Well, this novel is rather interesting. Somewhat rough around the edges, but it's good.

It reminds me of a simple version of Overlord, subtract the part where the MC is a skeleton (which can't have fun during the night). As I mentioned, a simpler version; it has similar traits, for example trying to make a country and become a king and so on.

But it's faster and a lot easier in this novel than in Overlord. The easiest example I can give is that Overlord writes a lot of details and nitpicks... more>> on every thing, which makes it slow paced. While in this novel, it goes rather fast with a moderate speed which is somewhat believable if you got his NPC on your side. <<less

If you are looking for something good to read this is not it.

If you are looking just a read to waste some time then this is it.

WARNING MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS BELOW
... more>>
Spoiler

If you want to enjoy this novel better throw common sense out the window and shut of your brain temporarily.

So the MC creates a country and already has managed to get a few nobles with teritory under his wings and what does our MC do? Nothing! Nothing at all!!! Your running a country for f sake use your brains!

He doesn't collect tax and he just builds houses and buildings for everyone for free. Well I understand doing it for the locals but for the others giving it for free also? Thats just s*upidity, you need money to run a country, you need officials, soldiers, civil servants, and many more down to the lowest worker. And you need money to pay fot the salary, no one works for free. Sure you and your group are op but that doesn't mean you can be everywhere at the same time, and interms of fighting you have around 200 people on your side how can you control the battlefield surely at least some can escape (unless ambushed ahead) then what if those escaped attacked your now undefended capital? Your f for short right? Now what if you had some soldiers on your own at least the number of escapee minimizes or even loss the possibility of escape.

There are many thins bothering me about this from the pov of kingdom building in mind, try reading release that witch for a better kingdom building if you want or the realist hero.

After all said and done it still manage to waste my time thus the rating

if you wonder what kind of novel is this ? then the answer is a complete MockBuster (more specifically a wish fulfilment type story) from Overlord (Maruyama Kugane).

oh why it's a MockBuster from Overlord (Maruyama Kugane)

because there's so many similiarities with overlord like

    • Overpowered Main Character which is transfered while he is playing the game into diferent world with his avatar as the Guild Master from his Guild in the Game.
    • Overpowered NPC which very Loyal to Main Character.
    • Main Character create a country.
but there's so many thing that different from Overlord which is the lack of

    • Awesome Plot which make you crave for the next chapter
    • Interesting Main Character which isn't typical BETA Japanese super kind MC.
    • Interesting Side Characters which make you want to know more about them.
    • Great Protagonist which is capable to think like an adult or atleast Gentleman
    • Great World Building like the explanation of how Magic and Class system work, Is there any previous Transmigrator like Main Character
    • Great Side Stories which make you interest with the Side Character or Main CHaracter's daily life.
oh and The MOST IMPORTANT thing which make me dislike and drop this Novel is the Bland Main Character, One Dimension personality of NPC which make it harder to remember which one of them and typical s*upid Antagonist with their useless babbling.

If you are an Overlord fanatic then never read this novel you will hate it and comment like others that this is another riff off pirated or something from overlord.

There are many novels out there with the same familiar or similar setting this include this novel. People may say that this is copying overlord but like I said that only for overlord fanatics. Since they love overlord anything that has a shadow of it with out a doubt will be judge by them as horrible.

But if you like overlord and... more>> watch it for fun then you will enjoy this novel.

Same as overlord MC was drag to another world with all his in game cheat that includes all the npc he created but unlike the overlord I like how this open minded way of thinking as going with the flow. I can say that what overlord doesn't have I found it on this novel.

Do not base the novel with the title since so far the title is misplace or it has nothing to do with the novel so disregard that. Same with the novel description its is plain B*LLSH*T.

In other words just imagine overlord x harem x comedy. The plot is not that deep and simple I rather read this kind of setting without to much deep scheming or political B*LLSH*T in it. The npc are also simple yet they manage to follow the I am so loyal attitude.

It's early for me to rate this but so far I enjoy reading this kind of novel. <<less

Well, it's another one of those wish-fulfillment stories with herbivore protagonists who gets eaten (sexually) and at times, even abused by his own subordinates. Series like this makes me wonder if the author is a hetare or a masochist.

That aside, the story progression and characters are very bland. Really nothing special about it and they introduced so many characters so quickly that you get overwhelmed by them. This made it hard to remember others with semi-regular appearances in the story. But I read this series in the first place because... more>> of the kingdom building and they just started on that, so my opinion might change after a few more chapters or arcs (hopefully not that long), hence, the 3-star rating. Though if the quality of the story (or main character) doesn't improve, I might drop the series then.

Only read if you got nothing better to do with your time. Or you're a sucker for whipped guys, I guess.

UPDATE: (1) How to say this. Pretty much all the enemies so far are s*upid? What I mean is, they're so aggressive and they don't even collect information first. They just go straight to attacking and having the tables turned on them and in the end they're all "OOHH DRAGON KNIGHT-SAMA!!". It's the same sh*t for all the new people he meets every single time. It's either they end up worshiping him right away or after they get beaten down pathetically. And some of these are high officials with important positions that needs to use their brains.

(2) For someone who decided to build a kingdom, I wonder why he never even thought about marriage or such. For sure, some s*upid nobles will send their daughters to have a connection with him. And now he's acting all dumbfounded and helpless when the idea of marriage with another country's princess is brought up. He was presented as someone that's more or less smart but he didn't even think this would happen? Wtf.

I have dropped this series. I'm so f*cking done. <<less

I think that people are comparing it too much to Overlord. The basic situation is very similar (OP player with a bunch of OP NPCs ends up in a world similar to the game but the inhabitants are much weaker) but the characters involved are very different and the mood/tone of the story is overall very light and fits more into the mold of "OP protagonist + game elements world + slice of life".

So a lot of the high ratings are people saying "It's like Overlord but the MC actually gets some night action is a good guy and so are his NPCs!" And a lot of the low ratings are people who read a bit further and said "It's like Overlord but the MC is a p*ssy and lets... more>> everyone walk all over him while showing off how rich and powerful he/his guild is to random strangers."

But really, it's just average "OP Isekai Slice of Life" and you should treat it that way. If you like that, you'll be able to enjoy this. I got tricked by the tags and name so I'm rating it lower. ¯\_ (°∀°) _/¯ <<less

So many people compare this novel with Overlord, which make sense since there is plenty of similarities, like for example the MC is OP and he has plenty of OP NPC that work for him and is loyal only to him and he then rule over a nation juz cuz he can but then that's where it starts to be different

in Overlord, a very polished and detailed Light Novel, things make sense because there is logic behind everything even if it is rather twisted, the characters, even minor one... more>> has depth, they have their own motivation and reasoning behind their action, you can clearly see their personality, in here, however, none of them exists, it is clear that the author lack experience or just common sense and general knowledge, little to no research is done and he just go with whatever comes to his mind without regard on whether it could actually work or not, one clear example is how he just build and give houses, building etc to his citizen for free, rly mate? And I don't see any detail about things like taxes, police and or just any kind of security personnel, civil official, etc etc, you know, things that make a country could actually work? This is not SimCity for god sake

still if you don't care about such detail you might still able to enjoy this, to me though, I just can't, if thing goes beyond reasoning it would bother me too much to actually enjoy anything, at least be consistent and or give a reason or logic even if it is fake and deliberate, the thing about fantasy is it has to be realistic enough to pull you in while also play with its own rule <<less

An Overlord-ish novel, which is good for me since I love that series. There's soo many similarities that it is impossible to not get that vibe from the very first few chapter. I mean, even the MC's first meeting is like the first chapter of Overlord. But overall, the story is very enjoyable. Relaxing so far. And I guess it is still in the middle of building the character.

Okay first thing first, Don’t compare this wn to Overlord, Please stop, stop it.

They has a similar concept, but the thing is, they’re both different WN, In the end what’s the point comparing the two?

Okay let’s start.

... more>> From the earlier chapters, the translation sucks, I mean literally. But It improves once it reach more higher chapters.

Well what do you expect It was a free translate, so don’t complain like It was the end of the world, better yet translate the damn thing on your own, like I do most of the time when the TL sucks.

Now from the story, I won’t beat around the bush.

Pro.

World Building - 5/10

Action - 6/10

Plot - 5/10

There’s some arc that are enjoyable, the action is there, It was well emphasize on the details, when it comes from fighting.

World Building, Is so-so for me, I mean the MC really doesn’t know a thing when It comes from founding a country. Well what do you expect from a regular otaku, I think the main point of it was to make the character more like ‘real’. At the same time, some of the personality traits of the writer being putted inside of the MC. Which I find s*upid, but most of the time, I encounter something similar, from every JP wn so I tend to ignore those facts.

Con.

1. Contradiction is high.

2. Hypocrisy is on the different level.

3. The worst part, Is from time to time, the disgusting fetish of the writer was kicking out. To be exact the writer likes being cuckhold.

4. A wish-fulfillment wn.

I won’t be giving a synopsis about above mentioned cons.

If you want to know, you better read it for yourself, because once I do, this might not turn into a whining rather than a review.

I will only leave this as a head ups, from those bored enough, not know what to read next.

It was fine, as long as you have the right mind set, once you read this wn, but if you’re expecting something big, then this isn’t for you.

So overall It was 4/10. <<less

When I read this I imagined the author to be some middle-schooler who liked Overlord so much that he decided to make a fanfic. Why fanfic? That's because it's just way too similar to Overlord. Everything from the introductory plots to the occupation of the MC in the original world, or the relationship between the MC and his subordinates. Everything is just like an inferior copy. The only different aspect is that the MC is human instead of undead. As for why I imagine the author to be a middle... more>> schooler: the writing quality is just that bad. The mediocre translation quality doesn't help much, but it's also easy to see that the original quality was below average at best. Whether it's the lack of descriptors or the almost nonexistent transitions, I can't imagine this to be the work of someone 16 or older.

All in all it's not the worst series on this site, but that's only because 99% of it's good points are plagiarized from Overlord. <<less

No it's not similar to Overlord.

If you are looking for a great isekai novel this isn't it. This novel should be read if you are bored and have nothing else to read. Seeing this novel being compared to Overlord absolutely baffles me. Except for the MC being super op, creating a kingdom and coming from a game with his NPC characters, they are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. So dont assume this novel will have much in common with Overlord. This is the story of an op MC doing whatever... more>> he wants in a new world that is to weak to oppose him.

(Also, @darkzeta, you must be reading a different novel because Ainz isn't a "douche". He may have allot of flaws to complain about but "douche" isn't one of them. You can't look at things from the moral perspective of the humans in Overlord. Anyways enough of that as I could I go on for days about that.)

Spoiler

Description

The novel starts with the MC being transferred to a new world along with his guild of NPCs which number in the hundreds. After arriving in the new world he, with the help of his op NPC guildmates, founds a kingdom. We follow him living day to day with his guild members while using his op powers to get rid those who would get in the way. The novel is mainly slice of life with harem while adding some action here and there to show off their opness in their new world.

As per the harem tag the story has allot of s*x (though not described in heavy detail) with allot of different woman. Personally I don't mind all the females falling in love with the MC and having s*x with him on a regular basis as it comes with the harem genre. If you don't like the genre you probably won't like the novel to much.

Pros

To be honest I found it hard to find allot of pros to this novel because most of it is just fairy average. I like the initial setting and some of the side characters are pretty cute. Admittedly I love Moe things so I can be a little biased. Also I think it should be mentioned that, in my opinion, the novel gets a bit better after around the halfway point.

Cons

Now moving onto the main portion of the review. The plot moves crazy fast yet super slow at the same time. What I mean is that everything he does takes forever and mundane events are stretched out far to long but at the same time he created a city, builds a country, wins a war, and more within a fricken week. Over the first dozen or so chapters you are bombarded by so many characters that, other than the most important few, you will have no frikken idea who is who even though the novel treats you like you should know. Some side characters have decently interesting personalities but allot of them kind of overlap with each other, are boring, or are only mentioned once and not heard of again until they are briefly mentioned later in the story.

The biggest failure of this novel is the MC. He's bland, forgettable and makes some really dumb mistakes. For instance he mentions one chapter about keeping his base a secret then literally brings hundreds of foreign soldiers and a super shady Noble to his "secret" hide out the next day. So much for his super secret base. He even spends crazy valuable resources (some of which have supposedly nearly gone extinct in this world) as if he has infinite amounts of them, on a fake castle so no one will find his real base...... except he just fricken exposed his real base's wearabouts to hundreds of people the previous day. He builds an entire city which is kind of understandable, seeing as their citizens need somewhere to live, but then pretty much gives resourses for free to people who will never be able to pay him back. There must be some really hard working NPCs that we don't know about working in the background otherwise how else could his "kingdom" run so fricken smoothly despite him knowing nothing about politics and doing things that would normally be extremely disadvantageous to his kingdom in the future. Just having op strength doesn't mean a kingdom will succeed.

[collapse]

At the end of the day this novel is mediocre on many fronts and, in my opinion, fails when it comes to the MC. If you can suspend your disbalief at some of the decisions the MC makes than this can be an average novel that is used to read when there isn't anything else. If you really like isekai novels with op character and harem elements than give it shot. <<less

When I first began to read the story, I couldn't help but notice how much it reminded me of Overlord.

I know if handled well, it was going to be a good story.

Unfortunately the Author has no idea what he is doing.

... more>> The MC is pathetic, he lets everybody walk over him despite having power.

We don't get to hear a name of a place until nearly 10 chapters in.

None of the characters introduced are interesting and those who are, are ruined several chapters later.

I honestly have no interest in learning any characters name because there is too many of them that only appear once.

I see absolutely no reason to care about the MC or what is happening in the book so I often find myself skipping chapters because of how boring it is.

Who wants to read about an MC who's has s*x every night?

The fight scenes are a joke and not worth investing into.

This story gives off a slice of life reboot vibe and if tv has taught us anything, is that its rear for that to exactly be good and comes across as a cheap cash grab.

If you want something exactly worth reading then read Overlord, don't waste brain cells reading this. <<less

I can't call this a good story. It is almost definitely a Gary Stu wish-fulfillment self-insert story. Yet the author shows enough self-awareness to poke fun at his story avatar on a regular basis, helping to save the story. Every time I think of dropping the story, the author pokes a needle at the bubble of hubris that was forming, leading to somewhat hilarious outcomes.

In theory, the MC is building a country. In practice, I can't see it as anything but the country building itself under the MC, with the... more>> MC only going with the flow and only able to take enough action to keep his head out of the water. He's so OP he makes kingdom-building slice-of-life-ish.

There are reviewers who complain that this isn't Overlord. To me, this is a good thing. I dropped Overlord because the MC is a villain. The MC in this story starts out somewhat similarly to Overlord's MC - overwhelmed by circumstances and put on a pedestal by his followers - but never develops the mean streak that made me drop Overlord.

This story is a light-weight read. To me, it's a lighter-weight kingdom-building version of Satou's adventures in Death March. It's arguably around the level of the Smartphone story, just a little more adult, though the adult scenes happen off-screen - hinted at, sometimes heavily, but never explicitly stated.

There is no melodrama here. It's just a 5 to 10 minute read of a straightforward but not childish story to help me forget the troubles of real life. Not everyone's cup of tea, but exactly what I need. <<less

I'm sorry to say I couldn't find anything worth the time in this novel.

Many other reviewers have mentioned the similarities to Overlord, and it's true. If you've read Overlord, chances are that you have thought "What if it was me, what kind of guild would I have, what sort of adventure would unfold?". That's what seems to have happened here, and the author decided to write it down. Unfortunately he failed to reproduce any of the reasons that made Overlord good.

The plot: Guy falls asleep while playing, wakes up in... more>> another world with his guild and NPCs, decides to found a country. You will see lots of templates and plot devices you can spot from afar. Typically MC says "Let's do A" and chances are that A is done by the end of the next chapter thanks to his OP guild members who excel in every field. No buildup or challenge of any sort is presented at any point.

The world: Counties are just a bunch of names that exist somewhere. There's no map, no history, no specialities or anything. We know there's been a dragon knight in the past thanks to our MC apparently being him, but not what he's supposed to be or what the original did. That's the entire worldbuilding. The author doesn't seem to think too much about anything he's writing either. For example,

Spoiler

Apparently a country just happened to have 80k troops within a few days of march of another country just idling around. Either the country was tiny, in which case the number of troops is ridiculously high, or they had some transportation that wasn't mentioned, or even likely considering how low level the world is.

[collapse]

The characters: Might as well go with cardboard cutouts. Guild NPCs fall just a step short of literally worshiping the MC. They have no significant personality, and since a bunch of them were introduced at once you don't remember the name-race-profession combo. Don't expect any character growth or details about their background either. Essentially all new world characters are either good if they acknowledge the awesomeness of the MC, or bad if they're stereotypical bad characters who have poor personalities and anger management issues. The bad guys are seriously terribly written

Spoiler

A part of my country wants to establish their own? Send the army that was in the previous spoiler. The army was destroyed? It must be a fluke, gather a bigger army of s*aves and mercenaries. Oh gee, you couldn't, say, send someone to find out what happened? Not a semblance of intelligence makes you doubt the quality of the future villains. And that's without going into the inconsistence of building the new army had.

[collapse]

MC: Your typical self-insert wish fulfillment MC without personality. He's powerful, rich, thinks of the wellbeing of his subordinates, makes the right choices and the girls compete who get to sleep with him. He didn't show any real concern about being thrown in another world, at least on the scale you'd want to emphatise with, nor did he give another thought about killing tens of thousands of humans. Even Ainz acknowledges that he should feel something but this guy? No. There are also MANY scenes of him showing off his power and wealth in some form and the others praising him for being such awesome person.

Spoiler

"The attack that reshaped the mountain? I can fire 100 at the same time." "Mithril is rare? You'd need orihalcum, mithril is such a boring metal I plated the outhouse with it." "The legendary dragon? My weaker guildies went for practice and now it's sleeping in a dog house in front of my castle." and so on.

[collapse]

Overall, you get what the novel title says and that's it. It's a supposedly serious story without hardship or challenge with an overpowered MC against incompetent villains. There isn't anything interesting here, be it characters, world or plot. You might enjoy it if you're into B-movies or cringe, otherwise steer clear. <<less

The MC is tr*sh. A God who wants to be treated as a equal Human. Some even take advantage of his 'Kindness' that we see in typical JP protagonist. But when he ACTUALLY fed them! That was one of my breaking points. They clearly don't deserve such luxurious meal. In end he handles nothing properly and it escalates to a bigger problem. His fear of killing and his fear of standing up for himself and NPCs. Even the girls control his actions.

Ill just name a few examples in the... more>> Spoilers. This is not the whole enchilada.

Spoiler

—-For no reason at all he goes to 'Adventure Guild' there he's looked down on and shows no shred of intelligence. Treating Wolf Guy as a equal all the sudden.

——Hes looked down on by Noble (s) the NPCs get enrage and it's obvious they deserved to die. But MC forcefully suppressed them because he's afraid of killing.

——-People honey coat their words and MC falls for those sweet words.

——-The Princess doesn't deserve to be Queen no matter how you look at it. She's a mundane girl and he had been through countless battles. Suddenly her position higher then the NPCs. Just a girl fantasizing and the naive MC who fulfilled her wishes.

———He calls himself a Parent despite having slept with them. He still is indecisive on how to look at them even after having s*x with them.... Are you f*cking serious? Then why did you commit the 'deed' if your so unsure?

These are just a few and the list goes on. It's simply obvious that one can't have a prosperous country without suppressing with violence. Every country for their own benefits, why should he care? Just suppressed them all with power.... He doesn't realize his position and heads at it like a common person.

[collapse]
At least the Author tries to acknowledge these issues, I'll give him that. But he's trying to make the MC look good when he doesn't act cool at all. Literally a child with a gun. <<less

This is basically an overlord rip off with minor changes.

Spoiler

The guy created his guild and the Characters in it while overlord did the same thing but with the help of his guild mates.

The guy goes and saves a crappy village shortly after being transported to the world... just like overlord.

The guy and a few of his created npc's go and register to become adventurers and are given a high rank fairly fast... just like overlord.

Most of his female npc's want to bed the beta MC and end up raping him constantly. In Overlord some of the Npcs want to bed him as well, but he doesn't have the correct bone for the job. If The MC from overlord said no to something the people under him would respect him and do exactly as he says.

So in short this is a version of overlord but the MC is a beta both mentally and physically.

Over powered from the start? What does it matter if most if not all the people under him are stronger and don't respect him?

One last thing. The title doesn't make sense. A week and possibly a month in the story has passed by since I started reading and the MC has yet to form his own nation or even start to think about forming one. I pretty much started reading for the kingdom building and this upset me the most.

[collapse]

Also like I have said before on other stories on this site. There is no such thing as reverse r*pe. r*pe is r*pe. I know plenty of women in my life that id say no to s*x with and id be pretty devastated if they r*ped me. Some of them are probably strong enough to do so as well. Not all women are small and cute. <<less

I won't recommend this to those who search for kingdom building novel.

Like what other reviews mentioned, this novel is so shallow. No character development, no plot twist (you can predict the plot easily), Everything was build in an instant, war being won in an instant, Every character reaction to MC and his subordinate is always the same (meet -> underestimate -> angry -> beaten by MC -> "woooow")

No complex economy, no complex politic.

Well, I still give it 2 star since it is still enjoyable if you read it mindlessly... more>> in spare times <<less

An Overlord rip-off.

[collapse]

This story is not for serious readers. If you wanna read, then do it if you have time to waste. In other words, its a waste of time. It's not that good, plot 2/5, characters 2/5, and world building 2/5. I was hoping for some interesting developments but nada~. I gave the story a chance in case in would become a little better on the later chapters but... oh well.

There's nothing new that you haven't seen already if you've read a few stories with game elements, transported into another world, and OP protagonist tags on it. <<less

dumbed down version of overlord. Only good for casual mindless read.

The MC is a typical japanese dream, having s*x with his servants every night, destroying armies easily, having a city build within hours.

Theres little political nor in-depth economy empire building. The MC just demonstrate his overwhelming power and poof, the nobles join him, the merchants set up shop in his kingdom, and the people idolize him as god. Ezpz

Basically Overlord get dumbed down and given some comedy.

Too many character introduced all at once, still okay, but most of them just doesn't have any distinction. Pacing is decent, but the world building was shallow.

I don't know if it's the author or translator, but there is just some paragraph or sentences that doesn't make sense and also they way author / translator narrate is just plain bad.
The progress of world building just doesn't feel right, just rushed without any decent thought. I have no problem for the world building... more>> to be rushed, I just don't feel the end result is good enough.

This might be a bit biased, but this is totally a dumbed down overlord with moe chara. The only thing this novel does better than overlord is the MC get laid, everything else is inferior.

I can totally read this novel and follow it, but not gonna recommend it. <<less
