There’s a legendary Bishoujo Game that has become popular among Japanese gentlemen.

Its name is “ Magical★Explorer” or Magiero for short.

The game’s protagonist has a cheat-like power with12 different beautiful heroines to flirt with, including additional 12 heroines from the DLC, a harem of 24 beauties. I have become that protagonist!………………Not. Instead, I have become the third-wheel character who always laughing like an idiot next to him.

Of course I was in despair at first.

Of course. If I am the protagonist I could have all 24 heroines for myself along with unparalleled cheat power. However, since I am the third-wheel there’s no heroine that would lay their eyes on me.

But now I couldn’t care less about the protagonist and his heroines. Why? Because I discovered magic. While I was using it, I have become interested in it. I want to master it. I want to become the strongest. Thus I have decided.

I would abandon half my role as a protagonist’s friend to train my magic and then I would beat the hell out of that cheat who can solo the Demon King.

………..I was training with that thought in mind, but somehow I keep getting closer to the heroines and furthermore, I don’t know why I keep encounter events like I am some Eroge’s protagonist.

This is a review from the second read through up to arc 3, I gave it 4/5 the first time around and the score still stands. It's a shallow yet enjoyable story with some very interesting worldbuilding. The prologue sets up commentary about dense MC's and harem BS only to immediately embrace it. Lots of Ero humour/situations but never goes beyond pg13. Watching him speed run on a unique character is cool. The pacing is slow since half of it is harem/SoL (chapters are short). You could write entire essays... more>> on issues the novel has but it's suppose to be enjoyed with your brain off. Our MC is decent, the girls are fun (Team Nanami or bust) and the story/world is whimsical. The update schedule is painfully slow, it's been a full year since arc 3 came out (this is a light novel for f*cks sake). The story has potential for a 500-700 chapter story but I am unsure if I will live that long. <<less

The early chapter is very cliche. I don't like it either, the accidental pe*verted accident, but I stayed because the setting and character fighting style interested me so I continue reading.

It wasn't that bad and the later chapter is also getting more interesting.

Quite a pleasant surprise. I was quite skeptical at first, thinking that the protagonist was gonna be a whiny b*tch boy that would non-stop complain about not being the "protagonist", but it's not, and in this scenario, MC has an actual ambition. There is a nice balance of perverse comedy and seriousness mixed in, and pacing is overall decent.

Author likes to put the "lucky pe*vert" scenario a lot, which is not really my cup of tea as it exists in nearly every form of Japanese shounen/seinen media and entertainment. There... more>> is also a huge lack of character development for all the harem members except for the first girl he meets. The world is extremely vague, little details are given from it, and all I know so far is that it is a monarchical society, with an aristocracy, and some capitalism mixed in... wtf?

Well other than that, I recommend reading it. If I was able to get surprised by this, then I'm sure many others will as well. <<less

I extremely love this story. I get easily hooked on, by Unsual and weird weapons so the MC's weapon is a really huge plus for me. Also considering this is a Isekai in an Eroge, I thought this is going to be full of fan service (Which is rather tame if I might add). The Social interactions are good, So far the Supporting Characters in the story is well developed and has motivations, not just there to support The MC. I also like that the MC is not overtaking the... more>> role of the Protagonist of the actual game and instead supports the Protagonist and view him as a rival to beat (not in the harem department, but in combat prowess) <<less

Although some of the world building is vague, that's the way it's meant to be since it's techinically an eroge. There are alot of stories with settings like this where, since it's an eroge, they have too much ero and not enough story. In essence you can disregard the eroge part and thinnk of this as an RPG Hero collector game instead.

Although it is a harem, the character interactions are fun and each character has their own motivations and personalities although some may be template or cliche.

There are people complaining... more>> that it seems as if the MC is going to basically overthrow the game's hero, but instead takes a much softer approach. This is actually a better option in my opinion since the MC doesn't get too caught up in either "Sticking to the Scenario" or completely destroying the scenario.

Spoiler

He basically decides to help the game's hero power up so he can face the game's enemies in the future while at the same time not keeping his original character as a sidekick that gets left behind. Instead he just gives tips to the hero as a friend and does his own thing with his own harem to prepare himself and his friends for future enemies.

[collapse]

My favorite parts are the side stories from other characters' perspectives. Seeing the perspectives and opinions of the other characters adds more realism to the harem so they doesn't feel as cliche or template as they would without these perspectives. <<less

As of the end of the second arc the story has been good so far, however the beginning was not as I expected it to be.

Spoiler

First off all if you would make the MC a comic relief character, then commit to it setting wise, don't pull stuff like his guardian is the headmaster and the family he belongs is at the very top and he lives with a royal princess. No matter how you look at it that is in no way shape or form the comic relief hid character was supposed to be in the game, also at this rate it feels like he will take a lot of the mc's girls and add them to his own harem. Sure Its too early to decide but he already has two of the heroines and I doubt it wont keep expanding.

The reason I got attracted to this story was the title and synopsis, what I expected was the MC being treated as comic relief at the beginning and he would have to struggle to break that flag/role but no it was very effortless to the point you question early on whether he is the protagonist or not.

In addition the way the character of Tokiota is portrayed in the game again I repeat by no means align to our mc's setting there way too many absurd elements. You could argue author did it this way to make it more fun e.g adding more women around him and not letting him be a loner. But it was overexagerated how in the world is a mob comic relief living with 4 other beauties under the same roof?

Don't get me wrong the real review starts now, the reason I gave this four stars is because it is definitely a good story with depth and though the drama maybe lackluster right now it looks like the author is setting the groundwork for it.

What I absolutely like in this story that annoys me in many of the other I transmigrated as the side character and not the protagonist is the fact that our MC here does not commit alot in helping the protagonist and allows him to run his due course and the power progression seems to show that they would be neck and neck in strength. What I like is the thin balance between negating the protagonist and overly nursing him, I think this story works in that thin space.

[collapse]

Honestly I don't think we reached even the halfway point for this series so the rating could definitely change, and it mainly shows the potential of this story <<less

A cliche ero japanese novel with a MC. A lucky sukebe type of MC that slowlu evolves from a side character into a main protagonist (kinda). With limited but useful ability, he aims for the top in th magic school. His ability reminds me of MC of manga Hajimete no aku where he use his stole/muffler to move around like his arms. Has funny moments but lots of cliche. Even though it has a lot of cliche overused scenes, it is still a fun novel to read.

Well, it's mainly a harem+comedy story along with some chapters of MC showing his prior knowledge in dungeons. For people who do not like these kinds of tropey ecchi rom-com like stories they would obviously hate it. However I personally find it entertaining and entirely worth the time. It's worth a read.

Well. This novel is not gonna let you down. In my opinion, this novel is quite Good & Characters Development are worthy to get praise votes. Well, MC is still developing so we can still wait & see what kind of part leading. Author knows how to write mob characters but need a lot of solid facts about stuff like world or former MC. MC himself is like beta kid so don't hope that much bold scenes or using his brain. Mostly MC don't respond or reply his rumors. This... more>> novel is fun to read. <<less

This novel is pretty good but misrepresented a bit at the start which has probably lead to a number of bad reviews due to that fact.

The MC basically creates a harem and raises a number of flags for himself despite being unaware of flags being triggered by him no matter how obvious as he is continuously thinking that the original protagonist is THE protagonist so any flags and romance towards himself are impossible. (Despite diverging from the plot by quite a bit before the school arc even begins.)

If you... more>> disregard the obliviousness of the MC then this novel is a true gem akin to the reincarnated in an otome game novels only with genders reversed (Which I would say that this is the audience this novel is aimed at, if you do not like that genre you will most likely dislike this one.) the world is modern, with smart phones etc only with the addition of magic, dungeons and things such as elves yet for some odd reason still has nobles.

The characters so far are not particularly two dimensional and the interactions are somewhat believable if you get past the MC's sheer denseness and lucky pe*vert gag moments.

I would rate this novel 4-4.5 for the first arc, the dungeon stuff seems a bit forced and takes the direction of the novel into a weird direction I don't think it needed as far too much time is spent on it in later arcs just for plot progression (The novel would work better with the fluffy slice of life stuff with some small adventures rather than the forced foreign conspiracy and demon/demon lord stuff making it slice of life with action adventure which doesn't work very well in this setting.) all in all the latter part of the novel I would personally rate around 3-3.5 stars. <<less

Been reading a bunch of villainess LN's and this is a nice change of pace.

Translation is ok, might need a proofreader to go over again, but as far as story goes, it does seem to be a bit too cliche shonen stuff.

Tho the character MC transmigrated into is sad as f*ck lmao.

The story is surprisingly wholesome. Sure, if you hate ecchi or harem you won't like this as well. I personally enjoyed the four current volumes immensely.

The MC gets transferred into his favorite Eroge game as one of the male side characters who usually acts as a comic relief. However he enters a few weeks before the game starts and that leads to several changes of the story making him way more than the sidekick character by establishing bonds and acting seriously he leaves the hero whom he befriends nonetheless in... more>> the dust. His goal is to get the perfect ending by rescuing all the heroines (himself). And that means he needs to get strong fast.

With his knowledge about the world's dungeons and what treasures are within them he sets out to to become the strongest in the world. However since he changed the story in the beginning not everything plays out as expected. <<less

So far volume 1is satisfiably enjoyable to read the cliche Is being played out as an Eroge joke and the plot is, albeit still with little risk, are logical in nature, there's no deux ex machina power ups or anything like that,

Volume 1 also ended in a semi conclusive way for people who intend to do just a quick couple hours read through.

Although its the generic beta MC novel its kinda decent to be honest its just 3

The MC is like a shonen MC in a sienen world kinda weird tbh. When reading its kinda dull when ya got that big of a harem ya his in a ero game with tones of girl but the story randomly goes for realistic outcomes but when it comes to the MC meeting a new girl it suddenly becomes all cliche and all. The girls are like robots that are programed to all have the... more>> same personality except for 2 or 4. The reason I gave it a 3 and not lower is the way it was written ya know word per word is well done. But I cant really give it justice to the MC being to childish.

The plot ok good the girl are mhe but the MC's childish desire is bad or mabye its just the way the author express or writes the MC is bad the story overall is decently nice but overall its good and the MC is just the problem the story have some quirky ideas to make it interesting im tryin to no compare it with others but having a bad MC and has a bad knowledge of the game he got isekaid to is excluding the part when the game hasn't started.

Sayin that he always trains but only physical trainin with no magic with a large mana pool and yes even if the game he was playin doest say that character got cursed and cant use magic. I just think not even asking someone why he cant use it is something to be annoyed about

Its like a h**ny 13 YO normy playin some ero games got reincarnated to someone thats older that cant comprehend to what he should do apart from getting stronger but fails. And in some random cases a deferent personality kicks in and clears up the mess the other personality made

It's alright. It's a SoL eroge/rpg novel.

Like with many other JP novels, this falls apart in the 2nd arc. In the 1st arc we have an MC who is confused, yet determined to learn magic in this new wold. So he does, he learns magic in a few chapters and then he becomes a MC of an eroge game with RPG elements.

He is also very inconsistent. Half the time, he wants the original MC of the eroge to get together with the heroines, yet he constantly triggers flag with a... more>> few main heroines and a few side ones. Other times, he is like, 'whatever, I already changed the story of the game, why care now?'.

The RPG / battle stuff is serviceable, nothing new or exciting. (Yet to actually have a battle, other than the 1st, where the MC or side characters are in any danger.) <<less

i was expecting something different with the term of side character becoming the MC. But it just the same bullsh*t cliche harem but different protagonist. A lot of LELE PONS style "Comedy" and the female punching MC without trying to understand the situation and the same unfunny joke happens again and again.

Its ok. Its more-so on the side of 3 stars but I'll hold on that for now. It feels like a long introduction. The dungeon exploring is normal levels of engagement. Considering the dungeons thus far are all at easy levels, as mentioned by MC, perhaps some aspects of the novel will develop.

Its a Shounen, got to give it extra consideration for how slow things usually are in this genre. Especially since I don't know how long the author plans on making the novel.

Ah yes, the dude with the scarf.
It's sad that it got axed due to serialization.

My opinion, read at your own risk
Spoiler

Story 6/10. Just wtf was that, all over the place, it makes sense and kinda engaging but it just like an amalgamation of unexpected cliche (?)

Character Aside from MC 6/10, MC 8/10. Dude got some conviction. The girls, not so much, though I still don't know how it will progress so meh.

I swear its annoying when the premise is the MC reincarnating into a side character they make it all out to be a subversion but morph into a generic harem fantasy MC halfway. The only series that kinda does something similar that didnt tick me off is A Wish to Grab Happiness, mostly because the MC for that one is likable for me.
