I really loved this story. However, BE AWARE! This story is R-18. Very mature. It has A LOT of smut. Sometimes you would be like: “Stop rolling on the sheets so much! I want plot!”

First of all this is already completed and it was such a nice read!!! The balance between smut and romance was thoroughly satisfying. The main couple surely really did a great job with the development.

I'm telling you this is so amazing, you'll laugh, you'll feel bad but in the end you're gonna be satisfied.

I just hoped I'd get a story for the kiddos too and also for Roy and his wife.

I read the manga version first and then following the novel. I love the smut moments. Honestly I don't really understand about the curse but after re-reading it for at least 3 times I think I could get a hold of this.

And I love the alternate ending as well.. You know they both still get together in the end despite Lucia not trasnmigrated yet. Although it's kinda sad for Damien in both ending.. Well, I wish the author could write the sequel about Damien love story..

Honestly, this is not a well written novel... you can find a lot of these in the supermarket, it's the same plot that those cliché novels:

FL who knows will suffer if falls in love with the ML + rude ML who can anything and is overpowered + lots of s*x scenes

If you are looking for something just to spend time then you can consider reading Lucia (but there are a lot of novels you can read instead of this one) but if you want a well written novel with a... more>> GOOD plot then this is not for you <<less

Overall the story plot is average and I enjoyed it even though some parts during the banging made me think wtf.

LOTS OF SPOILERS BELOW

My problem was when they bang for the first time you already know Damien isn't Hugh's son as he said "I haven't came in a women" so when Hugh pulls a Ned Stark confessing Damien isn't his son it doesn't come as a shock. (Just a comment but the Taran Family is like a mix of the Targaryen's and Stark's. With the inbreeding and bastard son who... more>> isn't a bastard.)

Another thing I dislike of the plot is the way someone gets pregnant with a 'Taran' offspring.

It just happens to be suuuuch a coincidence that Lucia took a specific plant on her first period, and stayed a virg*n. (But hey plot convenience) I kinda hoped she wouldn't have had a biological child and they just had Damien as a son.

When it comes to Lucia she's an overall 5/10 she fell in love with Hugh at I think their second meeting even though she promises not to like a day ago. In my opinion she's pretty useless in certain aspects, and relies on Hugh and his title for a lot although she doesn't spend his money lavishly. (So that's a plus I guess?) Also their confession took forever but glad they sorted it out in 1 chapter compared to other stories that take 100. Her whole life is just have s*x with the hubby, drink some tea and eat some good food, occasional party, and read some books or sew. (Given the time period, I guess this was the norm for a wife of a noble, so can't judge her too bad.)

Honestly I like Hugh a lot more than Lucia. Even though his attraction to her in the first place was that she had a 'magical kitty' that he's never felt from anyone else. He actually had some character development compared to Lucia as he started out as a womanizing arrogant piece of sh*t who later on turned into someone who felt love and cried for the first time.

When it came to the side characters I liked some and the others made me want to strangle them in their sleep.
    • Damien- Wasted potential, I wanted him and Hugh to actually develop a father/son relationship and appear more in the main story.
    • The doctor- He's just insane and his obsession with the bloodline is concerning. Wish he could've been a full on villain and Hugh would've struggled a little to defeat him.
    • Anita/David- Glad they got strangled by the Mad Dog and they didn't pose much of a threat as a 'villain'.
    • Anna- Wanted to slap her across the country for staying in cahoots with the sketchy doctor.
The bedroom scenes were just ehh. It's pretty repetitive with Hugh being an animal in bed and Lucia being shy and crying. However, it did make the novel a lot more amusing at the way they described everything.

Even though I'm a bit picky over certain things you should read it. It doesn't take too long to finish and a solid 3/5. <<less

five chapters in and it's already full of contradictions, plotholes, and many annoyances. The protagonist, despite having lived “for a lifetime” as it is said several times in the novel, is incredibly impulsive, naive, and just astonishingly f*cking dumb as a rock. The author is not trying to hide the fact that originally she wasn't particularly smart or wise, but even after vividly remembering even the tiniest detail of her past life i.e., “the dream, ” she conveniently acts like a ret*rd most of the times by not having pretty... more>> much any plan to change her life (despite now having a fair bit of money unlike before, which ironically it came by a fluke), only to then being all mature and philosophical right in the next paragraph, and surprise surprise, then returning to being a naive country girl that can't believe people are capable of lying by the next line. Moreover, we're supposed to feel really bad for her when she acts naively, and feel super sassy when she suddenly acts like an old lady.

The ML, on the other hand, is a narcissistic sociopath who hates women; a fact that the author really wants us to notice, but at the same time hinting at the idea that he's just a cute fluff boi because he sometimes thinks the MC looks like a pet rabbit or smt. I can already predict that he's yet another yandere ML with r*pe tendencies.

It probably gets better down the line, but holy sh*t I don't understand why people like this so much. I guess women can kinda self-insert into the main character? Her personality certainly is bland enough for that. <<less

Some parts get boring, BUT! The character development is just sweet. It's not the most distinguished book with an amazing story line, but the plot is great. I enjoyed reading it, no regrets. It's a must read.

I really really liked the story. Both the ML and FL are lovable and strong. The relationship between them brings tears to my eyes each time and there is no shortage of frisky moments. Once I started reading I couldn’t put it down. I definitely recommend it to everyone. (๑≫◡<๑)

Okay this my first time writing a review and for some reason my heart wouldn't let me rest unless until I did so.

I gave it up again. I had came back again and decided I didn't have anything to lose, I decided to read the manhwa and then if I liked it i'd continue onto the novel. And let me just say I loved it. I would urge to anyone who is a little hesitant to read this, just do it. Its honestly the most amazing romance novel I had read. It had everything I looked for in a romance novel, which was all wrapped up with the authors beautiful writing (and the translators clear translating). The character/relationship development in this was so smooth that I didn't even realize how much Hugh had actually changed till I looked back. Finishing this novel left a huge gap in my heart, and if I had one wish it would be for me to forget all of it just so I could read it again. <<less

It's a great romance novel to read. The plot is well-written without plot holes. It makes you want to read until the end.

Smut is okay (even though I got bored at the end of the book - it's kind of repetitive), but still enjoyable.
Spoiler

Hugh fell in love with Lucia's v*gina... like whaatttt?..... okay then.

I wish there were extra stories about Damien and Roy, especially Damien.

Definitely worth reading!

The most amazing novel I’ve ever read in this genre!!!

The story is just so well-balanced, there is smut (HELLA good smut, not cringe at all), there is fluff, mystery, conflicts, magic, anything you want. I... just can’t properly convey how amazing this novel is. But I can assure you that you won’t regret picking up this novel.

Also, I want to give a big fat shoutout to Miss Ruby for finishing the translation of this novel!! Thank you so much, you’re a queen!

11/10

I have never read such masterpiece (for me) !!!

Everything was just DELICIOUS in this novel. Characters. Plotline. Well written writing. Spicy scenes. Character development.

... more>> I love it. I just LOVE it.

Lovable mc's and side characters. Not too much drama bullsh*t and unnecessary outrageous events happening but just intricately tied fate of the characters. Pacing is very good. SO. MUCH. SMUT but nicely embedded into the plotline. Yes theres so much s*x but its not boring. I definitely love the character growth and istg our main couple is just perfect! They seriously balance each other out and I really love Lucia, she's the best. She's such a person full of warmth, love and goodness BUT she's not a softie though. She's also tenacious and decisive, like it was said in one of the chapters, she's almost the same as the male lead. I honestly think even if ML tried so hard to "protect her innocence" and tried to show her only good things, I'd like to think it'd make no difference to Lucia, she's tough, she already lived a hard life so I highly doubt her exposure to "dark things" would change her in any way.

Spoiler

Oh I also love the side stories, its pretty much a super extended epilogue. I liked they showed a lot things after, like just them being domestic and being parents and stuff, I'd really like for a sequel for this, specially for Damian's part.

[collapse]

There's much to be curious about for what happened to the other characters by the end but tbh this novel is pretty much already among the top amongst i've read that is solidly put together. This is definitely going on my 'Read Again' list. <<less

My first korean novel that I've read. One of the best too. It's just that there were so many smutty scences for my liking, though I liked it when they are lovey dovey with each other, I want to read the next scene fast so, I skipped those scenes sometimes.

The novel is easily one of the best in its category, that being a downtrodden female lead in an arranged marriage and the love that eventually unfolds between the two.

That being said, it's not without flaws. The most obvious one is that while I went in knowing it would contain smut as the genres listed plainly made me aware of, the writing of the s*x scenes are just awful and got to be very repetitive. The only one that really stands apart is the first time on their marriage night,... more>> when the male lead basically took advantage of his drunk wife and a lot of the "backstory" from Lucia's dream world and her marriage with the Count is revealed. At a certain point I just started skimming them, glancing for any parts of conversation that were relevant to the plot.

The other larger flaw to me is that...

Spoiler

... it seems like the characters from the North get forgotten as soon as they arrive in the capital. I was casually hoping to see more of Kate and her grand-aunt since I figured they'd be fairly major side characters. But alas, no such luck. Similarly a lot of the side characters in the capital don't get enough time to shine either. Katherine in particular, who I was completely (to my delight) wrong about as I figured she'd be taking over once the Countess of Falcon died due to her own machinations. Similarly Beth feels like she could've played a much larger role, and I really enjoyed her more motherly visage. That being said though, what we do get to see of both Katherine and Beth is great, as they become the elder sisters to Lucia without much complications. Similarly, Norman also just F's off randomly as soon as she arrives back in the capital and is then never mentioned again (hoping for a sidestory dedicated to her)

[collapse]

Additionally, (and as I write this I have yet to finish the side stories, so what I say here MIGHT be resolved there) I feel like a lot of minor plot threads just go unfinished. No really big parts of the story, mind you. But things like what Roy is up to towards the end of the story, or an alternate viewpoint of the Duke's "previous" marriage from the dream world (it always felt like there was some plot threads brewing there, but it never came to anything), etc.

On the plus side though, the side characters that are around Hugh are all great. Jerome is this stoic, loving grandfatherly figure almost, overseeing the two of them. His brother Fabian is in a lot of ways the exact opposite, calling out all the BS if nowhere else at least in his mind and thus to us the readers. Roy is a lovable idiot battlefreak, but one with a set of principles and morals and to most people's surprise a lot smarter than he lets on. Kwiz is both heartless and full of heart at the same time, I get the feeling that he actually loves his Queen Beth, though that is just me reading between the lines, and plays a role as one of the very few people who can actually make jokes at the expense of Hugh to his face.

Another huge relief for me was that unlike a lot of other dramatic novels with a female lead, there is no long stretches of the female lead being bullied or humiliated or plotted against time and time again. These events do happen, yes, but it is quickly squashed by herself and if need be the Duke will step in and add some salt to the wounds as well.

Additionally, for the most part, I was not frustrated at the misunderstanding between the two:

Spoiler

I felt like it made sense as to why both of them were so insecure and unwilling to take that next step in their relationship. Lucia feels that the Duke only sees her as a bedmate, one that she definitely knows he cares for, but nothing close to love, and if she does express her love she will swiftly be granted a yellow rose. The Duke on the other hand has a lot of self-hatred, which colors how he views Lucia. All of that being said though, I feel like it could've been resolved a LOT earlier than when it did, but it was never a huge, nagging annoyance as misunderstanding plot threads have a tendency to become..

[collapse]

All in all, it's a great story and I finished it easily in two sittings. Both of the translators who worked on the novel did a great job, and I hope to see more, if there is any available, of the author in the future! A very solid 4, but JUST short of a 5 for me. <<less
