ML (physically) in every fight. I love love love the little monologues MC had with his egg every evening. They were just ridiculously cute and sweet and how he ends every evening with a "baby, good night! *Mua!* to his egg. I don't think I would have found any of that as cute if the egg had hatched early and became an actual baby. The egg hatches around chapter 50-something and even after that it hangs around for a month as a baby chick rather than a baby. By the time it changes into a human baby you're pretty much done the novel.

What I didn't like about the novel was probably the ML. He's impossibly rich and apparently perfect in every way. Can cook better than a 5 star chef, can do martial arts, is a business magician, does not need sleep to work in top performance, etc, etc. And he's ridiculous. He assumes what happened at the hotel was set up for him and just takes advantage even when it was written that MC was originally refusing and he had to apparently 'wrestle' him down after three tries. Like, isn't that obvious enough of a hint that the other party wasn't willing? <<less

The MC is a little dumb and oblivious. But I guess thats the story style.

The beginning was slow paced by then after went really fast. There was no drama or those face slapping nonsense.

It was just fluffy and cute.

I loved this novel sm, though I would have to say, the logic building behind some explanations in this novel just doesn't make sense, but then again, we're reading a human x pheasant novel. The last few chaps were smh, it can do without the sudden rushed drama, but nonetheless doesn't take any points off the fluff for this novel. The extras were very cute and had potential to become more than what it was... though probably the author was rushing to jam pack it in 2 chapters, the reading... more>> experience was sub par. <<less

I must agree with one of the reviewer: "The story doesn't revolve around the title. " I was expecting for the egg to be stolen the whole story, it was a grate cliff-hanger for me.

The translation is good: 4 stars

The fluff of the story is good. It's a satisfactory story.

This is pretty funny as the ML was the one trying to get MC to be with him although to be fair it is shameless.

Not too bad I guess.

The story doesn't revolve around the title. It simply revolves how MC goes to the city to work for the little egg whose other father he wasn't sure off. Those I found okay because there really wasn't anything off-putting about MC's character.

ML? He has a LOT with the main one being toying with MC's emotions as if it is an okay thing to string someone along just to confirm something. Like talking wouldn't do it, why play someone's feelings? Furthermore, there's a couple of red flags on him. Too possessive... more>> to the point of being darkly suspicious about MC's motives. <<less

Wowww only one word to describe this story it is flufffyyyy everything is lovely and only one complain is need more information extrasssssssss why there is no extras about erbao and it could have been great if there are more interactions between paopao and erbao... Overall this is cute story and highly recommend

I'm kinda expected this story to be nah after reading some of reviews, but after read it, it was actually quite good. Ofc, its kinda absurd at some parts, but I feel that this is supposed to be a light reading story. So, don't have too much expectation. Yes... at first ML tried to get MC to be with him through unsavory ways (getting him drunk), but we knew at the beginning of the story, even w/ strong aphrodisiac kinda medicine, if the MC didn't want to be w/ someone,... more>> he would punch that person first. So... although the ML got him drunk, MC likes him too to be able to reciprocate ML's moves. There's no real intended r*pey scenes here. If you want a light story to read. This is good enough. Thank you for translating this. I enjoy the story. <<less

I don't like the ML. He had to make the MC drunk just so he could sleep with him. He has no respect for him and only thinks by using his lower body. It's worst than a date r*pe because the MC is not aware of his bad intentions and was even showing resistance to getting close to others.

Fluff, funny, sweet, lovely, cuteeee. A good and quick read, it was good.

ML is hard-working in getting his wife, very doting, and head over heels for MC, he's character is good! And so his development!

MC is naive, cute, inocent, lovely, hard-working, both ML and MC are pe*verted xD and he's also head over heels for ML, also with a good base and development~~

This is not a cliche.

The stoy begings with MC laying his first egg, since his a pheasant spiritual-beast that could get pregnat. By this time he didn't know the ML, and the way he got pregnat, he also didn't know it exactly, I mean, the who's the father. And so, he moves to the city and begins to work hard to buy lot of cans of milk and diapers for his baby when he change into human form!

Don't worry, ML appears soon, at ch5 he's already on the story, but he won't get it easy in getting his wife fufufu. Though there are a few misunderstandings since the beginning, but things will reveal themselves with time.

Then they have another child, but this one appeared in the late latter chapters so this baby wasn't mentioned as much like the first one.

But the first baby has his spotlight, and even two extras!

This is very easy-going to read, lively and refresh, and it gets spicy! Hehe~ You'll like it pretty much if you want to read something fluff and with comedy. Maybe and you'll end up re-reading it!! <<less

I wish the MC would have gotten a little angrier with the ML, but this novel was really nice to read. It's too bad the MC couldn't show off his strength more, but it was an enjoyable and fun read with many cute moments.
