MC never had the courage to confess to the guy she liked before she died, and now in her second life she's making it out like they had some undying eternal love. Gurl you didn't even confess to him, and if it wasn't for the power of plot-sama he probably would have rejected you even if you did confess.

MC acting all high and might, touting her "love" in front of ML. Kind of pisses me off. And her plan to help her divorce isn't exactly the most well thought out.... more>> She plans to spend all his money, and I don't know how she gonna do that when he is "the richest man eva." And I doubt the author will ruin her white lotus character by making her spend money recklessly without making her efforts seems charitable or good looking.

ML seems emotionally repressed and s*upid, which is ok, but he's not interesting enough to hold my interest. Romance between MC and ML would probably mainly consist of MC saying she is in love with another man (and if the powers that be are anything to speak of, ML is the man from her past life who she was in love with) and maybe feeling guilty when she develpps feelings for ML, and ML going, she loves another man, but I love her? What do I do? How can I make her feel the same way? What is love? Baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me no more. Also I am rich, and there is a curse plotline in there somewhere but who cares, because LOVE! <<less

Because I suck at writing reviews, I'll just tell you why I rated this 3 stars:

The main reason being the story just got wayyy tooooo draggy after a certain point. At first it was like, 'Oh, it's kinda interesting.' But then as I neared the 150 chapter mark, I was skipping huge sections of text (the chapters are ridiculously long) and I was stuck wondering when the main characters would stop with their misunderstandings and actually goddamned talk it out and stop being WHINY as hell.

Spoiler

For example, the ML has been cursed by a nymph (his mom) to be unable to walk during the daytime. So for a large portion of the story, it causes misunderstandings because the MC is like, 'wait, he never visits me during the daytime! Oh no, that means he doesn't like me!' *Starts the descent towards depression and hatred at ML and kicks up a fuss*. Then the ML completely doesn't understand why she's acting like that, and then 50 more chapters later when he finally gets why the MC is mad at him, he's like, 'Wait, but I can't tell her because I'm just way too proud and afraid of MC's rejection!' And so on and so forth.

The other most triggering point is that the MC had fallen in love with another guy before her time reverse thing, and so the drama is that she's "in love" with this other guy (she hadn't even confessed to him), and so she's refusing the ML's advances for like 150 chapters because she wants to remain "faithful". Like girl, OMG. I can't.

[collapse]

I guess I shouldn't say that the story was ABSOLUTELY horrible, but at one point, I just lost all my patience and couldn't deal with it anymore. If this book was shortened by like 100 chapters, I think I would have enjoyed it a whole lot more. <<less

Repititive and exhausting. I really truly want to know the plot and progression of the story but they repeat the same ban*l thing over and over again I want to bash my head in.

This book is a gem! .. Although I find the title doesn't give any justice to the story plot.

Anw, I like MC here. She was once an old lady who got reborn to her younger self. She was a person who is deeply affected by war. Thus, it's hard for herself to liking the Duke, the weapon inventor. I like how to author portray the MC. She isn't perfect, she is a human with weak moments. You'll know what I mean if you read it ;)

As for the Duke,... more>> I'm proud of his character development. I dislike his personality at first, but I can relate why he is so arrogant. He has lived his whole life with people boot-liking, trying to used him. So he's just drawing a line to Rubika. But as the story unfolds, he finds himself falling for Rubika and cares about her. He becomes the sweet doting husband, while Rubika tries to stick with her loves for Arman.

The question is where is Arman in this story?? or maybe who.. XD <<less

If you like creative, enterprising MCs you might like this novel.

If you like a story about a strong woman who changes people's lives and connects with other strong women, you might like this novel.

If you hate fashion, beauty, and cosmetic, you might... still like this novel.

... more>> (I'm not a fan of fashion, beauty or cosmetics, but in the context of this story, I enjoyed it a great deal.)

The structure is built around how a seemingly ordinary woman was able to bring about a ton of positive change to the world and the people around her from her generosity, love and creativity.

This is slice-of-life, VERY VERY daily life, so if you get bored of step-by-step business/building, then you should skip!!

The MC's golden finger is described as having a weakness and deep love for beauty, but that beauty isn't portrayed as vanity or self-centeredness. Instead, it's the kind of beauty of the soul where she finds beauty in unexpected things (or things other people have passed over as ugly) and tries to live each day to the fullest and staying most true to herself.

Spoiler

By doing this, she's able to bring beauty and confidence to all the people around her and let them shine with their own skills as a positive role model.

This is a praiseworthy perspective, especially in our extra-judgmental world of social media/instagram influencers/etc.

[collapse]

Yes, I agree that some of the secrets/misunderstandings/could have been shortened, but there wasn't actually a lot of filler in between the progression of the main relationship.

I would say that the romance takes a small backseat to the journey of the heroine in helping herself (to live a new life) and her country (to change its expertise and exports) from the destructive road that would have led it to ruin.

Every single day brought something new to our enterprising MC, so if you're the kind to enjoy reading about how a duchess spread her influence, started her own business, and slowly saved the world through her innovative ideas, then you're in for a wonderful ride!

Spoiler

The author is especially creative in weaving in ideas about inner beauty, external beauty/fashion, and how that might be able to change the economic situation of a small country to turn it away from war.

[collapse]

Spoiler

Plus there's a part near the ending where there's a small speech about not sacrificing in the name of love, a concept that goes against popular fiction!

This novel has that most rare of light novel writing gems - character depth. Throughout the story (yes, all 250+ chapters!) both protagonists never stop questioning their own actions and trying to decide what the right thing is to do in a world that sometimes doesn't allow you to quite choose the right thing. And I love it.

I would say that there are a couple little flaws in the story, such as how some of their decisions earlier on don't make objectively logical sense, and how later on the camera... more>> almost seems to move on from the main couple and to focus on their wacky friends. Despite the theme of imminent war, it also tends to lean toward a more light-hearted role; both protagonists are portrayed as brilliant in their own way, and they're really their own major obstacles for most of the book. Nothing ever seems to obstruct their business endeavours.

But these are all pretty small flaws, and don't get in the way of the fact that this novel has: a) a female protagonist with tact, a backbone, and a moral compass, b) a male protagonist with a backbone and a moral compass (notice how I left out tact there), and c) a story that has clearly been thought out beforehand and wasn't just made up on the fly as the author progressed.

So please read! :D I don't really feel like the summary and title really do justice to the story. <<less

This is one of the best novels I've ever read - including classic books. It has everything you want - respectful male lead who woos the female lead, friendships between women, the female lead has her own arc not just revolving around the ML, awesome women improving and moving forward society, the importance of self-love. Just amazing!

I absolutely love this story. It is so good!!! I love both the female lead and the male lead. The misunderstandings are hilarious rather than annoying. The plot flows well and it's well planned as well. Not stuff that just shows up for no reason just for a longer story. Honestly amazing and I can't recommend it enough

this is one of my top 3 favorites. I absolutely love this one.

Seriously one of if not the ABSOLUTE best returned to the past MCs in the genre- and I say that as someone who likes fantasy adventure more than romance (though romance is always a good thing).

Rubica is amazing, the ML is amazing, every single side character is amazing and well written.

5/5, I wish I could forget about this to reexperience the first read a million times over.

3.5 stars (can't decide if 3 or 4 stars bc I kinda annoyed in the 1st half but came to love the 2nd half of the story)

This is a good read, especially if your a fan of fashion and beauty.

However, you need PATIENCE... this could be better if the author shorten this. Readers need to be patient due to the 1st half being draggy and repetitive... BUT, after 130++ chapters, the story became more exciting, twists/secrets revealed, leads' relationship developed and the new characters like Ios, Minos, Gabriel, etc.... more>> made it more fun to read.

Spoiler

Better to skip some parts especially Elise's part bc I find the scenes repetitive and annoying.

The FL is the definition of having a "heroine halo" that no matter what she did, she will always be loved by everyone even when her actions and decisions were questionable. In the earlier chapters of novel, I initially find the FL annoying bc of her personality which is hypocritical, selfish, got creepy beauty fetish and kinda b*tchy esp to ML... but her attitude was explained later on and she even redeemed herself in the 2nd half of the novel. She changed everyone's life and even changed the economy and views of society with her contributions thus I ended loving both FL and ML.

Spoiler

At first, instead of using the marriage with ML who invented weapons to save the Kingdom and many lives, she chose to just have revenge by spending extravagantly which kinda made her selfish... but later on her beliefs changed and she warmed up to the ML thus helping him in finding ways to stop the war and lifting ML's curse

A thoughtful, wonderful, fun read.

Has great world-building, wonderful characters and a lovely mythology. Readers of Lucia will enjoy this, albeit less explicit, novel.

... more>> I had a lot of moments where I laughed out loud, but also lots of fluffy moments between them.

I love Rubika! She's mature, compassionate and kind, but isn't one to be easily bullied and is firm and strong on what she believes in. Although at one point she does give them up because she cares for the people around her. Definitely one of my favorite, if not the top, FL of all time.

I also love Edgar and enjoyed how the author wrote his character. I really felt his struggles (angst) and how he longed to be with Rubika during the daytime, but most especially during Rubika's lowest point, but couldn't. Ugh. Painfully beautiful. He seems like the typical cold, woman-hating ML, but there are reasons for that and the author explores it in such a lovely, heartbreaking way.

Edgar and Rubika are quite well-suited and I've enjoyed being taken on this heart-warming journey with them.

Spoiler

So many squee-worthy moments. Edgar is a true gentleman that respect Rubika and asks for her consent. Rubika is well aware of her weakness for beauty but still stands her ground. I basically enjoyed Edgar trying to squeeze every type of skinship he can get from Rubika. But I also liked how Rubika would take the first move every once in a while.

I think I just love these types of stories where the protagonists are already married but are still in the process of falling in love. <<less

I really love this story until I'm willing to give it full stars even though it wasn't perfect. The beginning of the story was remarkable and touching but I agree that this story was a bit dragging because there were many unnecessary scenes that had no effect towards the main story and characters were added. Also, I wish the ending could be more.

Spoiler

I want to see more of sweet scenes of MC and ML as a family not a scene where they're so busy working for the kingdom until they didn't have much time for their selves. It felt a bit unsatisfying although it's considered a happy ending.

I loved it!! It was a cliche story that's skeletal structure was a lot different from other cliche stories. Loved that the story started when the FL was old and grey haired. And something else I appreciated was the fact that she doesn't have miraculous abilities, her years (close to centaury) of observing beauty have simply made her able to see whats beautiful and what isnt, this gives her a vision that others doesn't have.
Spoiler

She cant come up with a design from scratch but improvise them.

[collapse]
was made is told as it is sold, and since the initial design wasn't for clothes she simply took inspiration from it and even credited her inspiration.

And I truly love the FL because I'm a lot like that, the way she described beauty, just everything is pretty living, non living doesn't matter and the presence of those that are more beautiful in your eyes is like a soothing balm to your soul, but not be mistaken with love. And she's very true to her self and does what she feels like, which we stan.

Now the ML, he's been traumatized, severely. And the author has added behavior that has resulted from that traumatization only. He is basically a severely lonely child. Now the trauma comes from his parents but for why things happened the way it did is explained in the end and made sense to me. But he isn't mean, if he is then its only been unintentional and he try's to rectify it as soon as he can and is a (bit scary) sweetheart and always respects the FL.

All in all, no misunderstandings that go past becoming funny to annoying, both characters act on their feelings, and there arent any illogical parts that you cant find explanation for, plus its complete and isn't slow or fast passed. And I dont want to spoil anything so go ahead and

heart warming story. It is pleasent journey to read into. I love FL as much ssince she is so kind yet strong on what she want. She also be someone who stand on her ground even if she has to face ML who is duke now. I have to mention ML as well, he has boyfriend material who spoil his wife endlessly. The plot itself is cute in many way. However, in my perspecttive, I gladly said that it is too long story. I hope author will shorten in to... more>> be only 100 chapter.
Spoiler

and I have to said, FL and ML has too much cute moment that make some point of story to be boring. I skip like 20 chapters and it still be on the same scene

[collapse]

Spoiler

another problem that I got from reading it is the effort of FL. It is trule that she wanna divoce ML as soon as possible, so she set the scheme to waste as much as muney ML got. Anyway, it turn out all money that she wast come to be things which support her fame endlessly. This kind of thing kept repeating and repeating in the story until I feel yawn.

[collapse]

Spoiler

if you wanna know when ML know FL, s true identity, it is on chapter 148. And like you can see on another reviewee, the story would be shorter, if both of FL and ML dont have some weird wat of thought. I means ML has known that he is the one FL is waiting for, yet he was not say it because he wanna win her over his future self. ML wasnt telling FL that he has been under curse and FL is the only key to help him because he has some face to save. FL wasnt say 'i love you' to ML because she wanna be faithful lady who love ML's future self dearly. The misunderstanding went on and on because they dont speak to each other. Like guy speak just speak!!

The plot is there, however, it all turned out VERY UNDERWHELMING. All the potential this story had gone to the unnecessarily long dressing and tea parts. The author obviously had a dragging problem...
You want to see some peaks throughout the story? No. There aren't any. When you read 200 chapters and finally reach the critical point it all goes to the garbage with that one new character.
Don't get me wrong, I loved him but... the usage of this character was annoying as hell. I also kept skimming the... more>> parts that Elise or Gabriel mentioned since they were connected to the dressing or tea party topics. UGH. The longness of those arcs was HIGHLY UNNECESSARY.

Edgar (ML) can have all the stars, I liked him. He was a bit rough at first but you get to like him not far after.
Spoiler

He, remembering everything in the end, made me cry a little... But this part was ABSOLUTELY s*upid: They chose to live a human life instead of being together FOREVER in the godland or whatever... What a dumb choice they made. I couldn't believe my eyes. Why would you choose to see your loved one's death a 2nd time when you could be together forever??

This feels like a romance and psychology novel. FL is a person of Loyalty and integrity. Her love is deep and grounded. This novel is a bit tiring, but the story is unique and beautiful. ML and FL are people who fell in love for a deep reason. A blind old grandfather and an old grandmother who dedicated their lives to war victims. This is a very unique and 'sacred' romance.

Tedious and silly. The ML is a 25 year old and is the greatest genius in the history of the country, but after kissing a woman and having his heart beat rapidly and seriously thinks to himself "I must have gotten a cold", because he is actually 8 years old for all practical purposes. This nonsense repeats itself every two chapters.

The FL is okay, but is also annoyingly dense about the ML, because otherwise how can the plot be dragged out ? At first, I was with her. Who would... more>> expect an adult male to act like an 8 year old ? But after the fifth time, surely one should catch on.

The repeating trope with the FL is that she is curious about stuff and appreciates beauty/good work so she always gets intersted in whatever any rando A likes doing, which results in rando A feeling appreciated and befriending the FL. It is fine, but this isn't done particularly well. I think I went through five or so of these encounters and they are too repetitive. You don't actually learn anything about that particular field, the charcters are almost interchangable, and so on.

The premise actually held promise, as it provided an explanation as to why a duke would take a random woman for a wife, but the childishness of the charcter interaction makes this unreadable to me.

There is also the curse, in a way it is a spoiler, but honestly it doesn't matter. I haven't read that far either. So the story is that the ML's mother is a magical fairy goddess and she fell in love with the father and they had the ML. Supposedly they were a loving couple for a long time, but when the ML is 22 he and the mother walk in on the father while he is with his mistress in bed. The father tries to say something, but the mother almost immediately kills him and the mistress, and then puts a curse on the ML and disappers, maybe dies.

After this the ML hates the father and thinks the mother was a saint. As far as I can tell, it is equally likely the father was basically a battered husband forced into this marriage under the threat of death by the "fairy". He said he didn't love his mistress, maybe as a last ditch attempt to save her life, even though she is significantly less attactive than the fairy and he kept the relationship for 10 years... The fact the mother curses the son who didn't even think of blaming her of anything is also not great. There are hints it isn't exactly a curse, but still. In any case, I don't think your spouse being disloyal justifies a mu*dering spree. I'm conservative that way. <<less
