Upon waking up, Ruan Xia had transmigrated into a webnovel that she had stayed up all night to finish reading. She had become the villain’s mother.

In the novel, after the death of her first husband, the original owner of the body had hooked up with a Mr. Perfect at the fastest possible speed. Worried and discontent that her son from her first marriage would become a burden on her, she heartlessly abandoned her son.

Having once held the best quality script and informed of future events, Ruan Xia looked at her still alive first husband as well as her future villain son. She sighed. She wanted to apply for a different script!

I mainly read it because of the childcare tag - and it wasn't disappointing. I love their little fatty son - very cute, funny and mature at the same time.

I also like that the MC and the ML had a slow romance and not like other novels where they only see each other once and BAM - true love. The MC was realistic and she didn't immediately stick herself to her husband, but instead gradually learned about him and fall in love. The ML also first only cared about his son, but respected his wife even if they were indifferent at first.

I also feel very emotional at the end when I learned the reason the MC did not want to have another child. ( ̄^ ̄) ゞ

Dropped

Eh, I didn't like the premise at the beginning so gonna stop. The MC felt a little boring and the 3 year old kid was too unbelievably smart. 3 years old alrd can talk in perfect long sentences. Too weird. I would have preferred it if the MC had to coax the kid into liking her but nope, he has a short memory and became immediately sticky. And not cute at all. So far, I didn't gotten the chance to like anything.

I quite liked it. Even though the premisse (transmigrating into the villains mother who's dad is a rich handsome CEO with who she has a fake marriage and a distant relationship) is nothing new, the manner how the author approaches is different.

There's no instalove, she doesn't have golden fingers or special abilities, she doesn't start the story being overly empathetic or assume the position of a mom, she starts off her relationship with this son and husband that suddenly gained as a stranger - detached, and their relationship and how... more>> she feels about them changes with the time as she gets to know them.

There are many sweet/cute moments in this novel, but what sets this story apart from others with similar premisses is the realism the author brings to the characters thinking and their practical reasoning.

Even though in real life many people don't know how to talk and communicate, this MC and ML know how to talk to avoid misunderstandings and make their relationship in the best way possible. <<less

A wholesome and sweet story! FL gains an instant husband and child. The body she possessed used to neglect her son and ignore her CEO husband. After transmigration, the son is immediately clingy and forgives FL even though she literally disliked and ignored him before. He doesn’t have much trauma. FL goes through major character development as she grows into her role as a parent.

The romance is slow burn and feels very realistic as ML realizes FL has had a change of mind and is now making an effort to... more>> be better. ML actually cares for his son as a real parent would, not unreasonably jealous or seeing the son as just an extension of FL, which is uncommon in these stories.

There’s not much drama. Most of the story just feels like a heartwarming, wholesome read. The translation is also very good.

I recommend it, but don’t expect high-paced drama and catfights. <<less

If you just want to read some wholesome slice of life type of novel to get away from the stressful reality, this novel is for you. As much as other people think that the novel is bland, I think it depicts a rather realistic (therefore slow) progression of the romance between the ML and MC. I think its refreshing to see a not-so-toxic ML. The male lead is a rare breed in a universe full of controlling domineering MLs lol. I just want a man like this in real life... more>> pls. Dayum the guy do be raising our standards. Also, bonus points if you like a cute, witty, thoughtful little boy. Little Wang is too cute~ <<less

This is my first time ever doing a review before that, I didn't even bother myself to get registered in this platform, Even though, I was using this site for a quite long. But, somehow a review what compelled me to do so, especially in this novel review section. Which not only had me laughing my ass off for a long period of time but made me want to invest my emotions in this novel. Overall, it was okay to pass your time if have enough but really not worth... more>> the energy... Again I am reading it due to a reviewer called "xtruthxliex". Who ranted about the chubby kid in this whole ass novel for being a fake and so on. As I am writing this, I'm still Laughing my lungs out. 😂 <<less

There's no such big problems. I mean, even those supporting actors understand that they can't have things everytime.

I really like how the ending works. There's no pressure about pregnancy and even the ML support her. This ML is so ideal. There's no misunderstanding since he's straight forward, very gentleman type.

Thus, I'm sorry to the og2husband but I think how he says that's the retribution of how he acts with his deceased wife, he deserved it.

Ruan Xia (MC) is kinda refreshing and unique compared to other transmigrators who suddenly became a mother. She's practical and realistic, her emotions are relatable especially when she didn't immediately fell in love with kid and didn't immediately considered herself as his mother (but aunt LMAO). She's responsible and treated the kid very well but it took time for her to emotionally adjust as a parent.

The ML is good father with problem in his EQ bc of his past. I also like the slow build/transition of the relationship between the... more>> MC and ML... how they became strangers to friends to lovers.

I also like that Little Wang (kid) is smart but he acts/think according to his age. Unlike other novels who got an overly genius kid.

The plus points for me is that the novel didn't forced MC to change her mind in having 2nd kid. And how the ML respected her decision.

This book is a good read and light. The romance is slow built and I like that "supposed" love rivals/villains are not evil and given chance to change peacefully with not so much drama. <<less

More realistic and slow-paced as the MC doesn’t instantly love her insta-son or show interest in her insta-husband... but somehow her joy at her newfound beauty and wealth and relative indifference to the people in her life gets to me. There’s less fluff, feels than I’d hoped. It just feels cold.

In all honesty, this is a great story. Although not a completely realistic look into romance, the MC and the ML have a very pragmatic approach to their relationship, and it's refreshing to see that kind of relationship when a lot of other stories really play up the "I'll die for you, regardless" trope.

Spoiler

I particularly love that ML, although he learns to love MC, is very aware that he wouldn't have fallen in love with MC if they didn't have Little Wang between them. It's not very nice to listen to, but it is the honest truth that authors would usually skirt around because it'll break the fantasy and the "unconditional" love between FL and ML. Mad respect to Author-san for not avoiding this.

Also, I find that ML being able to openly admit this means that he put a lot of thought into his feelings and his relationship with MC. It gives me a stable feeling rather than these promises of "I'd fall for you even if [this or that] hadn't happened."

[collapse]

The (side) characters were a bit flat, I'll admit, but I've personally met a few people who weren't exactly... dynamic either. There is a bit of character growth for the main characters, so it's not too bad.

The only reason why I'm rating it four stars rather than five is because there were so many strings that I felt were left untied when the story ended. I won't go too into it because I don't want to put another spoiler and it would make my review too long. I also understand where Author-san was coming from when they ended it, but the ending didn't really feel like an ending. So, yeah. 4/5 stars. <<less

Mind-rotting.

1. The syntax is downright abhorrent. I understand that there are sentences and literal expressions that are hard to translate- but even given the difference between Chinese and English SVO, this is an atrocity.

2. The dialogue.

"It was the greatest fate that brought the two of you together as husband and wife. Look at me and your father. Even though you father has never earned much money, he treats me very well."

This entire passage boggles my goddamn mind. It reads as if the words were translated ad verbatim. The literary equivalent of putting a sentence through a blender.

3. The story.

Do yourself a favor and find something with more substance to read.

tl;dr atleast it's not harem

It is very lovely, and short novel. Characters are a little one dimensional but the novel is quite short, so you will not get bored from them. It is obvious the author actually did some research about the topics, because when the characters are talking about business it feels real.

I read the MTL'ed version even though there were some parts that I did not understand lol.

It was short, cute, smooth and a slice of life genre. The development between the MC and their son was logical as the MC did not easily fell in love and is a rational thinker. What I adore the most was their interaction and their honesty with one another that refrained from having a simple misunderstanding that will lead to hurtful events.

Overall, it was a great read for me. I enjoyed reading this. Recommeded... more>> for those who don't want a face slapping/full of angst novel, and just want a slice of life and relaxed story. <<less

Very cute and quick novel to read!

I love that the MC is very understanding of her situation and things logically. She accept things rather quickly regarding how she knew how to approach the husband and child and made a plan to life her life smoothly.

Just want to clear up some things:

  1. The MC came from another world and its really hard for her to just accept another person's life so I can understand why she seems a little off or indifferent. I would definitely feel the same if I jumped into a body and suddenly had a husband and a child. It would take time to adjust to develop a sense of acceptance to that life.
  2. The story may come off as not having any plot or too slow, but keep in mind one of the tags for this novel is SLOW ROMANCE. Development and plot lines are slow in those tags.
  3. I believe THE AUTHOR SPLITS UP THE CHAPTERS so for some of y'all saying shi like this novel is boring or no character development or tension/drama, it is too soon for y'all to judge since I'm guessing the novel is barely even half translated. Its like y'all are rating this novel 1-2 stars based off 17 chapters or something lol. If anything I'll wait to form my own conclusion after I finish this novel.

The novel is a simple read. It doesn't give off any strong emotions of angst, comedy, actio, drama, etc. It's just a story of a girl who lives a boring single life of work and home transmigrating into a novel she's read and her experience of how she eventually became a integral part of a very normal family from a bystander who's got absolutely nothing to do with them.

The story starts with her decision to continue to act as a nominal wife to the ML and acting like a kind... more>> aunt to the son and ends with her realising how she's already adapted to thinking like a mom and falling in love and having a fulfilling life with her husband.

The characters in the story are very normal and not too OP like every other novel out there. The MC is normal and besides saving ML at the beginning does nothing too extraordinary.

The ML is just a 35 y.o guy who's achieved his current status and wealth through sheer determination and hardwork given the fact that he had no favourable conditions like a golden spoon or protagonist's golden thumb.

The son is just a smart 4 y.o and not a genius of the millennium. He is just smarter than his peers in his logical thinking and reasoning abilities.

I think it's a decent read with not much masala to excite the readers or boring enough to drop it halfway. <<less

Finished reading this (Well MTL). I will edit more when the translation is completed to understand their feeling more.

As of 04 Jan 2020. I said this novel to be very very simple and plain, but whenever translator up dates, I find myself to read the up date and proceeds to MTL again. I dont know how many times I have done it.

The idea is very cliche but the delivery/the way the author wrote this and mixed light comedy into the writing without too much is making the novel interesting to... more>> read.

There's nothing but simple plot. Villain or love rival is there, but quick to resolve too.

Basically, the whole novel is about how they're making their life, and how they're getting to know each other (wife, husband and son).

Another novel I really really like.

Regarding Original MC, I dont understand her POV in life. She ashamed of her father achievement, and thought it was the rights of parent to give the children the best, but since they could not, she tricked a rich guy to carry her. THIS I could understand. It's actually pretty normal, also she's not hurting anyone to achieve all that, beside her parents heart.
Fortunately, she chose the right man. Her husband was righteous in taking the responsibility eventhough he knew she started it (and allowed it and let her be). And he didnt divorce her or mistreated her and her family when she was not a good mother, not a good wife and not a good daughter. Fuk, what kind of person is this OriMC...... She did the same thign with her second husband, even abandoned her son eventhough her 2nd hubby was willing to adopt the son.
She's not cold but just a very selfish person that couldnt have empathy maybe.... what a waste of breath to live imo Coz she threw all the people that care for her. And she even gave the body and her life to TransmMC. Is she rly tired to live?
For once, I couldnt care for an Original MC fate eventhough her story was snatched.

Now, for the Transmigrated MC
What I like from MC is how she realized that to be beautiful and stayed that way needed hardwork. Like how she's dieting just bcoz she needed to attend a party but her weight went up (juuuust a tiny bit), and she wanted to parade and to be the envy there lol She nvr forgot to do face and body maintenance every night too that it affected her son too XD

She stayed true to her character, and using logic to choose the best action. With the son, she just tried to be the cool aunt at the beginning coz she knew she didnt know how to be a mother. Slowly she tolerated him and no longer considered the son as someone else's son. She was frightened when her son went missing. At that time, I think she was ready to be a mother and to try to be a wife too.

She's also not losing her brain cell when she realized she might like ML. And ML also slowly started to see how his 'plastic' marriage can be more than that. Their romancing was beautifully slow yet it was good and suitable for them. They went to date, and he gave her flower, just things where people are dating do.

The Son is just very very very very CUTE!!!!! I love how she imitated MC to wear sunglasses whenever they went out, and being a fashionable kid XD I alw have this imagination; MC and her son are readying themselves to go out, and they both wear and touch the sunglasses and say Lets go! while holding a hand on their hip LOL And he was apparently very fat or almost at the obese limit that the doctor even gave him dieting order XD

What I like from MC is how she realized that to be beautiful and stayed that way needed hardwork. Like how she's dieting just bcoz she needed to attend a party but her weight went up (juuuust a tiny bit), she wanted to parade and boast herself lol

She stayed true to her character, and using logic to choose the best action. She's also not losing her brain cell when she realized she might like ML. And ML also slowly started to see how his 'plastic' marriage can be more than that.

It's not a fluffy cute story but a warm reality hit one for me. <<less

This is not bad but I feel this missing something.

At this point, I’m not sure if this is a personal preference or something in the story just leave me unsatisfied.

This is a story of two very indifferent people trying to create a family. The FL is not as bad as the description shows. She is just too realistic. The ML is also not the perfect ML as some people has stated. It almost feels like two monks getting together and making a family. That’s how emotionless this story can be.... more>> There is some but it comes in near the end.

This does have a HE so go in without any reservations if the premise is interesting. There really is no ups and downs here, just a flat line with the occasional blips just like a heart monitor with the occasional heart beat. Again, this is not bad if you have read all the other better novels here. <<less

A non-dramatic, fairly realistic, slow romance. It's not so amazing that I would fangirl over it, but it was amusing enough that I would like to read it again if I'm in the mood for a cute romance that's just warm and fluffy.

The main characters are rational, cute, and amusing. I love how serious they are most of the time but still have a little bit of humor; it really makes the characters more 3-dimensional. The supporting cast is just there to support - I would usually complain about this,... more>> but since the story focused so much on the main characters and how their relationship progresses, I didn't mind it. <<less
