An unknown parcel arrives to Yoshio, a 30-years old NEET. The content is a game disk titled “The Village of Fate.” A beautiful CG game with real-life images gets started.

All of the villagers in the game are high-performing AIs, who strangely behaved like human beings. In that game, Yoshio is the god of destiny and will be in a position to guide the villagers. But what can be done in the game is only to give a message, a prophecy, once every day. The villagers will execute the instruction, and their gratitude becomes the power of miracles, that the god of destiny can use.

Yoshio is worshiped as God but in reality he lives like a shut-in. Thanks to villagers he will again learn the joy of life and thanks to him the villagers will be saved.

An awesome novel! The concept is really cool never read one like this before.

The plot is really enthralling and the MC change for the better makes you wish for his success, and it's done with the right pace.

Also the author is trying to help Neets and Shut-ins by writing this story <3

Solid Slice of Life story, with some heart warming moments after the build up. Looking forward to more (hopefully constant releases).

The novel at the beginning is essentially about a loner that starts playing a game that gets him to be more invested in his life and relationships. Seeing his growth and how the game affects his is one of the best parts of the novel. The other best part is the village building aspect and the use of the video game to improve the village. My biggest problem within the first thirty chapters is that the author will set up a cliffhanger at the end of a chapter but you... more>> don’t see the interaction and there is a small time jump. Not a huge deal but it was pretty frustrating because it was interactions that I wanted to see.

However I ended up dropping the novel because there is a reveal within chapters 30-50 that diminished my excitement in the series. From 50-55 it started to get pretty bad and was going a whole different direction than I was expecting. There’s no MC character development or village building and instead focuses on something else entirely for way too long. This novel falls into the trap of having a great start but collapses onto itself when it tries to explain what the game is.

TLDR; Chapters 0-25 are terrific and a good 8/10. 30-55 for me personally are terrible because the reasons for why I enjoyed the series are pushed aside in favor of a boring plot development that I didn’t like. This is a personal preference and so maybe you will enjoy seeing your expectations be subverted. <<less

I enjoyed it. It's unique... I think

It's isekai and not at the same time. The family and NPC are lovely and so is Destiny.

So far it feel like there is more "Evil" than "good" Gods and it feel like so unbalanced.

The village is keep getting attack and the resurse from the "npcs" world is not enough so MC have to work to get money to help npcs.

A nice relaxing novel, with a focus on character growth more than the specifics of kingdom building. Most of the drama is from human conflict, but there is a clearly defined 'good' side. There are grammar issues, mostly around pronouns and plurals, but I found it to be generally an easy read.

I kinda want to drop this after reading chapter 59, ... more>>
Spoiler

So the MC is transferred to the village world, but he still can use his phone for call and searching stuff on the internet, and he really wants to help the villagers. Soo guess what our smort MC choose to do? He's helping building fences or other physical work lul. I was speechless how could he is so ret*rded to do help with physical work with his weak body while he got tons of how to build stuff or another knowledge at the palm of his hand smh. He could teach the villagers to craft a crossbow or something, but noo, me build fences, me helping, what a ret*rd.

Pretty damn good, I'd say.

It's for sure not a fap fantasy for real life NEETs and shut-ins. You could call it a NEET shaming novel, but honestly, I'd rather read this than another dumb sh*t isekai slow life with a NEET protagonist. The protagonist is actually trying to improve himself, rather than just randomly restart and somehow end up some OP/socially adjusted/well-liked guy.

You could maybe call it overdramatic at times, but the plot for sure progresses. And I really don't know if you could call his growth unrealistic. Perhaps unrealistic... more>> to NEETs themselves who don't ever hope to become "normies".

Not sure how I haven't seen this gem until now- 4.5 stars on average by hundreds of reviewers, an active translation group...

Perhaps I shouldn't avoid the japanese isekai genre novels too much anymore. Seems like it isn't spitting out too much complete tr*sh anymore.

Not sure about the novel's writing itself though. I've been reading the manga for a while now, and it's been pretty good, but you honestly can't tell writing style from a manga huh? But from the amount of 5 star reviews, I think it's safe to assume that it has a decent enough writing style.

Check it out, even if you don't like Kingdom Building. It's probably something similar to Second Coming of Gluttony in the character's growth. <<less

A very interesting take on a story. The MC is a neet. After he gets this game he discovers he is a God in the game to another world. His interactions will determine the fate of the people in the other world and in doing so will also make him grow as a person

Translator (whoever is posting on Asada) is sloppy, I think because he's not getting money out of it. Chapters are all over the place. Sometimes part 2 is posted before part 1. It doesn't help that the story is also all over the place. Multiple scene jumps without proper transition in a chapter.

The traveling part is very incongruent w/ the situation, sometimes it's lighthearted then there's tension, then lighthearted again. Make your mind ffs. Waste of time.

For me, this story has a lot of unique elements in it. After all, the premise itself is currently under explored among novel genres. So far, I haven't found anything similar to this one yet so I gave it a high rating.

The reason why I'm subtracting 1 star is because I was hoping for a slice-of-life territory building kind of story. Instead, I got a slice-of-life story focusing on the MC's character growth.

So, if you like a game-related plot that centers around MC's development from being a depressed NEET, then... more>> I recommend you read this one. <<less

I feel like I should take away star, but this novel managed to keep me reading to the end so i'll let it in 3.

The MC is a Neet that hasn't working in 10 years and had some confidence and family troubles, but one day he get's this sim date where he acts as the god of fate for a village and things start to change. The villagers seems real and motivate the protagonist to get better in order to help them and this help him in his relationships. Soon... more>> he finds the game is not just a game and players god not only have powers in the real world but the evil ones find about him when something weird happen and target him while the good gods are keep in the shadow until he contact them somehow.

The good:
And interesting idea and characters you get to care about.
A feeling of becoming better for others.

Tha bad:
The game system doesn't really envolve, at all. There is 5 ranks for MC to grow, but he doesn't really seems to get anything new of it nor it actually envolves at all. Also, most of the abilities he use are not fate related at all while the few times he actually use the fate ones it's mostly said in a passing like nothing important.

Not building or foreshadow, just the drama. Things look dangerous for the villagers or the MC, but he just focus in the drama and somehow resolve everything with the same abilities from always, even thought he shouldn't been able to use it with the same liberty as he said and may include a plot and he didn't showed at all and just took of his from no where saying he was prepared somewhoe. Some plots, are just too hard to buy or are focused in other things that it's hard to see how the actual problem is being worked.

Not consistent MC and cold when he is suppused to be warm: MC is said to be somehow who cares about others and had suffer a lot, yet he seems to not put the same care to others characters that suffered something similar not he seems to be really afected by all the drama the story tries to build.

Rules change: The game rules and gods decrets seems to be firm but it feels like they change when is convenient. <<less

I can't say it is the best written work out there, but it honestly doesn't bother me. The plot is interesting and has many twists and turns that keep the reader engaged. If you are hesitating on if you should read it, give it a go, it's pretty good.

bloggbigg's review is accurate and well written, but I'll just add my own two cents as well.

The concept is fun, it's like Black and White except it's a real village somewhere with a bit more control over how to interact with them. So the initial parts will be interesting and you'll want to see what happens.

But then that's where the problems start. This author has an insane obsession with NEETs, and almost 60 chapters later the MC is still mostly talking about "when I was a NEET" or otherwise completely... more>> focused on that initial idea. The way he gets out of it is ridiculous as well as his relationships with his sister and parents and everything else, but if it was just done and moved on from it would be fine.

I don't really care about the author's obsession with NEETs, especially with how shallow his analysis of it is. There must be very real problems in Japan that it became prevalent, and there is very real suffering from a broken economy and culture that would create that environment. I am worried that it may come to other countries, such as the US, but Japan has its unique issues to hopefully not. Still, the MC isn't great to begin with and making this the main recurring plot point, rather than the village and managing it, is a complete waste. There's no way anybody can possibly care about his boring life, we're here to read about the village building. But as the WN has gone on, the less village building we do.

Spoiler

Currently he has isekai'd into the village, with his smartphone. This is after the arc where the child villager was sent to Japan, and they somehow then both ended up back in the village world.

I thought the translation may have been dropped but it looked like it's still active. A few months gap between the last chapter, and the Japanese chapters are still pretty far ahead. I'm not sure where this is going and if interest in translation will remain, but for now it's a quick, if annoying at times read. <<less

Pretty much this fic tries to balance his real life and the game life. It fails spectacularly. The author never focuses on either one long enough to get the plot going. Instead he keeps writing himself into a corner, where he needs to make stuff up to get himself out of it. A few problems pop up like the: evil stalker, pet lizard, little girl in the mail, evil players and the whole god forums. I don't want to get into the whole details of why this is problematic but... more>> it is a waste of my time reading this junk when the synopsis clearly stated it was going to focus on the game element before his middle life crisis. Instead we get a fic that loses sight of its goal frequently with these problems that appear in thin air and takes multiple chapters to resolve them where we don't get to read about the game over long periods of time due to it. It almost seems like the author is just making the plot up on the spot after a while. (I know I'm right.) However, it is still a decent fic and in the end I would rate it a 3.7/5 <<less

Its about a NEET individual who has not worked since graduation who happens to receive a game where you get to observe the villagers and give command/message once a day.

To help said villagers you can produce miracles but you need fate points which can be earned through the villagers fate or through payin money.

The current story primarily focuses more on the NEET rather than the villagers. I hope it focuses on the after having a stable life style.
