I feel peoples are too harsh on her, and didn't really consider her position in both first and second life. First of all... why Rhia in first life choose her mother in law over her husband. Well, we know the MIL is a bit*h but she don't. Also... from Rhia's perspective, it makes a lot of sense for her to feel more at ease with someone who treat her gently and also a mother at that. While ML outright r*pe her during their wedding night, no consideration for her comfort whatsoever.

Rhia is a weak and meek woman in the first place, this is how she is raised. Of course she would be traumatized and think the worst of her rapist. I am not excusing her mistakes but with this kind of setting in first life, I can't see how she would trust Igor over her mother in law.

Also even bigger mistake in second life, Rhia seek peaceful life overseas. Away from pain in the past as best as she could, then he goes and "force" her to return as his queen again. This is the same as forcing trauma victim to relieve the worst time in their life. It's weirder for her to not regress. Rhia even mocked herself to do worse than animal, as even beast wouldn't go to the same path that almost killed them. This is not about her pride, ego or pettiness, it's simply primal fear of death for her to loath being Igor's wife and queen.
Also don't forget Igor, in spite of his 'kind' intention and love for her is still the "king" and she is "hostage"- queen. The position between this pairing is skewed against Rhia, he has power over her but she doesn't. Just like in their past life, she is in no position to defend herself from him in her head. That contract barely works as warranty for her safety.

See her wish after leaving Arundell, peaceful life with no marriage, no kids- and he shatter all that plans. Even by the end ML himself admit, he is the one who drag her back to royal life she never wanted.

by latest chap I read, Rhia didn't blame Igor but she still want to leave. This is nothing against him, yeah- it's selfish and not considerate for him at all. However Rihanna's mental calculation at that moment really give me a pause, there's no justification she is doing the right thing even in her head. It's blatantly, "I don't know if I can survive more political mishap and danger if I stay with him as queen."

It's plain fear for her life and her baby. She does want to stay by his side basked in his love, but she also feel the need to be free and not fear the danger of being his queen and traumatized all over again by their past life.

This is not justifying right or wrong Rhia did, I just wish my fellow reader try to make sense of her emotional turmoil and why she do what she did.

this is actually the second chance for Igor, not Rihannan. He is the one who should be and is changing their fate. It was he who wanted a second chance to atone for his sins and mend the wrongdoings of the past. Not Rihannan. Rihannan does nothing wrong in wanting to live a peaceful and happy second life.
