This novel starts promising but feels disappointing later on. Every arc can be summed up with another developer is coming out with a game and MC comes out with his game the same time. He gets praised and throws in one update to the game. After that he never touches the game again. Rinse and repeat. The same can be said for esports games as he does one tournament then it's only mentioned as that game he did.

It's literally IRAS but in game form. Countless developers are always picking fights... more>> with the MC by competing in games. All in all I began skimming especially the dumb Pokemon go arc and now dropping it as the formula got stale with no character development at all. <<less

The review is my thoughts streamlined into two types as it suited this book; the book itself, and the author's critique.

Book:

It's one of the more low-effort types of genres written in a... 'convenient' way. Never will the protagonist have any issues, and I would be fine with a free-ride as well. Yet the conflict and drama are circumvented with convenient solutions, such as ignoring all the other viewpoints and saying 'they're all just his fans so it's cool lol', when in reality - the world isn't as simple as the... more>> author had written with the few brain cells he had managed to squeeze together when waging for a few f*cking RMB in some sweaty ass internet cafe.

Okay... that got a bit heated as I thought of the book and it's sub-par quality, even in comparison to the other works of similar cheap wish fulfillment.

Basically; nothing has depth in the book. The author has no style he knows to stick to and almost nothing is planned. Even until the end the system isn't explained fully, nor is the pace constant or reasonable within the context of the subject. The pace and style of writing are in a constant state of fluff and exposition; f*cking s*upid.

I enjoyed the first few hundred chapters since it wasn't too bad and I couldn't bother to read anything else at the time, but that was all the enjoyment I managed to muster from the sorry piece of sh*t one could perhaps even mistake as a work of literature.

Author:

The most nationalistic; pro-CCP; ignorant pretentious shit.

Just a few examples I'm remembering off the top of my head:

    • He got offended when he thought of how Batman had trespassed Hong Kong (CCP) air-space in the movie Dark Night.
    • The whole world view is twisted; China GOOD, USA BAD!!
    • At one point he brought GTA into the parallel universe... and just let me tell ya... it was the perfect display of ignorance as the whole arc had been subverted into the fight of communism vs. capitalism inside the author's head; every chapter was about how the capitalists are bad, and how China is the perfect place to live and how the USA was full of guns and gangsters and you couldn't even walk the streets without being shot.
    • 'Rose-tinted glasses'; China's portrayal in this work was the most pro-CCP one could write. There was nothing about the 'guanxi' culture (favors and bribery) ; it had been completely scrubbed from the work, and I might as well add that the CCP is a shareholder of EVERY Chinese company with a great economical impact... yet... you might have guessed already... the author had conveniently forgotten about it.
    • One could peer into the author's mind-space through the written work, and I can only conclude that he is truly; most certainly; indisputably the most ignorant nationalist that thinks only through the propaganda spoon-fed by the absolute tyranny of CCP. The man really seems to know only games and the lies of their oppressive regime he so truly loves.
Conclusion:

Some of you might wonder:

"But why, oh Macho did you read the novel to the end? There must be redeeming qualities as well?"

Let me conclude my thoughts in this segment: I somewhat enjoyed the thought of a parallel universe without many of the games we had grown up, and how the world might react to the games I personally feel strongly towards. Hence, it was the only thing keeping me reading... for the first 500 chapters at least. After which I read only to conclude this horrid piece of work, and as I fared further into the depths of MTL of grueling quality, I found myself simply hoping for the end. I skimmed most of the chapters yet I felt I missed nothing.

Absolute-f*cking-garbage piece of work. Don't even think of reading it. I miss the brain cells I've lost and the time wasted in the progress. <<less

for the people who haven't read a chapter yet. this is an MC like I am really a superstar. He goes to an alternate world where the gaming industry is far behind ours and literally just copies the games from this world and makes them there. He gets challenged..... blah blah.... he beats them and repeats.

I enjoyed this novel a lot. But it gets repetitive after a while. This is how it goes, mobile games.... switch-like devices which he creates.... pics and finally into virtual reality. The virtual reality had... more>> a lot of potential but it was never used. He makes f*cking overwatch on VR and almost never touches it again.

But it still a good read if you got a lot of time to waste. hope this review was helpful <<less

It's Pretty Good novel, but the main problem for me is like this

1. MC Create lot of games, from our world, after that the game that remarked as master piece, but after creating them MC just mentioned and skipped there is no detailed info about the development of that game

2. MC Create/Copy bunch of amazing games, but they almost like full copy from our world, with disadvantages almost intact. 3. MC always want to stick the plot of gameplay the original game, and never want to create something new about that game. For example: After creating Warcraft and Full lore of Azeroth, MC wants to create League Of Legends, even though MC can add original heroes from warcraft like Malfurion, Thrall, Arthas, etc and combined them with LoL heroes, he choose not to.

Just like that, MC Has full rights to these awesome games franchise
Spoiler

1. God Of War

2. Warcraft

3. Diablo

4. Dark Souls and Bloodborne

5. Super Mario

6. Prototype

7. Monster Hunter

8. Ark Survival And PUBG

9. Legend Of Zelda

10. GTA

11. Uncharted and Last Of Us

12. Infamous : Second Son

13. Plant Vs Zombie

14. Assassin Creed

15. Resident Evil

16. Minecraft

17. Ovewatch

18. League Of Legends

19. Detroit Become Humans

20. Silent Hill

And bunch of indie game and some games I forgot (I don't know why the author didn't create Classic Metal Gear, Elder Scroll and Fallout).

MC Also create Batman and Ironman

[collapse]

When I read the stories I thought that MC will use his rights, to create some sequel for the games that never happen in real world, or to create more game based on awesome movies.

This novel is super fun, but it can't get 5 stars.

I like the story so far and translation is great and comfortable to read.

The MC is not too op just because his system and the game he create purely of hard work, and the help of organization of the world where he live now.

Just like the description the novel is about the world with advance technology but undeveloped game concepts like program, PC, smartphone and VR with up to date technology but the game just so so.

I'm looking forward to the continue of the story

The translation is great and the novel looks very interesting so far

It have a system similar to 'iras'

The MC adaption was fast but I think its a good choice, to move the story forward instead of having the 'i need to go home depression scenario'

Gave it 5 stars for its good promise, and I'm looking forward to see what games the MC devolpe

While slightly entertaining the novel suffers SEVERAL error.

The system is a joke, it's a let's be cheaty just because, of course it also has a gacha system and usual kind of shit, not even mention the stats that it has.
The games that he develops suffer from a few problems. PvZ has waaay too many US nuances to be made by a Chinese (a game dev can hide nuances from other countries sure but the game is full of them, also it has a few jokes that has to do... more>> with our culture, if the world is different they won't be understood). Also, the, supposedly, most pirated game in Chinese history
The second game (and first absolute break in logic) is "I am MT", a game directly related to and based on WOW but, WOW DOESN'T EXIST. He creates an anime to try to explain the nuances however it's not really believable.
The plagiarism and theft of ideas that he suffers from other companies (as he is doing from games and as Chinese have done over the years with tons of things, "I Am MT" for example) doesn't affect him at all.
Author has little to no true knowledge about game development and it shows glaringly. One specific point (may be because of a mistrantranslation) is Numerical Value stat and it's importance. It's the catch all phrase that it's used to justify everything however that is wrong. The proper term is BALANCE and while it affect numbers is not just damage and armor. Balance has to do with a lot of things that affects the whole game from positioning (which is not a numerical value) to many other things, worse of it is that balance is never perfect and you can't properly balance everything (see corncob strategy on PvZ, the only plant strong enough to reach higher difficulties simply because they are stronger than others).
It's also filled with s*upid and useless face slapping seen in many Chinese novels and quite a few other tropes.
Not recommended for normal people except those who want to know more or actually know about game dev, that way you learn all the don'ts and s*upid things/myths so you don't do them. <<less

This is so good. There's romance but it doesn't take a large part of the story. The MC, oh my gosh I love him. He's not annoying, not greedy, have the ablity to plan every step catefully, not rude, not lusty and rational. Although he copied games from the original world but he also has talent. There're also differnt feedbacks from the players and that made the novel very enjoyable. (Sorry if my grammar is wrong.)

At the beginning this novel was really promising, there was character development and the way the story described how the games were made and introduced into the world was fun. But later in the story it started getting stale, there was basically no development in the ML real life, the games were just added into the world and it was just celebrated as a masterpiece and that was it. Even the romance was subpar, didn't even know the ML and FML got together in the first place.

In summary, fun read... more>> in the beginning, but later on it was just a novel about plot of games and fictional characters reaction to them with little to no plot anymore. <<less

Same Plot, Repetitive, In VR Time He Was Developing Mobile and Pc Game, If He know then in our world we want VR Game, which like novel. So he need to just create one VR game and shocked the world.

But like other transport novel issue, he just copy the idea of real world and paste in parallel world. Then it can do anyone, what the use of MC is a game designer.

I think author want to fit himself in MC and want to take credit of all the good game... more>> for himself, which he can't do in this real world.

Last point, nearly after 40-50 chapter, you get bored, because lack of imagination. And the most s*upid point is, the game developer not openly argue with some gamer on weibo which shows in novel.

Even you have seen the developer of Free Fire and Pubg was arguing with each other, it all the shows the low thinking of author. <<less

To review this novel... hmm...

Basically, I just read this to pass the time. There were even moments that I stopped reading this for days and switched to another novel and then return to this to make it seem "fresh" to me.

It's your typical OP MC that travels to a parallel world that has differences from the world the MC came from and then he conquers the world with a system, although the system here is not very prominent.

It's writing is readable in mtl, but most of the work is just... more>> describing gameplay and game mechanics, which if you don't know or like, then you skip it. Sometimes there are entire chapters dedicated to the gameplay of a specific game (for example WoW) that I just skimmed and skipped.

I just powered through the end because I was curious how far the author thought of what the future of the game industry and related technology is. That part was interesting to me, as well as how it developed even though most of the development in technology was made by "others".

It was interesting to see how the author tackled the differences between mobile, pc, virtual reality (vr), augmented reality (ar), and the vr that was like transmigration (idk what its called in english but the translated version was second generation vr), and how the author solved the gameplay problems when transferring specific games to different hardware.

All in all, it was enjoyable and not very brain burning but it gets stale after a while. <<less

This has standard transmigration-with-a-system set-up but without any bizarre flirting or excessive creepiness. The series is easy to read, and the MC is likable.

All of the characters are quite flat in design. The MC has a history as a game producer in his original world and has a couple of friends from college in his new world, but he doesn't have any other background, hobbies, interests, or family members mentioned.

The story development is weak. The MC uses his cheat system to copy and recreate successful games from his original world... more>> and make money off of them in his new world. There is no inspiration in creating these games and no creativity in playing them. There are limited descriptions available. It feels like the author was unwilling to design any original games or describe them to make the readers become immersed in the experience.

The world background is just an AU China. This far in the series, he isn't interested in hiring a translator, so he could make his games famous around the world and only wants to make them famous in China. Like, what?

Overall, this is an easy, light read, but it doesn't stand out. I'm not willing to use coins or fast-passes for this series. <<less

Well, the system was fairly interesting (boosts behind gacha rolls that required the world's currency to operate.)
However, all that is wasted on the story where it's just an endless one-upping contest of who's better. MC is rather bland and is basically an example of isekai MC curse, a.k.a being oblivious of the girls in his harem.

It's a bit nationalism, Which is ok for me but the repeatedness and face slap is so high that it's boring he has no set back he always win and he always throws the game he create aside to make a new game that's all no proper enemy no loss no tension it's like "I am really a superstar" that's all it's enjoyable if your looking for light read with a faceslapping story !!!
